I dream and drool over their fried fish sandwiches.  They are the best I've ever had.

I love this place and always have.  It's right on the water in the bay and has a relaxed atmosphere.

The prices have gone up quite a bit, but it's definitely worth the money for their delicious fish sandwiches.

Meh....  Let me explain my meh and 2 stars.

I lived in Galveston for 3 years for school, and found a lovely little mom and pop seafood place.  So unfortunately when you've had the best, you tend to compare all others to that wonderful gem.

I ordered and ate the fried shrimp plate at Snoopys.  The fries were crunchy and yummy.  But the shrimp was greasy.  The breading wasn't so wonderful.  And the hush puppies were lacking something, I think jalapenos and onions like my lovely gem puts in theirs.

My husband ordered the fish and chips plate.  I'm not much of a "fish and chips person"..... but these fried fish was wonderful!  So I give them that.

THey are cash only... FYI.  And the map brings up the wrong location.  I don't know if they moved or what, but that cane be irritating when you are trying to find a place.

Get your crab on here!  Nothing like smashing a little crab to get your frustrations of the day out, as well as enjoying some good seafood.  Nice hang out with good people, good friends and fun times.  Did anyone say ice cream too?

Corpus Christi/Snoopy's - these names have become synonymous to me.  Craving for a great place for fish and chips and a beer?  Got it covered with this place.  Fish is from the fresh catch of the day.  Love the atmosphere - right off the pier with the jealous seagulls wishing they could just snatch up your food!

I have gone to this place since I was a little girl.  The food is great and there's an ice cream shop, Scoopy's, next door.  The atmosphere is casual with outdoor seating available, old-time ship and fishing decorations, and a large fire pit in the middle of the main room.  I keep coming back after all these years!  The only reason it doesn't get 5-stars is because it's a cash only establishment and they only sell beer.

We were looking for a traditional fried seafood place and found this one on yelp.  I tried a combination platter that included fried fish, shrimp, and oysters with fries and coleslaw.  I also tried an order of hush puppies.  All of it was fresh and very good.  My fingers were greasy at the end but you do expect that.  The oil was light in flavor that let the crispy batter and seafood flavors come through.  It definitely fit the bill for the type of place we were looking for and we would come back.  None of us tried any of the non-fried items.  These will be on the list to try on our next visit.

Note, the restaurant is cash only and doesn't have an AC. However it is a great location right on the water.  It feels like a great place to have some fried seafood.

Do NOT use Google to get here! Great fried oysters and fabulous broccoli! I went back for a second serving, but the wine was too long. Mosey over to Scoopy's afterward! I had sticky rice with cream and caramel sauce! The rice was hot with cold ice cream...wish I lived closer!
Important note: cash only! They do have an ATM, though...

Exactly what we were looking for! The food was amazing- so fresh and it was exactly the chill kind of atmosphere and food we wanted on our vacation. The fish and chips were perfection. Their hush puppies are probably the best I have ever had. Great tarter sauce too! Their cole slaw wasn't my thing (it is more vinegar based and I like cream based) but you get so much food you don't really miss it! Their kids menu offered the usual kid type stuff (my kids don't care for fish and opted for a grilled cheese and cheeseburger) so everyone was happy! We were able to sit outside and watch the beautiful sun set over the water.

After spending our Saturday in the sand, we expected a long wait wherever we went. We made it in and out, even though they were busy and hosting a HUGE party. Kudos to Snoopy's!

I read about this in one of those airline magazines on a recent flight.  the list was "best seafood joints in America".  well, I go to Corpus for work rather frequently but this trip, my sister and her family were with me.  We are all seafood lovers so we decided to check this place out for ourselves.

it's right on off the bridge from Padre Island with the usual relaxed beachy decor plus a wall full of old boat motors.  The seafood is fresh fresh fresh!  the fish and chips were crispy and not oily.  we all had full and happy tummies.

    please note, cash only!

Where else do you go when you're packed up and headed home from a few windy days camping on Padre Island? Snoopy's! Gosh that was corny.

