This location seems to move with a little more speed than the Pearl St. location, but it seems like the sandwiches aren't as good. Maybe not enough grime yet...

I thinks its required to be a total burnout to work here...

Last time I went it took them 2 mistakes to get my friend's sandwich right.  Between the 1st try and the second try, after we notified them of the mistake, nothing happened.  Here is what went down:

She returned the wrong sandwich and advised them of the mistake.  They said they'd make another one.  The sandwich station was promptly abandoned, all the workers disappeared , then, about 15 minutes later they all reappeared through the back door and put on "Dark Side of the Moon" at top volume, and began chugging soda out of the fountain.
My friend waited another ten minutes (at this point I had finished my eggplant parm, which was quite good) before she said something.

Blank Stare.

"oooohhhh duuuuuude....I like toootaly forgot about that huh huh huh"

Also, the place is pretty gross.  If you go there, get takeout.

day 22 my quest for rice continues...

after some more driving i find a place called Sam's Chinese and vietmanese food.
http://static.px.yelp....
just based on the name alone i was willing to try it. but i looked inside, no one was there, the price wasn't that cheap and i didn't want a repeat of the garbage i ate earlier today so i had to pass. maybe if it had said sam's korean, then maybe. just maybe...

in either case i wanted something cheap and light. wendy's was there but no i needed real food. quiznos was across the street so i was getting into my car when i spotted snarfs.

it didn't even look like a restaurant from far away. but as i got closer i saw a sign that had 3 people enjoying their sandwiches and it said something about great taste so i was compelled.

and when i got in there i saw 3 guys working there. 3 ppl on the sign, 3 people inside. i will call them the 3 amigos. the inside is big and colorful. i can tell this is one of those spots thats trying to stand out. with colors and funny pictures and catch phrases all over.

ive been to so many service places now, over 600. most of the time the servers look like they hate their life or like zombies. these 3 amigos were young and in good mood and looked like they were having fun. totally made my dining experience. were friendly and chatted with them. even took a candid pic of them making my sammich.
http://static.px.yelp....

they set a fun and friendly vibe and the italian sammich was one so far the best thing i've had in boulder since i have arrived. and i wouldn't be surprised if it remains that way as this was one of my best dining experiences of my trip for reasons beyond i can give in this review. i even told the guys about yelp and they were very curious about it and were going to go home and check it out. i am like a regular yelp johnny appleseed. planting seeds and watching it grow, wait someone said i do that with girls. thats another review all together...

i dunno how my review will benefit those guys but maybe their boss will see it and give them a raise.

good job good sandwich. this totally made up for the crappy food i had for breakfast. snarf on guys snarf on.

but for now my quest for rice continues...

Snarf's is a favorite of Boulder, or so everyone tells me.

I've been here a few times, and since I'm a vegetarian I suppose my view will be different than most people's; the Snarf vegetarian selection is somewhat minimal, consisting of three sandwiches. Still, these they do pretty well.

The 5 inch is $5, 7 inch one is $6, while the 12 inch was $9...so the 7 is solid.

I got the vegetarian today, and what Snarf excels in is their bread. I personally like Half Fast on the hill better, but hands down the bread here is better: toasted correctly.

This location on Arapahoe I like better, since it has parking and has some nicely colored walls...minus the ceiling which is right out of a mechanic shop. Seriously guys! Clean the ceiling!

So thats about it: good sandwiches with ok pricing. The selection is minimal compared to Half Fast however, so I put this as my 2nd string.

The menu and ingredients are good indeed, but the overall experience at Snarf's leaves a lot to be desired. I've been here 4 times, and *never* have they gotten my order right. I'm not ordering anything crazy, just a sandwich with a couple things removed, and they write it down correctly, but then they just make the standard sandwich.

Around lunchtime (like after 11:45am), you better not be in a hurry. There's a long line and it moves SLOW. Even ordering at 11:30am you'll probably wait a long while for your food. I've waited 20+ minutes. There's no ambience to speak of, parking is bad... overall, simply not worth it.

That's a pity, too, because Snarf's *could* be great. The food is quite tasty after I do some surgery to remove ingredients I told them not to put on. Maybe during totally non-peak hours they're better.

I know I've had other reviews that have started this same way but holy moly, true story:  Totally hungering on a...let's say....Wednesday night, came into snarfs and they...totally got the job done  !   Gave me some treats with no fuss at all and even a bag of chips !  I had the portobello sandwhichy and it was...so good that I'm....writing about it now.  The folks behind the counter were defeathering chickens or sumthin' and then telling me about it...and I don't think that is the most professional, but still I would tolerate it in place of not diggin' their digs.

Snarf indeed! It's an apt description of the method in which these tasty sandwiches are consumed. Though the menu is fairly typical of any deli, it's the freshness and flavor that makes these sandwiches so mouth-watering. Unlike, the skimpy little sandwiches you would get at Subway, these babys are piled high. Plus, if you left room, you can get a scoop of ice cream to finish you're meal on a sweet note. =)

Btw, Boulder Weekly readers voted Snarf's the best sandwich shop in town for 2006.
