I've ordered from Sneaky's twice now and have yet to actually receive the order myself! (The first time, I was in another part of the office and the second time they were able to deliver way earlier when I wasn't in yet. Luckily they caught my co-worker!)
I can say that their food is quite delicious (I've tried almost everything on the menu) and super friendly email etiquette. They're honest about the right amount of food to order based on the number of people eating and have flexible delivery times. My favorite items are probably the ribs and the mac and cheese. The ribs are well cooked and just the right amount of spiciness. The mac and cheese is certainly cheesy and a good accompaniment to the ribs. I wouldn't say it's the best BBQ in the world, but I'd definitely order again!
I ordered Sneaky's for a work lunch for about 20 people. They delivered on time (& the food was warm as requested). The presentation wasn't amazing (but that was expected). I thought the ribs were good and the mac & cheese was quite popular. Overall, I think the food is good but I agree that the pulled pork was too vinegary.
It's probably better than other BBQ places in SF, but it wasn't the best BBQ ever.
We love their BBQ but had an issue when we ordered about a month ago. we had ordered for a Sunday night deliver, but as the appointed hour of expectation came and passed, there was no BBQ. This unfortunately went a long way towards ruining the evening we had planned. The issue was exacerbated by us having absolutely no way to contact them and find out what was going on - were they running late, had forgotten us, had serious issues, etc.?
It turns out that due to an error on sneaky's part, they had scheduled us for delivery on Monday instead of Sunday. They offered us a free meal as recompense and have since begun including a contact phone number in all of their notifications (so the customer can call if something seems to be amiss).
We were happy that they so effectively addressed the issue, because their BBQ is so good. The ribs are the highlight for us, meaty and just perfect. The chicken has a wonderful flavour but at least the one time we ordered it was ever so slightly dry (could be due to overlong microwaving on our part?) and the brisket is wonderful (if fatty). Sides were also delicious. Also, the sauce is very tasty but vinegary (so make sure you like that sort of thing or have an alternative on hand).
Now that there is a way to contact them in case of emergency, I absolutely don't hesitate to recommend them.
Some of the best ribs hands down in the city, that is if you like spicy sauce and the meat is so tender fall off the bone licking your fingers good. Can't wait to try some of there other things on the menu.
We were impressed with how good reheated BBQ could be. The ribs and pork were both fantastic.
As others have written, the BBQ sauce is vinegar-based and spicy. I liked it, but the Mrs. did not. Fortunately, she had a bottle of Memphis Minnie's mustard sauce on hand for the occasion.
My only constructive criticism is with the sides. The sweet potatoes were pretty good but could have used a bit more flavor. The mac and cheese was a little dry; maybe they aren't best reheated in the microwave. Nonetheless, we felt both sides were better than those at Memphis Minnie's, whose sides we do not care for at all.
We both found ourselves wishing they sold beans. We have yet to find a good side of beans at any BBQ place in SF.
Delivery was on time and friendly.
We will order again.
These guys are amazing and so is the BBQ!! I ordered the ribs, because the pulled pork was gone already...but the ribs were amazing!! These guys have it down. The sauce was fantastic, would've liked extra sauce for dipping.
I also spaced out and wasn't home when I asked them to deliver, and they were nice enough to come back! Thanks so much for that!!!!! Can't wait to order again
Absolutely amazing.
I ordered the pulled pork, full rack of ribs, and collared greens.
I ordered on Friday night and they delivered on Monday after working with my schedule.
I had the pulled pork first and I'm sad to say that I didn't try the meat without the sauce, since I reheated it in a pot and needed the sauce to keep the meat from drying out.
It was delicious! The sauce is spicy, which is good but it's a bit too vinegar-y for my taste. The store bought buns that came with them were a bit on the small side, but I just went to Trader Joe's and got hamburger buns for the leftovers. For $9 for a dinner and a lunch, it's not bad at all!
Even better were the ribs, though. They're cut in half so I cooked them separately for two separate meals. They reheat brilliantly at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. I added a water bath to the oven to keep the meat hydrated, but I'm not sure whether that's necessary.
The rub on the ribs is more than enough flavor! Spicy and sweet and wonderful. The sauce comes on the side and is the same as for the pulled pork, so I didn't use it.
