When I moved here, I left behind my best friend and hair stylist.. having your best friend do your hair is ideal, cheap, and you can tell her anything.. it's perfect. I searched for 3 years trying tons of different salons. I paid anywhere from $20-$150 for a haircut and couldn't find a stylist I really connected with.

A few months ago I got the itch to get some color in my hair before winter hit and I felt drab. I stopped into Sit Still which I'd passed by hundreds of times on Main St. and they hooked me up with Jen for a highlight/trim.

Jen and I chatted with ease for the next hour or so.. you know those stylists that talk WAY TOO MUCH or are so awkward you have nothing to say to them? Well, that is NOT Jen.. she's easygoing, sweet, and someone I really felt like could be a friend.

She did a great job coloring my hair and I haven't even had to have a re-touch in 4 months! It's growing out perfectly!

Next, I sent my husband (who also bounced around from salon to barbershop) to Jen and she cut his hair cuter than I've seen it for 5 years! I love it!

Finally, we found our girl in LA! We've both been back to see Jen several times since our first cuts and now I won't go to anyone else!

I just came back from a fantastic haircut with Jen. She's attentive, conversational without being strained, and very talented. She turned my "just hanging there" long hair into adorable Zooey Deschanel locks, and she did it in under 45 minutes without appearing to rush at all. The best part was she did such a good job, my hair AIR DRIES perfectly. I've only seen her and Zack but both of them are about as good as it gets.  I've been going to this salon exclusively for cuts and straightening since I first walked in two years ago, and every time I walk out I get compliments immediately. And that's from a work environment full of nerds!
Sit Still is especially great if you have a love/hate relationship with your curls. Zack is from Ireland so he really knows his way around thick, crazy curls: how to thin them out just right so they make perfect spirals with minimal effort on your part. He will make your hair look like a hair products commercial, I kid you not. If you're in "hate" curls mode, they do a lovely Brazilian blow out for AT LEAST $150 less than anyone else on the west side. Hell, everything Sit Still does is about half the price of all the salons down the street, and they do it better!

Today I had my first wash and cut at Sit Still Salon and couldn't ask for a better experience! At first, I was hesitant because of the negative reviews, but after much contemplation, I decided to give it a try.

I was a walk-in and Mary took me in right away.  She was this small, spunky little person filled with personality and had badass red/blonde hair.  Because it was my first time there I didn't want anything too crazy, so I explained to her how I wanted a few inches off and some oomph.  She started off by washing my hair (which by the way felt so good it literally made my eyes roll back) and sat me down and started chopping away.  She was so attentive, and not only listened to everything I asked but chimed in and gave me her two cents (which I love because I am no hair expert).

After some blow drying and styling - voila! She transformed my flat, lifeless, hair to sassy, voluminous fuck-me hair! Not only that, she recommended what products would work best with my hair type. Honestly, I never had my hair look and feel better. Definitely will be back!

Went there for a blow dry after walking by many times.
DON'T do walk in. Blow dry 101 ..straight out of beauty school
No understanding of my hair or my recent cut elsewhere .
Only very talented people can make a $300.00  cut look common immediately,  and flat within an hour...lol .not so much.
    Went elsewhere for a redo.

I've been going to Sit Still for over a year now, and I've been happy with the results every time (from 3 different stylists). The first time I went in I was a hair color virgin. The stylists were very gentle with me and listened to my needs. One time my appointment was late and I was given a bottle of quality shampoo as an apology. The owners care about their clients. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because I have nothing to compare them to, and can't vouch for "as good as it gets" because of this! I'd highly recommend them, either way!

After moving to LA 2 years ago, I had yet to find a hair stylist I love. Well, Sit Still was just the place. Because of the Hot On Yelp deal, I ventured to try it out - cut and highlights for a screaming deal, I couldn't NOT try it out. So, I scheduled an appointment with Tommy early on a Saturday morning because I did not want to get stuck in Saturday beach traffic. He was fabulous - I was on time and he was opening up the shop and sat me right down. If I recall correctly, he asked me how early I wanted my appointment when I was scheduling, and I think he would've accomodated me if I even said 8am!

Color was awesome - I wanted a darker look for Fall and he guided me to the perfect low lights. I left liking the cut and color, but the real test for me is the next day when I wash and style my own hair. Not bad!! And the next few months the cut grew out nicely. I think he is a real professional and I will be back! I think he may even be better than the stylist I loved back home, only because it grew out better and lasted longer before I looked shaggy.

