My go to gal is Amanda.  She also does my daughters hair (she's five).  I called a few salons and their age limit is 12 yrs old.  But Amanda was all for it.  She does a great job with my hair and my daughters.  She gave my daughter a Rihanna hair cut and it came out great!  I get compliments every time we leave the house. If you ever to visit go see amanda.  I only go to her.  I haven't had a chance to try to their spa but I'm looking forward to it.

I've been coming here to get my hair cut by Amanda roughly every two months for about three years now and I walk away happy every time.  Amanda is more than happy to listen to exactly what I want and if I ever don't really know what I want, she's happy to offer thoughtful suggestions without being too pushy.  She's also very good about not over-styling at the end of a cut and going easy on the products like I've requested.

The facilities are clean and cozy without being super-fancy.  Oddly enough, though, there's usually only one other salon customer when I go and it's always easy to get an appointment, often even on the day I call.  While I do like that it's never crowded and I never feel like my appointment is being rushed, I do wonder if their prices (I pay roughly $60 each time I go in for a cut, including the tip) are too much for the area they're in.

Still, though - highly recommended.  Ask for Amanda!

Hello! I'm from Irvine/Newport area and was visiting my sister in Fremont when I came here.

Overall the service was "okay".My main issue was that the services are WAYYYY overpriced. Esp, for the area it's in! It's the Fremont Hub! And this salon is next to Ross, which is why I found the prices to be amusing.

Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
- Rena (Massager/Body Therapist)  was great
- Clean Salon\
- Haircut lady is pretty good (from what I saw)
- Good results (mani/pedi, haircut & toxic removal wrap)

Cons:
- Have to give your CC # at the time you make an appointment - yes over the phone.

- Website possibly out-dated? I asked for one of the Specials next to the body treatments and receptionist said that she's "never heard of it." I made my reservation anyway - At appt time, I come to find  that it was a different treatment that I asked for. Receptionist assured me it's the same, and also better. Seeing that they were not going to acknowledge their mistake, I just went with it. When I came out to pay, there was a $45+ difference!

- Spa pedi/mani are way overpriced! $110! Sheesh! Here it's about $50 for the package using Opi! Not sure what polish they use there, but $110 is still outrageous!

- Haircuts are "okay", pricewise. I get the same haircut using the Pureology line for $35. The haricuts there are at least $65.

- Body wrap consisted of you laying down on this plastic. And after Rena applies all the ingredients, she simply pulls the hanging plastic over your body. So it's not one of those bandages body wrap.

Though overpriced, I could tell a difference between this place and other places in Fremont that cut hair and/or do nails. You know the one! The ones in the strip malls, full of workers that can hardly speak English. Sure the mani's/pedi's are $30, but they only last a few days.

I would try this salon once, if you are curious or if you really want to splurge. For monthly maintenance, I would keep on looking for a place that has reasonable prices.

Skin Fitness is nice, and clean, and you get good service. I have never had my hair done hair, so this review is based on the Spa Side (Massages, facials, wax, etc)

The main reason for the 3 Stars is in this economy, their prices are a little steep.  I can get the same service for $20 cheaper at a few other salons/massage joints.    Another problem is that it is a "Day Spa & Salon" but yet it is not day-spa-ish at all.  I'd pay the premium if it was a bit more ambiant, or if I was getting pampered in some way.  Not so here.

I had a gift certificate that I used for a hair cut from Amanda. She was not only a great hair stylist but a really sweet and helpful girl. She encouraged me to go to the beauty supply and buy hair extensions come back and she showed me how to use them. Shes wonderful and I hope to go back for continued follow up. I havent used the spa services but hope to. I did have my eye brows waxed that was just ok overall I really liked this place. Could it be a little more affordable, YES, 50 dollars for a cut in this economy is quite steep.

I have been getting facials at Skin Fitness for a long time and I'm never disappointed. I always go to Lisa, who is absolutely a gem. She knows skin and I usually get the European clinical facial. I leave feeling relaxed and calm. I have had a few massages here as well and they were great. Will continue to patronize the place, as I think it's one of the best spas in the Fremont area.

