I'm a huge fan of dessert and I came here with my friend for dessert and coffee.  Here's what we had:

Bittersweet chocolate tart - the chocolate was smooth, rich, not too sweet and came with a really good pistachio ice cream on top of a cute cookie.

Pumpkin cheesecake (THE WINNER) - this was the most delicious cheesecake I've ever had.  It blew all the cheesecakes I've had at Cheesecake Factory out of the water.  What do I even begin??  It tasted like fluffy and soft pillows of pumpkin goodness.  My friend and I raved about how awesome this was and kept digging in.

I'm definitely coming back here just for the pumpkin cheesecake.

Oh yea, the ambiance was nice, the fireplace was lit and the lighting makes your skin look flawless.

Not that I'm into it or anything, but Sip seems like a good place for cougar watching...

I know there really isn't that much nightlife happening in Issaquah, but this place definitely was not my cup of tea.

Come on Issaquah!

My husband and I thought the food was pretty good, just wish there was more of it. I am a small/petite girl with a healthy appetite and for spending over $30 on 2 small appetizers. I was pretty bummed we just didn't go get my favorite Mexican dish down the road and spend half that and have leftovers.

The atmosphere seemed cool, but sometimes the people make it or break it and it was a pretty snobby feeling in there.

I will probably give this place one more shot.  Maybe I went on a lame night? Well it is Issaquah......

Love.

I love this place! I've driven by for years now and have heard various reviews from friends...but it was late last night, but a buddy and I didn't feel like going into the city.

Ordered a beer, salad, and the sliders. Actually, 2 orders of the sliders.

DELISH!

The bread was toasted sweet Hawaiian bread with a special glaze, and the dipping sauce was a special house creation of a spicy, asian fusion blend that was to die for.

I might actually hold my birthday party here, as I loved the ambiance, and my guest and I were chatting with the bartender for awhile...excellent vibe here.

I've read the other reviews...to each their own. I was dressed in gym clothes (just left the gym) and still felt just as comfortable.

I love Sip, and will definitely be back.

In my quest to eliminate stress, I met up with a friend at Sip. What a great eastside find! Great wine flights (I had the bubbly flight, yum) - they have a fantastic wine selection and will pour half glasses upon request. We had the Ahi Poke - wow wow wow, amazing. Also, the chips and dip - not what you expect, very good. The cheese plate, also yummy. It was love at first entrance, great atmosphere (they play really nice electronica chill). The bathroom is fun, you enter through a WC door and the sinks are unisex - they have video monitors inside the mirrors so you can watch the bar - too cool!

I get why this place has such a high rating.  Isaquahtites are celebrating that civilization is making baby steps towards their wild and unruly vicinity.  It's nice to go out once in a while without having to drive for half an hour.  So, they do not want to spook off the little wine bar restaurant creature.

I can also guess why Sip Wine Bar and Restaurant has this strange situation with food.  The entire budget was spent on the bar décor (good job, by the way).  And perhaps, the owner's friend agreed to cook for them with a big discount in pay.  So, I have a suggestion.  It is easy.  Remove the "Restaurant" part from the title and remove all the food you serve.  You will become a decent bar with pleasant ambience.

Sip. Selection.  $12 for that?  Really?!  For one little sad looking cheese?  The funky coloured tortilla chips were tasty though.  Whole Foods?

The soup of the day.  Okay, lukewarm soup with the cold crab cake floating in it, is not something I expected.   Get a new microwave, really.  The crab cake with cold middle was seriously gross.

The ravioli of the day.  Too. Much. Salt.  Trader Joe's carries a pretty good selection of frozen pastas.  Try those ones.  And do not put salt.  They come pre-salted.

Halibut.  It was alright.  However, the carrot purée...  Remove that awfully tasting spices and you have a potential of having one decent dish.

Resume: Good wine bar potential and bad food that made my taste buds feel depressed and suicidal.

For a wine bar in this location you should have higher expectations. The wine is fine, and they have some good choices for a picky wine nut. But the atmosphere is not up to par with a lot of other wine bars in king county. The best part is that there are good looking ladies filling there stomachs with wine, but not worth visiting if you don't already live in the neighborhood.

4 and 5 stars? no, really?! What did I miss?!

Was it the crab soup that reminded me of Campell's clam chowder concentrate with a sad frozen crab cake in the middle?
Was it the shrimp salsa in baby-can-portion together with some disgusting spinach-dip thingie and tzatziki sauce? (tzatziki was fine). And I am sorry, these three just don't go together. Even with tortilla chips.
Was it the wine flight that was plain bad?

