Update: We heard that we might have been the last customer to receive our windows. Scary!!!!
I guess this place is out of business now.
We had a great experience, that would have really sucked for our deposit to "disappear" and have the project fall apart.
Here is my original review:
We bought a fixer-upper house that needed all new windows. I was told that I could not afford replacing the original rotten wood windows with new double hung wood framed windows and that I would have to settle for those fake and ugly plastic framed windows.
I came to Sinan's thinking I had to go vinyl, but they said they could beat the price of Milgard with their own in-house made wood frames.
Huzzah!
The windows all look amazing in my 1912 Craftsman bungalow! I wanted to restore the home keeping it's original charm and not F it up.
I love using small, local businesses. Not to mention that they offer a great product at the lowest price I've ever seen. When does that happen?
A+ and a gold star! -

He takes 50% down and then does not perform the work according to 7 on your side. The title of the story is "shady bay area contractor" he has already gotten another license according to this article.

The seal on the patio door window on our house broke some time ago, distorting the beautiful view out along the canyon. I finally looked into replacing it and started with Sinan's given their stellar track record.
I sorted out that it was a Milgard window and thought it would be a slam dunk to get someone in and have it repaired under their lifetime warranty. I called in right afew New Years and left a message which was returned promptly the next day as they all returned to the office.
Setting up an appointment that worked for both our schedules was a snap. They used email and phone to get in touch as necessary when they couldn't connect with me and to confirm the appointment. They did ask the day before whether they could move the 1 hr window for a sales estimator to drop by and take measurements and so forth. It wasn't a big problem at the time, to move it from 1000-1100 to 1100-1200, though I ended up rushing back for 1100 and Mike arrived shortly before noon.
No matter, Mike arrived and though his visit wasn't really necessary afterall, he was extremely helpful. They knew when I made the appointment that I was dealing with Milgard windows under warranty. Mike tackled that right away: Milgard windows are only under lifetime warranty for the original owner and there are limitations for transfers of ownership of the house. He gave me their contact info and warned me that their customer service is notoriously bad (to be prepared). Also, Milgard would perform warranty work themselves, not Sinan's.
I asked whether he should take measurements anyways in case things went wonky with Milgard's warranty since it was his time on the clock. He took quick measurements, passed them along and I contacted Milgard (to no avail, the windows wouldn't be covered under warranty). I gave Mike a call after Milgard fell through and he called me back the next day and kept things to the point. Their labour prices wouldn't make sense for the job in question, a job that required simple glass replacement rather than replacing the entire unit. He instead suggested another firm for the work to get the best outcome for the most reasonable price.
Can't ask for much better service and follow-up, especially when the final outcome is that they likely don't get my business. Check with Sinan for your next job and they'll point you in the right direction, even if they aren't the one's spearheading the charge to repair or replace your windows! -

**Caveat: this review is not based on the quality of their actual work, but rather their poor level of customer service and lack of follow-up during the estimate process. **
Decided to call up Sinan's based on the good reviews here on Yelp, even though they are based in Oakland, and our home is in San Francisco.
I confirmed over the phone that they service SF. The sales person said that our 10+ window replacement job was a large enough job for them, even though the bulk of their customers are in the East Bay. Asked me to provide via email approx. dimensions of the windows, which I provided by the end of the day. Deep down I thought this was a bad sign, because they wouldn't even make the drive over to see/measure the windows themselves. He promised to respond back in a day or two.
One week goes by. I send a "just checking-in" email to inquire on the status, and the sales person writes back to apologize, and says he was waiting on some other person to get back to him. He would get back to me the next day with a quote.
Another week goes by, and I call twice and leave msgs both times on his voicemail. At this point, my other quotes are just beginning to come back. I never heard back again from Sinan's.
Really? Not even a courtesy call back? My job was worth between $15k to $20k, per my other estimates that I received. Maybe these guys have too much business and my job is small potatoes. Or perhaps the Bridge toll hikes had something to do with it. -