I didn't think Skin fitness was that good. Julie did my facial, It didn't even seem as if I got a facial, my black heads were still there and my skin was not anything like I had expected from a facial. I have gotten facials before and they have done a better job with out costing this much. I strongly recommend not to go here.

Hell yeah 100th Review!!

LOVED Skin Fitness. I was lucky to get a Gift Certificate and splurged on over $175 worth of services. All I can say is, Happy Birthday to Me!

Massage: I think my masseuse's name was Shakila. She was super friendly and didn't spend the whole time talking my ear off. Her Neck Back and Shoulder massage was sublime--left me drooling and barely conscious. I was blown away and it totally made my week. The Shirodara oil treatment was next. If I wasn't already floating on cloud nine and using a gift certificate I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this that much. Also, it leaves your hair unbelievably oily, so don't plan on looking too cute afterwards. It took me two shampoos.

Mani & Faux Pedi: A little sketch on the cleaning of the tools, but I got an adorable reverse french tip by Huynh. I told her how I hate people touching my feet so instead of the soak and foot massage she trimmed and painted my toes! Totally cute toes without the trauma.

Why not 5 stars? When you make an appointment ahead of time, make sure to specify the amount of time, if not they tend to book you for longest option.

I go to Amanda for my haircuts and color... She does an amazing job.  She has a great eye for what good looks on different people and she never goes wild or crazy with my hair she knows what suits me and that's exactly what she does.  She doesn't push me to buy a million products but only recommends things that really would benefit me.  I don't know what I would do if she ever leaves.  My hair would look like a disaster =/...

I have referred 3 of my friends and they absolutely love her as well.  She's just great at what she does!

I've gotten underarm wax, leg wax, brazilian (YEEEEEOOW!!) and facial here. Julie is GREAT and we always have a lot to talk about. Talking about random stuff with her upbeat personality is the perfect remedy for the burning pain experienced in my sensitive nether regions when its being yanked out by the root by hot wax. And FYI, its clean as a baby's bum (literally!) when she is done. (can i say that here??). The Telly Savalas experience is not SUPPOSED to be pleasurable (unless you have trichotilomania and love pulling out hair??) , but she at least tries to make it as least painless as possible!!!

The prices are fair for what you get. I reccomend Julie.

I was a little apprehensive about making reservations for a massage after reading Yelpers' reviews about the masseuses who talked too much during a session. My bf and I both had gift certificates, so we picked a Saturday when we were both free. We booked Swedish massages with Rena and Vedus. I had them pair Vedus with my bf since she had a good review here, and my bf needed a good masseuse for his persistent back aches.

The place looks a bit plain and smaller than it really is from the outside. The interior is designed fairly well and looks pretty new, with the salon area to the left and the spa to the right. My massage by Rena was okay. I realized massages aren't such a big deal for me. The only parts I really enjoy are the shoulder and foot massages. She was quiet throughout our session, but at times I could faintly hear music like popular radio play type music at a department store coming from another tenant or maybe the salon. I could hear my bf and Vedus' muffled voices when they were talking in the room next door. I don't know if that happens in other rooms though. We were using the rooms that could transform into the "duetto massage" by removing the curtains and sliding glass door between the two.

My bf thoroughly enjoyed his massage. His attitude was so relaxed and upbeat afterwards that I was amazed. Vedus can work wonders. I think she improvised and gave him something between a Swedish and Deep Tissue. For me, Rena was just alright. Not sure if it's because I don't care too much about massages, or if it's because she isn't that good. But overall, the whole spa experience wasn't bad.

Haircut by Amanda- 5 stars!
She was personable, flexible and asked all the right questions to understand my needs.  I can't use most hair products so she styled without product.  She even said that I could bring my own stuff next time, even though the receptionist had told me I couldn't.  She was also fast!  Twice as fast as my usual stylist.  A definate plus!  I have diffcult hair to style- It's thin and thinning.  It's limp and lifeless and I left feeling pretty good about my cut.