This is one of those never-ever-ever-ever-again places for me.

Lets just say that they have a good wine list, unfortunately it's over priced.  The place has a very pretentious vibe.  I do not think I will be going out of my way to go their again.  Sorry Sip.... you have potential but you are just not there yet.  Good luck.

I've been to Sip for dinner and happy hour.  I was very pleased with the quality of the food.  For happy hour, we ordered sweet roll sliders, sip. dips, ceviche and salsa,  hand cut fries, and the truffle mac-n-cheese.  The happy hour food selections are all 1/2 off, which is a great deal!  Dinner is definitely pricey, but worth it, in my opinion (unlike my experience at Joey's, boo).  Sip has great ambience, excellent service and really tasty food.  It reminded me a little of the menu at Vino, which made me wonder if they are owned by the same people.  You will not be disappointed going to either restaurant!

After being given our check by our waiter at Purple in Kirkland the other night when we weren't done drinking we decided to head here.  My partner in crime for the evening lives in Issaquah so it wasn't so far fetched, really.

We walk in and I immediately loved the place the bar in the center of the restaurant is huge and roomy and perfect.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink, the bartender asked what wines I like and he suggested the K Vintners Boom Boom Syrah.  I fell in love with the name and when I took my first sip of the sampled pour I fell in love with the wine.  It was delicious and a great pick for me.  The white wine drinker enjoyed her Russian River Chardonnay and the other went with the Boom Boom like me.

We decided on the cheese plate and it was an excellent item to nibble on while sipping our vino.  The bartender was great and put up with our antics until last call.

Oh my how could I forget the bathrooms they are worth a visit and get this while washing your hands at the unisex sinks they have video monitors so you can watch what's happening at the bar so cool if you want to see what everyone else is doing.  If you don't want to be on camera sit at the far end of bar closest to the restrooms and you're save from the cameras, at least the night I was there that spot was safe.

Sip is cool if you are a d-bag.  They used to offer great wine specials and have sneakily taken that away.  Now it is just another wanna-be contender in Pleasantville.

Fancy schmancy Issaquah joint.

The most interesting part of the restaurant is that the men and women share the same sinks -- the toilets are separate but the sinks are shared. It feels so... progressive... and European, even though I have no idea if Europeans do this or not.

Great food. Their french fries are totally kick butt. Good wine too.

A group of friends went to Sip tonight for a birthday dinner on our way to Snoqualmie Casino.  The wait staff was very good, the selection of wines is impressive, and I like the vibe of the place.  However, our meals were all just OK.....some things were very good, some things were very bad.

The parsnip soup was awful -- much too big a portion, and it was waaaay too rich and extremely thick (but under-seasoned) for an appetizer.  I had the pancetta-wrapped chicken, which was great, but the potatoes that came with it were almost cold.

Two friends got the halibut and said the fish was really wonderful.  Too bad the spinich pasta that was included had a nasty, bitter sauce; they both ate the fish and left the pasta behind.

We sampled a few desserts.....all of which were (again) just OK.  My apple cake was nice, but included a sickly sweet berry sauce that was almost inedible.  The cake would have been very nice served with a scoop of plain vanilla ice cream, but the sauce that it was swimming in ruined it.

All in all, I wouldn't make a special trip to Sip, despite the nice ambiance and attentive (and attractive) wait staff.  The food just isn't worth it.  I expect more from $30 entrees.

Great wine, good food. Nice atmosphere, better in the summer when you can use the patio.  The butter they serve with the bread is worth going there!
Sliders are probably my favorite thing on the menu!  Haven't found an entree than I crave yet.

We made the pilgrimage to Sip last night to Issaquah, WOW it's a freakin' drive! I had no idea how far it was. I love the atmosphere and thought it had a warm and inviting feel. We brought in our own wine ($15 corkage) and had the salmon and shrimp cakes they had good flavor. Also the carmel beef skewers were tasty and loved the little salad. It's good food, not too refined but good. For our entree we split the pay-day paella we both loved it however it had tiny little tomatoes on the sides that had all turned. WAY over rippened and in my opinon one of the worst tastes ever. The paella was good, however it was missing the crispy aspect that I love so much.

Untill this point I was happy.

