Why hadn't I been here before?! There was this "Mobile Chowdown" meet where some of the local "taco trucks" came together in an empty lot for a feast of deliciousness.

We beelined it for Skillet and after waiting almost 50 minutes, we were finally at the front of the line. WHAT TO ORDER?! WHAT TO ORDER!! We got the skillet burger, guajillo chile burger, the fennel sage burger, and two large orders of poutine.

THE POUTINE WAS AMAZING. AMAZING. What's not to love? Crispy, fresh, thick-cut fries. Shredded cheddar cheese. Loads of gravy. It needed to be eaten with a fork. It might not be the Canadian version with curds, but MMmmMMMmm! It was so good. Just the right ratio of cheese to gravy to fry. I singlehandedly INHALED an order of large fries. Yes. I know. I can put away food. I may be small, but I've got a big tummy! ;)

For the burgers, the skillet burger was my favorite. I'd heard so much of this "bacon jam," but wasn't sure what to expect. It was subtle, but flavorful. It didn't overpower the natural flavors of the natural grass-fed burger and the soft bun. Yum. The other two burgers were very interesting and tasty as well, but the classic was where it's at.

I would easily wait in line for an hour for this food. MMmM!

This is definitely a case of- the idea is better than the experience.    The Skillet comes to Capital Hill every Monday and every Monday a swarm of people decend upon the smokey silver trailer like it is their last meal on Earth.     This past Monday I joined the swarm of salivating white collar workers and after eating a Skillet Burger with Fries- for $13.50- I prayed to God that he would provide me with better food for my last meal on Earth.

My taste buds, stomach and wallet were all very very disappointed in my decision.  The burger was small and average at best.  The fries were good and I truly appreciated all 10 of them.

My advice- when you see a bunch of white collar workers running towards a smoking silver trailer parked near the Seattle Univerivisty, just walk the other way.  Save your time and money and find a better burger.

I don't eat $10 burgers very often, but this place definitely tasted worth it. The bacon jam was artery-destroying but ultimately worth it. I went early to the Redmond location on Wednesday and thankfully the line wasn't too long. The fries were delicious as well. A mobile gourmet-burger joint at its best; will come again for sure.

I'll have to change my XXX Drive-in burger review now...that place is crap for $10 burgers.

I definitely want to try the poutine next.

Skillet is the gem of the emerald city!
I had to try the place out after seeing the masses waiting out in the rain for a burger straight from an adorable lil airstream. And to my surprise they were waiting because the food is actually not half bad. I suppose if it was just the irony of a 1950's trailer, the place would only stay open because tourist and girls from marysville would flock...but the line was actually compiled of local business men which to me means 1. good food. 2. fast and 3. not so expensive you wife starts to wonder about the mysterious 40 dollar charges made on your lunch break when she packed you a delicious bag lunch!

So sad to update from 5 stars to 1.

I loved Skillet for their amazing food, their creativity, and their prices.  On my recent visit, they delivered none of these values.

Skillet has updated their menu to all burgers.  They have increased their price for a burger & fries from $8 to $13.50.  And the burger was boring.

Skillet is not what it used to be.  Gone are the days of incredible salads, soups and gourmet dishes like duck confit.  They have sold out, focusing on their expansion instead of their food.  I will never eat here again.

I finally found Skillet.

This may have been the best burger I've had in town.  Kobe with bacon jam and arugula (or something).  Fairly simple and super delicious.

This is a cool occasional high-calorie meal of opportunity.

My heart is broken! It saddens me to say this but my relationship with Skillet is over. They recently revamped their menu and everything I loved about them is gone. There's no more variety, unless you count the variety of burgers they have. As tasty as the burgers sound, I'm not always in a carnivorous mood. I liked the excitement of waiting for a new menu to come out and to see what dishes they had come up with for that week.

Oh, did I mention that a burger and fries now costs $13.50! I can't do it, I just can't. I'll always remember what Skillet and I had but it's now time to move on.

This review is for the bacon jam only.

I came across the jam in some food blog (I forget which one).  Yeah, right.  Gimmicky...that was my first thought.  My second thought?  I will never pay $15 for an 8oz jar of gimmick.  So, I passed it along to a bacon-loving coworker, and she bought two jars.  After a couple of weeks, she realized that two jars was too much, so she donated the unopened jar back to me as a finder's fee.  Complimentary gimmick = completely acceptable.

