Some friends and I have been to this place a few times to grab a quick bite for lunch.

Anytime we need to break away from the office and have a grilled burger fast, but not your traditional "fast-food" this is where we like to go.

Today I had a Jalapeño Cheeseburger w/ Bacon and it was REALLY GOOD.

Their service has always been great!

If you get a chance to talk to Char, she can give you good recommendations on many of their menu items. She's always met us with a smile and great spirits every time we come in.

Some people might complain about the smoke, but you do have to keep in mind that it is a Bar and Grille in Reno.

They do also offer a larger, non-smoking section for many of their guests to enjoy their meals smoke-free.

If you're in the neighborhood and want a friendly atmosphere with great service and a good menu with a variety of traditional American cuisine, don't dismiss this place before giving it a try for yourself!

So been here a few times won't eat any food anymore. Just watched the "bigger cook" touch raw bacon didn't wash his hands. Went to the bar grabbed the spout and a bottle of tequila for his drink. Spread raw meat everywhere and touched and prepared everyone else's food. For the love of God kitchen hygiene. Such a disappointment washoe health department needs to come visit.

I've been ordering food here on occasion for many years now. The place recently changed it's name to "The Pylon". The service has gone to crap the last few times I've been there. Today was the last straw. I called to place a takeout order and was asked to wait. The phone was placed on the counter, where it sat for 10 minutes. I got to listen to the bartender yap with the clientele until I was disconnected. I was unable to connect on repeated attempts to call back. I drove over to complete my order and was greeted with the site of the bartender chatting with a customer and the phone still off the hook. I tried to place my order and was informed (in a rude fashion) that the items I wanted weren't available. I promptly drove to one of their food competitors (The Aloha Shack) and was treated promptly and courteously.

Love the renovations that were done. I had the fish and chips and they were fantastic. Fish was nice and crisp and it wasn't greasy at all.

Great bar for locals. Good food when the bigger cook cooks. New ownership. Don't listen to the Karens of Yelp. Lol. The new owners are amazing and own several sports bars in Reno. Highly recommend this place for locals of the North Valleys. If you're a sensitive city folk, well might not be your cup of tea. And if you're a crappy person you'll get crappy service.

The worst bar experience ever. They want to charge $5 per beer unless you spend $20 then you get 1 free beer(definitely not Vegas). Ordered food didn't get my entire order and the fries were 3 days old or the grease they were cooked in were. Terrible service from bartenders unless you are a regular. Guess the Hanger bar has to be the place to go in northern Reno. Sharon the bartender is rude and gives nothing but excuses instead of customer service. Stay away you have been warned!

Being that I just recently reviewed a competitor it seemed appropriate I reviewed here as well (in no small part because this quickly became the back up; let's bail out of here plan).

Much like the other place, it is a bit of a dive bar and it is worth saying, there is nothing wrong with a dive bar. Many a great one, has been conceived as a result of a dive bar; be it in the parking lot or after a ride home, and no I can't name names but I'm sure there are at least a few.

Offering a good variety of burgers and beers this place has a bit to offer. More than just a Coors or Bud, they have Mammoth brewing and several selections from the bottle so it is anyone's beer game here. Also close to a dozen burger offerings, several sandwiches (pay attention to the spelling here, if they were that good, well you should know) and they're also decent. From the Apps part of the menu we've partaken of the tater skins and the nachos (sans meat options), they're fair enough but only just that, fair; along the lines of ball park or fuel station style nacho.

Barkeep and the cooks are friendly and personable and never had a complaint in that arena. Bottom line is, North Valleys does not have a lot to offer and if your hankering for a night out this is an alright way to go. Would I say it is a go to or top notch, of course not; but it'll do in a pinch and not at all in a bad way. They'll take care of you just fine here, but again, it's just fine.

      Nachos ala ordinäire.
      'tater skins ala Americana.

Definitely a dive bar. I award my stars based on the experience for what it is. I'm not comparing this to some 5 star restaurant in town. But even as far as dive bars go, this is pretty divey.

Came here after a day of working on the house for a cheap and quick dinner. It was neither of those things. Service was pretty slow to place and receive drink orders, we had to find the bartender to place our dinner orders and trying to pay and leave we also had to go find and request a check.

Most of us got chicken wings or tenders. None were particularly delicious. The tenders had a ton of breeding, the mild sauce was very very salty, and the temp was Luke warm.

The one who had the chef salad was pleasantly surprised though at both the size and amount of dressing they give.

Wish they had a flowing tide out here. Not sure we will be back as it's always just blah.

Ordered fries for take out. Never ever eaten here but the food looked delish in the pics. The fries were completely soggy soaking wet in oil. The insides were mushy yet crunchy with the taste of potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly. The fries were a dark brown discoloration which doesn't resemble anything in the website pics! Tosssed those away and never going back.

Looking for a local place to play some pool. They have 2 tables, only 1 worth playing on. They don't seem to care about those that want to play as the quality is very poor.