Dessert left a bit to be desired, our french-press for two was some overly ground  coffee with luke warm water. We had wanted some fresh stuff however our server was MIA. It also took an extremly long time to deliver our microwaved, dry, bizarre bread pudding. I should never order bread pudding because it's such an art and nobody (except my Auntie T) ever gets it right.  Our server took the coffee off our final check and made kind of a production over it saying "I went ahead a took care of some items on your bill."   translation: I took the coffee off your bill that you did not drink beacause it was cold and yuck.

I had a good time and it was worth the drive, but Sip needs to take a lot more pride with their desserts. No matter how good the food is if dessert is lame it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. pun intended.

We will come back though, it was a swank little place. I really like the bathroom, wish I would have used before we left though. I-90 is a looong strech of freeway with never-ending bumps...

I have heard about this place for sometime so we stopped in for happy hour.  I had never been up in the highlands before and couldn't believe that this place existed up there.  Great atmosphere and they also had live music which was nice. The wait staff was very attentive even thought the place was very crowded.  I think Thursday's is lady's night, but not sure what that entails for them.  The happy hour menu was pretty good and the happy hour prices were only $2. off listed prices per plate.

Sip is a home run.  Great set up, beautiful bar and a really cool little "vip" booth that I need to find a way to hang out in.  The restaurant was warm and inviting and the "Water Closet" was interesting - there were separate bathrooms for men and women, however the wash area was common - so I couldn't adjust the "girls" as freely as usual.  Also - you can keep an eye on your date by the bar monitor that is set inside the mirror.  Cool!

I met a couple of friends and we sat at the bar and order the chips and dips and the ahi poke - both of which were delicious and beautiful to look at.

James was a great server/bartender who gave us great suggestions on food and wine.

Prices are fair - my only critique was the wine list was lacking "local depth", we ordered Mark Ryan's Dissident by the glass, and ended up with a bottle from Basel Cellars.
It would be cool to see more Woodinville producers on there....but all in all I'm definitely going back and will probably order dinner next time!

Update 5/14/08

We had 1 single heavy topic on the agenda last night, and decided to take the convo to Sip. A little wine and some tasty food couldn't hurt, right?

The place was full and had a good energy. The noise level was just right for us to have our talk, hear each other and not feel like others could listen in. Service was much better than my 1st experience. There was a winemaker's dinner going on, and entree selections were limited to 3, but that didn't bother me at all. I prefer stuffing my face with small plates anyway.

The apple fritter pudding was worth every single calorie. Go get some before they switch up the dessert menu!

Original Review 4/22/08

Getting there:
On my way there, I thought to myself: "There's actually a wine bar this far out on I-90? How much further? I seem to be leaving civilization now... Am I gonna end up in Chelan soon?" And then there I was, in Issaquah Highlands. Wow, nice Park 'n Ride!

Overall impression:
If my world were limited to the Eastside, I'd give Sip 4 stars. It's likely I will suggest meeting at Sip if my friends happen to be in the area. If you live on the Eastside, I'd recommend checking it out at least once. The space feels comfortable. The fireplace is a nice touch. The menu offers a good range of choices without trying too hard.

Service:
It was Thursday night and not terribly busy @ 5:30pm. I took a small table by the window, near the bar. It took quite a while before anyone acknowledged me, even though I did make eye contact with 2 of the servers working at the bar. I was so close that they could've simply waved and said hi. The waitress finally did come by with water and the menu, but never offered me the complete wine list. (I thought this was a wine bar?!) She's definitely one of those "only do the minimum" type of waitperson: no introduction, no suggestion, no explanation. She was also very keen on moving the process along. Well, I can't say she's not efficient and business-like.

Food:
My friend and I shared the Mozzarella & beets salad, and the Vietnamese beef skewers. Both were excellent. The portion size is quite healthy... at least for 2 girls.

The wrap-up:
I will most likely find myself at Sip again at some point. I don't dislike it, but it didn't wow me, either. The deals on Wednesday and Thursday nights are good, and the late night hours will come in handy.

A wonderful taste sensation in the middle of the incredible example of human blandness that is the Issaquah Highlands.

Sip is a bizarre counterpoint to the Highlands.  Sip is well decorated, the menu is balanced, the wine selection is impressive.  The Highlands are vapid, their decor obvious, the land largely undeveloped (but still devoid of trees) and the layout oppressive.

At Sip, we went through a good number of their small plates, including:

- Ahi Poke - a very citrus heavy (in a good way) poke, refreshing and light - which was interesting because there was a lot of avacado in it.

- Vietnamese Caramel Beef - which was actually sort of close to my Chinese Char Siu.  A nice dipping sauce on the side capped these skewers off.  Excellently done, and a must try.