Pedicure by Olga- 4 stars.
To be fair this is only my second pedicure ever.  It was heavenly.  I can;t tell you if it was a good price since I don't have a big pool to compare and I paid with a gift certificate so to me it was practically free!  My one complaint is that she never explained what was goign to happen next and since I am a novice I didn't know and so I kept having to guess.  I was abit uncomfortable with the power/privelege thing where I had someone waiting on me literally hand and foot.  I got my pedi with my sister so she & I talked the whole time and I barely conversated with Olga.  It felt a bit rude.  I'm not 100% comfortable with paying others to pamper me.

Reception/Management -2.5 stars.
They were friendly enough, but always seemed to be in a rush and never explained things.  They never confirmed price with me- not when I booked, not when we arrived & not when we paid.  It was weird.  I had looked up prices on the website so I knew what to except, but otherwise I would have had to ask.  Also I had asked to bring my own hair products and the receptionist said no, she even asked "the manager" who said no, but when I got there the stylist said she wished I had since I couldn't use their products due to an allergy.  They also never explained what was happening.  It would have been great to get a "Have a seat and your pedicurist will be with you in a minute.  When you are finished with your pedicure, come back to the reception area and your hair stylist will come greet you."  They didn't even take our jackets.  They did offer us water.

This is an unassuming spa tucked into a corner of the Hub. I never would have stopped in if it hadn't been for a friend repeatedly recommending a particular esthetician here. I finally decided to give 'er a go, since my birthday is coming up and a facial sounded like a nice treat.

The receptionist who first spoke to me actually screwed up and booked me with the girl I requested (who was recommended) on a date when the girl wasn't even working.... and then called me back to tell my my appointment was void... and I settled for whoever was available, which I normally would not have done..

I arrived 15 minutes early, and waited for about 25 mins total which is normal enough I guess. The actual salon waiting area is kind of small so if more than 3 people are waiting, someone's going to be standing up. I guess the space just isn't that impressive - but that's not the end of the world.

I ended up getting a cranberry facial (cranberry peel + facial) with an add-on mask at the end to hydrate. It's not cheap (I think it was about $150 total, although if I had just done the facial it would have only been about $80) but most skin treatments are going to hit you in the wallet pretty hard. I did like the girl I got (Julie) and outside of the 5 mins of extractions, it was painless. She also did neck and hand massages in between steps and the whole thing lasted about an hour. She gave some helpful skin care advice and was generally friendly. Towards the end, there is a hard sell for their product line, so be prepared for that if you are getting any skin treatments. It's not a bad thing if you DO want some professional product (I was open to it) but I know that for some, that could be annoying.

One kind of lame thing I noticed is that they do not care if you were referred unless you use their special card referral system. Without this card, you (and your friend) will not get any benefit. If you DO use the referral card, your first visit is 25% off and your friend gets some freebies too. Another thing to point out is that they only have one pedicure station so you can't really book nail appointments with friends.

Overall, I did enjoy my visit but don't know how often I would come back. I think I'll give them at least one more try before I make up my mind. I do think regular facials are a worthwhile expense and if my skin stays clear with their product line and treatments for at least a couple months, I'll be a happy camper. Until then, I'm taking 1 star off for the booking snafu and weird referral system.

Amanda is great! I was online looking for a hair salon and i watch the video on their website. The girl on the video did such a great job that the next morning (first thing) I went in and schedule to come in an hour later. I was telling the receptionis that I watched the video and would've loved to get my hair cut and color by the girl in the video and to my suprise that was who could take me in!

She did wonders with my hair. I was so excited when I left!  I highly recomment this place.  They do everything.  It's a spa, but they do hair and nails.  Check it out!!!

If you want a good deep tissue massage - go to Vedus.  I'm happy with her. In fact, I have an 60 minute session this weekend.

She doesn't talk your ear off like some folks and she's very knowledgeable about the body.  I really like her.

Generally I spend $105 for 60 minutes (that's including tip).

I went in last week and got a massage from Shakila and I can honestly say it was one of the worst massages I have ever had.  It was very obvious to me that she was not professional.

First of all, I wore my underwear yet she continually tried to pull it down.  I have never had a masseuse do something like that. They generally ask and not just take the liberty to try and undress you themselves.