Snoopy's Pier is right off the bridge from the island. Trusting my Yelp buddies we picked this place over the two other shacks in the area.

This is turning into a really boring review, I'm sorry guys!

The shrimp was fantastic. I try not to think about the oil refineries just around the corner while I'm eating them. Super fresh, crispy, perfect breading. I ended up getting half fish and chips. Ohmygosh, the fish was to DIE for!

We will definetely be back to Snoopy's. Perfect seafood shack!

During my last few years in CC, I pretty much spent all of my 'free' time at the beach.  I'd stop by Snoopy's on the way back over the bridge to eat a nice juicy cheeseburger.  It has the perfect atmosphere for those who like eating by the water while watching the ships roll on by.

Even 20 years later, I still make it a point to stop by Snoopy's when visiting my old stomping ground.  Very much suggest heading down there during sunset, ordering a cheeseburger and a Corona.   When you are done, walk over to grab some ice cream next door.  You won't regret it.

My first thought was, where the hell is Woodstock? Then I realized it had nothing to do with the comic strip and everything to do with seafood.  I ordered the crab cakes and while there was no frosting, there was deliciousness in each bite. The side of hush puppies were amazing with the crunchiness on the outside and the amazingness on the inside. It won't be mistaken for a high-end seafood restaurant, but the food is good and you can do much worse.

After a really bad experience at another resaurant at Bob Hall Pier we decided to go out to supper at a sure thing. We went to Snoopy's Pier because we love seafood and we sure love Snoopy's.

I had the fish and chips which is Dolphin fish (I am from Florida and can't get used to calling it Mahi Mahi) it was as always perfect. My wife had shrimp and ditto. I don't know how they manage to do this in their reasonable price range but sure am glad they do. This place is one of the Gems in the Corpus Christi restaurant market.

I think I am ready to go back again really soon.

The fish and shrimp were fresh and the food was served quickly. We had a little trouble finding the place, though. Google maps told us the restaurant was just before we hit the bridge heading south. We finally found the place when we gave up and decided to cross the bridge to Padre Island.

I would have given the restaurant more stars, but the fries were pretty tasteless (the curly fries were a bit better) and the poppy seeds in the cole slaw just didn't suit me. The rest of the food was good, though all fried, of course. I had the fried shrimp which was very good. My husband had the fried fish and my son had the drumsticks. The only difference we could figure out between them is that the first was "white" fish meat and the latter was "dark" fish meat. But we had no idea what kind of fish either one was. The shrimp stir fry had yummy shrimp, but the rice tasted down-right weird.

This restaurant only takes cash! They have an ATM on the premises, but I'd be willing to bet that there are fees for using it.

Everytime I go to Port A I make sure to stop by here. I know it's just simple and fried, but damn this is some good stuff.  I usually get the Half Combo. It comes with fried oysters, fish, shrimp, and fries. I've tried other places in the area but this one takes the cake for fried seafood.

This is exactly what a dive restaurant near the coast should be.  It was absolutely packed on a Saturday afternoon, and the service was still decent.  You stand in line, make your order at a counter, and then find a table--many of which are outdoors in an open air environment that's right on the water.  At some point a guy will call for you and give you a tray of food along with all the tartar sauce or ketchup you may require.

If you're not wearing swimsuit or shorts, you are probably very overdressed compared to the rest of the crowd.  This place is definitely catching people coming in from the beach or on their way out to go boating.

While they have some other options, the standard food here is fried seafood served in baskets with french fries and hush puppies.  Shrimp, fish, crab, etc....

I have been coming here with my family since I was a small child. At almost 30 and living in another state, it's still the first stop when we hit El Constante every Fall. I don't remember what the food tasted like when I was little- in fact, I hated seafood as a child (living on the Gulf Coast- blasphemous, I know). All I know now is that you can't ever go wrong with their fried oysters, deviled crab, or combo plates and my favorite moment of my vacation down there every fall is when I'm taking that first swig out of a mini bottle of ice cold cheap pinot grigio as I sit on the water watching the sunset with my Nebraskan-born (and seafood converted) husband and family, waiting for our names to be called.

