I love six flags parks, I've been to them all over the country, and this is BY FAR the best one. The number of big coasters is great and wait times are really manageable most days.

Honestly, Magic Mountain is more fun than Disneyland in many ways. Definitely not as magical, but if you want to have fun on coasters, then Magic Mountain is your best bet. Also, it's way cheaper, and a season pass is especially affordable. It pays for itself in less than two visits, and the flexibility it provides can't be beat.

X-2 and Tatsu are both really great coasters, and there are plenty of rides and attractions for people less interested in thrills. Fright fest is also great around Halloween.

Food is expensive, but it's a theme park.... so that's kind of expected. You can always pack a lunch and eat in the parking lot.

Last time I came here was in December for my cousin's winter break. It was crazy packed.

My suggestion is to not come here during peak times such as summertime and school breaks if you want to avoid the two hour lines.

That should seem pretty obvious though.  The season pass is a good deal since it also includes admission to fright fest in October.

    yay DIVE DEVIL time!!

six flags has (by far) the best selection of thrill seeking coasters in SoCal. It's so much more enjoyable if you strategically pick what day to go so you avoid the large crowds

A tad pricey as most amusement parks are but with coupons, you can save $25-35 on admission and you can purchase your parking pass in advance online ($15). Cheaper than Disneyland, more fun than Knotts

They've peppered flat screens in the waiting lines and play popular songs (no more Venga Boys all day) to make waiting in line more tolerable.

Best roller coasters in California. Been to Great America, Vallejo Six Flags, and now Valencia Six Flags. The rides here are taller, faster, and just CRAZIER.

Cost: $15 for parking, $36.99 for 1-day pass (purchase online) + $5 online process fee.

Six Flags is an awesome park with a lot of awesome roller coasters.
Here is a list of roller coasters
Gold Rusher- It's too mild so I'd skip it
Revolution- A great ride to warm you up before you go on the more extreme ones
Colossus-Pretty fun but pretty rough I'd only go on it if the park isn't crowded
Ninja-it is okay but it does give you a little Japanese theme
Viper-Very fun you feel like you're flying upside down but I'd suggest sitting in the middle row
Batman-Amazing, I like how it starts out somewhat fast but then speeds up on the loops
Superman Escape From Krypton-Very short but extremely fun, it is probably my favorite ride at this park and you accelerate very fast and when you get to the top you have a brief glimpse of a spectacular view and then you experience the thrills when you go down.
Riddlers' Revenge-Very fun stand up, you feel like you're flying but your head will likely bump in between the shoulder bar.
Goliath- Very fun and fast, it will make you black out when you are spinning :D
X2- It is a fantastic and thrilling ride with audio and flames effects
Scream-Amazing and smooth, I like this because you can go on a roller coaster with 7 inversions without having the front and back being rough (Viper)
Tatsu- Very fun, when you start you go from a vertical inverted position to a flying position you may feel weird at first but you will feel safer once the ride begins and when you get to the loop you will feel a lot of Gs
Apocalypse- It is pretty fun, it is like Ghostrider from Knotts Berry Farm but with an apocalyptic theme.
Green Lantern- It looks more like a county fair ride than a roller coaster so I'd skip it
I would suggest getting a season pass because it lets you enter the park without paying for the admission but you do need the pass and the pass is only $62.  If you're eating lunch I'd recommend eating in the DC universe area because there is better pizza there and there's a Johny Rockets Express.  But I warn you the service is very slow and the food is overpriced.  I wouldn't recommend eating a lot because you can get a bit queasy if you eat a lot and then go on some thrilling rides.  I wouldn't recommend this park for children under 11 unless they are willing to ride on any ride.

Paid good money to ride a total of ... THREE RIDES?? Wish I can say i was exaggerating, but that'd be lying.

I visit Six Flags about 2 times a year, and have been going ever since I was a teeny bopper. I remember the early days when I would be able to ride at least 60% of all the  rides there, but the last visit was just ridiculous.

They do have pretty amazing roller coasters that'll make you pee in your pants:

    1) X2: your seat isn't glued onto the roller coaster cart, so you get slammed back and forth in your seat according to gravity, which is pretty scary since you don't know where you'll be tossed 23423423 feet in the air...