- Sip Sweet Roll Sliders - Also a must try. For a little burger, these were simply awesome.  But .. since we had a group, they went fast and I didn't get enough tastes to really figure them out.  Also highly recommended.

- Bufala Mozzarella and beets.  Both golden and red beets with a little drizzle and ample helpings of fresh Mozzarella.  Very tasty and certainly infinitely better for your than the previous appetizers.

- Curried Clams and Pork Belly - The pork belly was really quite good.  The curry sauce was pretty salty, so I stopped at one.  This was the only dish the table didn't finish.

Then we moved on to salads.  The salads were perfect salad sized salads.

Mine was the Washington Rhubarb Salad which was rather complex with fennel, arugula, macadamias, feta chunks, rhubarb, a sweet balsamic dressing.  A great mix of savory and sweet.

The ancho steak was my main course, also a very well balanced sauce and a very good piece of meat (though my medium rare was medium well).  The rest of the table had varying degrees of medium rareness as well - with some being under done, some just right and then mine.

By the time we got there ... we were too full for sweets.  So we stopped.  Sated and happy and very impressed that such a wonderful restaurant would be located in the middle of a clear cut old growth forest.

Highly recommended.

Fine dining for those in the Issaquah Highlands.  Even after the chef change the menu still is top notch and wonderful.  Why they haven't gone to a full bar baffles me as not everyone loves wine (read: even if your spouse does) and requires the second person to drink beer.  As pointed out, the sliders are unreal as is the de facto Angus Tenderline.

I tried this place last night and it is all that and 3 bags of chips!  Everything from wine to beer to appetizers to main course meal are all very refined.  The wait staff is terrific and the decore is upscale but not pretencious.

Best of all -- the Chocolate Ravioli for dessert.  OMG.  Heaven in your mouth.

My brother lives Issaquah and we have been to Sip twice in the past couple of months.

The service is outstanding. They are very attentive, friendly and prepared.

The ahi appetizer, the curried clam/pork belly appetizer and their cheese plates are all very good.

The Ancho steak was fabulous the first time I went, but less so the second time. The meat was prepared perfectly both times, but the sauce was heavier and saltier on my second visit.

All in all I have enjoyed myself both times and I am sure we will be back.

Sip is a relatively new (opened in July 06) wine bar and restaurant located in the Issaquah highlands. Funny how they are located very near the suburbs, but the locale suits this restaurant-bar.

Sip is an upscale place with fabulous decor and ambiance. I went with my friend from out of town, and even though we were dressed like bums in shorts and tshirts, we were still greeted graciously. We were seated promptly and our server provided great service.

In the center of the restaurant is a very large wine bar. I couldn't begin to count the number of wine bottles I saw at the bar and shelved on the walls. There were plenty of staff so it looked like every patron was well cared for. The crowd seemed to be older couples or young married couples. I saw a few that looked like they were on a date. Sip would be a great place to bring a date I bet, after a pleasant evening, they could go retire at his/her condo near by!

The food on the menu looked like it was seasonal so the menu may change every so often. However, there was not too large of a selection when it came to entrees. Probably a choice between 6 or so. I had a chicken sandwich which was about 12$ and came with fries, and my friend had a steak which I remember was overpriced for the amount he got. We also ordered an appetizer, but the portions were small for what we paid. But that is usually the case with all fancy restaurants: the fancier and more complicated the food, the less you get.

I asked our waiter on what Syrah he would suggest, but he was new  did not know the selections very well, so I ended up just picking one blind. Regardless, the wine was great and I have plans to go back and sample some more.

Our meal went by pleasantly and the owner/manager herself came by to make sure we were doing OK as well. Sip is a great place to have a drink and relax. I saw a guy sitting at the bar reading a book and slowly sipping away at his wine. I personally would not do that since the lighting was too dim, but it just goes to show how relaxed people can be at a place like Sip.

Take your girlfriend or wife on a date to Sip, you won't be dissappointed, but don't travel all the way out here to Issaquah unless you already live close-by. Don't want any happy-drunk-drivers on the road!

I was totally WOWed by this restaurant tucked in the hills of Issaquah on a recent trip up to the Seattle area.  We were there on an uncharacteristically beautiful day, and had the chance to sit outdoors (albeit under the heat lamps).