Unable to contain my curiosity, I took a bite.  Nothing but straight bacon jam.  My reaction?  Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW!!!!  This is the real thing!!  This is what's been missing from my life!!!!  God is for real, and it's a pig that wants to spread its fatty gospel to the non-believers.  Bacon Jam...you my new best friend.  The sweetness of the carmelized onions with the delayed wallop of porky deliciousness.  Yummmmm.  Fantastic.  Simply fantastic.

My girlfriend and I are already planning recipes.  Sorry, arteries!

You've got it good, Seattle.  I'll be sure to visit the cart if I ever make it to your lucky, greasy town.  If you're an out-of-towner like me, here's your key to happiness: http://www.skilletstre...

The menu is now nothing but burgers, and they've raised the prices even higher ($13 for a burger and fries).  Yes, the burgers are pretty good, but the lure of Skillet was the variety, not just the burger.  Either they are trying to run themselves out of business, or you guys are really so boring as to have ordered nothing but burgers for the last two years.

If I had to eat one more Subway sandwich, I'd have to hunt Jared down and punch him in the face.
Thank you, Skillet, for coming to Bellevue and saving a young man from certain peril.

This was a truly decadent lunch, one that I could probably only survive once a week, but so appreciated for its ability to break the chain of chain restaurants speckling the city.

The pork was salty, smoky, greasy, and amazing. The fries were perfectly cooked and the fresh herbs on top were even better.
I don't know what was actually in the ketchup, if you could even call it ketchup, but it was a treat in itself.

The icing on the cake was the blackberry mint lemonade. It tasted like all of those things and none of those things at the same time. Perfect way to wash down salty greasy fabulousness.

My only complaint was their confusing tweets: it was unclear if they'd actually be there (but definitely worth leaving the office at 10:55 to find out!)

I've been to Skillet once before and I really liked it then.  But I had it again today, and my opinion has changed.

I had the fennel-sage burger and fries.  $13.  That's $10 for the burger and an additional $3 for the fries.  Granted, it was a LOT of food - I could have (and SHOULD have!) stretched it out over two meals.  But, by the time I got home with it - about a 10-minute drive, the bottom bun was drenched in grease.  Soggy.  Yuck.

Still, I was hungry so I flipped the burger upside-down and ate it anyway.

It wasn't an *awful* burger, and the fries are good, but not $13 dollars' worth.

I know a lot of people would disagree, but personally I'll take Dick's any day.

DUDES. I discovered that as of this morning, SKILLET IS IN DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE!!!!

Oh man. Finally - and end to searching for something new & delicious for lunch (at least on Thursdays). It's parked next to the Galleria in front of an old out-of-business furniture store.

I finally got to try their breakfast sammich and it is definitely as good as THE burger. Tasty, tasty bread, egg, bacon, CHEESE. how can you go wrong?

Dear Skillet, I love you. Thank you for making work on the East side better. *mwah*

I never knew food prepared in an air-stream trailer could be so delicious!  I have a renewed faith in American street food.  Skillet is totally unassuming, a shiny silver trailer that cruises the neighborhoods of Seattle searching for hungry patrons eager to take a risk.

I found Skillet on a gray day on the corner of Marion and 13th in Capitol Hill.  Seems that I wasn't alone.  Even with the rain clouds looming, there was a line of 5 or 6 people eagerly absorbing in the delectable smell of cooking burgers.

The menu is written in marker on the side of the airstream, I enjoyed an AMAZING burger with cambozola cheese, arugula, and bacon jam...it was juicy, tasty...AWESOME!  The only qualm I have is was a little too juicy, the juices from the meat and the jam almost soaked through the bottom bun before I was able to take a bite.  I didn't splurge for fries, but from what I observed, those looked pretty good too.

Next time I'll make sure to have plenty of napkins on hand to soak up the juice as soon as I grab my order from the airsteam window. Go find them!

Food on wheels is so much better than food that's stationary ... except possibly in this case. And I'm devastated that not every food mobile is shaped like a giant aluminum pig (insert also poultry or cow here).

