Review from Nikhil S.
Los Angeles, CA
I first went to Perris for a tandem jump on Memorial Day. One of my wuss friends did a tandem skydive a week earlier and I thought that if he could do it, so could I. I ended up enjoying the tandem jump so much that I signed up for and did another tandem jump two weeks later (dragged another friend with me, who was scared all the way up until they left the plane - then he had a blast, screaming and shouting like a little girl that got a barbie doll). Perris gives a discounted price for a second tandem dive, which is well worth it (must be used within a year's time). If you are going for a tandem dive, then book the earliest time (I think it is 8AM or so). That way you will be on the first load and be done in an hour or so. Arrive half an hour to an hour before your appointment time, so that you have enough time to sign your life away.
Following my two tandem dives, I went in for my AFF Level I dive on June 25th. The first jump course is around 8 hours long with some tunnel time and by the end of the course I was wondering if I had made a mistake going in for the AFF course. The winds picked up around 4 pm (post the course) and we thought we might not get to jump. Secretly I was thrilled 'coz that meant I could just drive back to LA and fuggedabout the whole jump thingy. Alas it was not to be- the winds died a half hour later and I was made to don the jumpsuit. I sort of felt like a sacrificial lamb as I was led towards the plane by my two jump instructors, Bret and Benjamin (the most awesome people in the world). They made me feel very comfortable about the jump and I felt that if my chute did not open, then atleast I would have spent my last few minutes on earth (well in the air) with some awesome guys.
BTW I specifically asked for Karen to be my videographer - she ROCKS. She takes the most amazing pics and her video and camera angles are great. I had her for my first tandem jump and insisted on her for my AFF video too. If you can't get Karen, get Ben Summers. He is really good too and a great guy.
Well the skydive was wonderful and the parachute ride down to earth was amazing too. All in all, Perris is a great place with wonderful staff and amazing instructors. Check this place out - you will not be disappointed.
Here is the video of the AFF dive. Skip to 3:00 to avoid the chit-chat and see the dive.

This is a GREAT place to jump. The location, staff, and facilities are solid. My 3-star review is for the video that was purchased AND never delivered. MAYBE I was just one of those very, very rare exceptions where the camera fails. This can happen, we have all had technical difficulties. *NOT* refunding my $100 was unacceptable for your failed video.
Either refund the money or offer another jump with another video. That is not too much to ask...right? Neither was done for me.
It was not the end of the world, but I did want to warn others that this may happen to you and they will not refund you $.
Better than death I realize as then there is nothing to refund and nobody really cares about the video! :-)

Amazing! One of the biggest thrills and experiences you will ever have. Highly recommend it! We got there at 1130 and did the Sensory Overload package. Wind tunnel was fun and made the actual skydiving seem easier. Recommend getting the Pro video package, the video and pictures turned out awesome. Much thanks to my instructor Jeremie and photographer Paul, they were great! Staff were very friendly as well. Got food there (steak sandwich and chicken Caesar wrap) afterwards and it was pretty good as well.

My boyfriend and I decided to jump for the first time, and I decided Perris would be the place. It took us about an hour to get there, but the directions were fairly easy and we got there in record time.
We were greeted by a friendly staff, except there was one lady at the front that seemed a little condescending because my boyfriend didn't bring his id (in France this isn't a big deal). She was patient as he called overseas in hopes for his mom to find some sort of identification and e-mailed it over.
Everything went smoothly with paperwork and the wait was fine considering we didn't make a reservation and it was after noon on a Saturday. The only thing we didn't enjoy was that the lady would say "25 minutes and you are up" then 10 minutes later, we would get a different time that didn't match up. She explained that the time changes on the screen due to the planes. We waited maybe a little over two hours.
Our time was up, and everyone was very friendly. I was a little worried because my bf received plenty of instructions and my instructor only told me the basics. However, everyone told me how experienced Piya was and I had nothing to worry about.
Everyone was right! I got a little nervous but held it inside. It was time for the jump, and it didn't even feel like jumping. We were floating and we landed perfectly. It really isn't as bad as people hype it up to be! I received the basic video package and also a free t-shirt.
My boyfriend unfortunately was bruised pretty bad on his arm due to the harness and he complained his testicles were pushed up against pretty hard. However, the staff was very friendly to us and offered him alcohol wipes.
I would definitely recommend going to Perris for your first jump. I believe the lady at the front desk said over 39 years, everyone returned safely on a tandem jump. -

