Best Peanut Brittle I've ever had!
I also took a very long time deciding on which chocolates to get and they waited very patiently while I looked at every single variety. They even told me about the cheaper packaging option since it was clear I was going to eat the chocolates right there in the store. They also have a really great candy kitchen behind large glass walls so you can see how they make all their own candy.
Overall great food, great service, and great ambiance. And how could I not support a family owned business.
Oh holy hot tamale. One of the best things to do in Folsom is stroll along Sutter Street with home made Snooks ice cream in one hand and a bag of yummy truffles in the other.
This family run establishment makes their goodies on site, where you can actually see the candy making process first hand. If you're a dork like me, you might find this as amusing. Or slightly exciting. Mmmm...chocolate.
They're all really friendly here, and well staffed for the holiday's. If you're looking for a tasty treat and you just happen to be in Folsom for some odd reason, I couldn't recommend this more!
Great place to find yummy gifts for the chocolate lovers in your life. Don't forget the caramel popcorn, too! You can go online and order custom gift baskets.
The service was excellent. The candy is extremely tasty and varied and it makes an outstanding gift. Located in historic Folsom.
Snooks sells homemade chocolates and caramels, sells dryers ice cream (made into yummy sundaes with in house caramel, fudge etc) and has a small case of jelly belly candies. You must try the peanut brittle
, peanut butter cups and toffee.
The peanut brittle is ridiculous! Dark chocolate orange cremes... super. Their white chocolate is even awesome, not weird and oily like many candies I've had. Love the honeycomb.. toffee... the employees are all super nice which doesn't hurt either!
The Candies: Excellent. I've come back here to upgrade my 1 star review because up until recently, I've never had their candies - I've only had their ice cream. Wow, wow and wow! My wife went bezerk in this store. Go ahead, let your cardiologist know ahead of time that you'll be coating your arteries with plaque and then indulge yourself.
The Ice Cream: I was expecting home made, slow churned, original, all natural, authentic, etc. to match the look/feel of Historic Old Folsom. I was dissapointed and a lot of people responded to my review telling me how I was wrong I am but the point is still not addressed: It's Dryers ice cream and for all it's worth, a 1.5 mile drive up the hill and you can score Ride Aid (Thrifty) Ice Cream which is a thousand times better. Ok, I'm off my soapbox.
The chocolate factory: The owner has written me on a couple of occasions to correct me and I haven't had a chance to update my review until now. Yes - they make chocolate/caramel/taffy there. No, you won't always get to see 'em make it but it's the real deal. I've been in this store at least two dozen times and never once seen anyone working back there making it. Just sayin'.
I've since moved and no longer have access to Snooks. I'd love to mail order some of this piece of heaven. Really it's one of the things I miss about Folsom the most.
Cool clean candy store. Lots of dreyers icecream and homemade chocolates and caramels. There were a ton of tempting goodies, like peanut butter cups, chocolate marshmallow bars, nut clusters, pecans rolls, cashew brittle, cracker jack popcorn and peanut brittle. Free samples on the counter as well. There were also quite a few sour treats, and classic candies too. My hubby had a scoop of the peanut butter cup icecream, which was the color of peanut butter with a ribbon of it running through the icecream and small cups too. The hubby gave it 2 thumbs up. I had a large chocolate chip shake and it was way too much for me. It was 99% icecream and so thick I had to eat it with a spoon. I only ate about half of it. They offered to put whip cream on top but I said no thanks. This was a nice cool shop to stop in after browsing hot dusty antique stores.
i only get to folsom every couple of years for the antique street fair but snooks is the only classic really worth checking out.
the candies and ice cream are oh sooo sweet but nothing will ever compare to the brittle. i thought i went to heaven the first time i had the peanut brittle as a child but the cashew brittle is so outrageously scrumptious.
I had them do the favours for my wedding at the Lake Natoma Inn just down the street. They were great! The price was a little more than what I wanted to spend originally, but I was basically paying for convenience. They delivered the favours at 9am (They don't open until 10am) so I didn't have to worry about a thing. The owner was so nice and really helpful and friendly. There were only two great vendors who I worked with from my wedding, and these guys were one of them!!

Love this place. I am in heaven! Grabbed some caramel corn with peanuts and strolled along Sutter… Read more »
I have yet to go to the new location (down the street from the old one) but it looks fantastic and even better than the old location which I already loved so much. Freshly made candies and a TON of them, and Ice Cream galore (even peppermint for the holidays, yay!). Ask any kid that grew up in Folsom, this place is part of their childhood. Friendly service and great family tradition and history.
Amazing Chocolates.
I had a meeting in the historic folsom district and decided to walk down towards the Candy store to check it out. I was dying for some See's Scotchmallow but had been too lazy to drive up to a see's candy store...anyways i didn't see any marshmallow caramels there so i just bought the hubby some assorted chocolates and some cashew brittle (which is soooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD) and to my surprise the lady gave me a sample of a milk chocolate marshmallow caramel candy! :O (without me asking for it, i'm sooo serious). I had to run to my meeting and popped the candy in my mouth...WOWSAS it was soo good. The consistency of the chocolate is really light. I ran back after the meeting to buy a whole lb. of the caramel marshmallow chocolates (i think i ate half the bag already). Oh yeah the marshmallows are handmade too!!! I've got to make a stop there every now and then. It's totally worth it.
Limon Chiffon is like heaven!!!! I am a self proclaimed CHOCOHOLIC! As soon as my big dreamy eyes seen a chocolate store I was already inside before I parked. So as I walk in I see Tons of chocolate that is being made right in front of me. How cool is that? I go to the register and order 2 chocolate peanut butter cows, a chocolate bon bon, lemon chiffon bon bon, and an irish creme bon bon. They were all so good. Lemon chiffon was my favorite. The chocolate peanut butter cows were so yummy maybe even better then (dare I say it) a reeses! The Irish Creme had a real clean tasting finish to the silky texture. Very good. The chocolate on chocolate....well I mean can you really go wrong there? They had so many choices, I would have tried them all. I want to come back so I can. I really recommend going there for great tasting chocolate. perfection with every purchase. : )

The most incredible chocolate I've found that's made in America, better than Scharffen Berger or Ghirardelli. Gives the best Belgian chocolate I've had a run for the money! VERY nice people, I feel really good giving them my business. True artisans of chocolate. Loved the 3ft. high chocolate Santa display for Christmas. The toffee is absolutely incredible, as are all of the truffles. You will adore these chocolates.
And yes, I have actually seen them making chocolates.