Warning, there isn't much of a selection unless you have a specific pang for burgers, poutine or corn dogs. But I hear the breakfast menu is bomb too!

BURGERS - Two words: Bacon Jam. After the insane popularity of Bacon Salt, I truly believe that bacon should be universal, reaching into every corner of the foodie world. Bacon slathered on my burger with a sweet tang of jam? YES PLEASE. Geniousity.

POUTINE - Heavy. Both weight-wise and content-wise. Not enough gravy and way too much Jack cheese. It was instantaneously soggy to boot. I barely finished 7 bites before groaning and becoming a crow's best friend by throwing my un-gravy covered fries to him. I'm going to O' CANADA for my poutine in the future, they're the original experts on the art of gravy, curds and fries.

FRESCA - I could barely taste pineapple in the pineapple fresca. And then I promptly spilled the whole darn thing while walking across the street. Sad Face.

So, I guess they changed their menu since the last time I went - which was over a year ago. Their food is delicious, but I really liked the variety of sandwiches they used to have. Now it's just burgers?! So I took a star off because of that. But, really, I should go back and see if the burgers alone are worth putting that other star back there. Because, heck, poutine and bacon jam might be worth five stars all on their own. AND there is something to be said for finding your specialty and doing it very well. BUT paying that much for a burger for lunch irks me. I feel quite conflicted about my stars, is what I'm saying. And, perhaps, I'm also feeling a little betrayed and hurt. Hm.

They have increased the price a bit, and with that expanded the portion size.  A pork sandwich for lunch with poutine fries ($11) was enough for at least 2 meals.  The pork was cooked until falling apart, and the bun was smothered in onions and aioli (obviously their take on a cuban), served on a quickly soggy bun.  I ate less than half and still have gluttony stomach ache.  Burger appears enlarged as well.  Lots of bang for your buck, but too much food for a lunch sized portion.

Longing for the longer, smaller menu of the past (which had more small entrees like soups, pastas, salads around $5-7).

Wow!

It was the first thing I said after savouring the first bite of that burger I had long awaited after the first time I saw the Skillet trailer and had arrived too late.  This time, I had what I wanted right in front of me and couldn't hide my excitement.  My buddy was sitting and watching me as I ate because I was so excited about finally getting what I wanted and I think my face said it all...  I LOVED it!

I know that people rave on about different taco trucks, hot dog stands, and other portable restaurants that they claim deliver some fantastic eats, and I do the same on occassion.  This is altogether different.  The food here is sort of a step up, though not to diss on other mobile eateries.  Usually, you expect pretty good food for a great price.  Here,  I feel like you get very good food for an understandably higher price.  The burger was simply delicious.  It was a real treat and I began to understand why it seemed like my sister had been following this place around for a while.  If I didn't have to work, I just might start stalking them...

Skillet Street Food fans in downtown Seattle now have a handy location to get their fix at lunch time. Located on the corner of 4th Ave S. and S. Main St., the walk-up window is a block away from the DSTT, i.e., Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel - it's not just for the Metro bus anymore!  Y'all come on down.

You should also know Skillet is block away from herds of Amazonian geeks and Sound Transit ligh rail wonks so go early or go late between 11 am and 2 pm.

The Burger, y'all know about The Burger. I tried the "summer lasagna" made of fresh pasta, ricotta, basil, fennel, tomato sauce, zucchini and yellow squash. To shamelessly steal a current advert for this dish: This (lasagna) is what summer tastes like. It's a generous portion too, that two can share, unless you're incredibly hungry.

Downtown Bellevue location.

I had the burger with bacon jam.  Though I was a big fan of the bacon jam (with REAL bacon pieces!), arugula, brie, and even the buttery thick bun, the Oregon beef was a bit overcooked and dry, which was too bad.

I split an order of poutine with only one person.  That was a mistake-- split with at least 3 others, or someone who's a BIG eater.  It was my first experience with poutine, so admittedly I don't really have any comparisons, but I found it to be almost too salty.  The fries were mushy in some places and crispy in others, and the herbs were a much welcomed addition.  After two bites, I could feel my chest start to clog up... but I still ended up eating a good third of it, even if it did mean spending the rest of the day reclining at a 45-degree angle at the office.  And yeah, the last third MIGHT be tucked away in the communal office fridge for tomorrow.  It's addictive.  Additionally, according to my Canadian friend, this is the best poutine she's had in the states.