From the minute I walked in I was greeted and instructed. The service at check in was fast and thorough. I only waited about 2-3 hours. I was told of the wait. There were shops to check out, I could view the people coming training and those landing. Not to mention the great pulled pork sandwich! A MUST TRY!
My instructor was Ken Lewis he was friendly and enthusiastic, He brought all the excitement back that had been clouded from the wait. I purchased the Pro video and also meet the camera man (Pat Newman), He was also very positive and funny. The entire time the instructor made me feel safe and gave me instructions and answered my concerns.
The jump itself was amazing! Unforgettable, It was my first time. And for the first second I felt a rush of fear, but soon I was enjoying myself.
After the jump my instructor gave further instructions and asked how I felt and how I enjoyed myself. After I was out of the gear I was able to watch the video immediately on the computers they have, not even a minute later I received my video. On my way out I saw my instructor one more time and again he thanked me and welcomed me to come back. I'm sure it is there job to do so, but in the way they say it and treat you that makes the difference, and I would absolutely return and recommend my friends!!!!! -
Review from Sheree P.
I was so committed to jumping off a plane, I actually came here.....twice.
The first time we came here, we were notified that the wind was too big and not safe for parachuting. As much as we were bummed about the long drive to get there and the energy spent psyching myself up so I won't piss myself mid-air, and the overall anticipation and excitement of the jump now implode into nothingness, I suppose our lives are more important. Word of advice for the newbies: Call to check the wind condition before you come here!!
So two weeks later, we came back and ready for action. Signed up for tandem, straight up and let the guy do all the work. First things first, we were given a waiver. *Dun Dun Duuunnnnn* sign your soul away. Then some brief safety and diving posture and landing instructions. Then you get suited up with the altitude meter and goggles. They pair you with your diving guide, and it is off to the plane we go. Once in air, your diving guide would strap you two together (my guy friend said he felt somewhat manhandled, I think he's more scared that he's about to get butt-f*ed by another dude than he is with jumping off a plane).
I'm quite a dare devil when it comes to roller coaster rides and things of adrenalin satisfaction. But as I was standing at the edge of that plane 13500ft above ground, I was a bit nervous (okay, okay, I was going to puke). When the guy counted off "3 - 2 - 1, look up"...we are out that door. I now know why they ask you to look up instead of looking down; everything disappears in front of your eyes so quickly; the plane had became a little speck in a fraction of second. HOLY MOTHER LOAD BLOODY SHIT!
Of course, I didn't really scream that...I'm not a screamer; don't scream on rides, don't scream in the air. My diving guide commented that I didn't make a single sound during the jump, he thought I had passed out. Pssshh, I am no weakling... after the initial shock, I was quite calm and enjoying myself free falling in the air. Everything was impossibly still and peaceful, like you're blended into the air that sounds you. Had I not been wearing the altitude meter on my wrist reminding me of the speed at which we're descending towards the ground, I would have thought that we are not moving at all.
After about 40 seconds of free falling, the diving guide pulled the chute and then it is UP in the air we go. Realizing that I'm not some manic panic freak out case, my guide let me have a little fun by allowing me to control the chute. We went left, then right, then did a little circle thing in the air. It was a lot of fun, but the fun must end when we're approaching ground zero. Touch down; safe landing and thus ends my flying experience.
Everyone had a really great time and wouldn't mind doing it again. Passing by a group of experienced divers dressed in Elvis gear as we're leaving marked a sweet note to end our day of high altitude fun.Listed in: Fitness according to Sheree

Your experience here will be greatly determined by your instructor. Mine was in a really bad mood. It was my first jump so I was fairly nervous and he mumbled something about standing a certain way and I said "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you--" he snapped "I SAID STAND HERE! NOW!" So I obliged. I'm certainly not going to argue with someone who's in charge of my life, though I seriously thought about asking for another instructor. I absolutely should have as things only got worse from there. I apologized and said I couldn't hear him very well and he was very short with me the entire time. I didn't feel comfortable at all, something you should be if you're about to jump out of a plane. I looked around and other instructors were very friendly and my wife's instructor was going through all the steps with her and making her feel great. So why did I get the grumpy one? He'd disappear for several minutes at a time and any time I tried starting up some small talk to try and break the ice he gave one-liner answers and left it at that. On top of that, we'd both asked for the Basic video package and my camera "accidentally" didn't record, so I don't have a video of my jump, that I will probably never do again. I'm really sorry if the instructor is having a bad day, but don't take it out on the customer.
The actual jump was pretty fun but again, no conversation at all whenever I tried small talk. It was really off-putting. And after all that, I still tipped the guy because, you know, I wasn't dead at the end of it. But still...
Like I said, my wife was very happy with her experience and most folks seem to be very happy with their instructors, so your mileage may vary. -

This is one of the top schools in the US due to its size. Don't let the waiver fool you. This school doesn't cut corners when it comes to your safety. The risk is there, but jumping tandem is the safest way to make your first jump.
This is also one of the few dropzones with their own wind tunnel on site http://www.skydiveperr..., which is why I flew out there from Texas (and to jump.. but you get the idea). If you want to try something different visit Perris Valley Indoor Wind-tunnel.
Also, if you're a roaming jumper, Perris Valley has it's own hostel. Ask manifest since I don't think they advertise that. The Bombshelter turns out some pretty good eats and has a full bar as well. In short, this place is like a disney park for adults. -