    2) Green Lantern: Call me crazy, but I think Green Lantern is scarier than X2! It's the exact same concept as X2 except it's at half the speed, WHICH i found MUCH more terrifying, since you sorta can see where you'll be flung off to, while on X2 it all happens so fast, you don't even have time to get scared.

And then there's the "Feel-good rides", that aren't really scary, but just fun:

    1) Tatsu: The way you're strapped into the rides is as if you're actually in flight, and if you're brave enough to extend your arms outwards throughout the ride (which I do), it really does feel like you're flying.

    2) Ninja: Soaring through the trees, this ride is a super relaxing ride to rest your tired feet!

    3) Batman The Ride: Most comfortable, yet exhilarating ride ever. **Def. Recommend!

Those are some of my fave rides, but I warn you, DON'T come on a weekend, or be prepared to throw your money down the drain... :( AND before you leave the park, definitely get a funnel cake with strawberry topping ;)

Six Flags has drifted down an okay amusement park. Back in the days (lol), Six Flags seem like the coolest thing ever, but after - it kind of gets old. The rides are definitely thrillers compared to Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, etc but these rides are very unstable, rocky and really old. The rides that I recall really rocky are the Revolution, Scream, Colossus, and Viper. Can probably skip these rides.

The busy times vary... there is really never a specific time and day when the park gets  extremely busy. I also want to point out that they are more strict during the summer time (when it does get a little busier) that they do not allow snacks/drinks in the park and they require every ride to use a locker to place their bag in, if not, they would not let you in the ride. I GUESS it's a smart way to earn some more moola.

Overall, best rides: Superman and Tatsu :)

Since my last review on Six Flags, which was about 3 years ago, I have visited the AMUSEment part once. I received a free admissions ticket and hoped the park would be empty. Of course it was not empty! Lots of kids running around with their pants sagging showing the world what type of underwear they got for Christmas.

I think the approximate wait times for all rides was between 30-90 minutes. We did manage to get on quite a bit of rides before calling it a day -- so our trip was definitely worth it.

One ride I did NOT like was the Green Lantern ride. This has got to be the most insane ride at the park. Not only does it flip you around but it jolts you and swings you backwards and thrusts your forward...you truly feel like you are going to DIE in mid air. The entire ride is about 40 seconds...40 seconds of excruciating physical pain, uncontrollable fear and neurological damage. I lost my mind on that ride and am surprised I didn't have a bowel movement 5 seconds into the ride.

I think the most unbelievable moment was when I opened my eyes as the coaster tipped forward and all I could see were my loose dreams falling out of my pockets. I screamed and cursed and prayed and cursed...it was not a kind ride. i vow to NEVER get on the ride again.

We got on the usual thrill rides as well; Viper, Ninja, Goldmine, Batman (which gave my husband whiplash) and Scream. All were tame compared to the awful Green Lantern!

One observation: The Six Flag employees really don't like working there. I overheard 2 people say how they feel "super lazy" or "Would rather be in bed." I don't know about you, but I don't think I want the ride attendants feeling "lazy" or "tired" while operating rides. Seems a little scary.

6 Flags only has 588 reviews? I love Six Flags - I used to buy season passes all the time, and their new rides are awesome. Especially the Green Lantern. My fiance wanted to barf after it was over, but I pretty much had an amazing adrenaline rush that lasted for at least 20 minutes after. The lines were heinous as usual, but what do you expect - it's a theme park! There's no way to lessen the lines, unless you lessen the traffic, and that's the opposite of what Six Flags should do. I heard a rumor they were going to be closing down to develop condos or homes on that piece of land, and I REALLY hope they do NOT do that. That would be terrible!!! Anyways, love love love this place - and I do NOT love the prices of the food. Oh yeah, there's a corn kiosk in Gotham City - go there. THE BEST corn ever.

Yeah, don't think I'll be back unless someone gives me a free ticket. Note: never ever come again during the week of December 26-29th. I experienced a lot of crowdedness throughout Socal. I was there from around 11:30am till closing and I only rode on 4 roller coasters while some of my other friends rode 5. The lines were RIDICULOUS. Waiting almost 1+ hours on most of the rides.