So why three stars?
1) I had to stand in a line, with only about 20 people ahead of me, for 45 minutes.  45 minutes?!  Yes, I understand made-to-order, but there were definitely some efficiency improvements needed.
2)  There was a scare where they almost ran out of fries.  This was after standing in line for 35 minutes SPECIFICALLY FOR POUTINE.
3)  Food ran out by 1 pm, even though they were open till 2.  I would have hated to be that last person in line who waited for 20 minutes and didn't get food.  Lame.

I would go back, but only if I were guaranteed food and maybe a shorter wait.

Yesterday we finally made it to the Skillet truck. We decided to head over to the Queen Anne location around 1PM to miss the lunch crowd. Of course we should have known that there is probably always a lunch crowd here. Anyway, we stepped into line behind 6 other people and waited for about 15 minutes before we even put our order in. It certainly felt like a long time as we watched them cross off a few items from the menu right in front of us. I had flash backs to my last visit to Salumi where almost everything disappeared from the menu even before we ordered.

As we made it up to the first place in line, the server said she was going to hold up the line so the cooks could catch up. That's a good idea, wasn't my initial thought, but it worked out well. From the time we ordered to when our orders came up, was very quick. We ordered the burger and the Sammy steak sandwich. Each of them had a toasted buttered bun which was out of this world. We stocked up on their "special sauce" from the condiments table and then headed over the Seattle Center to enjoy our lunch. Both the burger and steak sandwich were awesome and so was the bacon jam (and I'm not even a huge fan of bacon). The fries were fantastic...crispy and golden. Do get the special sauce for dipping your fries.

I must have been the only student on Capitol Hill that gets excited about Monday mornings. I would park on the streets by PCNW and smell what's cooking about two blocks away. I already knew what I wanted - The Burger. I just love Brioche and for a Kobe Beef to be stuck in between and a lather of Bacon Jam with some green Arugula leaves to be sandwiched together like that? It's like a handful of heaven!

My boyfriend loves their Poutine fries and wouldn't stop talking about the first time he had some. I also love their Jalapeno Cantaloupe juice on a breezy spring morning with my Asparagus Salad. I just wished they wouldn't run out of drinks because sometimes, I'd like to make it a one-stop meal and have my drinks there too without getting really thirsty and end up not having anything to drink.

I was excited when Skillet set up shop at the Queen Anne farmer's market. I had been wanting to try this "place" out and boy was I disappointed. I had the burger with bacon jam. I'm not exactly sure what was in this bacon jam (looked liked shredded bacon in some kind of paste) but one thing for certain: they did not skimp on the salt. This was perhaps the most overseasoned thing I had ever had. After two bites, I had to scrub off all the bacon jam and was then left with a rather pedestrian, dry hamburger. The fries were pretty good but they too were a bit overseasoned (and I'm usually someone who puts extra salt on most anything).

There are enough positive reviews here that I'm willing to give them a second chance ... maybe chalk it up to a bad day in the trailer or just a bad idea (ugh, bacon jam) but for now, this has to be the worst food experience I've had in Seattle.

The only positive thing I can say is that I was able to wash the taste out of my mouth with some great artisinal ice cream from Parfait.

Short review:  This place isn't worth the hassle.

After reading about the epic lines, I tried to beat the rush by showing up at the lower Queen Anne location at 10:50, which is ten minutes before they allegedly opened.  Two other dudes were already queued up.  I chatted with the pink-haired dude while the other guy talked on his cell phone about his weightlifting routine in great detail.  11 AM came and went.  I cracked open my book and waited.  I wasn't in a hurry.

Around 11:10, a guy stuck his head out the door and unapolegetically muttered that it would be "a few minutes" because they "just changed the menu."  The pink-haired dude said it was cool with him.

At 11:20, they indicated that they were open for business and took the first order.  I ordered my burger with fries a few minutes later, thinking that this had better be one amazing hamburger.  I opened my book back up and, over the roar of their generator, I could vaguely make out the words "french fries" being repeated several times as I waited.  At 11:35, they called out my name.  I walked up to grab the food.

