I'm going to agree with Jessica C. on this.  They have good salads, and great variety, but their prices are large.  Of course their portions are pretty large too.  Overall I'd go back and only order the half portion rather than the full.

half snap with romaine, chick peas, LOTS of mushrooms, tomato, cucumber, carrot, artichoke hearts, corn, red onion, and fat free raspberry vinaigrette=perfection.

a year or two ago, when it was $5 even for a half-snap, this place would have gotten five stars. but now...$7 for a half snap? really? true, the economy sucks right now. true, snappy is in high demand. true, more and more snappy-type salad restaurants are opening up. but still!

however, i will say that i tried for a while to boycott snappy and their inflated heads/prices. i went almost everywhere: greenz, salad creations, eatzis, whole foods, dallas city market...but whether it was a missing dressing or absent crucial topping, none of the places quite measured up. so despite its silly price, i will say that i am most definitely a fan of snappy salads. the only thing that gets me is their closing at 3pm on sundays...i can't remember how many times i have pulled into the parking lot only to find a sad locked door in front of a lonely salad bar.

oh, and to those who are interested--if you're like my tiny little mom and have an appetite the size of a javelina, try a soup to accompany your meal. they're nearly all good; she especially raves about the potato one. and most days, the bread's not bad either.

4 for Cleanliness
3 for Taste
2 for Price

...While the concept is great for this cute little health joint, I think the price is way too much.  It appears there are a lot of salad options...A LOT....but I ended up just craving a southwestern chicken wrap when I visited.  Nothing spectacular---fresh ingredients but mediocre taste.

May go back and actually try a salad =)

I love Snappy Salads. I get a salad to-go almost everyday at the Preston/Forest location.  The ingredients are fresh and many are organic which is why the prices are higher than you would expect for a salad.
I recommend this place to everyone and honestly, where else can you go for an organic, big, wonderful salad?

My wife and I had lunch at the Northpark Mall location and loved it. I had a Mexican, she had a custom. The toppings were all abundant, fresh, and of excellent quality. We've been dieting lately and this was a perfect fit for us, a healthy, tasty meal.  We'll definitely be eating there again and hitting the other locations when we're in the area.

I had trouble rating this one.  Every time I go, I love the food.  The salads are wonderful, and the atmosphere even goads me into trying new flavors with my rabbit food.  I always enjoy my meal and I always leave happy.  A five!  Right?

But wait.  Most of my visits occur around lunch time.  If you go to Snappy Salads between 11 and 2, expect to wait in line behind every single North Dallas resident.  When trying to squeeze in a salad on a one-hour lunchbreak, I suddenly understood the wisdom of Yogi Berra: "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."

They're in a tough spot, because the owners seem intent on leasing small spaces for an idea that is in high demand.  I haven't made it to the Northpark location yet -- has anyone seen what it's like during a lunch rush?  I can only imagine.  Twice the space would help, but at the cost of atmosphere.  After all, we don't want it to turn into just another Souper Salad.

Snappy Salads has a good atmosphere, good ingredients, and a business plan that capitalizes both on the organic craze and the Subway/Chipotle assembly-line strategy.  It works, so long as you don't mind paying a premium for a good salad that definitely isn't snappy.

Don't get me wrong.  My salad was great!  I had a small bowl of fresh, organic spinach with purple onions, jalapenos, red and green bell peppers, broccoli, and the fat-free raspberry vinaigrette.  Thank God I wasn't planning on kissing anybody, huh?

When I got to the "protein" section, I asked for grilled chicken and avocado.  Remember this is the small salad.  A tiny bit of chicken, but half an avocado was fine with me.  The total?  $8.50.  Say what!?!?!  I hurried home to dig through the salad in search of the gold nugget that I knew would be lurking in there.  Needless to say, it couldn't be found.

For vegetarians, this is one of the best deals around!  Order a Full-Snap-sized salad for about $7.  Load it with up to 15 toppings (unsure if it was 15 but the number of toppings included was definitely enough).  Protein and certain expensive toppings are $2.50 more each (like shrimp, chicken, portobellos and avocados).  Have them put the dressing on the side.

If you loaded the thing with enough toppings, you could eat about half with bread.  Then, save the rest for later!

Best of all, the ingredients are so fresh!!  http://www.snappysalad...

If I had a half of a star, I would give Snappy Salads the 3.5 rating.  As you walk in this restaurant is very clean with long picnic tables throughout.  You start in a cafeteria type line picking out your fresh (often organic) produce.  There is a huge selection of toppings and ingredients for your made to order salad.  The substantial toppings include the standard chicken to seafood to portobellos.  My salad looked fantastic until I got to the register.  What?!  Ten bucks for this little salad???  Oh well...it was still good and healthy and sometimes worth the price.

oh snappy salads.  i love this place.

my favorite salad is the "sweet & smokey";   have a pretty healthy appetite for a girl but the half snap is always plenty for me.  some complain about the prices but to buy all of these ingredients (all fresh, and a huge selection) to make a salad myself would cost me triple...who wants to do that anyway?

also, the owners are very "green" and all to-go containers and utensils are made from renewable/biodegradable materials.

thinking about adding on that lemon cookie for $1?  do it, they are really good.