    Rode on:
-Viper (didn't seem like it was a scary roller coaster but it was definitely a lot higher and funner than expected)
-Tatsu (really didn't like this ride because I am afraid of heights and having to ride up looking down the whole time, yea no)
-Apocalypse (yeah we thought this was some kiddy ride but it was definitely super super fast)
-Goliath (LOVED IT. The only ride I was looking forward too. The drop was literally breathtaking and I would've rode it again if the it wasn't another 2 hour wait)

Overall, I am not that big of a roller coaster fan. I do like them but the ones at Magic Mountain were too intense for me. Really didn't like the lines and not to mention the HORRIBLE tram system. Waited 20 minutes for a tram. People were so angry that they just started walking. Park needs a little revamping here and there. Don't think I will be back anytime soon.

As a kid, I'd always wanted to go to Six Flags and finally had the opportunity when I was in my 20's with some of my friends.  Yes, I was a late bloomer in going to this park, but part of me wishes I went when I was younger for the reason that there wasn't much appeal to me as an adult.  Some of the more intense rides were shut down when I went and I wish it had been more fun.  The food and drinks are expensive beyond a joke and becomes repetitive after about a few hours of being there.  Some of the rides hurt and are not as comfortable as I would have hoped.

I love Magic Mountain for what it is - a no frills amusement park. If you want a fully immersive THEME park, go to Disneyland. If you want some sort of red-headed stepchild between the two aforementioned parks, hit up Knott's.

It's hard to argue with the abundance of roller coasters in this place, and it's not just the number. The quality of the coasters at Magic Mountain really set it apart from the competition. X2 is like nothing else you'll ever go on. Tatsu is the longest, fastest, best flying coaster in the world. Riddler's Revenge is the tallest, longest stand-up coaster in the world. The list goes on.

On crowded days, though, this place is miserable. Not much shade in the queues (though management has gotten a bit better at this), nothing of note to keep you entertained other than awful VH1 music videos force fed down your throat, and hordes of gangbangers and randy high schoolers.

But that's expected at a place like this. You're not at Magic Mountain to make dreams come true. You're there to scream your head off.

On my last visit, however, the crowds were substantial, but not overwhelming. What baffled me, though, was that some of the coasters only had one train running. ONE. I waited over an hour for Ninja. Yes, Ninja. Ninja is worth, what, 15-20 minutes, max? One train. Batman and Riddler's were also running just one train, so I didn't even get on those. Riddler's alone had a two-hour wait.

I don't know what possessed the powers that be to only run one train on a day that when decent crowds were likely. It ruined the experience. The coasters running two trains had decent waits, but not much more than thirty minutes. Something is wrong when I can get on Tatsu faster than Revolution.

All in all, if you are a coaster person, you will obviously want to go to Magic Mountain. It is a coaster mecca, and those rides surely do not disappoint.

Enjoyed this park more than Disneyland. Though I was there only a few days ago. The lines were decent. Not no crazy 1 hour wait. Longest was maybe 30 min tops.Though talking to some of the park workers, they were saying it good to come when the school are still in because usually they make up the mass of people that go there.

If your a roller coaster fan or just love to go on rides, then you should at least experience this at least once. I liked quite a few, but just to mention you need to try the X2 and the Goliath. Though food is ok, not really worth going just for that. The park is pretty clean for the most part,  some places need a little bit of maintenance, but not bad.  I only got to ride Magic Mountain side and there was a lot to ride, don't forget to go to the other side too. May need a whole day to enjoy the whole park at a nice place. :)

I've been here several times and I've always had a blast.

X2 - is just plain sick. It moves and it moves fast with inverted twists and turns.

Viper - looks unassuming but once it drops from the peak point... It's all screams.

Batman - fun roller coaster. Not too aggressive but fun.

Green Lantern - just say I got a whip-lash and I now need a massage.

Superman - ends as soon as it begins. 0-100 in god knows how fast. AMAZING ride for how simple it is. A must go!

Food (no this isnt a ride), so we bought Panda Express and quality of food was mediocre at best for a whopping $12.00. At a local Panda it wouldn't have topped no more than $7.00. Some mark up. Sad when parks and venue "trap" people and visitors are forced to pay these ridiculous prices!

    Parking is average $15.00.

Heres a tip, stay at a local hotel - HIlton garden inn. Park there and walk to the park. About a 0.8 mile walk. Average 10min max! Andddddd you'll gave $15.00 on parking.