I also look forward to the service and having to argue that I should be allowed to eat there because while my driver's license says different, I am a native Texan ;) They are just teasing of course, and I always feel like a long lost friend when I come back.

Make sure you get there in time for the sunset.. and bring a camera.

It has been a few years since I've gone to Snoopy's but nothing has changed, they're still serving fabulous seafood!   Also being located right on the bay, it offers some great views of the nearby bridge that has to be crossed to get to Snoopy's from the Corpus Christi main city area.  The hands down winner this time around was the fish & chips.  They used corvina as the fish choice in their fish & chips and it was moist, lightly battered, and nice sized chunks of fish.  Prior to coming here, my girlfriend absolutely disliked fish & chips, but she has never had fish & chips like are served here at Snoopy's.   She was converted into a fish & chip lover and even was eating the batter crumbs left in our 10 piece fish & chip platter.  Everywhere we go from now on to get fish & chips is going to be compared to Snoopy's.  Something important to note that their tarter sauce is pretty light, without being watery or bland, which makes a nice addition to the fish & chip experience.

Snoopy's is the place to go for your fried seafood beach experience. Nestled under the bridge near Corpus Christi, order your half-sampler with fried oysters, shrimp and fish ($10) and enjoy that golden brown crunchiness. The fried fish has been my favorite so far and I substitute  fries for fried okra because I love it and I get to pretend there are some extra vegetables on my plate. The deviled crab cakes are okay, but a little over-seasoned with bacon. The coleslaw peppered with poppy seeds is a vinegar-mayo mix, and is a nice complement to the seafood. Definitely the best place to go for your beach food experience, without sacrificing your wallet (and stomach) to the restaurants in Port A.

I have grown up on Snoopy's Pier's food.

I love the people who work behind the counter and give great service. I love that you can sit on the water and eat. I love that the fish is always hot, and the slaw is always cold. I love wrapping my beer in a napkin.

The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars? I got fishy tasting shrimp. Twice.

Other than that, I'll continue to come here and love the food and dine with my loved ones forever. Incredible food!

We were on our way down the coast and asked a local where to eat fresh seafood.   This is the place!

We had a fried oyster sandwich and coconut shrimp basket while over looking the water.  Lots of seating here and the service is fast on a not so busy weekday afternoon.  They have wine in individual servings and lots of beer.  I opted for ice tea and we had plenty of food.

They have fishing wire strung over the patio to keep the birds out which seems to do the trick.  There is lots of room here, inside and out to eat.  There is a lot of covered patio and when we went they had a fire in the inside to warm it up.

Remember , very casual but the fresh fish is a definite plus.  We would go back again.

This place is horrible! Not sure why everyone thinks this place is so awesome? I can get a better seafood meal in Dallas, TX or at your local Long John Silvers! Tourist trap? - yep that pretty much sums it up!

I ordered the grilled mahi mahi fish sandwich with a side order of hush puppies and my other half got the fried combination platter. First off my sandwich was pretty small (think child size hamburger at Mickie D's with a thin slice of fish). The fish was not fresh and looked like it had been previously frozen then thawed out then left out for a while, very surprising since we are in Port A which is known as a fishing mecca with fresh fish all around us, AND it had a slice of processed American cheese on top of it...WTH?!? The hush puppies were good, I'll give them that. My husband's order wasn't much better - it came with two tiny fried shrimp, two tiny pieces of fried corvina (cheap fish), two fried oysters, fries and watered down poppy seeded coleslaw. He said it was just so-so and that it all tasted the same.  We could have made a better meal at home! We walked out of there vowing never to go there again! It's a shame considering they have a great outside area with amazing views of the sunset and the intercostal highway.

    Very disappointed (head shake) ;(

Great view, decent fried seafood, very laid back atmosphere.  Go for the view, the cold beer & a basket of fried shrimp.

