I live in MD so this is the closest resort to me. Can't really give a bad review on this place however it's nothing too spectacular. If you're itching to hit the slopes to test out new gear or just get some snow time, this place is ok.

The trails are a bit limited however there is something for everyone here. There are probably more beginner slopes than anything else. I went to this place at least twice never knowing there were more slopes on the back side of the mountain.

Front side of the mountain has the beginner slopes. the back of the mountain has the more advanced slopes. There is only one "hard" slope and it's basically a mogul hill that connects with an intermediate slope. The backside is definitely more fun so if you're an intermediate rider, might wanna sspend most of your time back there.

The pro shop is pretty cool albeit a little overpriced. The food courts here are ALL overpriced. Can't see the reason behind paying $3 for a bottle water and $6 for a slice of pizza. If you're looking to save a couple bucks, brown bag your lunch and you should be fine. Also, if you frequent here alot, should also pick up their club card. Works at Whitetail and Roundtop as well.

Aww, no more snowboarding until next season.  Weighing out all the pros and cons, I'll come here over Whitetail simply because the amount of intermediate slopes available.  The lifts are noticably slower during night time so you'll lose a bit of time skiing but I absolutely love the options you have on the back side of the mountain!  I'm an average snowboarder, I can't handle going straight down but I don't fall much at all.

The last night I came here the snow was absolutely perfect.  It rained a tiny bit the night before and the weather wasn't freezing the snowing, so I had an awesome time in the slushy-like terrain and the rides were extremely smooth.  A friend of mine says there is supposedly a small steakhouse at the bottom where the lifts are that serve very delicious burgers and hotdogs.. maybe I'll check it out next time when I am not limited to only 4hours of snowboarding =P.  Hopefully I'll have the funds to purchase my own board and gear sometime this year.. can't wait til next season!!

Being 90 minutes from DC this can't be beat for a quick day trip of skiing.  The first class package is a good deal of $79 for pass, rentals, and lesson if you need it.  My only complaint is the pass does not allow you on all of the mountain, and they do not have another all inclusive pass like that which gives you access to all of the mountain.  Although it seems they did not check the passes until night skiing so you are able to hit the rest of the slopes.  The runs were well maintained and it was not too busy.  The food is expensive as at any ski resort, but if they have the outdoor grill going I highly recommend that.  Huge hamburgers, and two sides and a drink for $12.  Overall its a fun day on the slopes, just wish they had a better package for use of all of the mountain.

Ski Liberty has 2 sister resorts - Whitetail and Roundtop. If you are an avid skier/snowboarder, I suggest you go to Timberline or Wisp. The runs here are not very long, but it's a good place to go if you are a beginner or do not want to travel very far.

I went to Ski Liberty for the first time last Sunday. The slopes seemed well maintained (but short) and the site itself was alright but nothing special. The changing rooms seemed a bit small, but they do have lockers and rental baskets, as well as a complimentary snowboard/ski drop-off. And of course no resort would be complete without an overpriced Cafe ($4 for vitamin water and $8 for a veggie wrap). So it would be in your best interest to at least BYOW. :-)

I participated in the Women's Snowboard clinic sponsored by Burton. We had 2 hours with the instructor which was quite helpful for us first-timers and then the rest of the day was spent practicing what we learned (as well as lots and lots of falling).  Some of the proceeds from the clinic went to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

I had such a good experience w/Ski Liberty, I was easily cajoled into purchasing an all mountain season pass. The pass entitles you to a free lift ticket, rental, and lesson, as well as 40% lift tickets and rentals from that point on.

Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of this place is that they are only about 90 minutes from the DC/metro area.

Tubing is a great family outing and at $15/person/2 hours it is pretty reasonable.  Fast slick tracks for big black tubes.  Loads of fun for all.  Here you have to be 5 but they have a kiddie sloap/program at certain times.

The last thing that I will add is that the staff (young adults mostly guys) were so incredibly nice, helpful and willing to do alot for their patrons, push, twirl, spin and imitate flying squirrels.
