This is a great place to use your imagination & create new dishes from the many offerings they have. Here's one of my favorites:
Chili bean soup, mixed with some of their Taco meat, on top of Spaghetti, topped with chopped onion and shredded cheese - this goes great with their yeast Dinner Rolls & butter !
Another idea: order Milk as your beverage ( served in the bottle ) then fill your tall glass with a bit of Chocolate Syrup from the dessert bar, put some vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream in, then stir in the Milk for a nice Chocolate Shake ! If I had a Seltzer Bottle, watch out - Chocolate Egg Cream on it's way !Listed in: Restaurants, South Bay, LA, Vegetarian Choices

I NEVER thought I'd be reviewing a Sizzler, but here I am.
Walking around IKEA for 2 hours I was famished and I wasn't in the mood for Swedish Meatballs. Belly growling, we jogged across the street to Sizzler. For the record, I haven't dined at a Sizzler since the late 80's. I am writing this review because I was impressed with their new restaurant concept featuring a lighter and more open dining room, a new menu and an emphasis on the food quality.
Overall, the entire staff at this location is very fast and competent, and the food is about what you'd expect. It's not 5-star cuisine and it doesn't try to be. It's just a place where you can get some decent surf and turf and a salad bar with soups and wings. Appreciate the food for what it is - cheap and fast.
In summary, I was pleasantly surprised on how much they improved their food quality, this location is clean and our server Mercedes was attentive and friendly. Mercedes gave us 5-star service with a 5-star personality. -

The Sizzler went out of business where I live, so went here for the memories mostly. I am writing this review because I forgot you have to bring cash to tip and so I didn't tip Mercedes. She was very friendly and attentive and the best part of my visit.
The salad bar didnt have as many choices as I remember but it was stocked and clean. The restaurant itself just looks a little dated and could use a little rehab. -

The food here is like any old sizzler, best bang for the buck. But, what makes the Carson location exceptional is the quality if customer service. They always on top of bringing you refills, napkins, extra toast. They even gave extra toast and plates for the salad bar to feed my son even though I didn't get it or him.

When my dad was seriously ill in the hospital my Uncle William drove from Compton on Thursdays to see him. He'd stop at Sizzler's on the way to pick up an order of chicken wings for him. My dad loved those chicken wings. On Thursdays, my dad skipped the hospital food and waited patiently for Uncle William. When the chicken wings arrived my dad savored them slowly, diligently, without talk or distraction, and with an intensity and focus that is uncommon among the healthy.
I'm not that big on Sizzler. But, I feel a sense of gratefulness that they produced something that my dad enjoyed so much in times of great difficulty. Sometimes the little things can make a big difference.
Before his illness overcame him, every July 4th my dad rolled out the grill. He'd get the charcoal and wood chips going in the early afternoon. You could see the smoke rising into the hot Los Angeles summer air for miles around as you approached Martin Luther King and Muirfield Drive. It was my dad getting serious on the grill. It's almost mythical - my dad and the grill. Ribs, Louisiana Hot Links, chicken breasts were the usual fare. He had his own sauce, a secret bar b que sauce, that died with him.
Today, on July 4th, I'm getting the grill out. Gotta grill today. If there were a Sizzler's nearby, I'd probably go there and get an order of wings, too.

This Sizzler will forever be known as the 1st Sizzler I've ever been to! For that reason, I will always love it AND also because it was the Sizzler that I went to after going to church when I USED TO be such a dedicated Christian....eating here with my dad, cousins, aunts, uncles along with my grandma before she passed away in 2000. The really cool tall white manager (that now works at the Sizzler on Sepulveda near National's in Torrance) was and still is the coolest Sizzler manager I've ever met!!!! He was and still does care about the customers!
Cut to now...this Sizzler, is still cool to me, but ever since the manager moved to the one in Torrance, it kind of lost it's natural flair (woooooooooooo!!! *sorry, Ric Flair reference! Had to do it!). This sizzler is now DARKER...and NO RACIAL (NOT just because it's packed with more black folks living around Del Amo and Compton! haha!) I mean this place turned off the lights around the salad bar area for some reason and it really looks darker! When I was a little kid, it was way more brighter (again, NO RACIAL). It's not as welcoming as it once was and like I said the cool manager moved to the Sizzler on Sepulveda Blvd. and I like it a whole lot better there because it's brighter, it has wayyyyyy more tables, a bigger salad bar and GREAT GREAT GREAT customer service along with such a really cool DIVERSE group of workers.
Like I said, I will always love this Sizzler on Avalon Blvd. in Carson, but it has definitely changed throughout the years. -

Good Sizzler. It's in need of a face-lift inside, but it's not bad looking. The salad bar was clean and well kept when we were there. The waitress was extremely good. I wish I remembered her name because I would mention it here. We went on a week night and it wasn't crowded at all. For this trip we only did the salad bar thing so I can't comment on the rest of the food, but the salad bar was good. Everything was fresh.

I recently ate here with some friends after school. Although, the last time I ate here was in elementary where my family would splurge on the coupons I would get for being a good student. Hahaha I'm sure I was motivated in school just so I can go to Sizzler.
Anyway, back to present time. You order and pay for your meal 1st before you sit but they still bring your food out. Their menu choices are limited but they're okay. Can't really go wrong with sandwiches, steak & shrimp. Overall the food was alright and I loved the salad bar. Service was great and very friendly. And last the restaurant was very clean. A lot of people think of Sizzler as a bleh restaurant and would just pass. I think it's a great lunch restaurant where you can just relax after a loonggg day in school ahha.