Also, she continually kept hitting her stomach against my head or pushing her body over mine during the massage.  The only thing I should feel when getting a massage is your hands.

Overall the salon was nice and the receptionist was friendly but I would never go here for a massage again.

Fabulous massages at this small day spa.  I've been going to Skin Fitness for about 1 1/2 years.  I have only gotten massages.  At first, I would simply take whatever masseuse they gave me.  I can attest: ALL the masseuses are EXCELLENT!  I recently bought a package for 10 massages.  I've gotten a massage at a minium once a month and with the same masseuse: Kelly.

The packages that Skin Fitness offers are a GREAT deal.  They send you a freebie for your birthday month, and they always have some discount to offer.

I believe so strongly in this day spa that I gave my dad a gift certificate!  He loved his massage.

The only problem to keep in mind is that the spa is located in a rather small space.  Depending on which massage room your in, you could very well hear the noise from outside the door: people talking, someone getting a pedicure.  The spa makes efforts to limit the noise, but sometimes it just can't be helped.

I always come here for my eyebrow wax every month. Ask for Lisa..she does a great job.  She also gives a lot of good advice when it comes to skin care. Great place for a microdermabrasion and facial although a bit pricey.
I got a massage here once.  Wasn't too relaxing coz the masseus kept on talking, asking me questions.

i've been going to Amanda for at least over a year, but every 3-4 months or so.  I remember the first time I went to her I told her that the last person that cut my hair really chopped it off and I didn't like it one bit, hence, the reason I was looking for a new stylist.

Amanda was very attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered.  It's actually always like that with her everytime I go in.  It's hard to find someone that really can tell what you want in a cut or color and someone that actually CARES, cause, you do have to walk around with THAT hair on your head, and she gets that.

Deduction of one star for the price, but I still pay to see Amanda.  She does an awesome job and I highly recommend her!

I'm compeled to write my first review, after lurking at yelp for so long.  I've gone to Skin Fitness half a dozen times.  I really want to like this place as Fremont so desperately needs high quality services.  The facial services are actually decent.   The problem with this salon is that they do not take no for an answer with the products.  I've literally been followed to the cashier and told I had to buy something.  I put the product away when my esthetisian left, and she came back out and told me I needed it and it wouldn't be there when I came back.  Every time I went for a $155 facial, I was pushed into buying just two products, which would double my bill.  Every time, a different two products which were "the bare minimum" of what I had to have.

I actually called and talked to the manager, who told me that the esthetisian was correct and that the services won't last without the products.  Of course, my dermatologist, the one with a degree on her wall laughs at this concept of needing $100 bottle of face lotion.

In addition, I would not recommend any nail services here.  They don't focus on this area, and they are always "between" people, as in, they can't keep an employee in this area, so you never know what you are going to get.

For my desire for a relaxing, positive day spa experience, I'm forced to continue driving to the South Bay where I can get what I want and "no thank you" is respected.

This place is great for those days when you need great massage but don't want to spend an afternoon at the spa.  It's not your poshy, "spoil me" day spa but they definitely do the job.

As far as massages go, they are average in price but for what you pay, the service is fully relaxing.  My favorite is either the Swedish, Deep Tissue, or Stone massages.  Favorite masseuse:  Kelly!  I've had many massages there and have never been disappointed.  I've had my nails done there as well and have been quite pleased with the attention they give for the spa mani and pedi.  Yea massages!

Great place for those "I need relaxation right now" days or weeks.  If you go at off peak hours, I've had great luck getting a last minute appointment.  Of course, if you aim for a weekend or for special events, book ahead.

This place is located in the Fremont Hub, near Office Max.  It's a tiny little venue that offers plenty of services.  The prices are average and the quality of service is OK... but if you like to get your services in a tranquil, relaxing setting, you might not like this place.  Even though the women working there are super nice and friendly, they just don't stop talking!!!!!!

My husband got the Swedish massage (60 minutes for $75) and he said his masseuse told him her entire life story.  The massage seemed just OK to him.