I've never tasted such wonder reheated ribs before. The meat was still tender, pulled off easily, and wasn't overcooked at all. I ate it so ravenously that I didn't notice sauce on my cheek, nose, lips, and all over my hands. It was really that good.
For the price of $19 for a full rack of ribs with such a wonderful rub, how can you possibly refuse it?
The only reason I'm docking one star is for the unremarkable sides. I've never had collared greens and they're alright but it's just filler. Save yourself the $4.
Overall, if you're ordering meat from these guys, you can't possibly go wrong. Absolutely amazing food for an awesome price!!
They had to deliver from Portero Hill all the way to the Sunset, so I gave them a tip that brought the price up to $40. That's $36 without the collared greens for pulled pork dinner, pulled pork lunch, and two rib dinners.

WHOOOA! This bbq is AWESOME!!!
I tried the ribs, pulled pork, mac and cheese and coleslaw...super double triple yum in my tummy! Very good! My doggie day care lady ordered Sneaky's for all her clients to try and it was definitely a crowd pleaser and everyone was going back for seconds, thirds, fourths.... I'll be placing my own order soon!
I recently used Sneaky's to cater my fleet week party -- and boy was I NOT disappointed. Pat is great. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He worked with me while my party grew from 30 to 50 and even came early to set everything up for me. The food is AWESOME. I served the pull pork, ribs, coleslaw, greens and mac-cheese. (ps - the ribs were great, regardless of what other comments said). Everyone loved everything. Very YUMMY. I will most defintely use them again. If it is for dinner or for a party of 50, you won't go wrong with Sneaky's.
Ordered everything on the menu. Delivered on time.
1 pint of pulled pork - $9 .......... Heavy vinegar,, not sure what quality pork was used but certainly a low grade.... a bit " gamey " Not a fan of this one.
1 rack of baby-back ribs - $19 ..........Tasty, but don't think it was anything special, but ok. Good spice combo not as tender as it should have been.
1 pint of Sneakys macaroni & cheese - $5 ........ Macaroni a bit over cooked, not enough cheese
1/2 pint of cole slaw - $3 ....... Fresh stuff (cabbage etc.) thin sauce, it was OK.
1/2 pint of collard greens - $4 (NEW!) ..... Liked it, not over cooked
1 pint of sweet potato souffle - $6 (NEW!) ...... Kinda like sweet potato / mashed potatoes......could use more spice.
Kudo's for an "underground" internet based BBQ delivery service
Don't think they would survive as a "brick & mortar" (anyone remember that term?) restaurant... But, for the food, delivered to your door from underground BBQ rebels (or are they?).....kinda great..
Straight up underground,
Top shelf Carolina "Q",
Soul food for the Bay.
I ordered the Carolina pulled pork, and they delivered it to my workplace right at lunchtime!
Its especially good with the vinegary sauce, so make sure you ask for some extra.
My roommates and I ordered BBQ this weekend and it was AWESOME!!!!! We got the pulled pork, ribs and cole slaw and we should have ordered a lot more... the pulled pork was smokey, the ribs where spicy and the cole slaw was tasty. I plan on ordering much more next time around :)
Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me tell you, my first job in the working world was busing tables, then washing dishes, then cooking BBQ in Kansas at Boardroom BBQ. I know BBQ, we even had a sauce of the month club.
Once I discovered Sneaky's BBQ I was hooked. It's the best BBQ I've had since I've left Kansas and that was 9 years ago.
Thank you Sneaky Pat and Sneaky Ben for your pirate BBQ.
Work group placed an order again yesterday and I decided to give it another try after hearing they added spareribs. I managed to get a rack that was pretty good, not to dried out, probably b/c it was a big on the fatty side, but all and all better than last time around. Pork was the same, ok, nothing special, not my preferred style. The reason i'm not upping my review is that i seemed to luck out with the spare ribs. There were two good half-racks (mine and one other) and the rest were no better than the baby-backs from last time. I didn't realize it until a couple co-workers commented, then I took and look and was pretty surprised. I seldmon do ribs. They're good fresh off the smoker, but I don't think they reheat worth a damn. Anyway, the only other update I have is that pictures were posted to the sneaky's blog showing their smokers, so I guess it's not done in an oven :)

BBQ baby back ribs, really? Stuff was OK, but not even in the neighborhood of 5-star. Pork was South… Read more »
We had Sneaky's cater a small work event. We had ribs, chicken, collard greens, mac N cheese, coleslaw, and the sweet potato souffle. Everything was really tasty. The delivery service was super convenient, and the owners are very accommodating. Apparently, they don't usually do chicken as part of their typical menu. We had a few non-beef/non-pork eaters. They made room in their smokers for a whole chicken based on our situation.