Lady: "Did I charge you nine bucks for that?"
Me: "Uhh, yes." (It was actually $9.90.)
Lady: "Do you want two bucks or wait for fries?"
Me: "What?"
Lady: "Fries won't be ready for fifteen minutes."

Again, there was no apology; the chick was very terse.  In a best case scenario, my fries would be ready at 11:50, exactly 50 minutes after the joint's advertised opening time.  I briefly considered another fifteen minutes standing in a parking lot next to a generator and asked for a refund instead.  There were at least 30 people in line by the time I turned to leave.  I pitied them.

The good news is that the burger itself was very good.  The much-ballyhooed bacon jam helped distinguish it from other similar burgers.  The bun was also quite nice.  In the end, though, it's hardly worth it.  The ordering process was torturous and the attitude of the employees ranged from apathetic to mildly hostile.  I didn't go there expecting to have my arse kissed.  It's a trailer, after all, and I was prepared to cut them some slack . . . just not this much.  I advise you to order a pot of the bacon jam from their Web site and use it next time you fire up the grill.  That will give you the general idea.  Don't waste an afternoon on the Skillet Street Food Experience.

Oh, and the french fries?  I'll never know, because I am never, ever going back.

Loved my take out food from Skillet! My father and I jumped down to Thorton Place to grab a bite once I learned that they had a northern location on Friday and Saturday nights.

We ordered the must try Burger (bacon jam, just right bun, and flavorful cheese) and the salad of the week. The burger was medium rare, filling, and layered with flavor. The fries were above average and hard to stop eating. The salad filled a very large to-go box with minced veggies and a bean protein in a slightly creamy basil? vinaigrette. The fresh herbs and the absence of greens actually made the salad better. We split both ordered dishes and almost didn't finish the meal- large tasty portions! The blackberry lemonade we used to wash it down won my father over to the Skillet fan club.

There was seating in the turn around at Thorton Place, and I enjoyed eating there more than I anticipated after viewing the large mini city now built at Northgate.

When I found myself almost turning off the freeway at Northgate on Friday and Saturday nights on my way up north after work a couple weekends in a row I realized how much I loved skillets clean flavors and great food. It is easy to order, pay for, and chow down- making the whole process of getting good food easy.

On Thursdays, Skillet is parked right outside my work, and my coworkers have been known to march out the door, pumping their fists to the cheer of "SKILL-ET, SKILL-ET". I finally checked it out today.

First, if you're going, be prepared to wait in line. A long, long time. I think I was in line for ~27 minutes. That said, it was a nice day and it was pleasant to relax in the sun, watch the trees and the canal.

The food is delicious, and the only reason I'm not giving five stars is that the portions can be kind of small. I got the summer lasagna, and although it was very good, I was kind of like, "This is it? Really?" My husband came and joined me for lunch today, and his burger was insanely amazing. Skillet makes bacon jam, which I thought sounded gross, but is quite good. Their burgers feature grass-fed beef, arugula, bacon jam and cambazola cheese - yum. The fries are great, and I can't wait to try the poutine.

Finally made it to Skillet and I'm very pleased.  I had the steak sandwich and my husband enjoyed the burger with bacon jam.    He dropped me off to wait in line while he found a parking spot at the West Seattle location.

The french fries are perfection.

My steak sandwich was very tender and flavorful with chimcurri and a sweet roasted red pepper.   Hubby wouldn't even give me a bite of his hamburger!

We'll be back...I'm curious about the poutine.

It's not cheap...my steak sandwhich was just under $10 and so was the burger (not including fries).   Add a drink (Watermelon Mint Fresco) and lunch for 3 was just shy of $40.

***Indigestion may kilter opinions below--it was like the hiccups but with burps, the biccups? Either way, unfortunate.****

Atmosphere: Travels.

FOOD: Too greasy for me, and i ordered a green salad--says somethin', right?! So the green salad came with some kind of cabbage and paprika based oily dressing with fried garbonzo beans on top. Just not very exciting, it was decent just odd flavored. Also, i overindulged in french fries of friends and it gave me the burps and that yuck-tummy feeling afterward. I just wasn't thrilled with the whole experience, though there was nothing major to complain of, indigestion (which in fairness was only me--perhaps the garbonzo beans?).  Alright but not eager for a repeat.