Enjoyed a late lunch on a Tuesday, looking over the water - fried shrimp sandwich, small seafood plate (2 shrimp, 2 fish pieces, 2 oysters - which were traded for more shrimp), a cheeseburger and a large order of curly fries with 3 teas came to $27.  Not a bad price & a decent meal.  Fried seafood & cheeseburger were all worth coming back for.

Remember -- you're eating at a seafood dive -- don't expect impeccable service or a varied menu.  That being said, however, rumors of old oil or stale products are disconcerting.  We did not experience that -- but our fries were soggy.  Curly fries were much better.  Cole slaw was marginal at best.

Prices are acceptable.  A bit higher than a place in town, but nowhere near as high as many places in Port A on the water (I'm talking to you Virginia's).

Whenever I make a trip to Corpus, there's just NO negotiating!  I HAVE to go to Snoopy's.  The fish... the fries... the fried okra... the hush puppies... and of course I gotta sit on the bar stools that face Laguna Madre!

I always get excited whenever I cross that bridge and see 'SNOOPY'S' written in huge white letters across the top of the restaurant.  Sometimes I try to get here a little before or after the lunch or dinner crowd since this place has a tendency to get packed (even in the winter months!)

And whenever I get done eating, I just gotta grab a few crackers and feed the fish that swim out from under the bridge...

My boyfriend and I would come here probably about once a month, even in the winter... l.ove that fireplace! He's been living and working in San Fransisco for six months now and will be back this weekend. He says this is on his list of places we must go.... and here's why:

The food is fresh. No, it's not gourmet or fancy, but it's tasty. Great tartar sauce. Good iced tea. Lots of beers from which to choose. But mostly, we come for the view. Okay... it's the intracoastal waterway.  There's nothing better than to sit outside on a Sunday afternoon soaking up the sun and having a nice bite to eat.
No one cares if you're in sandals and a bathing suit still wet from the beach. Laid back dining at its best.

To island residents, this is one of the local staples. It's owned and run by the cool Butler family. Daddy Butler goes trolling in the mornings to catch the stuff that goes on the menu later in the day. How awesome is that?

The prices are reasonable, the view is fantastic, the rustic feel is authentic and perfect, you can drive your boat up to the pier, dock, walk inside and eat, then head home full, and catch a tan outside while enjoying the whole experience.

There's also Scoopy's next door, if you're in the mood for ice cream to round off the meal or even you out after a beer or 3.

I suggest... well, anything really. I've never had anything bad at Snoopy's. When I go home to visit the folks, a trip to Snoopy's makes everything feel all right in the world. Take your friends if you're a local, or visit this fairly famous spot if you're an out-of-towner.

P.S. Ignore the dumb map. It's not where the Yelp arrow says it is. It's actually almost directly under the bridge on the island side of the JFK Causeway. To get there, take the very first exit when coming onto the island--THE FIRST ONE before you even pass the Padre Island sign and swordfish statue. It's ok, just turn around and catch it on the way back, if you missed it. Either exit, the one coming onto the island or leaving the island will take you under the bridge, then make your way to the tall restaurants on the left side. I just edited it in Google, but the change may not be updated yet. If it's accurate, give me a holler so I can remove this warning.

P.S.S. the shrimp, flounder are awesome.

P.S.S.S. Don't feed the sea gulls, or chance being skinned by the staff. No body likes being dive-bombed and hounded (and possibly shit on) by the Hitchcock BIRDS scene that will happen within moments of a single fry being thrown. They come out of nowhere and en masse. Don't act like a damn tourist. That AIN'T COOL.

Me and some friends decided to try Snoopy's on the way back home from Port Aransas.  I had the Fried Shrimp platter which was $11 and included 6 shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. The shrimp were lightly breaded and were fresh but it seemed to lack a distinct flavor. Maybe I'm just used to shrimp scampi or something that is more seasoning intensive but it just seemed kind of bland. The hush puppies were excellent. Normally I don't eat hush puppies and almost gave them away but I tried them and they were delicious.

The restaurant itself is a really neat building. They have big garage doors that open to make the indoor seating area seem like an outdoor area. We didn't really look around too much but they had some old motors and fishing paraphernalia on the walls. My only complaint is that all the chairs are plastic deck chairs and can feel sort of flimsy.

