We stumbled upon Snoopy's Pier on our way out of town and were glad we did.  I had said that I wanted to have some awesome fried fish, shrimp, and oysters and that was exactly what I got.  The batter has a great flavor and the sauces are yummy too.  I'm a fan of both cocktail and tartar sauce, and I was impressed with both.  This place is right on the water, so you get a great view of the channel, boats, and seagulls while you eat.  My husband and I shared the combination platter along with some crab-stuffed jalapenos and had more than enough food.  Even with it being extremely busy and right at lunch, our food came out fairly quickly.

I definitely see us making regular stops at Snoopy's on future trips out of Port A.

Snoopy's is a Corpus "tradition" and it certainly has good food, a great location with pretty views, and all in all I harbor (haha) good feelings towards it.

However, for the reasons above I'm sad to say that I have a beef with it and don't know if I'd recommend it to a friend any more...the last time I was there the service was slow as crap and the waitstaff acted like they could have cared less if I fell over into the channel and got eaten by seagulls.

There! I said it because no one else would. Did I magically go on the day of a local graduation? Are you betting I'll come off 10 hours of sun and beer and not care? Was the entire waitstaff on their time of the month?

Just because you're one of the the only restaurants in Corpus that has some character doesn't mean you shouldn't show some, too. Why does everything that could be good in Corpus have to be a pile? Haha! Ahhh at least I have my puns.

I don't get it... at all.

The food is greasy, and kinda bland.

The only non fried fish was labeled as "broiled" but looked more like "boiled"

The only non seafood option is a burger that is only slightly above fast food quality.

The tables were dirty.

A total let down.

I go to snoopys to sit out on the patio and eat their fried oysters, which I love. Some stuff is overpriced, you have to know what to get.

Had a great time here. Had a few beers and an order of boiled shrimp while enjoying a Texas summer sunset.

The menu was extensive, the service was fast, the staff pleasant and the food was good. In a town with so many fried food options (including Snoopy's) it was nice to find some boiled shrimp on the menu.

I'm not really sure what the hype is all about either.  Other than the fireplace being lit during the winter, the food is just...fried.  Fried fried fried.  Not much to it.

Great atmosphere, but that's it.

If you are in the mood for "fried-everything", this is the place.

Located not to far from Port A, Snoopy's has become a must-stop tradition for our family as we head for a beach weekend.  Be prepared for crowds and it's a cash only deal.  The decks are lovely at sunset and the fish swimming below give the kids something to do while waiting for their artery-clogging delights.

Avoid the neighboring Scoopy's "ice cream parlor" if you can....

Great food last night. Loved the fish and chips and the great view.  They made us feel like "locals" and this definitely isn't just a tourist trap.

Driving to Snoopy's from Port Aransas has been a tradition for our family on our beach vacations, for as long as I can remember. There's nothing better than a cold beer and a pound of boiled shrimp. It is so great. And getting a quick scoop of ice cream at Scoopy's to top it all off makes it perfect.

It just wouldn't be a trip to the beach without Snoopy's!

I don't get the hype. The atmosphere here gives it two stars but the food is very plain. I would come out have some ice cream or a drink at night during summer but I would never come here to eat. Everything is fried but that is what I expected. So I guess my complaint then is that its a bland fry. Eh I would go with a group and not complain but would never suggest eating here.

To island residents, this is one of the local staples. It's owned and run by the cool Butler family. Daddy Butler goes trolling in the mornings to catch the stuff that goes on the menu later in the day. How awesome is that?

The prices are reasonable, the view is fantastic, the rustic feel is authentic and perfect, you can drive your boat up to the pier, dock, walk inside and eat, then head home full, and catch a tan outside while enjoying the whole experience.

There's also Scoopy's next door, if you're in the mood for ice cream to round off the meal or even you out after a beer or 3.

I suggest... well, anything really. I've never had anything bad at Snoopy's. When I go home to visit the folks, a trip to Snoopy's makes everything feel all right in the world. Take your friends if you're a local, or visit this fairly famous spot if you're an out-of-towner.

