Burgerquest Review
Burger: 3
I ordered my burger medium but it came just about medium well. it had ok flavor but was a bit dry. good texture and size
Bun: 4
crusty but soft kaiser roll, held up great with the burger and toppings
Toppings: 3
i tried the bananajack burger, which was pepperjack cheese with banana peppers, it was a pretty tasty combo. the peppers didnt overpower the whole thing
Accoutrements: 1
the fries were kinda cold and mealy, no beers on tap and not many decent beer specials. the veggies for the burger were whatever.
Atmosphere: 2
Skinnylegs room itself is pretty nice, it's been renovated recently so everything is new. it has really high ceilings in one part, then really low ceilings in another causing some weird acoustics while you're eating. the service is spotty at best with only one waiter and bartender, with neither of them knowing who is doing what. They were friendly though. This is pretty much a locals place during the week. There's something about about the place though, I dunno, it's just ... weird
Overall: 2.6
Just about average. This cousin of 915, Zola, and Oakley Pub and grill should have great burgers, and they are pretty good, but they're just lacking in how they're being cooked. Coupled with the somewhat awkward atmosphere, it makes this place a let-down. The Mrs wasn't a huge fan of her wrap as well.
A new bar and grill for Bellevue! Skinny Legs has opened on Fairfield Avenue to an eager crowd.
The attractively restored building is two stories with an upstairs loft for live music. When we stopped in for a drink and a look at the new place on Sunday night, the place was moderately crowded with families and couples eating dinner, as well as several patrons seated at the bar for a drink.
The Sunday drink special was a Cajun Bloody Mary for $4. We asked about draft beers, but the bartender said everything is bottled at this point. The beers ranged from $2.50 for Rolling Rocks to $4 for Guiness. Magaritas were $5.
Didn't look at the food menu, but I saw customers dining on salads, fried mozeralla, burgers and sandwiches. One sign said Monday's special was a Chimichanga.
Our only negative observation, other than the lack of draft beer, was that the music (not live on Sunday) was so loud it was hard to hear one another.
Wish I could give this place a better review. They really did a nice job rehabbing the building. However, the food was so bad I don't think I'll be back. Wings were WAY over-cooked, small & tough. Ordered the cheese fries & only 2-3 fries actually had cheese on them. Plus, the fries were over-cooked as well. I left feeling as though I really wasted my money and shoulda just ate at home.