I got the Signature Facial (70 minutes for $130).  It includes a facial along with feet, hands, and scalp massages.  Sounds good, yes? Somewhat deceiving.  Out of the three massages, only the scalp one was somewhat noteworthy.  As for facial, she barely did anything to my face.  I only remember her slathering maybe one or two things on my face, which sat on there the entire time she massaged my hands and feet.  Not much else was done to my face.  The mask was nice and tingled, but really wasn't worth paying that much for.  The woman that worked on me was named Lisa, and was VERY knowledgeable about skin care products and techniques though, and she's very nice.  However, in the end I walked out of there knowing a good amount about her life, some information about skin care, and a face that barely felt touched.... although I was glistening with the final step of the sunscreen and moisturizer.

My husband and I walked out, comparing knowledge of Who Knows More About Their Service Person.  I think it was a close race.

So if you're looking for a place to get a facial or a massage, only come here if you feel like chit-chatting with a stranger and couldn't find anywhere else to accommodate your schedule.

I started coming here to get eyebrow design. After 2 appointments with the same esthetician, she was gone. I found a replacement who I went to for almost a year. She then left and the salon would not tell me where she went. Same thing with another esthetician.

I also got my hair cut & colored there twice- the first stylist I liked, but she ended up leaving. The 2nd stylist was not very helpful. She basically just cut & colored- she was more interested in the client next to me and talked to them the entire time. Not very friendly.

A friend has gone here to get her eyebrows waxed by the only person they let wax (the owner of the salon, I believe?) and she was not happy with the service- the esthetician did a very bad wax job & my friend's brows were uneven & bald in some spots.  There have been numerous complaints about her.

I have not been back since.

Good Job Amanda!

So this is a good place for a man to get his hair cut and styled.  I'm a big proponent of spending a fe extra$$$ for a good haircut (Hear that Supercuts?).  ALl of the ladies who worked there were sweet and freindly, and actually very attentive. Being a guy, I have been lost in the shufflle before at a salon; this did not happen here.  Amanda did my hair, and I am very please with the results....Look at my new pics, and tell me what YOU think of it?

A bit pricey, but the facials are great.  They do have a rewards card so you can get a few perks after dropping a ton of money.

Lisa is awesome - always listens to  your comments and gives little tips on what she uses and why.  I'd much rather be getting facials than visiting the dermatologist.  Luckily, I haven't had a bad experience with any of the receptionists.  I'm usually the last client of the day and it's great that they can still be friendly even when they want to go home.

Had them perform a full facial service which overall, I enjoyed.  The beautician was very friendly, outgoing and did a very good job.

The only complaint I have about this place is that they pushed pushed and pushed products onto me as I was paying for my service.

I've been here twice.

The first time, I took my mother-in-law for manicures for her birthday. She had Olga and I had Rose. Rose did a good job but she asked me all sorts of questions the entire time. It wasn't very relaxing. I felt like I was being interrogated. And my manicure didn't last the week.

Olga was more quiet...my mother-in-law is a talker. However, my mother-in-law's nails never dried! I don't know if Olga put on too much polish or if there was a problem with the polish...but her nails never dried and ended up looking a mess.

I also got my eyebrows waxed there by Emmee(?) and she did a decent job.

I just recently went a second time and got a lip, chin, and eyebrow wax with the same chick. She did a decent job.The bill was quite hefty for waxings...that place is a bit overpriced.

I've found places that do a mani/pedi for 40.00 and they do a much better job and the polish lasts much longer. I wouldn't recommend Skin Fitness for manicure services. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else.

Skin Fitness is the place I've gone when I'm desperate for a quick wax since it's close to my home...but there are so many better places out there, I probably won't go again.

I went here for their massage.  The massage therapist was very good.  She didnt talk too much.  The massages are a little pricey.  The staff is friendly and attentive.

This place took me in immediately as a walk in for getting eyebrows done.  The girl was very friendly and did a pretty good job.   Missed a couple of spots but it was fixable.  Only thing that bothered me was the receptionist.  She was kinda absent minded and I had to repeat things to her a couple of times.  She then undercharged me and then called my cell phone later to tell me I had to come back and pay the difference.  I just called her and did it thru credit card, but I thought that was dumb.  If it were my business I would have let it go.  I have yet to try the massage side.