Also, about the salon - I liked that it wasn't stuffy. I don't need yuppy surroundings, just a good cut when I come in.

Leave it to Yelp deals to get me my new stylist. :)

I've been to too many salons where they try to get you in and out in less than 10 minutes! What kind of service is that? I've also been to salons where the service was great, but boy did they cost an arm and a leg! Sit Still Salon is a cute shop located in Venice Beach. My stylist Mary is one a kind! She listens to what I have to say, she's honest, and puts in her advice when needed. She follows through with great service and my hair turned out the way I wanted it. The color is just right and the haircut is amazing. I couldn't ask for a better stylist.

Needless to say I was curly and frizzy weeks into the process. Not ever getting one from here again.

    Wow, this place is great!

After debating for weeks over what to do about my grown-out and sad highlights, the name of this salon caught my eye in the list of 'hot on yelp' promo places.  I'd noticed it while walking by (I live in the area) many times and had always wondered if it was any good.  I decided that my sad hair just couldn't wait for the promo so I went ahead and gave them a call.

They were so nice to fit me in the same day.  I was put in the caring and capable hands of Jennifer, who not only touched up my terrible roots seamlessly and made me look like a 'natural' blond again, but toned the color back down from the stark whiteness it had become to a nice believable golden color.  Even though it was super busy at the salon she was really attentive and made sure to check back on me frequently when I was sitting under the heat/dryer.  She also thoughtfully put a few foils underneath since I wear my hair up a lot, and trimmed my bangs.  She was very friendly and super cool.

Everyone else there was super friendly to me, too. My color came out really great, I love it.  Their prices are very reasonable.  I'm so glad I've found Jen and my new salon - and it's even in my own neighborhood.  Perfect!

HAIR DONE, nails done, EVERYTHING DID!!!

Oh yessss, I definitely felt FANCY after getting my 'hair did' by my stylist, MARY. To be honest, I've been a client of Marys since she was cutting in the BAY AREA, so I was super sad when I heard that she was going to leave for her endeavors in LA =(. Not only was I sad for her departure, but more importantly, WHO WAS GOING TO CUT MY HAIR??? It took me 24 years to find a great stylist, and I was not ready to go on the hunt again.

When I visited my friends in LA the past weekend, I made sure I payed a visit to Sit Still Color Salon. I was surprise when the cut and treatment was ONLY $35!!! Whhhaaaatttt??? I might have to visit LA more often now.

Like always, Mary and I shared a few stories, laughs, and before I knew it, I was back to looking FABULOUS again =)

    THANKS MARYYYY!!!!!

Thank You Hot On Yelp!!!! :D

Now I usually only get my hair cut twice a year, but I waited a bit longer this time.  Okay... much longer...about 16 months.  It was the longest my hair has ever been.  I figured that since I'm just about to change jobs, finished my first semester of grad school, and there is an awesome yelp deal, that this would be a great time to get a cut.  Also my mom was visiting and she really wanted to get a haircut too so I decided to look up all of the Hot on Yelp Salons.

Sit Still caught my eye after spending a good amount of time on salon research.  Great reviews and $35 for a cut and treatment (reg 70) it was an easy decision. I called in and set up an appointment with Bo and I couldn't be happier with the result of my hair.  She gave me a moisturizing conditioning treatment, cut off 5-6 inches of hair, trimmed my practically grown out bangs, and styled my hair with some loose curls that lasted the whole day.

For me the ultimate test on a haircut is if my hair looks good after I wash and let it air dry.  I'm super low maintenance so this is a darn important test.  I'm glad to say that Bo's cut passed with flying colors! :D

I will definitely be coming back!  Deep down I hope they extend their 50% hot on yelp deal forever haha

*side note* my mom also LOVED her hair done by Sam.  I think she may drive up from the OC when she needs another hair cut :)

Its a bit sad... I really wanted to like this place.  My hairstylist was really nice and friendly.  My haircut was OK but nothing to write home about.  What really put me off was that they lacked a bit of the basics

-- I arrived on time for my appointment however the hairstylist was 10 minutes late.  I was his first customer of the day.

-- The receptionist (read: hairstylist who did not currently had a customer and was standing there acting as the receptionist) gave me a cup of tea.  I asked her for green tea but the tea was red.  Plus there was coffee stains on the outside because the cup wasnt washed well.  I immediately gave the entire cup back.  My second cup was correct = green tea.  She gave me an excuse that it was red because of some leftover stains.  That explaination did NOT make it any better.  If anything, you just admitted to me that you don't wash your cups thoroughly.  I didn't take but one sip of the second cup because it grossed me out.