Sinan's was everything I wanted Pella to be, before Pella didn't stack up. First off, I like supporting local business when I can, so going to a dealer like Sinan's over Pella - a national chain with a local office - was good for me and the community. Secondly, unlike when I went to Pella I got quick and accurate help. They sales reps were knowledgeable, they presented me with all the options I could entertain, and I purchased what I expected to buy from Pella. Further, they are email and web friendly.
I went in, gave them all the specs for my job and talked out all the options I wanted (including custom grill patterns to match an odd window pattern at my house). They worked up an estimate and emailed it to me. I had numerous questions and revisions, which they happily worked out over email, and I was able to purchase the window over the phone and via email (PDF contracts, etc). It was perfect.
I would give Sinan's a 5 start rating if it wasn't for the fact that they are expensive and I have to wait a long time to get my window delivered. Then again, sometimes you have to pay more to get locally grown (ah window farms take me back to my youth) products and good service. So call this a 4.5 star review.

Sinan did an outstanding job replacing 3 double hung windows, 1 encasement window, and work on our front door. We are extremely satisfied with the work performed by Sinan. The window installation was quick and painless and the door outcome far exceeded our expectations.
Originally we were interested in replacing our front door. It would require a custom door to fit the existing frame at a cost of about $3500. When Paul, Sinan's VP, came out to do the final window and door measurements (as he personally does for all of Sinan's jobs), he said the door was fine and Sinan could install new hardware and reinforce the existing structure instead. The results were amazing. The adjustments accomplished exactly what we wanted while saving us a sizable amount of money, over $3000!
Mike Britto and his team were professional and did outstanding work. Mike was thorough in explaining the work being performed and he was extremely patient in answering all of our questions. At the end of the job we attempted to tip him and the crew to show our appreciation for such great work. Mike respectfully declined the tip stating that our satisfaction was good enough. Wow!
It's not everyday that you can still find a company that values customer satisfaction and quality work over making a quick buck. Many thanks go to the Sinan team (Paul, Ernie, Sossi, Mike & team) for all their quality work and patience with us. We look forward to working with Sinan again in the future when we have the remaining windows in our home replaced. -

I have nothing but praise for the installation folks. As with any large project there were some slipups and removing one window revealed that there was no existing framing for my marvin wood tilt-pac sash replacements...They did the extra work for just cost of materials. I had other minor issues which were rectified with no complaints by Sinian's.
Other people may quote slightly cheaper prices (not necessarily true in my case) but I'm sure the end result would be more expensive when change orders and natural-occurring errors with less conscientious businesses.
Highly recommend! -

When we decided to have our windows replaced I asked my neighbors if they knew a good window company. I found out that three different neighbors used Sinan's and were very satisfied with their results. So we went to their shop and had a very informative chat with Paul who answered all of our questions about privacy, security and styles.
Everyone we dealt with at Sinan's was remarkably pleasant and helpful. The only problem we experienced was a long delay in getting the doors we ordered. Since we were under a hard deadline to finish the work on our house (we had a baby on the way), Sosie and Ernie at Sinan's were really great to work us into the schedule to get as much of our project done while the rest of our stuff was on the way. And the crews that came to install all of our windows and doors were fantastic...quick, polite and skilled.
We're really happy with the work that they did and we're glad we used a
small, locally owned business for the job. -