I challenge you to find better BBQ in San Francisco, for any price. And then get it delivered to your door by the nicest guy on the planet. Not possible.
I like to act like I know more about BBQ than I do. Turns out, not many people know a whole lot about the topic so it's typically quite easy to bullshit. Every now and then I'll run across someone who rightly puts me in my place. Last Wednesday's lunch delivery was a schooling that I'll gladly accept. I went with 3 pints of the pulled pork. As an expert, I can tell you that that is the true measure of this particular discipline. The pig delivery came to the office which was pretty sweet unto itself. The downside to the work delivery was that my remaining fellow employees have some real puppy dog eyes in these hard economic times. So instead of eating pulled pork by myself in bed for the next 3 days as I had planned, I dolled out sammies to the hungry masses. We danced, we cried, it was just like the good times again. I felt like jesus.
Oh, and if you're lucky, they have this delivery guy named Ben, I think. Total dreamboat.
This is what BBQ is suppose to be!! I drove all way from Santa Cruz to get this BBQ. The trip was worth it ! Spicy Carolina style. These guys should open a shop but then there'd be a line down the street and it wouldn't be so sneaky. I'd give it 6 stars but Yelp only allows 5.
Sneaky's is real BBQ. These guys pulled into my auto shop delivering the most awesome BBQ. The ribs are perfect! Supper spicy tender but firm good texture, and Nice smoke flavor. Cole slaw is creamy good side to cool you out from those spicy ribs. Guys, please stay Sneaky!
I know a few things about real BBQ and this is the good stuff. I got a half rack, a pint of pulled pork and some mac and cheese for the kids. Should have gone with a full rack or maybe two full racks- half rack is just not enough when it's this good! The pulled pork is outstanding. I don't know if they make their own sauce, but that was pretty excellent too. The fact that it's delivered to you just sends it all right over the top.
thank you thank you thank you to Sneaky's for ending my search for *actual* bbq in SF, it's as if other places JUST DON'T GET IT. it's good that you do get it, and I will be getting it too, every week, if I can.
Highly recommend the ribs - falling off the bone goodness with a smokey flavor. You can tell many hours of labor and love went into each rack. It's hard not to kill em by the 12. The pulled pork is also delish, and is equally difficult to leave any leftovers.
My only hope is that one day, they will offer pork ribs in addition to the baby-back one sthey currently offer. I suppose I could order Sneaky's in the meantime...
This is the best BBQ I've ever tasted. Period.
Collards were new this week per the blog. Cooked perfectly. Slaw was great, and the ribs... man, oh man the ribs. Unreal!
Love the vinegar-heavy sauce with the pulled pork.
Great food, can't wait for more delivery days (or a storefront)!
Best ribs I've ever had in SF... and well, about as good as anywhere else in the US that serves great ribs.
To be fair, I've just joined Yelp for the sole purpose of heaping praise on Sneaky's. This past weekend the Sneaky's crew provisioned a small get-together of mine with ribs, pulled pork, slaw, and macaroni-and-cheese. Amidst the universe of invitees, fully 70% grew up in Alabama. Accordingly, the victuals were subject to a panel of educated barbecue palates.
Everyone at the party (including my vegetarian fiance, who heroically limited herself to the side-dishes) agreed that Sneaky's was a staggering success. The pork is tender and perfectly flavored with the proper note of smoke amidst the innate, porcine succulence. The side-dishes were carefully prepared with quality ingredients and obvious attention to detail, and the sauce is a triumph.
I commend the Sneaky's boys to anyone searching for proper barbecue. The crew members are a pleasure; the food is a revelation, and they deliver to your home. Genius!