-- Right when I sat down, he asked me if I wanted a gloss treatment.  You don't ask a girl with bone straight jet-black asian hair, untouched to any type of coloring treatment whatsoever if she wants a gloss treatment.  Most likely, it's already shiny.  No pressure to buy any products at the end though.  I always hated that anyway.

-- After he was done with the shampoo, he just told me to get up and walk to the chair.  He didnt wrap my hair in a towel or anything.  So I was dripping wet all over the floor and all over my shirt.  My shirt was still wet when I was done with the cut.

    Again, the basics...
My experience would have been perfect if they just nailed down some common sense stuff.. basically.. the basics!!

I've been to Hill twice now and can't say enough good things about her.  Here are some highlights form my previous review along with some new stuff:

OH MY GOODNESS!!  Did I just find a salon/stylist that I L-O-V-E?  By golly, I think I did!

You move to a new city and the 3 things you hate leaving behind: 1) gyno 2) dentist and 3) (most importantly) hair stylist.  These 3 people are staples and can really make or break your experience in a new city.  I had tried a place in Venice (see my review for paper scissors rock) but just didn't mesh well with it.  Hill I just mesh with.  She's just a doll and a half.  I love chatting with her about Venice and boys and where to meet boys in Venice.   It was the kind of experience where you walk out feeling like a million bucks.  For style, cut, full highlights it put me back about $130 + tip (TOTALLY reasonable)

The ambiance of the place is super cute (fun local photos hanging on the wall), mumford & sons playing, and the staff is super friendly/accommodating.

I LOVE sit still and I just LOVE Hill.  She does a great job, she has a great personality, her prices are reasonable, and her schedule is super flexible (she's a Venice local!).  You won't be disappointed!

Paul, Zac, whatever the name is that you go by -

Forgive me for writing a thorough review, isn't that the point of Yelp?  To answer your question "What would you have written if we hadn't refunded you?", I would have written the same review, with the addition of a lack of professionalism when it comes to customer dissatisfaction.  But you've already displayed that with your immature comment "We don't want you back".  Well, as I said, I don't plan on coming back, and I'll now make sure that whenever anyone mentions hair, I will strongly encourage them NOT to visit your salon.  Careful what you say on here, it reflects back on your business.

Sit Still is a decent salon, but their booking process is a nightmare. I particularly loved any haircut/highlight that Zac did on my hair. The last time I visited the salon I had a scheduled appointment with Zac once again. Well, I show up and Zac says he has another event he has to run off to and I am shoved off onto another stylist. When you specifically go to a salon for one stylist this doesn't really seem promising. Needless to say, my hair was not anything like I liked and I ended up never going back. I can't stand the fact that I'm a paying customer who can't receive an appointment that is properly booked. They had my phone number and I would have much rather been told that Zac would be unavailable instead of me driving in and and only being told once I arrived. Sometimes the little things say volumes...

I have lived in LA for four and a half years (gasp!), and it took me four years to find a stylist I like. I did the cheap beauty-school route until the girl I loved graduated and some newbie gave me polkadots when I asked for funky highlights. Then I did some sidewalk special for first-timers at TRIM on Abbott Kinney, where the young lady stylist gave me something that would have been great on a soccer mom in the 80's, but not a 22 year old in 2007.

Finally I gave Sit Still a whirl, and after describing my style/what I was looking for to the receptionist, she recommended Kazumi. I've been to her since May, and I have to say that she gives the best hair cuts I have ever had (which is saying a lot considering I used to only see one of the international educators for Paul Mitchell).

Kazumi is really sweet, has great style, and really "gets me". I don't even tell her what I want anymore, I just sit down and let her do whatever she wants (which is always pretty amazing and fun). I get complimented all the time on my hair and have to always make sure to carry a few copies of her card with me so I can give it out, because I will inevitably be asked.

I'm going again tonight and I CAN'T WAIT!

I moved here from the great state of MT in December... in January I had my hair done by someone at a place that shall remain unnamed... my hair was orangey, uneven, and un cute!! I lazily wore my hair up for the next few weeks deciding whether or not I was ready to venture elsewhere until it happened.... I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!! -I flipped out, 2 inches of roots - poofy heavy layers, bangs falling in my face... I was done.