    Enjoy!

some of the worse customer service ive ever had to deal with from people in managerial positions. dealt with the rudest, most unprofessional female will call manager today, who without any decency or professionalism, proceeded to lie about what she did and didnt do even when there were 3 different people who heard what she said. then when i trapped her in her own lie right in front of the supervisor, another associate, and 3 other people, she proceeded to just roll her eyes at me, and walk off.

Aside from all this, a supervisor kept us waiting a good couple minutes before even coming out and helping with our situation, but then disappeared with no warning or information of his whereabouts or what he was doing for OVER 40 MINUTES!!! we later found out from another associate that he went to the back to handle and talk to ANOTHER CUSTOMER on the phone, when we were still at the counter looking for a resolution to our problem.

i will not lie and say that they dont have some of the greatest rides out there, but for the expense (since we ended up paying OVER 300 dollars for just FOUR people), the time (since we ended up wasting a good 2 and a half hours trying to deal with the situation), and just the pure unprofessionalism and rudeness that we had to deal with today, i dont know if the rides and the one hour drive over there is worth it.

one of the worst theme parks you will ever visit. sure this place was great when i was a kid ( about 7-10 years ago) but now it has just turned into a trash filled park.

never have i heard of as many rides being shutdown as they do at magic mountain. it seems like everyday at least 2-3 rides get shutdown. ontop of that, the lines feel like the rides are always shutdown! if your not in the park before 12 or a random day when nobody goes, then youll have to wait a minimum 45 min for any ride.ANY RIDE

now the food..all the food is made of who knows what, cooked in as much grease possible, and priced about $6 more than it should be. a hamburger, just a hamburger, costs $9, then if you want fries and a drink its more like $13. same with the personal pizza, $12 just for the pizza. everything else too, from the cotton candy, to icecream, to the little candy in the candy store is marked up 60-90%.

as for the people that work there...there are a few categories of those:
kids: they hire a buncha kids that dont care about the job and make it more difficult on you, the customer, to get from point A to point B
the try hards: okay its always good to care about your job, but honestly its just magic mountain. dont be so hard or strict that its overwhelming. just be a good employee!
(i know it sounds contradicting/hypocritical but you smart readers will understand)

then the people who visit the park:
rejects, druggies, gang bangers, juvenile delinquets, large annoying families, bratty snobby kids
    you can picture the rest...

magic used to be a decent place, but the city and park it self ruined its own status and reputation.

    X2. X2.

    X2!

Now that I've got that out of my system....X2!!!! Sorry.

I'm from New York, so the Six Flags I'm used to is Great Adventure, which is out in New Jersey. Between Great Adventure and Magic Mountain, there are quite a few shared or similar rides, but each has its own signatures. For Great Adventure, it's the tallest/fastest Kingda Ka, and the fastest wooden coaster, El Toro. Those are both awesome and all, but...I'm always pining for Magic Mountain. Why? Did you really have to ask?

X2 has to be my favorite coaster of all time. I went back in 2006 and was wowed by how unique it was, so when I went back a couple months ago and heard it had been revamped, I was excited.

How do you revamp a ride that's already amazing? Make it shoot fire. In your face. Yep, that'll work.

It's an amusement park, so you should know the things that come with the territory: crowds, lines, waiting, and pricey food. All worth the thrills, to be honest.

Bring comfy shoes for the hills, and just have a great time...I think it's hard not to have a good time here.

I was here just a couple of days ago. The lines were extremely short, so I was able to go on a lot of rides more than once!

Although, just be careful when you're going on rides when the park first opens, because I was stuck on some of them.

The first was the Green Lantern! Definitely an over-hyped attraction. The ride only last for 20 seconds, and I had some whiplashes after the ride was done. It turns out that it had malfunctioned, and we had to sit and wait for it to get fixed for a couple of minutes. It's definitely not worth the usual 45 min -1 hour wait.

The second was the Riddler's Revenge. The ride was great, but standing really made my thighs sore. The ride broke down right when we came to a stop. We stood there for awhile...

Because the park was so empty, a lot of little snack kiosks were closed down! I was extremely hungry, and by the time I was able to find a place that sold some salty snacks, my appetite went away!

