This is not a very impressive mall, in fact I always feel a little sad when I go there. It's the closest mall to me so I go if I have to get something specific, but it's not a mall I would browse at or go to just for something to do. I would rather drive half an hour more and go to Providence or Braintree. The Macy's is small and the sears is a mess aside from the appliance section. The Best Buy is decent. If you are a mom like I am, there is a Gymboree, Children's Place and Baby Gap, as well as Old Navy. This is not a place I go to for shopping for clothes for myself, although it does have a fine H&M.

The only real restaurant is a Bertucci's, which is very good. The food court is very small. It does have a little play place for kids, little rides and a ton of video games. It's very sunny and open and I imagine this was once a nice mall.

The thing that bothers me the most is the pet store, which is always full of puppies. Who buys puppies in pet stores these days? They are all from puppy mills and so over priced. So sad.

At some point after 1986 they took the entire population of Chernobyl and moved them all to Taunton . Either that or theres some serious inbreeding going on . Mutant city .

I used to work at 4 different stores at this mall back in it's hey day when me and my friends were all mall rats. It's still beautiful but every other store is closed down and moved out.
Turns out they had a rule where you couldn't mallrat anymore and it killed business. Even though they overturned it it never recovered, which is crazy because the 3 malls near it (harbour, Swansea, and Dartmouth) are nowhere near as nice inside. I hope someone out there is happy.

The only reason I go to this sad excuse of a mall is because I work here. Yes, believe it or not, there's still some stores open in this oversized storage unit called a mall. Come by and spend some money so I can continue to be employed.

Early last Friday afternoon I was bored.  A rainy, dull June lunch hour,  I was lucky enough to score a half day of work thus I was itching for some yummy MAC product to spend some cash on.  I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to pick up some leftover items from the various blow outs many stores have at this time of the year and what better method to kill time than to make a quickie drive outside of the norm.

About six or seven years ago I was a frequent flier of Silver City.  I remembered it being busy, packed with interesting store fronts and I vaguely remember a sort of a Ferris Wheel from many, many years even before that.  This time, I was to do my mall trekking with mother and brother in tow.

And how unfortunate that was!  Sadly the pitiful state of our economy has really taken its toll on Silver City- it was absolutely, 100% empty save for a small hand full of employees eating in the food court and a few groups of gabby tweens.  Many of the store fronts were deserted and closed off while surprisingly a couple of the eateries didn't even accept debit or credit.  This wouldn't have been so annoying if not for the fact that they had no signs indicating such until after I had placed my order.

On the upside, the handful of stores I stopped into were fully stocked for my picking.  The GAP was empty but their shelves were filled with everything from brand new items on clearance to clothing I had trouble finding locally.  (Does -anyone- shop here???)  The biggest shocker of all?  The Victoria's Secret still had an abundance of make-up left from its blow out clearance.  Everywhere from Providence Place, to Swansea, Emerald, etc was 100%, utterly picked clean by the evening of the first day the sale was announced.  My jaw hit the floor.  The MACY's was a little sad.  No MAC.  And a relatively poor selection of bags.  Many of their Dooney and COACH brands were 50% off.  Unfortunately to add, their layout is old-skool, complete with its perfume area slammed into the front.  Double ugh.  I'm an avid fan of scents but not when it  forces you to walk through a misty cloud of whamness with a raging headache.

There's also a Torrid, Old Navy, Claire's, American Eagle, etc.  Overall it sadly wasn't as epic as I last remember it being.  If the MACY's was a little better I may have actually considered stopping by again as it was so dead, my shopping experience was so much more pleasant than having to cram myself through huge crowds.  But, nope, it doesn't.  I suppose if you live in the general area I could see how it could be convenient but otherwise, it's not worth going out of your way for.