The people at Snoopy's are great too. We walked in and the guy behind the counter just started talking with us and was very personable. He joked with us and generally just made the entire experience fun from the beginning. Rather than simply just calling out your name over the PA to pick up your food they would add some flair to it and made it fun.

We came relatively early (about 5:15) and we were definitely the youngest folks in there but I'm sure it can get packed when it isn't a Wednesday night. The place seemed very local and not like your typical tourist trap.

Overall, the dining experience was a good one. The restaurant and staff were amazing and contributed to it and the food was good. The only thing holding it back was that 6 shrimp did not seem like enough food and the lack of flavor on said shrimp. If you are in the area and just want a place to kick back, relax, and enjoy some good food, Snoopy's is the place to go.

Snoopy's has been a longtime favorite in my boyfriend's family, and last weekend we were finally in the area at an hour that wasn't insanely crowded. The shrimp we had were fresh and tasty, everything else we saw people having looked great too. Sitting on the deck with a beer was relaxing and fun.

It gets REALLY busy though, so if you go by there at typical dining hours be prepared to stand in line for awhile!

Snoopy's has the best fried seafood. And excellent boiled shrimp. You order when you come in (cash only!) and they yell your name when your food is ready. There are plenty of tables outside on the deck so you can watch the sailboats go by.

Be careful driving down here at night - the water surrounds the restaurants and parking lot on both sides and you could easily drive into the water :)

We stumbled upon Snoopy's Pier on our way out of town and were glad we did.  I had said that I wanted to have some awesome fried fish, shrimp, and oysters and that was exactly what I got.  The batter has a great flavor and the sauces are yummy too.  I'm a fan of both cocktail and tartar sauce, and I was impressed with both.  This place is right on the water, so you get a great view of the channel, boats, and seagulls while you eat.  My husband and I shared the combination platter along with some crab-stuffed jalapenos and had more than enough food.  Even with it being extremely busy and right at lunch, our food came out fairly quickly.

I definitely see us making regular stops at Snoopy's on future trips out of Port A.

I would have never tried this place if it wasn't for Yelp, but wow, what a find.

On our vacation on Padre Island we actually ate here twice, and both times everything was excellent.  I don't recall all what we had, but I do remember that it was all good.

The location is a bit odd to get too, but still very cool.  One day we came here straight from the beach, it didn't matter that we were all sandy and in beachwear, heck we fit right in.  The indoor/outdoor seating area is awesome, best way to enjoy seafood is in a place like this.  Of course, watch out that a seagull doesn't steal your hushpuppies!

As others have said, this place only takes cash, but they do have an ATM on hand.

Of course, we also had to pay a visit to Scoopy's for ice cream before we left as well.

The food is fried to a crispy goodness.  I recommend eating outside by the water.  It's not a Port A vacation unless you start it at Snoopy's.

Had a great time here. Had a few beers and an order of boiled shrimp while enjoying a Texas summer sunset.

The menu was extensive, the service was fast, the staff pleasant and the food was good. In a town with so many fried food options (including Snoopy's) it was nice to find some boiled shrimp on the menu.

Another place that my family and I frequent on our annual trip to Port Aransas.  I don't think we've ever had a bad experience here.  You walk in and place your order, pay (cash only, dudes and dudettes) and then they call your name.  I remember going here back in middle school and using the name "kiwi" for my order... what fun that you could use an alias and feel like a spy for a day!  lol

I always get the fried shrimp (although, now upon reading other reviews, I'll have to try the boiled shrimp as well!) with extra tartar sauce YUM!

Not a bad place under the bridge for fresh seafood.  I'd come back just because of its location and ambiance when you're in Corpus Christi and you want to feel like you're "by the ocean."

Most everything is fried - I would have appreciated more grilled or steamed options.  Went here with a bunch of friends and I had the combo platter to try a little bit of the fish, shrimp and oysters - everything tasted really fresh.  All the fried plates come with fries, but you can substitute hush puppies or curly fries if you want.