Sundays mean one thing: Mimosas. While on my trek to the World Cafe, I drove down main and spotted Sit Still. I chuckled to myself... "Sit Still" how fitting for a hair salon... they must be witty... you cant have a witty name and do a crappy job, right??? So the following week I made an appointment with my dearest Tommy.

Tommy did a FANTASTIC job, he listened to my wants, my likes, my dislikes... he and I chitchatted through out my visit.... he made the "Oh honey, please don't" face when I said I wanted to go a bit blonder :o) He was amazing. I walked out of that salon with 100% better hair, not brassy, pretty honey-wheat blonde color, soft layers, and perfect bangs. I could not ask for more. -When I was on my way out the door Tommy joked  "Now don't go cheating on me..." and I said... "dont you worry, Tommy, I just had to find the right person to settle down with."  ;o)

I will be back to Tommy for a "Brazilian Blowout" and I cant wait, he really is the best!

Sit Still is a lovely salon with a lot to offer the stylish girls and guys of the Westside.  I've been coming to Sit Still for nearly a year, and I love the laid-back atmosphere.  My favorite stylists are Kazumi and Tommy.  They both do a kick-ass job whether it's a cut or color.  They both take the time to listen to you and get a sense of your style and personality before breaking out the shears.  This never happened when I was getting my hair cut at a famous BH salon... so I gotta give props.

I have only once had an issue and that was when someone else did my hair--(not Tommy/Kazumi) and I immediately called them to figure it out once I had gotten home and checked it out.  This salon wants you to be happy, so they will work to make it right.  You do, however, have to communicate with your stylist or the manager.

A tip: If you're not sure who to work with, ask the person at reception.  They will be able to give you a good assessment of who will do a good job, depending on your style and hair type.  I know that they also specialize in curly hair here (which I do not have)...but that some of the stylists are better than others in this area.
Another tip: park in the parking lot across from the drugstore, on main and rose.  Unless it's the weekend.  :/ Then go for the garage.

I just got my hair cut with Mary at Sit Still and she was amazing!!! She was so friendly, funny, knowledgeable  and knew exactly what to do. I came in without knowing what I wanted, so I told her different ideas, and she took the time to go through what each one would look like until I settled on something that a lazy person like myself could rock. :)

I got the treatment and cut, and the treatment was awesome and made my hair look so much healthier, and the cut is amaazing! I didn't know what I wanted to look like when I left, but I love what Mary did. Not only did she give me a great cut, but she also took the time to teach me all the different ways to style it, etc. She definitely went above and beyond and I highly recommend her!!  Thanks a ton Mary! :)

Merrielle is the best stylist i've very had the pleasure of cutting my hair. she's so wonderful, and talented. I'll never see anyone ever again, if she ever leaves i will follow her.
she doesn't do any of the cheap small talk, she's articulate and intelligent. she puts you at easy in her chair and then talks you though the whole cut. she gives you exactly what you want. if she feels like the cut you suggest doesn't work, she's very honest. she makes everything come together beautifully and you leave feeling like a million bucks. the best part though has to be that she shows you how to style your hair just like she does it, step by step so you can do it at home.
Merrielle is the most talented hair stylist!

I was sitting at home when I saw a picture of Drew Barrymore on set with a new short hairstyle. I decided that I needed that same style...immediately.
Laura took one look at the picture I brought in and then gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for.  A week later I sent my sister in for a cut and she came out with the most beautifully blended layers.  I highly recommend all the stylists here.  They create the most face flattering styles of any salon I've been to.

This is the best hair salon in LA, I always love my haircut .... The boss Mr. Z is the best, always takes the time no matter how busy he is to keep perfecting the cut. The staff is great, very attentive, and always make you feel special. I highly recommend Sit Still ... The prices are great too ..... Brilliant! 5 Stars plus!

I initially went in wanting a Brazil Blow-out and they said they offer something better - the Coppola Keratin Complex treatment.  They did tell me that I should not wash my hair for 3 days after the treatment.  What they did NOT warn me about is that after they add the chemicals to my hair and use the flat iron, my hair would feel like I had not wash in for 3 months and look like a total grease pit.  How on earth could I go anywhere with my new greasy head of hair, let alone NOT wash it for 3 days?  The first thing I did when I got home was wash it twice.  $200 plus tip out the door.  Just know what you are getting into before you do the service.  I'm sure it is a great service for someone who has time to have greasy hair for 3 days straight.  I have a job and cannot have greasy hair for 3 days.  So this was a learning experience for me.  The owner of the salon and person who made the appointment need to be more honest about what the client is going to experience up front.  Had they told me I would leave the salon with greasy hair that smelled burnt and felt totally greasy, I would have passed.  Lesson learned.