I came here on my b-day a couple of years ago.
I had so much fun.
The staff was friendly and made me feel so comfortable.
They took the time to make us laugh and actually feel like we were among friends.
I was super excited and super nervous when it was time to walk off that plane, but surprisingly enough it wasn't that bad..
I can't describe the actual feeling - but what I can tell you is that it feels better than a rollercoaster, you don't get that feeling of what you just ate coming back up to your throat. I think that's the best description of what I felt.
I paid like $250 (i think, don't quote me - it was a while back & I can't remember the exact price) but it included the tandem jump and the video.
Check it out - the experience of a lifetime, you won't regret it! -

"I can not believe you did that!!! I thought you were afraid of butterflies, how did you manage to jump out of a plane!!???"
What my friend said when she found out I went skydiving. Yes, I'm afraid of butterflies, ladybugs, swirly slides at the playground (they shock you!) and ROLLER COASTERS. I hate roller coasters. I can barely survive on Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm... who would have known I would go skydiving!
It was the nicest day today with the most beautiful weather I have seen in months. Lucky us. When we arrived, we were taken into a room to watch a video on the two video packages they offered: basic or pro. Definitely get pro if you're a first time jumper. A little expensive but you get a $20 discount if you have a student, senior, military, or police id. :) I got the PRO - so worth it. Afterwards, we were weighed (still can't give blood; I'm tiny!), and given a waiver to fill out. Lots and lots to sign and then you're recorded on camera reading part of the waiver! Kinda scary!
My friend and I waited for about 45 minutes to jump after we did all the paperwork, walking around and watching other people land, which made me even more nervous! Then! We were able to suit up and meet our instructors! My instructor, Keith, was awesome! So nice and helpful. I got to wear a pink and purple suit, while everyone wore blue, because I'm tiny. Yeah, it's for small people. I'm that lucky.
After Keith talked through what was gonna happen, we took the death walk over to the plane and I met my cameraman, Nick. He's pretty awesome too. Boarded the plane; the plane ride up was actually not that bad. I thought I was gonna get airsick, but nope! I can't really describe what happened after that. It was just pure... amazing-ness. If that's a word. I didn't get that killer stomach feeling like I thought I would!! Just oh my god, holy damn amazing.
I JUMPED OUT OF A FREAKING PLANE. After the parachute pulled (I GOT TO PULL IT OMG), that's where it kinda stopped being fun. The view was AMAZING (I use that word a lot), and Keith pointed out all the points of interest, but I was getting SO DIZZY. The landing was awesome! Fun fun fun all around. :) Nick, thanks for capturing all the photos and video! Although, I looked like a freak in all of them. Couldn't do much with my hands... I TRIED, I JUST COULDN'T MOVE THEM. I was doing some weird-ass things with my hands; probably could have gotten shot for them. So I guess I wasn't too much fun to capture on photo or video, but thanks for trying! :) And Keith, thanks for being so awesome and not letting me die like I asked, before we jumped :)
Sadly though, there was an accident there today; my condolences to the skydivers friends and families. But overall it was an amazing (there I go again) experience and a big thanks to Keith and Nick and the rest of the staff. Definitely remember to tip your skydiver instructor and your cameraman; they deserve it (unless they were a jerk). :) -

Awesome sky diving experience. I arrived at skydive Perris by myself and ended up meeting a random friendly group of people. My skydiving appointment was at 10am but didn't end up skydiving until around 1pm. While I waited I went to the restaurant they have there. Bought a drink and Sandwhich. At the restaurant they have a jukebox so I put some music on while chatting and eating with the people I met. When we were getting ready to skydive we were all excited and the staff was very friendly. After we landed, We all received a free T-shirt. I payed for the video of my skydiving experience. I will come back to Skydive Perris because they also have an indoor skydive that I want my sister to try since she wouldn't do the actual outside skydive.

I went here on a cloudy day to celebrate a birthday. I was a bit skeptical about whether or not I'd get to jump or not, considering it was foggy and cloudy.
They have their own private parking lot and it's pretty straight forward about finding the main office. They have you sign some paperwork, review safety guidelines, then send you on your way to wait your turn.
When registering online, they let you know that it could take up to 3-4 hours before you can jump - as there are lots of people that could be waiting before you. On the upside, there is a cafe and shop on the premises, so you can eat or shop a little while you wait.
I got there around 10, finished paperwork and so forth around 11. The sun started to peek through the clouds around noon, and by 1PM, I was already suited up! My instructor was pretty informative and friendly! You can't say the staff was bad because everyone was smile to smile when I was there.
Once in the plane, it's all about conquering your fear and having an exhilarating time.
Plus, I got a free t-shirt. I love free stuff :) -

