The pillows here are so amazing that I had to ask the front desk where I could get one for myself as I checked out!!

We were here for an intense two-day work meeting, so the stay was stressful overall, but the staff were friendly and accommodating and did their best to make sure we had everything we needed.

The four poster bed in my room was comfortable, the lobby was cozy with a fireplace and comfortable couches, and they had free wireless internet.  We had all our meals at the restaurant (Evergreens) which was so good I called home about it the first night.

All in all, it was a good stay and I would definitely recommend it for a relaxing weekend away.

As I mentioned in my review of Evergreens, we usually stay at Avon Old Farms, which as far as a hotel goes, is pretty much up to par with Simsbury Inn, as they're run by the same management. The rooms are pretty huge and mine was accomodated with two large canopy beds, full bath, fridge, featherbeds, etc. I actually slept in both beds just because I could and had the whole room to myself. Hello watching vh1 as loud as I can so I can listen during my overly long shower. Delightful!

The breakfast was fairly decent as far as the continental one went, but we chose to eat in the breakfast cafe "Nutmeg". Nutmeg was just....ok. They weren't equipped to handle our party of 8, so we had to wait a little while, and when they did seat us, we couldn't even sit at the same table nor would they push two together. The brunch buffet didn't start until 11, and we were hoping to have left by then, but by the looks of it being set up, it would've far exceeded our meal. I had typical french toast with REAL maple syrup and a grapefruit half. Staff was friendly, but yet, tried to seem like we were humorously inconvenient.
Ha. Ha. Ha. Like I said, we're not picky or difficult patrons. In comparison to the breakfast served at Avon Old Farms, this is pretty pathetic. Never again.

There is an indoor pool and hottub which we made use of, but it closes at 10pm, so do that first then hit the tavern. The tavern (Evergreens) isn't particularly suitable for watching "the game", it has one 24" tv located in the back corner. Not so hot.

Went up to Connecticut for a quiet fall weekend with the girlfriend.  The hotel is nice and in a convenient location to Hartford and the Litchfield Hills.  The room was nicely and modernly decorated with a comfortable bed and large flat screen TV.  The restaurants on site were fairly good and we enjoyed a dinner and breakfast in our room.  I would definitely stay here again.
