Yup, this is called the Super Pages (which is a gay ass name) but!
I went to see here DMB (Dave Matthews Band) on the lawn and just last night went to see Kanye West seated.
So, yes, duh seated seats are better and you see the huge tv screens.
This review is not just about this place, but uh, how much Kanye West's concert last night was just so fucking awesome! Everyone should at least go see Kanye once in their lives! He just has such a non-stop energy.
Oh yeah, one little thing that sucked is that the parking was a bitch. They should have signs saying things like "extra parking" and make it NOT a one way street.

Yeah, It's the Superpages.com Center now (HORRIBLE NAME) but who cares. I rarely go to big concerts like this... but Radiohead was playing so I had to go.

Nobody was regulating traffic AT ALL. It was horrible. It took me an hour and a half to get in and two hours to get out. If they would get ONE police officer out on the street half-assing the regulation of traffic it would have taken a lot less time. JUST ONE. But apparantly congesting the streets of downtown Dallas is more cost effective.

Boose is way too expencive, except the margaritas looked huge. I just didn't feel like standing in line for an hour to spend $11 on ONE drink. I am not a beer drinker... but I almost bought the $8 bottle of Bud Light out of sheer despiration of thurst and need for alcohol... but my cheap side won.

We sat on the lawn, which was kind of nice and relaxing since we were in the lazy section of the concert and most of the people were sitting until the very last of the show. Acoustics are terrible though. And you can't see much.

Also, I think they stole my friends drivers licence.

But Radioheads show was amazing. I wish it was at a better place though.

July 9, 2006 was last time I was at Smirnoff, I had reserved seats in the middle section of the venue.  Free tickets I had managed to fanagle out of my former employer's hands.  I had the ex, aka TheThug, bum a ride to my office from the neighbors so we only had to drive one car home after the concert.  It was a late night and I had what can only be described as a CONTACT HIGH from all the smoke in the air.  Although, I guess this was to be expected when the musical acts were Lynyrd Skynyrd and 3 Doors Down.

Just a few weeks shy of two years later, I was back at Smirnoff (aka Super Pages Center) for the Rascal Flatts concert.  I was with Jenn, Tracey, Rebecca and JenR.  We staked out our spot in what can only be described as an obstructed view location due to the ropes being used to corral the herd.

*Note to Self... don't ever sit near the aisle again as people will walk on top of you to go get more drinks... or teenagers run over your blankets to go hug the latest teeny-bopper to walk by that OMG, we haven't seen you in 25 hours.*

I didn't see any of Taylor Swift as I just wasn't in the mood to stand for 4 hours straight.  I waited until Rascal Flatts started to stand up and I still couldn't see.  I felt bad for most of my group as I'm a good 4 inches taller than all but one of my cohorts.  If I couldn't see, I know they couldn't.

Getting out of this arena proved a royal pain in the butt.  I'm thinking next time... Air Conditioned Venues with Assigned Seats.

I'll admit it - I'm not an open-air venue kind of girl. I'll go if whomever i want to see happens to be playing, but I'd so much rather be somewhere indoors with some AC - especially in the summer time. Secondly - if I do end up at an open air venue I almost always have reserved seats - closer to the front the better, but on this occasion I decided to go with the flow and switch it all up. We had a group of people going and we didn't want to have to try and find reserved seats together (such a pain!) so we just picked up some tickets for lawn seats.

We decided to splurge for the preferred parking - which was worth it I think - except all that walking we saved by paying for better parking was totally wasted since the line to get it was allllllllllll the way down the street and around the corner of the lot we parked it - and said line also happened to be blocking the entrance to the lot - so we had the job of running over some toes on the way to park the truck.

The lawn was pretty crowded when we got there - over an hour before the show was supposed to start! We found a decent spot and spread out our blankets and made ourselves at home. I'll admit there was something nice about sitting around on the grass on a blanket with your friends..... until I started noticing the bugs... and the idiot people that kept walking on my blanket and almost spilling my drink. This problem was compounded when the show started and everyone was standing. Um - I'm short y'all I can't see when we're all standing up on a grassy hill.

Concessions were outrageous but that's to be expected.

Overall - this place was amazing for people watching - I can't even begin to explain, but I'd rather be either a)inside or b) in a reserved seat.