Skydive Perris has the biggest skydiving dropzone on the west coast! 13,000 feet!
Skydive Perris has an elite staff that are super cool and ready to get you safely through what could be your first jump.
The Experience:
Freefall is not the "roller coaster drop" feeling most people expect it would be. It is a comfortable sensation of floating with a slight pressure of air against your body. After you reach the proper altitude you pull your parachute cord and then you have control of the direction of your canopy! By taking the controls in each hand, one steers the parachute by pulling on one control. To turn left, simply pull down the left control. To stop the turn, simply return the control to its original position.
I was having fun swinging around in mid air, just tasting the fresh sky and the clouds taste REALLY good!
If you want to experience many of the same sensations of freefall without making a parachute jump, visit the wind tunnel or "skydiving simulator" that Skydive Perris has, not many other skydive places have one!
After your dive, you can lounge at the bar or the pool with super cool people who like to get major altitude without any attitude!
Pricing is right for the safe experience of a lifetime!Listed in: Group Fun!, Get Smashed!, Best place to skydive in the…

Skydiving meets resort. Come to Perris Valley and eat a great BBQ at The Bombshelter, relax in the outdoor pool, watch some amazing shows...oh yeah, and skydive if you feel like it.
Throw your stress from that last midterm right out the door with you...from 12,500 feet in the air. Or go the day before that big final for some much needed relaxation. After all, if you can handle falling at 120MPH, you can handle a 2 hour exam. And if there's one thing Aerospace Engineering has taught me, it's that there's no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane." -
Review from Kim D.
I spent the day before my wedding contemplating my death.
I had suggested that The Caveman and I tempt fate one more time and allow the cosmos to reveal to us whether or not we were truly meant to be husband and wife... or just two splatter marks on the ground.
After googling our local skydiving options in Southern California, we chose http://www.skydiveperr... - largely because of the mention they made on their website about being one of the few skydiving schools to actually REQUIRE drug testing from their staff. Secondly: because of the 'luxury resort setting and amenities' listed at their Perris location.
We paid for our jump and were promptly seated in a small office and given a thick sheaf of legal paperwork so that we could state that we understood that we could not hold this place liable for any injury or death that occured on the premesis. The VHS legal waiver video c. 1989 featured one of the designers of the tandem harness that we'd be wearing; it was particularly surreal because he was seated in front of a 'legal library' backdrop, wearing a suit, but he looked like one of the guys from ZZ Top, minus the sunglasses.
So here's a summary of the issues I grappled with before agreeing to jump out of the plane:
* The harness technology is not FAA approved.
* I can't sue PVS because they don't have insurance.
* Even if they carried insurance, I couldn't sue them for ANY injury or death that occurs on their property.
* If I drown in their pool, I release them from liability.
* If I slip, fall and crack my head open, I release them from liability.
* If I drink contaminated water from their drinking fountain and die of cholera, I release them from liability.
* Oh, yeah - and all that jumping out of the plane stuff - yep: I release them from all liability.
I did hesitate a few times when checking and initialing all of those boxes - I actually asked The Caveman, "Should I call my life insurance policy and see if it would be negated by me signing this document?" Kind of a buzz kill.
But hell, yeah, I signed that puppy, and off we went! I swore I was going to wear a Depends under the flight suit, because I am actually terrified of heights, and we were going to be jumping from like, 13,000 feet.
We met our instructors; mine was a lanky Dane who had a constant smirk on his face; Caveman's was a former Thai para-jumper, special forces dude and both of them had like, 5,000 jumps under their belts. We got geared up and all of a sudden my throat was PARCHED and my hands were clammy.
Then, I figured: if I'm going to die today, I'd prefer to go out with a cute Danish guy strapped on my back I didn't feel like I was free-falling - it was more like GEESH it's windy: my gums were dry and I couldn't close my mouth. That's why I'm grinning like an idiot in all of my free-fall pictures - it was unavoidable. I had expected my stomach to drop out - like it does on roller coasters or on the dragon swing? But no - once you get over the visual trip of hanging out of a plane and somebody strapped to you counting to 3 before you launch yourself out the door... Oddly, you don't feel like you're falling.
Definintely worth the experience. I would recommend the wind tunnel option for a similar and less expensive yee-haa. But definitetely sign the waivers saying you accept the possibility of a lawsuit-free death... BEFORE you actually die. Cross that off your to-do list in life.
Post haste, you can get some grub in the chow hall, and throw hall back some beers to relax. You can't drink BEFORE you jump; but afterwards you can apparently drink like a fish. They'll even play the video of your jump on the big screen so that you can puff up your chest and feel like you did something amazingly brave.
Overall, they are very professional and credentialed; it's a repeater. The legal waiver process and signing all of that crap was a lot more frightening than the actual jump... and if you get anxious, it's certainly worth the anticipation buzz.
We wil alwas remember the adrenaline rush and the gorgeous views... which, coincidentally, occured on the day we almost died before our wedding.Listed in: Things That Make My Parents…, La La Land

Review from Christie X.