P.S. Ignore the dumb map. It's not where the Yelp arrow says it is. It's actually almost directly under the bridge on the island side of the JFK Causeway. To get there, take the very first exit when coming onto the island--THE FIRST ONE before you even pass the Padre Island sign and swordfish statue. It's ok, just turn around and catch it on the way back, if you missed it. Either exit, the one coming onto the island or leaving the island will take you under the bridge, then make your way to the tall restaurants on the left side. I just edited it in Google, but the change may not be updated yet. If it's accurate, give me a holler so I can remove this warning.

P.S.S. the shrimp, flounder are awesome.

P.S.S.S. Don't feed the sea gulls, or chance being skinned by the staff. No body likes being dive-bombed and hounded (and possibly shit on) by the Hitchcock BIRDS scene that will happen within moments of a single fry being thrown. They come out of nowhere and en masse. Don't act like a damn tourist. That AIN'T COOL.

Snoopy's has been a longtime favorite in my boyfriend's family, and last weekend we were finally in the area at an hour that wasn't insanely crowded. The shrimp we had were fresh and tasty, everything else we saw people having looked great too. Sitting on the deck with a beer was relaxing and fun.

It gets REALLY busy though, so if you go by there at typical dining hours be prepared to stand in line for awhile!

I would have never tried this place if it wasn't for Yelp, but wow, what a find.

On our vacation on Padre Island we actually ate here twice, and both times everything was excellent.  I don't recall all what we had, but I do remember that it was all good.

The location is a bit odd to get too, but still very cool.  One day we came here straight from the beach, it didn't matter that we were all sandy and in beachwear, heck we fit right in.  The indoor/outdoor seating area is awesome, best way to enjoy seafood is in a place like this.  Of course, watch out that a seagull doesn't steal your hushpuppies!

As others have said, this place only takes cash, but they do have an ATM on hand.

Of course, we also had to pay a visit to Scoopy's for ice cream before we left as well.

Whenever I make a trip to Corpus, there's just NO negotiating!  I HAVE to go to Snoopy's.  The fish... the fries... the fried okra... the hush puppies... and of course I gotta sit on the bar stools that face Laguna Madre!

I always get excited whenever I cross that bridge and see 'SNOOPY'S' written in huge white letters across the top of the restaurant.  Sometimes I try to get here a little before or after the lunch or dinner crowd since this place has a tendency to get packed (even in the winter months!)

And whenever I get done eating, I just gotta grab a few crackers and feed the fish that swim out from under the bridge...

Me and some friends decided to try Snoopy's on the way back home from Port Aransas.  I had the Fried Shrimp platter which was $11 and included 6 shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. The shrimp were lightly breaded and were fresh but it seemed to lack a distinct flavor. Maybe I'm just used to shrimp scampi or something that is more seasoning intensive but it just seemed kind of bland. The hush puppies were excellent. Normally I don't eat hush puppies and almost gave them away but I tried them and they were delicious.

The restaurant itself is a really neat building. They have big garage doors that open to make the indoor seating area seem like an outdoor area. We didn't really look around too much but they had some old motors and fishing paraphernalia on the walls. My only complaint is that all the chairs are plastic deck chairs and can feel sort of flimsy.

The people at Snoopy's are great too. We walked in and the guy behind the counter just started talking with us and was very personable. He joked with us and generally just made the entire experience fun from the beginning. Rather than simply just calling out your name over the PA to pick up your food they would add some flair to it and made it fun.

We came relatively early (about 5:15) and we were definitely the youngest folks in there but I'm sure it can get packed when it isn't a Wednesday night. The place seemed very local and not like your typical tourist trap.

Overall, the dining experience was a good one. The restaurant and staff were amazing and contributed to it and the food was good. The only thing holding it back was that 6 shrimp did not seem like enough food and the lack of flavor on said shrimp. If you are in the area and just want a place to kick back, relax, and enjoy some good food, Snoopy's is the place to go.

By far the best fried fish I've tried ever!!!!  First of all, Snoopy's uses really good fish (mahi mahi the time I went) compared to a lot of other fish and chip places that use cheaper quality fish like polluck.  Then on top of their really good quality fish, their batter is ever so light that you don't feel like you're sticking a thick fried batter in your mouth instead of actual fish.