We went to see Rascal Flatts...I do enjoy people watching and this was the PERFECT PLACE for that!  They had apparently oversold the lawn seating (or that's what I'm assuming since they had a "rope" put up and then kept moving it back) in order to fit more people in.  Okay...who exactly can afford to drink when a margarita is $13.00 and beer is $9.00??  I just stuck with water instead.  I do not deal well with rude people so when they keep stepping on our blankets, etc. and specifically stepped on my purse and cell phone and can't bother to say excuse me...I get a tad pissy.  I start saying a little louder than my normal voice...can you say excuse me?  I don't like having alcohol sloshed on me...especially when I'm not drinking.  And I guess I can safely say I've become old because I don't understand the whole sundress and boots thing or wearing a skirt that doesn't cover a THING when you sit down...not to mention the whole fake eyelash thing!  As a parent of a teenager, I promptly asked my son and some of his friends about it...although you think they'd jump at the chance to talk about some of this stuff....they were of the same opinion as me.  My one really comment to others looking at concerts at this venue...be respectful of other people's things.  Come on...the golden rule after all is do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.  If you don't want people stepping all over your stuff...don't step on other people's stuff!  The sad thing is I don't remember it being this bad when my son and I went years ago...or when my mother and I went even more years ago.  Time definitely changes things!

I hate the Starplex (it will always be the Starplex, just like Hurricane Harbor will always be Wet 'n' Wild and the ballpark will always be the Rangers Stadium) with an apathetic vengeance (ah, oxymoron).

Don't bother getting a seat unless you're in the first 8 rows or the pit.  Or if you really don't want to see how sexy Rivers Coumo is up close, the lawn is tolerable but likely populated with copulating couples and half naked teens.  Of course, some people enjoy these things....

Acoustics are indeed horrible.

Plan to wait to get out of the parking lot a good 2 hours after the show.

Absolutely WORST place to see a show on the planet.  Its like a venue that a city will just throw up in a day for a punk tour, only worse.  Thank GAWD for Nokia theater.

Speaking of throw up, that may be the only pro to this.  Should you feel the need, doing so anywhere in the place is acceptable, thus reinforcing my belief that this venue can pass for a gigantic toilet any day.

Why do they keep changing the name of this damn place?  In TN the similar venue was Starwood.  I moved here and it was Starplex.  Then Smirnoff.  Now it is superpages.com center which you will know because it is plastered everywhere.  Parking has gone up to $15 but you can park in the sketchy neighborhood in people's front yards...although...errr...sketchy.  It is pretty fun though to get a group of people together to sit on the lawn and watch a show...as long as there are no storms or tornados or whatever.  If it is a band you really like I would get seats though.  The beer is freakin $11 for 24 ounces (or $9 if you get the draft instead of the can??  weird).  I sneak in a flask of booze and then buy cokes which are more like $6 or $7...BARGAIN! hehe  Overall not too shabby though, it is a good place to see some bands when you just really want to hang out and chill.

Terrrrrible area of Dallas.
You're going to be parking in someone's yard even if you get there five hours early.
The set up of the stage is just bad. Their acoustics are horrendous and I've never even had to deal with lawn seats.

Outside venues in Texas are always a bad idea.

Ok place to see a show in Dallas. I wish there was a better place to house big shows, but there isn't really. The parking is ok, the cops don't troll the lot too much so you can pre-party with some beers and friends out on your tailgate jammin the tunes. The prices of beer inside are kind of ridiculous so thats why you should pre-party at your car(after parking of course). The setup is auditorium seats surrounding a small pit(not sure but I think it depends on the show whether there is pit room or not) and then lawn seats. Beware in the summertime of the lawn seats because there isn't much shade. There is also food for sale which I think is great such as burgers, dogs etc...The bathrooms aren't terrible, because they aren't port-o-potties. Overall ok place but not my favorite. Dallas needs a better outdoor venue.

I've seen countless shows here. And i've had a great time at every event...

BUT... it's not getting 5 stars because:
Parking sucks, i refuse to park in someone yard... even if it's only 5 bucks.
It's in one of Dallas's worst neighborhoods.
If you're on the lawn, the acoustics SUCK... not even worth going to.
I wish they'd stop using ticketmaster... their fees are ridiculoid.

A good time though, a damn good time.