I conquered one of my biggest fears on Sunday - I jumped out of a plane at 13,000 feet! I know, crazy right? IT WAS THE BEST THING I'VE DONE SO FAR IN LIFE (besides Europe). I have to admit that if my gfs didn't buy me a gift certificate two years ago, I probably wouldn't have done it. But they did and I couldn't let their well earned $$$ go to waste.
Of course I was scared, it's the only time I've actually thought about my own mortality. To be honest, sitting in that room and signing all those legal documents scared me more than the jump itself. My tandem partner, James, was super cool. He didn't coddle me, but I definitely felt safe with him on my back. I figured, "He doesn't want to die, so I don't think he'll let me die either."
It's been four days since the jump and I still don't think I've come down from that experience. Words can't capture the exhilaration, courage and FUN that I had that day. I will never forget getting suited up, wondering what is going to happen to me, the 10 minute plane ride and just that feeling of knowing - "HOLY SHIT, I'M REALLY GOING TO DO THIS." I will never forget standing on the edge of the plane and seeing CLOUDS below me. Before I could think any further, we jumped. I've never felt such intense wind or speed as I did that day. So many different thoughts were swirling in my head as I quickly descended upon Earth -
"HOLY SHIT, I'M F******* SKY-DIVING!, I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID IT! I'M REALLY F****** DOING THIS! MAN, THIS IS FAST! WHY CAN'T I CLOSE MY MOUTH?!? HOLY SHIT, THERE ARE CLOUDS ALL AROUND ME! THIS IS F****** AWESOME!"
And moments later, when he opened up the parachute and things slowed down, I caught my breath and said to myself, "I DID IT! I F***** DID IT." I don't about you other Yelpers, but for me, conquering one of my biggest fears in life was so liberating. I have NEVER been more proud of myself. I now know that the only things in life that scare me are my thoughts. Waxing down there, jumping out of a plane, being single at ahem - 31, none of it scared me more than my thoughts about doing it. For all of you that have ever "thought" about doing this, I highly recommend it. There is nothing more empowering than conquering your fears.
* Thanks again to my awesome tandem partner, James P., videographer/photographer Joe for capturing the incredible day, Heather at Perris Skydiving School for giving me that "boost" when I didn't think I could do it and Ken N. for sharing your experience with me. Pictures will be posted shortly. * -

Indoor skydiving is the bomb!!! I'm not crazy enough yet to do the real thing, so this was the best idea!
My sister has always told my mom how badly she wants to skydive. Of course my mom was averse to the idea of her precious tiny baby jumping out of a plane and potentially dying! I used to see their advertisement all the time along the 215 freeway, and I thought what better an idea than to take my sister here to get a simulated diving?
We had the best time ever! Very reasonable prices and an incredible experience all around. Discounted price after your first experience. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and fun and there is absolutely nothing I can complain about!
I'd definitely recommend you try this if you want to skydive but aren't ballsy enough to go through with it! -

I had myself a great time at Skydive Perris. I did the straight-forward tandem diving. No schooling... just got strapped to a guy who did all the work.
The people who worked there were super friendly and super outgoing. I mean, you gotta have a pretty good spirit to be jumping out of planes all day. I want to say my instructor's name was John? Aw, I feel bad that I can't definitively remember the name of the guy that pushed me out of a plane and then kept me from hitting the ground. I'm pretty sure his nickname was Monkey. He was a funny guy. Very relaxed, very nice.
Obviously the desert area of Perris is not the most gorgeous place to fly over, but I wasn't dissatisfied at all. My tandem instructor flew me through a rainbow. THROUGH A GOD DAMN RAINBOW. It's like a great moment in my life.
I probably wouldn't give the place five stars except that I still remember the way that adrenaline felt after the jump. A great surge of chemical happiness has an impact on your memory of an event, and my memory of this place, its people and my jump were amazing. (As much as my brain may have been shut off the majority of the time due to sensory overload.)
Check out their website for a video of Mandy Moore doing a jump. That's what sold my friend. He said if Mandy could do it, so could he. -

I had gone tandem skydiving once several years ago and enjoyed it. I jumped at the chance to do so again, especially for their August special of $189 per person (not including photos or video).
The jump itself was simply spectacular. My instructor, Nick, was a cool guy who spun me 'round like a whirling dervish across the skies. Simply an awesome experience and truly and readily topped my first jump which was not nearly as fun. Not even close.
The only bad thing was the longish wait prior to the jump. Other than that, all the people were nice and friendly.
Four of the five of us had really great instructors. Vicky H. didn't get a very helpful one and I was sad for her given that this was everyone else's first time out. Also, Jerry, Vicky H, & Gerald S. all got a little on the nauseated side, but I blame it on the booze from the previous night's carousing (though they'll vehemently disagree). My sis, Ivy P., joined in at the last moment, opted for the pricier package including video, and had a grand ole time! -