I also got fried oysters with my lunch and I think the total came to something around $10.  Great deal too!!!!!

Nice outdoor seating to enjoy the warm weather.  To negate seagulls and other birds from grabbing your delicious fish and chips, they have these clear strings/wire so you can eat your meal without disruption.  So simple yet so helpful.

Another place that my family and I frequent on our annual trip to Port Aransas.  I don't think we've ever had a bad experience here.  You walk in and place your order, pay (cash only, dudes and dudettes) and then they call your name.  I remember going here back in middle school and using the name "kiwi" for my order... what fun that you could use an alias and feel like a spy for a day!  lol

I always get the fried shrimp (although, now upon reading other reviews, I'll have to try the boiled shrimp as well!) with extra tartar sauce YUM!

We come here once or twice a year.  The Half Basket is the perfect size - fried shrimp, oysters, and fish (2 of each) with fries and a small portion of cole slaw.  The tartar sauce is great.  What's different about their fried fish is that the pieces are thicker than average, so the fish isn't overwhelmed by the batter.

Friendly staff and nice cold beer.  They've expanded the place over the last 3-4 years.  It can get crowded but it's worth the wait.

Snoopy's has the best fried seafood. And excellent boiled shrimp. You order when you come in (cash only!) and they yell your name when your food is ready. There are plenty of tables outside on the deck so you can watch the sailboats go by.

Be careful driving down here at night - the water surrounds the restaurants and parking lot on both sides and you could easily drive into the water :)

This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants, and we try to visit Snoopy's every time we're on a trip to Corpus Christi or Port Aransas.  My favorite meal is the shrimp and rice.  Snoopy's can get some really fresh shrimp and there's nothing better than simply-prepared really fresh shrimp, a cold beer, and a table on a deck a few feet above the water.  It's cash-only (ATM on site) and you order at a counter and pick up the food when your name is called.  Great place to bring kids or larger groups.

Along with the other people around here, it is a definate MUST STOP BY when I go down to the Corpus area. Ya you can get some good seafood here in Austin, but I miss Snoopys. Austin just doesn't have anything that compares to Snoopys. Makes me wish that Scotty can just beam me from Austin to Snoopys, with enough time to chow down, and then beam me back. PLus they have that ice cream parlor next door for the perfect dessert afterwards.

Don't miss Snoopy's Pier. When it comes to fried seafood it just doesn't get any better - the oysters, shrimp, and fish are outstanding. I would suggest going before or after regular lunch and dinner hours if you don't want a looong wait in line. One other tip - You'll definitely want to sit on the outside pier in the summer and enjoy the great view as Snoopy's has no air conditioning.

If you are ever in the area you MUST make a stop at Snoopy's....oh how I took for granted having this in my back yard my whole life.  Now I live in Chicago and you just don't get anything better than this!  Everything is good here, fried fish, fried oysters, shrimp and rice, everything else!!  The best hushpuppies and great outdoor seating.  If you are on your boat you can dock outside. Nothing like an ice cold beer and fresh fish after a day on the beach.

Whenever my dad & I get skunked fishing for the day, we head to Snoopy's.  I am not the biggest fan of fried fish or fried seafood (I love the fresh variety), but their fish is fried so delicately, and of course it is fresh, so it really is a nice treat.  We will usually order 1 order of fish & chips & another order of boiled shrimp w/ all the fixings- cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, lemons--its darn good.  No where else I would rather have fried fish.  It is right on the water too.  I believe you need to have cash, but they have an ATM on site.

Great place for seafood. When you visit Snoopy's, bring cash because they don't take plastic. Snoopy's is very casual with indoor and outdoor seating on the water. There's no wait staff here. You walk in, place your order at the counter and wait for them to call your name. After your meal, you'll also have to visit Scoopy's next door for ice cream.

Once upon a time, I woke up one morning, desperately needed a fish sandwich and thus, drove from Austin to Snoopy's because only a Snoopy's fish sandwich would do.  Ooooh their hush puppies how my mouth waters just thinking about it.  After arriving at Snoopy's promptly in time for lunch I lounged about on the beach for a bit before returning home.  Yes.  I drove 8 hours round-trip to eat at Snoopy's.  That's how awesome it is.
