I went here once for breakfast. The guy messed my order up, took WAY too long to make it. I said I'd never go there for breakfast ever again. Then one day, I just forgot I said that and went in. I ordered sausage, egg, cheese on a roll PLATTER (w/ home fries and toast). The guy takes 7 minutes to make the sandwich, hands it to me. "I said platter."
"Oh, you should have said so, I make it for you now." he said. It makes me mad just writing this...I waited, it sucked, it wasn't air conditioned. When I got to work, the eggs were boring and bland. The home fries were a joke. The "toast" was really just a roll that was slightly burnt. That guy really pissed me off.
DON'T EVER GO HERE FOR BREAKFAST!
Lunch, the buffet is ok. The salmon, for 7th Ave. midtown is acceptable.
I give this place two stars because the lunch is ok.
They make decent deli sandwiches. They also have a typical NYC hot food bar which is fascinating/gross/delicious-looking. They have a really creepy upstairs eating area which is more like an upstairs "sleeping area" for homeless schizophrenics. If you're in the Times Square area (may the Lord have mercy on your soul) and you want a decent turkey sandwich while talking to a despondent, half-asleep homeless man head on down to Smilers!!
Decent deli, but good flowers. Nice selection and they tend to last.