Yeah, I was buttf*cked from the rear by Chris, my tandem dive instructor, but he was gentle. He was a caring man and always asked me how I was doing even before we started. Although he got a bit rough when we started (jumping off the plane at 12,500 feet), he showed me a good time by spinning me around. He also let me play with the parachute. After it was over, I couldn't help but look back at my experience during the high because it was a truly memorable experience that I will never ever forget.
Yes, I was a little nauseated afterwards since we kept rocking back and forth while parachuting downwards into the earth and probably because i was looking down the whole time, in complete & utter amazement.
Ok, enough with the gay stuff.... it was a great time for $189 per person for the jump. Anyone should think about getting the video for $69 or even the $130 pro video/photo shoot (that's when they get an extra guy who will take your photo & video apart from your instructor). -

While I don't yelp much, I felt the need to yelp this place just because the experience was so incredibly fun and exhilarating. Not to mention, the entire staff was a joy to be around.
I had made a spontaneous trip to Rancho the weekend of this jump to visit my bro and an even more spontaneous split last minute decision to join my brother for skydiving. I had always wanted to do this, and for the first time the opportunity kind of landed in my lap.
This was my first time skydiving, and even though it was kind of pricey, it was well worth the money. I opted to purchase the entire video/photo coverage and I still think it's worth every penny b/c it happens so fast, it's fun to look back at the photos and video and remember what it was you spent so much money on.
While they paired me up with one of the tallest instructors there (tall next to me, I'm only 5'ft) Kenneth Gaida, (I think I know how toddlers feel when they're strapped to the chest of their parents) he was definitely one of the best ones. He was funny, kind and he was an experienced instructor. I asked him to do some spins while I was up in the air, which he happily obliged.
The person who videotaped and photographed my jump, Bundy Taylor, was also really fun to work with. He was all smiles and he captured some amazing shots. I don't think I could have had a better first time experience. It's definitely something I'd be willing to do again.
Helpful Tip: I didn't know this, but you can tip your instructor. I felt bad cause I had no cash whatsoever on me, so I had to borrow from a friend (thanks Gerald!) and tipped Kenneth a little (though I wish I had more to give him). Next time I will know to bring cash. I also should have tipped my camera man cause he did such a great job - again, lack of cash funds on me. =(
I would highly recommend Perris Valley Skydive. -

I would say that this is one of the greatest experience i've ever done, and I can't wait to do it again!
Nick Fener was my instructor, and he was the best! He made me feel very comfortable and safe! and he was hilarious. My videographer was a little quiet, i liked Lindsay (my boyfriend's videographer)better. i want to feel that adrenaline rush again!
However,I felt very rushed while i was filling out the "death" contract at the front office but other than that it was efficient.
I recommend this place! A+++ -

This is from my experience jumping on November 2006 and two days before Thanksgiving. Our prices were cheaper than usual considering that it is not busy around Thanksgiving and what not a better way to give thanks than by jumping out of a plane!
It was my friends b-day that weekend and two of my co-workers decided to come along. The place is outside the city next to some ranch-like places.
Cool thing is that when we had arrived it was about the same time that Parachutist from the Air Force were training and jumping off of planes as if it was cake. Imagine jumping out at 13,00 feet, let alone at 3,000 ft! It was intense seeing them but after piecing everything together, I knew I was in good hands.
After filling out legal paper work and giving all my rights away while being recorded ( scary moment ), it was time to suit up. Suited up and got my gear and my instructor was really funny. He had an accent and was very encouraging. I decided to bring someone along with me and it was my stuffed Kermit doll. He strapped him onto me and we made our way.
My heart pounded a bit more and more as we went higher and higher and closer to our altitude. Once we reached 13,000 feet it was time and I jumped out with my instructor. All the nervousness that I once had went away the minute I stepped out of the plane. I had the pleasure of making tricks and turns as I was free falling. Then the time came and I pulled the chute out and actually steered the parachute and landed it! The skydiving instructor was impressed to see how calm I was throughout the situation. It was a great experience and makes you feel ten feet taller and as if you can conquer anything.
The total price for the video and such came about 250? It is pricey but definitely worth it. Got my complementary shirt and certificate of my first jump. Afterwards, headed out to the local cafeteria at the location and viewed all of our recently recorded jumps.
I had made " Jump " by Van Halen as my background music and to this day when I hear that song it reminds me of jumping out of that plane.
It was an incredible experience and something that everyone must do. Staff was very helpful, funny and nice.
This experience is a bit pricey but worth every single dime.