Overall, this time's experience wasn't as great as the last few. The main good thing that came out of it were the short lines! And my favorite ride for the day was the Batman ride. I loved it! :)

So I went to California to visit my family and my friend has a Six Flags pass, which are worth buying if you will go more then once a year. So we drove from Long beach on a pretty sunny warm day to the amusement park, to get to the gate and find out it was closed. We were so bummed. So we sat in the drive way for a while and noticed we were not the only people to come in at least 10 cars in 5 mins drove up and turned around. But if my friend would of looked on the calendar online we would of noticed it was only open Saturday Sunday until Spring. So we changed out plans around and came back Sunday i love this park and was going to go. X2 and tatsu are my favorites this park had so many good rides

DO ANY OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE RATING LOW DUE TO LONG LINES UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A THEME PARK AND THAT 1-1.5 hours IS THE NORMAL WAIT TIME IF NOT LONGER ON WINTER AND SUMMER VACATIONS?!?!? as if going to Disneyland or Knott's or any othere themepark during winter and summer vacations are anything less than 2-2.5 HOURS for one ride and it costs $90 to get in at disneyland for one day vs $62 for a whole years season pass at magic mountain.

Get  real people.. Don't come thinking that just because you spent LESS than you would at other parks that the lines will be less long... If you want short lines come when it's not vacation for schools and come on a weekday.. Be smart. Magic mountain is the BEST park from six flags... And it's NOT almost $100 just to get in for one person for only ONE DAY.

The help from the employees maybe be sucky but when you employ more than 2000 people of which 90% are teenagers what kind of exceptional service do you really expect? Now the managers and supervisors can do a better job but just from normal minimum wage employees you shouldn't expect much.

The rides when you do get to them are FANTASTIC and way better than any other theme parks roller coasters so don't complain... You went to experience the real deal for roller coasters and you got it.

I give 4 stars because the food is way too expensive ...starting at $9 -14 for ONE ITEM so unless they lower the prices for food they get 4 stars ;)

Magic Mountain is well..kind of on a mountain so it's not a flat park so make sure you're ready for some slopes! Tatsu and Batman were really smooth. I also really like wooden roller coasters so Colossus is a treat. The newest Green Lantern ride is a big mind fxck but you get your money's worth if you're trying to scream. Definitely an interesting innovation!

Didn't have any fudge cakes this time around after stuffing myself with their churros...but statistics say they sell 1.4 million a year!

I wish six flags was closer to where I lived I would visit it more often,  I love rollercoaster and six flags out of all the amusement parks in socal has the best ones.  It's worth the hour and a half drive once in a while.

It's true what people say though it kind of is ghetto and dirty but whatever the rollercoasters are worth it and for the price you're paying what did you expect?  if you want a clean park, and smiling staff pay 3x more and go to disneyland.

My personal favorites are riddlers revenge, tatsu. and x2.  Skip ninja and superman kinda boring and plus superman you have to walk up this ridiculous hill and it's not that fun totally not worth it.  The park closes early though which sucks last time I was there it closed at 6.  I need to pay a visit sometime soon.  Look for coupons there's always a promotion going on usually.  Oh yea and be prepared to walk a lot, there's a lot of hills here but the best part if you go on a weekday it's not that busy so maximum wait time on the more popular rides is like 20 - 30 mins.

Great day of fun for our family of 5.  3 kids- 13, 8, 6.  Went on Thanksgiving and spent from 10:30-6.  Open- close.  Paid $27 per ticket from AAA office.  Rode 19 rides, ate turkey legs, nachos and fries.  A must do.

My 6 year old went on almost all rides even though she was to short.  I think she was only measured and told no on 3 of the rides.

***Six Flags Magic Mountain features fun and thrilling rides; lines move slow (even during non-peak times), which makes their optional fast pass fee almost necessary to avoid the waits and have an enjoyable experience***

I grew up going to the famous Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio and Six Flags Magic Mountain would be the west coast park that is most similar to it.  I like Cedar Point more though.  Their rides are classic, enjoyable and big; and while Six Flags Magic Mountain does feature big rides, they are a little more gimmicky.  The food is better at Cedar Point too.  The real separation is in the service though.  Cedar Point is well operated and efficiently managed so long lines move fairly quickly.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, on the other hand, has very slow lines.  Part of it has to do with how elaborate some of their rides are.  It does take more time to load and unload passengers on these rides.  Still, the park does not always run the maximum number of trains on these rides.  That might be done to push people to purchase their fast pass; however, it comes at the expense of most customers who have to wait longer than they should.