Great place to get a massage in Fremont.  The spa is pricier than some of the other local dives, but is worth every penny.  Not sure why some of the reviews are mixed, but folks there have been professional every time I've gone in and if I ever had an issue, they've always worked to make it right.

Small day spa at the Fremont Hub. Hot Stone massage was pretty cool. Otherwise, nothing to write home about.

I got my hair cut and colored here because it was relatively close to my house and I didn't feel like driving to far away. I am NEVER going back there again. The lady who did my hair (I forgot her name) did not even try to be friendly with me, and instead just chatted with the other ladies who were working there. When she colored my hair, she put a whole bunch of color on near my scalp line (on my skin) and she didn't even bother wiping it off while my color set in. So afterwards my skin was dyed, and I had to scrub it off to get the color off of my poor skin. Even after all the nightmare, my hair color came off in a couple of weeks and now I am stuck with roots again. :(

Hair Services are overpriced for what you get.  I have had my hair cut and highlighted here several times.  The stylists are always nice and very friendly and ultimately do give you a nice haircut/color.  However,  the prices are really high and they do tend to push product way too much.  In addition, it seemed like every time I would call to get an appointment, they had very few timeslots available.  This may speak to how popular they are, but it's not worth it for someone with a busy schedule.  There are other places out there that do hair just as well, if not better, are more available and won't leave your wallet as light in the end.

I got my hair cut and colored here twice.  I guess I can only say it was okay.  The stylist does a fair job, but she always seems rushed.   The worst part of this place is that they heavily push you to buy products and it is irritating as hell.  What's funny is that this stylist has pushed different products each time I've gone - which makes me wonder if what she recommended the prior time was the wrong thing?  Or do you get more of a bonus if a certain product line sells?  Anyway, the results were just okay...I don't mind paying a lot if the results are worth it; but Skin Fitness is pricey for average or below average results.

I went to this place over 6 yrs ago.  I went there only cause of one particular stylist (Mamtaz).  I was gonna have them do my hair & make-up for my wedding.  Went in for the make up consultation with the owner (Regina) and had to pay a hefty price.  I was scheduled for something like an hour, but only received about 10-15 mins of service, Regina was too busy doing other stuff.  She never completed my bridal make-up consultation (but charged me for it) and ended up selling me her foundation that she mixed up herself to match my skin color, it was horrible - it caused my skin to break out.  I took it back a week or so later and fortunately got refunded for the foundation (around $50 for a small bottle), but not the bridal make-up consultation that she NEVER completed.  I also found out later that Mumtaz was "let go for unethical reasons" and Regina never bothered to tell me before.  I asked if someone else could do my hair, and they refused to accomodate me.  I've never been back since!  I feel like they ruined my special day :(

The salon looked really nice and all, and super trendy but super pricy.  I am sure they are doing OK if they are still in business, but I had a bad experience and will never go back.

I still have NOT been able to locate my former stylist, she used to work at Visual Image before, and then Regina hired her at Skin Fitness when she opened for business - Mamtaz, where are you????  No one else can cut & style my super fine hair like you did!!!!

I came here for a consultation 4 months ago, and I told the lady I wanted a body wave. She said my hair was too long (mid back) so she would use the smallest rods they had (they were TINY). She wouldn't listen when I said I wanted big waves and not small ones and insisted that my hair would "weigh down" the tightness. So I made another appointment just for a color with Amanda.  She was awesome, but I got there at about 8:45 for a 9:00 AM appointment and she didn't get there until 9:15 ish. I asked for "peek-a-aboo" blonde highlights. It took a double process of bleach, a lot of time, and I ended up with a mix of perfectly blond and some orangey streaks. While I wasn't 100% happy with the results, i do commend her for dealing with my long hair.  She was friendly, especially at 10 in the morning.

I can't comment on the spa service since I have not had a massage  at this place.  However, if you are thinking of getting a haircut, don't bother.  The girl does not know what she is doing.