The food was excellent in its preparation and its presentation. We ordered an appetizer called Dip & Chips, which came with warm pita bread served with a tasty olive tapenade, hummus, and baba ganoush.  For the main course, I was craving salmon, so I had to order it.  It was succulent and flavorful, especially with the pancetta, and I devoured everything on my plate. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

I love that this place is in my neighborhood! Not every dish I've ordered there has been a home-run, but definitely better than anything else I could have found in Issaquah. Their sliders are some of the best around and their fries are too. Love the bathroom concept--feels so naughty. I have always been pleased with the wine recommended for me, and their display is impressive. Wednesday is 1/2 price bottle of wine night, so that may make it worth the drive if you're not an eastsider. They have created a very relaxing atmosphere and I'm glad they picked the highlands as the setting.

I went to Sip with two friends, a Girls Night Out, if you will.  We sat at the bar which is surrounded by the dining area.  Staff was good & attentive, wine choices thoughtful & well-represented across the board.  We drank big reds which were pleasing, the L'Eccole 2004 Cab garnered the most votes.  We had small plates - the kabobs which were slightly over-marinated & thereby too salty & the sweet roll miniburgers which were DELICIOUS I'mnotkidding!  Sliders & miniburgs are current trend & so many places offer the little guys.  Sip's are in the top 90% in my book.  Prices are a bit up there - I agree with other reviewers:  three for the price doesn't quite cut it.

When all was said & done, we had a nice two hours of convo, good wine & pretty good food.  Who could ask for more on a rainy Thursday evening?  I'll be back at Sip real soon.

My wife and I went to Sip tonight and found it to be hip and classy, but yet casual all at the same time.

The food menu isn't expansive, but there were enough good sounding things to choose from that I had some difficulty in deciding what to eat.  They also have a few small plate or appetizer dishes that were very good (I always go for the Tuna Tartare when I see it on a menu).  The dishes were delicious as well as excellently presented.

The wine list fills a notebook, as it does at many restaurants, but this one was in really small print.  There were a lot of wines listed.  We chose to have the wine and cheese flight and a glass that was paired with the Gnocchi that my wife ordered.

The ambiance was very nice, low lighting, the wine rack to the rear of the restaurant, quiet music (sometimes hit or miss, though) and a wait staff that was both attentive, but discreet.

And one more that Sip had going for it was it's hours.  Remember that it is in the suburbs, but it closes at midnight on it's earliest night (Sunday).  Weekdays and Saturdays, it is open until 1:30 am.

We've had problems finding places to go when we want dessert when we are out late.  Now we know where to go.  And on to dessert....

I had the half baked chocolate cake and my wife had the bing cherry tiramisu - both of which were really good.  The tiramisu was soaked in merlot, a change fitting of a wine restaurant.  Surprisingly, they didn't serve espresso, but they did have pretty good coffee.

For a nice dinner, close to home or a late night dessert, Sip is someplace close and nice to go to.

So two years ago when we had that storm that put the power out for 8 days Sip saved us. We just moved to our home in Issaquah highlands and we had no fireplace in this house. Well it got really cold and we were sick of having nothing in the house. And due to the fact that all the stores were shut down we could not buy anything. Well after the 5th day we were walking around the neighborhood and heard a noise at sip. Well we walked in and they were open. They seemed like the only place in Issaquah that was open. So we sat down and they sat us by the fireplace. They explained to us that they did not have a full menu due to the fact that they were on a generator. So we looked at the menu and we were able to order pumpkin squash soup, a salad and desert. I have to say the soup was one of the best soups I Have had.
We have been there several times after that. We go there for the food not the wine. The wine I drink is the dessert wine and they charge 10.00 for a half of glass and when I can get the whole bottle for 10.00 it does not make sense to me. But they have great happy hour. One of the best things is the mini burgers. They are on the sweet Hawaiian rolls.
I would say you have to at least try this place. The service is great.

Things started off good when they said that Wednesdays were any wine under $100 was half price. They also had great flights for trying wine. So I started with a red wine flight - all tasty. I drank these with dinner. Dinner was beef tenderloin with asparagus and red pepper polenta. The steak was perfectly cooked, the asparagus was made in buttery goodness and well the polenta was fanfreakingtastic. I would go back just of a plate of the polenta it was that good. For desert we order a great bottle of champagne and I had a flight of creme brulee - the berry as divine. Our server was attentive but not obnoxious - we were sitting at the bar and she over heard us talking to the guy next to us about his champagne and she brought us samples. We couldn't finish the champagne and she corked it so we could take it to go.  I will be back.