Fortunately for us, we did have fast passes, which resulted in short waits for most rides.  Some rides (like Deja Vu and Superman) took a little bit of time even with the fast pass.  We rode several rides.  Here is the rundown.

(Deja Vu) This was easily my favorite ride.  It was a long wait because there is only one train on the track (and there can only be one train at a time due to the structure of the ride).  The ride, which has loops and steep drops, sends you on one track two-ways (frontwards and backwards).  The ride is fun and different (and with a lot of speed), but you should make sure not to have loose items in your front pocket.  You will lose them.

(X2) This roller coaster puts you on an hydraulic-like seat that allows you to bump around the coaster (you also come out of your seat a little bit).  Like Deja Vu, X2 is a different experience and fun.

(Superman: Escape from Krypton) This ride sends you backwards up a steep vertical tower and then there is a big drop.  The ride is fast, but you do not really feel the big drop.  Not surprisingly, the Superman ride is very short.  Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster has a different take on this ride and it is a significantly more thrilling experience.

(Tatsu) This roller coaster allows you to lie face down (kind of like flying).  It is a unique experience and there is one part that pulls you backwards, which was a lot of fun (and quite different).  Unfortunately, the ride is a little nauseating.

(Goliath) This is a traditional roller coaster, which focuses on a big drop and a lot of speed.  It is very standard fare but still a lot of fun.

(Riddler's Revenge) This stand-up coaster is decent and has a big loop, but it is a little nauseating and may cause you to bang your head occasionally against the big and stiff shoulder restraints.

There is not much in terms of good food.  They have a few food stands as well as some chains like Panda Express and Cold Stone Creamery.  We had the buffet at the Mooseburger Lodge and it was okay for buffet food.  The Cold Stone Creamery had quite a long line and they did not do a good job of opening up the other register/ice cream stone slab quickly to get the many customers through the line.

They also have a few games and they are fun; their 3-point basketball game is a lot of fun if you are a basketball fan, but it is expensive.

If you are on the west coast, Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of the few choices for big and thrilling rides.  If you are into that, you should consider going to Six Flags at least once.  Unfortunately, I think you will have to purchase the fast pass to have an enjoyable experience; otherwise, the long lines might be incredibly frustrating.

Six Flags Magic Mountain has its own parking lot and like other amusement parks / sports stadiums, parking is expensive.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the perfect place for the public to experience some safe adrenaline rushes. This amusement park is the best for rollar coasters, some of the best rides in California. Famous rides like Goliath, the ancient but still exciting Viper and Batman, and my favorite X2. Six Flags is awesome for anybody of any age (if you reach the height limit).

Downfalls: Everything, other than the ticket to get in, is expensive so bring money, or come in on a full stomach. I feel like the roller coasters are enough to make a tourist happy :]

Recommendation- get in line for X2, the line gets long, because its the best ride at the park.

pretty fun for thrill seekers, but not exactly so suitable for families with small childrens. Weekends are almost always packed so it's better to choose to go on a week day. Most of the rides are great, my personal favorites are x2, goliath, gold rusher, superman, and viper. Dejavu is always having technical difficulties and batman always left me with a painful neckache, but it's still worth it.
Will go back again for sure.

Six Flags on a day when rain is called but rain does not actually hit is a day of momentous fun.  The queues . . . what queues?  At least for the first half of the day there were no queues and I waited no longer than a couple of minutes for rides.  I would go multiple times through a ride. It was amusement park bliss.

When the heat went away the people arrived. I suppose they were the season ticket holders.  No biggie.  Most of the fun was had and leisurely waits were expected though I gotta say I began to feel like Eric Cartman as my wait in the queues grew progressively longer into the night.

The food could be better.  But, that is another review.

Love Magic Mountain! I had so much fun. The Roller coasters were all amazing. Best hands down is X2! What a rush! Second Superman and third Goliath (g-forces almost made me black out! :-).