Just went for my first dive today with the bf. They have a special going for this month (and the past few, so they may extend it again) for a $189 tandem dive. That price is valid only if you prepay. We were the only ones that booked an 8 am dive, so there was absolutely no waiting! We filled out a few papers, watched two quick videos, got geared up and introduced to our instructors and took off on the plane. By the time we were done it was 9:15 am. I'd recommend an early dive cause it's not too hot and there are less people booked then.
Other solo divers were on the plane with us. It's about a 10-15 min ride up 12500 feet. The initial acceleration of the jump is the best!
My instructor, Nick, was spinning us around and let me pull the rip cord. Even steering the canopy was fun, cause you can do some horizontal spins on your way down. The landing was very soft and I couldn't of asked for a smoother ride.
The facility is super organized and nice. The staff is also really friendly. My bf had Kenneth and he was nice, funny and an excellent instructor guiding him throughout every step.
The only negative is that the video costs $69. That's the video that the instructor has attached to his glove. There's another option to get a camera man to jump with you and capture a video that way, which of course is even more expensive.
After the whole thing, they offer you special discounts, give you a certificate for your jump and give you a free t-shirt in exchange for filling out a survey.
This was the most thrilling thing i've done yet, and now i'm thinking of something to top this! -

I lovvvvvve this place! I did the indoor skydiving adventure and have yet to do the actual thing but wow this place is so cool. My sister took me here for a birthday present and it was awesome. It's very reasonably priced and the experience you take away is priceless.
I also took my boyfriend here a year later and he loved it too. And it doesn't matter what size you are, everyone can enjoy it. My bf is 6'5'' and 240 pounds and he went up in the air as if he were as light as a feather. I also bought the dvd which is twenty bucks but every time you come they will video tape it so you just pay for the dvd the one time. I was glad I taped it too because it is a fun thing to look back on and show to your pals.
P dot S dot: Don't forget to tip your instructors! They are super cool and deserve it! -

Everyone -- everyone here was really great -- with the EXCEPTION of my tandem diver.
My diver promised he'd spin me, let me pull the parachute, etc and he did nothing. The dive itself was awesome but once we pulled the parachute (with no warning btw) it was awkward as we were parachuting down. When we landed, he ignored me. I had to ask other divers to help get my gear off and then they asked him to do it and he didn't. I took off my gear alone (not knowing what I was doing and he yelled at me when he saw it on the floor.
With the exception of my d-bag diver, Perris staff was great. The video diver was amazing ... really awesome guy. The staff was very professional and helpful. I mean it, everyone was really very cool and emphasized safety.
It was my first experience for my birthday ... I did enjoy it (at least the initial party) but I'd never go tandem again -- only solo. -

1 star for a nice facility.
1 star for decent people there.
1 star for fun there.
It would have been five stars, but my indoor instructor did not catch me while I was in the air. I landed on my side. It has been a month and my back still hurts.
Btw, do NOT purchase photos there. The people in the booth usually do not pay attention. They are controlling the wind speed and also trying to press a button to snap a photo. Pretty much of a hard task huh? Not.
I paid 38 dollars for a picture CD. I had 1/17 shots. At least they refunded my money.
I would definitely have given a five stars but my back has been killing me. Maybe if my xray results have nothing wrong, I'd edit my review. -

I used Perris Valley Skydiving at the suggestion of friends who have 200 jumps a piece. They felt this was the best and safest experiences where everything is "done by the book", and the instructors are experts.
Upon arriving I was Gung Ho for my jump. After they fill out paperwork, and weigh you in, you have a 2 hour wait which includes a video where the company's lawyer explains how you are about to sign away your rights forever lol. They word "death" comes up a lot. He even outlines that slipping on a banana peel in the parking lot qualifies as a "parachuting accident". No, I'm not kidding. Still, I had no problems proceeding based on reputation. Hey, they don't have insurance (they tell you this upfront), so you are on your own here. Well, MY FRIENDS WERE RIGHT! The staff is professional and helpful, and SAFETY IS THEIR NUMBER ONE CONCERN!
If you haven't skydived - GO DO IT NOW! You haven't lived! I've literally met Mother Teresa in 1995 in a private audience of 7 people, and this came darn close as far as magical experiences rate!
I can't describe the sensation. You will fly up to 12,500 ft in a propellor plane, you will strap in to your instructor (for tandem jump, you need more training for a solo jump), and then boom you get to the door and away you go. It's a rush like you can't imagine.
Sixty seconds of free fall leads to a parachute opening that will stop you with a hard jerk. Let's put it this way, if you are a male make sure your harness is well adjusted near your upper thy, lest you want to sing soprano for a loooooong time lol. My thighs smarted for 2 days after, but it was worth it. Ironically, the parachute ride down nauseated me, while the jump from the plane invigorated. Once we reached the ground, the landing was much softer than anticipated, as if someone gently lay me on the ground. What a rush! An experience of a lifetime!
I highly recommend the Pro Video and Photo Package. You will cherish the memories and show off the video to all your friends. Don't skimp on this one, or you will regret it! -

The plan ride up is horrible. You know you can't back out or get sick on yourself. When you jump you are falling and it is like being in a really bad relationship, there is something about it you love but only for several minutes and you swear to yourself you won't do it again. I will do it again and PVS makes it easy-quick and memorable.
Check this off your list and seize the day. -

