I received a hand-written apology from the merchant with an invitation to return for a complimentary haircut.
I have great respect for merchants who actually keep an eye on their reviews online.
Should I take you up on your offer to return, I will most certainly be happy to update my rating.
Kudos to you guys either way for taking the time to reach out to me.

I'm a guy that has been going to salons for haircuts for a while. I like being treated well and just… Read more »
Great place. Have been searching for a salon since moving to Chicago in summer of 2008. A little more than I am used to paying but it is worth it. The salon is clean and attractive and the haircut I recieved is stupendous. It was nice to not feel like I was at an assembly line salon.
This was a lot more than I was planning to spend on a haircut, but I guess I'm not used to the neighborhood yet. I told the stylist exactly what I wanted, and showed her pictures, and she still tried to pressure me into doing something different. I persisted and she cut it basically the way I wanted it, but I've gotten better cuts for half the price (unfortunately, those places are an hour or two away).
Maya is very good with color.
I used to use this haircutting place a lot. Now I use BoRics. But this place was awesome. Kids can get great cuts, and so can adults. I love the workers because they are nice to everyone. Go here for a great haircut!
Snip City has gone downhill a bit with the departure of the wonderful Kathy, but it is still a pretty good spot. The place is always nicely decorated and accessorized. This may seem shallow, but I figure if the salon looks good, then they can't do much damage to me and my coif. The stylists are all friendly and listen to my requests. The kids' haircuts are a bit pricy at $25 (I've started taking them to BoRic's) but other services seem in line with what's out there (my cut and blow dry is $45). They recently added manicures, but I haven't had one yet.
Snip City hair salon has been a lifesaver! This is such a mod place to get my hair done in Oak Park. Coming from L.A. its hard to find a great consistent salon with such a fun and talented stylist like Pasquale Russo. He is brilliant! And he really makes me feel at home; no pretentious air in him or the salon. With no offense to the last reviewer, but I disagree that snip city has gone downhill. Coming from the fashion industry i wouldn't be caught dead near borics! Snip city has so much more character to offer. It is for everyone who appreciates good friendships, great artwork, and perfection with hair. They are fabulous..I only wish i still lived near Oak Park! Keep up the great work Snip City!