SODO 8am-10am and 11am-2pm Tuesdays. My life just got a little better.

After jumping on the bacon jam bandwagon a few weeks ago, and being completely blown away, today I tried the seared sockeye with a salad of  walla walla's, watercress, and cucumbers drizzled with lemon zest vinaigrette and horseradish cream. ($9) Verdict: delish! (minus a few pesky bones). Willpower prevailed and I didn't try the almond cake, but I already deeply regret my decision.

One complaint! Not enough hot or cold beverage choices. Their website says they'll be offering Stuptown coffee "soon."  I'll wait.

I am greatly relieved that Skillet's in my neck of the woods only once a week, because otherwise I'd be living on their poutine.

The prices are a little spendy, and you have to wait a bit, but it's so, so worth it.  The burger is also fantastic with one caveat:  every time I've gotten the burger the fries were way overdone.  I guess I'll just have to make do by getting a burger with poutine instead.  Woe is me.

If you didn't know about this place and you saw it while driving past columbia city/capitol hill/fremont/wherever the heck they are....you probably wouldnt think twice about stopping here. It looks like your typical food truck--the kind you would find near gas stations and coffee stands throughout Seattle. The kind that looks like it could give u a mild case of explosive diarrhea or at the very least...anal leakage.

I thought it would be cheap/mediocre food. but NO. This place serves better food than many restaurants! Each week bears a different menu...ranging from whole trouts to delicious poutine smothered with fontina cheese and sauteed onions. We decided to go for their famous burger...made with grass fed beef. arugula. and bacon jam. The beef pattie was cooked to perfection--juicy and slightly pink in the center...and the handcut french fries served on the side were the best i've had in years.

This is my favorite food truck.

nom nom nom nom.

Stopped by Skillet one afternoon on the way to the M's game. I had the organic beef, with Cambrola, arugala, and Bacon Jam.

yes, BACON JAM.

It was so good, a little sweet, salty, and oh so good.

The Fries come with parsley?  It was good as well.  The ketchup was a little strange (kind of chunky?)  But that was great as well.

Menu is limited, but who cares? Come for the bacon Jam!

Delicious, affordable, casual locavore dining, where have you been hiding? Oh, that's right - everywhere! Skillet is a mobile kitchen, housed in an airstream trailer and soon to be found in a parking lot near you! They take local cuisine to a whole new level by bringing the restaurant to your neighborhood. You'll find Skillet in a different location each day of the week.

The menu changes slightly less often than the location, but always features local and organic fare, and their 2 signature dishes - a local, grass fed beef burger, and Poutine, a delicious mound of French fries tossed with cheese curds and slathered in gravy. We sampled the gravy-laden specialty, as well as the arugula-pesto pappardelle pasta, lavender shortbread with lemon curd and crème freche, and the blackberry lemonade. All were fantastic. Another bonus is that although the food is served in to-go-ware, all of the containers and utensils are compostable, and they provide a compost bin on site!

Minus one star for not posting an update on their website when they weren't able to be at their usual location. A couple of us in line had been desperately searching parking lots in search of airstreams dispensing savory goodness, and ended up having to track down the Skilletmobile at the ballgame. Worth it, but frustrating nonetheless.

What's not to love about this place?!

Fast yummy food for an easy lunch time break.  Even better, if you get it in Fremont, you can walk along the water enjoying the lovely slice of heaven in your little brown to go box!

The burger is huge and awesome - always.  The poutine is awful in that "I'd love to eat you everyday but then none of my clothes would fit" kind of way.  The drinks are always interesting.  And who can go wrong with the nutella and bananas on crostini for dessert?!

Only four stars because sometimes their "other sandwich" be it chicken, pork, etc misses the mark a bit.

But seriously - with poutine filling enough to be a meal and burgers like that - who needs a chicken or pork sandwich anyway?!

Yay for delicious mobile food options in Seattle!
(Marination Mobile just opened up today!)

I will confess that I have not actually been to the Skillet in person but I somehow convinced my younger sister to stop by there when it was in Columbia City so she could bring the burger home to me.

I had read about their burger in the Seattle Met magazine that shows "best burgers" on the cover and I decided that I needed to try their burger for the bacon jam alone.