After jumping tandem twice last year at Skydive Coastal (in Camarillo), a friend recommended Perris.
Perris has a much larger airport than Camarillo with a MUCH larger dz, and the people at Perris were great. I appreciated the little cafe with food that was actually decent, and though I didn't use it, I thought their shaded observation areas and swimming pool were a very nice touch, as the temps in Perris can soar over 100 in summer.
I jumped on May 15 with Nick Fener, and hope I can jump with him again. He was great.
Though I probably irritated him with my scardey-cat-ness ("do you want to steer the parachute?" "NO." "Do you want to loosen your straps to be more comfortable?" "NO. I am comfortable. DON'T do ANYTHING."), holding his hand in the plane, and a breathless, shakey, under-canopy conversation, I still had a great time and thought he was awesome to jump with, and hope he reads this so I can thank him.
AND, I will go again. And again, and again, and again. -

My friend invited me to go here with her, at first I said no. Then I got really depressed and finally said yes, what do I have to lose, plus it was a birthday gift to myself.
I did the outdoor sky diving, I jumped 12,500 ft. Best adrenaline rush ever! I would totally recommend this to anyone who is depressed or is in need of something new in life or simply try it at least once in their lifetime. I LOVE it! I would definitely do this again!
Oh I forgot to mention, the staff was great, everyone was really friendly and informative.
The only disappointing thing besides from how much you pay, is when you land. I wanted to be in the air forever. It felt so serene, even though I'm falling at 120 mph. -

Ah, Perris. My home dropzone.
It's been a while since I visited, but this was my home dropzone when I first went skydiving back in 2007. I never did tandem, just went straight the AFF certification route, and I must say that the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The dropzone is big, compared to the others in Southern CA. They have a bar and restaurant (the Bombshelter), a skydiving store for both skydivers and visitors (Square One), large areas for packing, an outdoor pool, a place to bbq and grill, and bleachers for visitors to sit and watch, AND a wind tunnel just by the parking lot. Can't get better than that! I like the vibe at Perris... and with most skydivers, it's all about the vibe.
The prices are about the same as the other dropzones. The initial costs would definitely be around $250+ (for tandems), $300+ (for AFF), but is worth a lifetime. Look out for online deals, as they usually set up summer specials or tandem + wind tunnel combinations. And if you stick with it, lift tickets cost around $25 a jump once you get certified. -

Ok I know it's cheesy that I put my own photo in here but if you look at closely you will see that this photo was taken here and it was on my 19th birthday too. http://www.yelp.com/bi... It was the main photo but it got bumped
Yes, it was a lifetime ago but it was one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life. When I went they still allowed people to go solo on a static line and they had tandem as well.
There were about 40 of us in a DC3 with no door sitting on the floor of the plane when we took off. I was the only girl and I volunteered to jump first.
Standing in the doorway with your toes outside of a really noisy plane looking down at patches of land is surreal.
Jumping, yes on a static line but solo http://www.yelp.com/bi... your chute opens automatically but not as quickly as you may think.
The relief was having the nerve to look up to see if the chute was open.
THEN SILENCE...peaceful wind and I felt like I was floating....
UNTIL I HIT THE GROUND.
FYI...they didn't allow new jumpers to use square chutes because they are more tricky so you use round ones and they move forward at 6 miles an hour and there is no graceful step down like you see with the square ones. You have to hit and roll.
During the 6 hours prior to jumping we were training on what to do if's...and jumping off things and rolling.
I hit a little hard but not too bad.
A must do at least once.
Did I mention that I did this by myself? No friend with me I just decided to do it. I was sooo cool.Listed in: FLYGIRL

Wow! What an experience! Skydive Perris is a great place and one of the few in So Cal to go to. My instructor made sure I felt fine before the jump and just have fun. This was the craziest thing I have ever done. I will never forget it. It might cost a lot beforehand but the memories you get from it are well worth it. Make sure to purchase the PRO video if you are a first time jumper. I am happy with the outcome and glad I decided to jump.

My girlfriend surprised me with a skydiving session for my 30th birthday, and we each made the leap at Perris Valley Skydiving (and we're happy we did).
The facility is located in the middle of nowhere -- about 70 miles from downtown L.A. -- but it's actually pretty cool once you're there. The staff is INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY and "down to earth" (skydiving joke...). And despite the fact you're about to defy death, everyone makes you feel pretty comfortable about the whole process.
We each made tandem jumps, and the instructors were great about prepping us beforehand. You sort of forget everything as you make your way up to the elevation you jump at (12,500 feet). But it matters not -- your instructor will help you through the entire jump.
If you're looking to skydive in Southern California, these guys are definitely legit. And if your girlfriend ever tells you "we're going on a hot air balloon ride for your 30th birthday", don't believe her for a second...