    Parking is terrible over there.

I know, I know.  I should have done more research before just walking into a salon and getting a haircut.  But I thought,  "Hey, how bad could it be?  I've got long, straight hair.  It can't be screwed up that bad, right?"  Oh, I was so... so... wrong.

I was looking for a new hair stylist, and I'm really open to trying new places.  So,  after doing a bit of research on-line, I found good reviews on City Search (before I discovered yelp, my bad) for this place in Venice,  I decided to give Sit Still a shot.  It sounded like a cool place with a laid back vibe, and they advertised a walk-in cut for $44!  Nice!  So, I pulled up, walked in, and asked for a trim.  I was matched up with a cute, young chick... I thought this would work, she could give me a fun, current cut.  She set me up in the old-school red vinyl barbers chair in the front window and started to cut away.  And she kept cutting, and kept cutting, and kept cutting.  After she was done, she had fluffed out the layers in the back, I paid my $44 and took off.  It wasn't until I washed my hair the next day that I noticed I had one long layer on the bottom and one short layer on top.  I had asked for choppy layers, but what I got was a SHELF!  Two gigantic layers!

I should have complained to the management, but I was just so over it.  I'm pretty sure the girl I was set up with was in training, but come on!  If you have a new customer come into your salon, you should be making sure that they receive quality service and want to come back again.  I hate writing bad reviews, but I wouldn't feel right not letting people know about this place.  I'm sure the other stylists recommended on yelp are good... just make sure you go in with a name of one recommended to you and DON'T let them stick you with anyone else!

    I want to be clear:
    1. The shampoo girl at Sit Still is very nice.

    But:
    1. The haircut I got here is so bad it keeps me up at night.
    2. I got this haircut a month ago. It gets worse every day.

    And:
    5. The stylist wouldn't shut up about how bad my previous haircut was.

    When, ironically:
    6. I loved my previous haircut, and so did everyone who saw it. I paid $150 for that haircut, and it was worth every goddamn penny. It f*cking kills me that I can't afford that kind of haircut anymore.

    On top of this:
    7. I was charged for a blowdry that was, at best, 2/3 complete.
    8. The stylist did not put product in my hair to smooth it out after his half-assed blowdry.
    9. The stylist told me my hair was 'ashy' and suggested I come back for a color.

    Interestingly:
    10. My hair never appeared ashy before that haircut.  Now, it does. It is as if this one terrible haircut changed the constitution of my hair forever. Like my hair said - you gave up on me, I am giving up on you.

If you are used to good haircuts and can still afford them, just don't do it. Seriously. Save yourself.

Just a follow up FYI and response to Zach who contacted me for reimbursement via a YELP post for everyone to read.  Sure, kind gesture.  However, I called to take him up on his offer; he never took my calls, never returned my calls and never sent me a reimbursement.  Sort of shows you that this place/people have very little or no class.

Sit Still has a great, friendly, unpretensious atmosphere and some kick ass stylists. I go to Bobby, who not only gives you a great haircut, he gives you the haircut you WANT. Meaning he really listens to what you want your hair to look like, and will go out of his way to make sure you're satisfied, even if it means you coming back and getting it changed until satisfied-for free. He's also great at color and other styling needs. Go see him!

After trying pretty much every salon special on the West Side, I finally stumbled upon Sit Still nestled behind Long's Drugs on Main Street now CVS. Not only was the $99 cut and color special a great deal, I got to ride my bike there which was an added bonus. Tommy did an awesome job with my hair. I wanted a rich dark one process color and a trim. He was able to give me a noticeable haircut without cutting too much length. He was explaining the steps to an apprentice and I appreciated the extra knowledge. He answered all my questions( like how to style my awkward almost grown out bangs) and I knew I was in very skilled hands.  I will definitely be coming back to see Tommy when my color grows out. He expressed he had a plan for my hair, which is a perfect way to get a repeat customer coming back for more.