It did not disappoint.  Everything on the burger was great but I was also impressed with the beef patty itself: seasoned in a delicious way, tender and not over done.

My sister also brought home the chopped salad which was good but I felt like it was missing something, despite the fact that it had variety of things in it....maybe it just needed some feta?

I can't wait to try other things from Skillet and will promise to update my review once I get to go eat at the shiny contraption in person.

OK... you know the whole deal about Skillet- silver airstream trailor, different spot every day, yadda yadda yadda.

Working downtown the mobile locations were never convenient but today a friend, with a car, hit Cascade for some Lunch.

WOW- it's tough to say that it was worth the wait- 20 minutes in line, 15 to get the food... but in retrospect- it definitely was.

I got the burger which was fantastic... and the fries??? I'm going to go out on a limb and say they are the best french fries in Seattle. They are cooked to perfect crispiness... and then sage- who the hell puts sage on fries? Well Skillet does, and it is awesome.

I will give them two stars for the poutine.
0 stars for the steak sandwich. I literally chewed but could not swallow any of the meat. It was tough and fatty and I am not a picky eater.
My husband had a burger that was on a hawaiian roll bun which he did not dig due to the sweetness.
I feel I am being generous by giving two stars.
I will not return!

I guess I was one of the lucky ones as I visited them when they were in Columbia City and there wasn't much of a line. Sure it's not really fast food, but that's because they actually cook the food when you order it. It's definitely worth the wait for the food. I had the burger and must say it was a pretty unique and delicious experience. Bacon jam was a little weird at first, but definitely made the burger taste that much better. The fries, although on the soggy side, still tasted very good.

Seeking out Skillet is a venture that takes time. Don't expect this to be a fast lunch truck that you can just grab and go. You're not getting food on par with McDonalds... No, this stuff is practically gourmet. Be prepared to wait in line, and wait for your food because other foodies will definitely be there for their food.

Got a long lunch break and looking for a new dining experience? Go seek out Skillet and be prepared for a pleasant surprise.

I'll gladly pay $9 for a burger and fries for lunch if it comes out like Skillet makes them.  Tasty, juicy, and the bacon jam tops it all off for a burger unlike anything I've ever tried before.

As far as other food is concerned, I haven't ordered anything aside from the burger.  A friend of mine ordered the mac and cheese, and another ordered the duck.  Both had nothing but great things to say.  Oh, they got the blackberry lemonade, which they also loved and I missed out on.  Mmm.

This is a great place to mix up your lunch-time food options, do yourself a favor and check them out.

If you go, make sure you allow plenty of time - food's cooked when you order it, and sometimes the line takes a while to get through.  Plus, since it's a moving trailer, you'll have to find somewhere to eat your lunch.  Don't let that stop you from going here.

SKILLET, I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS BECAUSE I HAD SUCH HIGH HOPES FOR YOU, AND YOU RUINED MY FRIDAY AND MY LUNCH. DAMN YOU.

My wife and I have looked forward to trying you guys out for quite a while. When we noticed that you set up shop in Queen Anne on Fridays, we were so excited. Our office is in the area. Due to the financial challenges that we are all going through right now, we only eat out once a week. We told ourselves that we would save this week's meal for Friday so we could hit you up. Support you. Help you out. You deeply disappointed us.

We waited anxiously in the long line. We saw a group of three abandon the wait for Kidd Valley. Maybe we should have joined them. We saw the Fried Chicken Sandwich struck from the side of your Airstream with only 4 people in front of us. That was a sad moment. At that point, we knew that we had to get the burger.

We ordered. We waited. We received our box of what we thought was full of goodness. You ran out of ketchup. Really? You ran out of ketchup? I understand running out of the Fried Chicken Sandwich. I understand the long line.  But running out of ketchup? You should never run out of ketchup when you serve fries with pretty much everything. Shame.

We made out way back to the office. Opened our little boxes of supposed goodness and took a bite. I almost spit it out. Not only was our burger well done, it was burnt. Charred. Black. Dry. Bitter. Gross. Disgusting. It's a burger man. It should not be that hard. It's not brain surgery. Medium rare. Pink on the inside. Juicy. This is the way a burger is cooked, not that appalling piece of shoe leather you had the nerve to serve us. $20 wasted. Shame on you Skillet.