Went the Saturday after thanksgiving and it wasn't that crowded at all. Longest wait was for X2 in the morning at about an hour, the rest averaged at about 20 minutes with a couple coasters having no wait at all. Second run on X2 at the end of the day was only ~20 minutes.

Got 12  coasters rides in a day and tried all 8 extreme coasters and 2 medium coasters with two rides on X2 and two rides on Superman.

Obviously food is expensive, but  what do you expect it's a theme park! A lot of people bring a cooler of food and leave it in the car to eat at lunch time.

The ticket prices are great! Got the online deal at 35$ a person. I felt that was a steal considering the quality and amount of rides you get. I just wish the park was open a few hours longer so I could get more rides in, but still did OK in  8 hours.

I can't wait to go back. I am thinking of planning another trip for the spring time.... Love love love SFMM!!!!

*Tips. Don't carry anything with you except credit card, ID, Cellphone and car key and wear a shirt or jacket with a zipped pocket. That way you don't have to worry about where to put your stuff. Leave purses, hats and backpack in the car. Also make sure your shoes are securely tied on! A girl lost her shoes on X2 :(

Makes me want to do to the Six Flags dance like the bald guy on the commercials.

Been going here since I was a little kid and always have liked the rides, just the long lines have always sucked, but well worth it!!

X2 is the most fantastic ride ever made. Went on that twice back to back. The Riddler, Batman, and one other ride starting getting redundant. Goliath was pretty awesome; nice drop at the beginning. Colossus & Viper are old standards. Dec. 23, hardly any lines!

Came here on Monday of Columbus Day. It was surprisingly not that crowded. We got to ride in almost all the rides. I haven't been here since my high school days. So, it was pretty exciting to ride the new rides that they put in. I loved X2! It was very exhilarating. Also, the Green Lantern ride was CRAZY! I have never screamed so loud in my entire life. It may not look that much when you see the ride, but it was pretty darn good for me to feel all sorts of crazy stomach flips! haha.. Goliath will always be a great classic ride for me too.

Also, we tried the funnel cakes and the frozen bananas. They were awesome! My friend says that the frozen bananas were the best he's ever had. It was my first time having one. So, I don't have anything to compare it to.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a Theme Park that has been inconsistent in it's 'theme' over the past few decades.  It used to be more about Bugs Bunny and Tweety Bird, but now is more about Superman, Batman, and the rest of the DC Universe.  Magic Mountain does not offer the same ambiance and themed experienced as you will find at Disneyland, or even Knott's Berry Farm.  However, I don't think that most people come to Magic Mountain for the theme.  People come here for crazy, scary rides, and there are plenty of those here.

We recently visited Magic Mountain for my son's 15 birthday, and he wanted to hit up all of the biggest and fastest rides.  As we entered the park, we were handed a map and a list of all the rides and attractions in the park.  On that list was a section dedicated to thrill rides that have a "Max" rating.  My son wanted to ride almost every ride on list, which included:

    Batman The Ride
    Déjà Vu
    Goliath
    Green Lantern
    Scream
    Tatsu
    The Riddler's Revenge
    Viper
    X2

We rode every one of these rides, except for Déjà Vu (which is very similar to Boomerang at Knott's).  Of these rides, X2 and Tatsu were definitely the scariest.  If there was a rating beyond Max, these two would definitely be worthy.  They also all had the longest lines.  Green Lantern was also a scary ride with a long line, but  lasted only a few seconds.  I felt like I blinked and it was over.

The lines for all of the other rides were fairly short.  I had never seen rides that short at Magic Mountain before.  I think it was because we headed to some of the older rides first instead of going strait to X2.  We rode Goliath, Colossus, and Scream all within about 30 minutes.  It was a great way to kick things off when getting to the park and being excited to get on some rides.  Waiting in the lines for X2 and Tatsu was kind of a downer towards the end of the day, but the lines were probably much shorter than when we arrived.

Magic Mountain is the best Theme Park I have ever been to when it comes to thrill rides.  It can use some polish and refinement, but it still offers a great time if you are looking to ride some of the best rides around.   If you are looking for a theme, Disneyland is a much better option.

If you're into thrill rides, this is definitely one place to stop by when you're visiting or living in California.

The waiting times at rides definitely proved themselves worthy of waiting for the rides. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves there, even though we didn't get to try out some of the water rides we enjoyed the coasters.