i went there once, about 3 years ago...the stylist was amazing, but way to expensive for my taste.
yelp had a deal, so i decided to try them again.
i showed up on time for my appointment, and asked for the stylist i was told i was booked with. she was at the front desk and said: that's odd, i have an other client and can't take you.
then i was told i was to be taken care of by the owner. her hair looked great, incredible color, so i was happy. she informed me she was over booked and could not take me either.
keep in mind i had driven to venice fromt he valley just for this appointment, and i needed my color done.
and they take your phone number when booking an appointment, so they could have called me and rebooked or told me not to come.
then i was offered an other person, who was an assistant (i figured this out as she asked for direction to the owner for everything she did). before i said yes, i asked if she was good, and the owner said she does nto employ anyone who is not excllent, or very qualified.....
the person doing my hair kept trying to sell me on a brazillian blow out....moroccan oil makes my hair nice and shiney, takes care of my fly-away hairs...no brazilian blow out needed here.
my hair looked good when i left, not amazing, but good. within a week, my highlights got so dry and light, i had to go and get my hair recolored as soon as i could.
so, don't go there unless yiou get the owner, and know your stylist...and the salon shoudl not offer deals on yelp or any other site if they can't handle the volume of new clients.
    i won't be back.

I woke up this morning with a "That's it" on my hair and my regular stylist is never available on Sundays. So here I go at 6am searching http://Yelp.com to find another salon that is similar to my experiences I get while in Beverly Hills but still affordable pricing. I looked for an hour and kept coming back to "Sit Still". I liked the reviews, I could tell that the Owners were active on http://Yelp.com and very competitive pricing. I did some Salon window shopping prior to going to "Sit Still" and once again the other salons prices were outrageous compared to what I was willing to pay.
So knowing that they opened up at 10am on Sunday, I ventured over there. Met a sweet lady named Jennifer and went over what I wanted and my hair. I confirmed that the pricing set on http://Yelp.com was still available (75 for semi-color and cut)....like WOW who does that these days?
Then I met one of the owners Laura, who confirmed what Jennifer and I had discussed and then we got started. I got a great semi-color from Jennifer and then started chatting with Zach (the other owner) and really felt like they were real people, down to earth, not too wild, very friendly but very hip and chic with the cut.
By the time we got to the cut done and colors and all that jazz, I could see a beautiful result with the color, how it was layered and the stylet. I officially became a fan. I was so happy with the hair style and the cut and everything else. Such a great job. I felt very comfortable that Zach was cutting my hair properly. I didn't have a a care in the world, which people knowing me before I can get pretty nervious with some people.
I highly recommend this salon to anyone. I am sure you too will be pleased with your results.  And just a slight mention, all the reviews are really great. So this only confirms that this is a great place to get your haircut and my gosh, the pricing is the best in all of West LA in my estimation.

I found this place through yelp reviews and booked and appointment for highlights and lowlights.  I didn't have a specific stylist picked out but I got matched up with Bo.  She is AMAZING!  She asked me a lot of questions to really lock down what I was looking for and she did exactly what I asked and it was 100 times more amazing that what I envisioned :)  I move around a lot and am always seeing different stylists.  I'm never 100% happy with the colors i have received in the past.  I am a blond and just wanted some natural golden coloring throughout.  In the past, my hair has always turned out too blond, too brown, too orange, etc.  Bo did my color PERFECTLY.  I've never been happier with my hair and the price is also really decent for what I had done!  Not only is Bo great at what she does, she is also a very mellow, sweet smart person.  It's always nice to be in good company when you're at a salon for a few hrs!  Bo was also quick and I was out of there much sooner than I expected.  I plan to go back soon for a haircut and I'm going to try out the Keratin treatment as well....I think she said it was around 200-250.  Pretty awesome!  I can't wait to see what magic Bo turns out this time.

I was in need of a haircut and called the salon on a Sunday. 20 minutes later I was able to get an appointment with Billy, a stylist new to the salon, and trained at Vidal Sassoon Academy. Being from NYC and having been to the NYC Sassoon Salon, I literally got a $100 haircut for $60, and Billy had charged me the $44 promo price. The salon was chill for a Sunday, India Arie was playing on the speakers and I felt very relaxed. Billy was very attentive and listened as I told him my hair pet peeve--growing out bangs without looking like a sheepdog. I ended up with an awesome haircut--soft layers framing my face to incorporate my long bangs, and my hair now parted to the side!  I tipped him happily with the $ I saved and I got a ton of compliments walking home.  I am waiting for my next paycheck so I can come back next week,  and get highlights!

Tommy is a color genius- my roommate said it and I agree.  He did her hair- brown with blond highlights, and mine- lots of blond, with cuts.  Our hair looked great.  He's also very personable.  I've been to so many salons and stylists in LA and am very picky.  Tommy is great with color and cuts!  Go to him!