Yay!  What a great place to have in our neighborhood!  Sip is a totally cool wine bar/restaurant in Issaquah Highlands.  My hubby, sis, her fiance, and I went there for happy hour on a Tueday and liked it so much we went back the following day for dinner.  :)  They have a great deal (half off bottles of wine under $100) on Wednesday that we wanted to take advantage of.  The wine list certainly extensive and the food is delicious!  The interior of the restaurant is very chic and the vibe is chill...we sat at the bar on Day 1 and then sat at the couches near the fireplace Day 2.  The bartender remembered us from the day before and was very courteous with all our requests.  The only slight snag was that later on when it got more crowded our waiter kept forgetting about us...we were down low on the couches, I guess out of his sightline.  It was ok though...we were taking our time enjoying all the food and wine anyway.

Amongst the four of us we tried: the steak salad (more steak than salad but delicious nonetheless), lamb (yummmy), paella (yuuummmy - big fat scallops and prawns!), sliders (melts in your mouth!), the hummus and pita platter (hummus tasted a bit too grainy and the olive spread was too salty but the eggplant spread was good), peanut butter cheesecake with a pretzel crust (do I even have to say any more?  OMG!), and cookies and ice cream (the peanut cookie was to die for!).

Although it was a bit pricey, we would definitely go back!  In fact, writing about it now makes me want to go back tonight!  :)

I can't say enough about Sip's Happy Hour!

Love Love Love the sliders.  They are truly the best ever.  The meat is perfectly cooked-juicy and slightly pink, ladled with a sauce spicy/sweet, add melty pepperjack cheese sitting on a fluffy pillow of little Hawaiian Bread rolls! Fantastic!

And don't forget the Tuna Avocada app for your omega 3's.  Delish!

Top this little meal with a juicy, plummy, big red and you can call me Fappy! (Fat and Happy)!

Service-always attentive!
Ambiance- warm with a very cool vibe

I can't believe this place got rated so high, what the heck?  This place was very disappointing and really average.  In fact, the only thing that was remarkable at all is how overpriced their menu was.

This restaurant reminds me of some dumpy girl that wears too much make up and thinks she's really hot.

Its like... am I really supposed to be excited that you guys have a dimly lit room and a guy playing jazz as if every other restaurant isn't already doing that?

If you've got extra money to spend and you don't respect yourself, give this place a shot.

Sip is a fun place to go, especially in summer when the patio is open.
I love the wine selection... very big and the waiter/waitress will help you out if you tell them what you like.
The waiters/waitresses are very sweet and attentive. Sometimes they are spread thin though.
I always enjoy the food when I go and the menu changes with the season.
The bathrooms are awesome and you can spy on people in the dining room on the video screens in the mirrors. :D

Wow! What a surprise this was.  I came in for a quick glass of whatever and ended up staying for dinner. Our server was gracious and pointed how bottles were half priced on Wednesdays. How could I resist? Next thing I knew, a lovely and properly chilled Prosecco paired with Ahi Tuna and Vietnamese Carmel Beef swiftly hit the table.

We enjoyed the Ravioli without the sausage option, and Pepper Scallops.

Share the dessert, the selections are sizable. Next time we will try the creme brulee. This time, a banana split!

Issaquah Highlands is going to be the next Big Thing. It's plan for a downtown area has been approved. We should be seeing more of places like Sip in the future. In the meantime, this is a wonderful find.

I love Sip.  I loved it even more a few months ago before they started changing things on the menu.  The chips and dips was the best app on the menu next to the sliders- then it changed to the mezze plate (still like chips and dips but a little different)- and the last time I was in there, its completely gone from the menu!  There are other things left on that I have never seen people order and I'm one of those people that looks around at the food.

Possibly, even worse, every Wednesday is half price wine bottle night under $100.  Any bottle on the like 12 page menu.  Now, they have 1 sheet that they print off that is seperate from the wine menu that you can order half price bottles from.  12 pages to 1 page!  not cool..

That said, the food is good, the wine is good, the atmosphere is nice and the service has gotten better over the last year and 1/2 we have been going... just bring back the chips and dips!

When I think about going out for a nice dinner I no longer think about going into the city - sip has all the panache of a trendy bell town restaurant.  The food is amazing and it's located just a few miles from my house.  Two thumbs up!  Everything on the menu is delicious.

I gave this a 4 star rating because I'm not too thrilled with the new chef, he took the Beet Salad off of the menu and that is by far, next to the Sliders of course, the best app on the menu.  Great setting in the Highlands, plenty of locals giving it the nice neighborhood oasis feel to it.  Service is typically top notch.  Halibut is the best main course unless the chef has taken that off too? :(  A staple in my monthly diet.