We almost had a perfect experience with Sinan's. Everyone from the estimator to the sales people to the installer was knowledgeable and courteous and just a pleasure to work with.
I actually found their prices to be really competitive - at least for what we were looking for (Marvin wood frame double hung windows). We received quotes from three other companies, but the other places just sold the windows, so we would have had to hire a contractor separately to do the installation and the total price ended up being comparable. It just seemed safer and less of a hassle to go with a one-stop shop.
I also liked Sinan's because we decided to follow egress codes (requiring at least one casement window in a bedroom) and the other three companies did not have good options for the casement windows. One company didn't even make casement windows and the other two companies used an imitation wood for their casement windows.
However, this is where we ended up having a little trouble with Sinan's. We ordered Marvin double hung tilt-pacs for the entire house except for 2 casement windows in a bedroom. When we placed the order, we requested "satin taupe" hardware instead of the white that comes standard on the Marvin windows. We didn't think to ask what was standard for the casement windows. We just assumed they would make sure that everything matched. But when the windows were installed, the casement windows had bright brass hardware that clashed horribly with the hardware on the other windows. I was really upset that Sinan's hadn't thought to tell us that these windows wouldn't match and when I asked them to replace the brass hardware to match the other windows, I learned that matching hardware wasn't available for the casements! But after I expressed my displeasure, they immediately sent someone out to install white hardware on the casement windows, which looks much better. It's not perfect, but I'm sure we won't even notice the white soon. And luckily they really heard me and have actually changed their contract format so that the style of hardware is more clearly specified for each window.
So overall, I was really happy with Sinan's. The installers were incredibly conscientious and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. We covered our upholstered furniture before they arrived, but they ended up covering ALL of our furniture to protect it from dust. And they did a great job of vacuuming up after themselves when they were done. They even cleaned all of the windows - inside and out. I was impressed.
I would definitely buy windows from them again. Everything looks beautiful and as the other reviewer said, it's nice to support a local business. -

Hubby and I did quite a bit of research for our replacement Milgard windows before we decided to go with Sinan's. An added bonus was that a very good friend of ours is a building inspector in a neighboring city and he said that he had the best experiences with Sinan's. That was enough for us! The crew was efficient, fast, clean. It took 2 days to replace all of our windows. I recommend them to everyone, including my mom!

I am a fan and since I have only done business with one window company and can't tell if this should be a 4 or a 5. No complaints about the busines at all. Very help sales people and the installation was done so fast I couldn't believe they could replace 7 windows so quickly and with no mess left behind.
This is a company you can count on.
Next job will be to make all new screens since we could afford them with the windows but now we can! Sinan's we are calling you again! -

Who knew new windows could make me so happy!? Our windows were installed today and they did a great job. They were prompt and efficient. They said they'd be there between 8-9 am and arrived at 8:05am. We also ordered a door which we are waiting to arrive and be installed. We only got a quote from Sinan's, so I'm not sure how their prices compare to other places, but feel what we paid is fair.

While we didn't use Sinan's Windows for the job, they were very easy to work with, came when they said they would to give the quote, and followed up on the quote by email after one week. I got a very good impression of them, and would recommend them.

Sinan's did a fabulous job replacing most of the windows in our house last year. They're family owned, honest, and are priced very competitively (they came in with the best bid -- by far -- compared to the three other bids we got). We have recommended Sinan's ever since. Most of our friends who have used them have turned around and recommended them to their own friends and families. If you're looking for windows, Sinan's is the best in the business.

We had 14 windows replaced by Sinan's a few weeks ago. Not only did they do an excellent job installing the windows and cleaning up after themselves (in fact, I think they left my house cleaner than they found it!), everyone we worked with was really nice, and not in a phony way. They were friendly and helpful and personal, like a business in a small town where reputation truly matters.
Sinan's is a small family-owned business and they take pride in their work and care about their employees and customers. I felt like they took a personal interest in making sure we were happy.
Another thing I liked was that Ernie, who came out and gave us the initial bid, seemed more knowledgeable than some of the people sent out to offer bids by other companies.
I'm giving 4 instead of 5 simply because there were some mistakes initially on the bid and the contract with numbers not getting updated or translated from one document to another. Sherry and Sosi were very nice about fixing the errors and it was all fine in the end.
Overall, I definitely recommend Sinan's for a personal and professional window installation experience. I like to support local businesses whenever possible, and they are definitely worth supporting. -

I recently had all of my horrible 70's remodel gone bad windows removed and replaced with Marvin Double Hung Tilt windows by the folks at Sinan's Windows. They were awesome. Very friendly salespeople and office staff. The crew was great! Left my house cleaner than when they started. I love the fact that they are family-owned and have been in the business for quite a while. The price was fair, the work was top-notch. I would whole-heartedly recommend them.
