I'm always a little weary when I don't see anything adverse in reviews about a place...which is kind of weird because it's also the reason that I chose to go somewhere. Yes, I know, strange and contradictory. But if you haven't ever looked at a review and thought "hmn...I wonder if these are all people that work there..." then I suppose you're just not like me!
Anyway, I was trying to find a good vet since I moved and I wasn't really in the mood to 'try out a new place' at the risk of getting a super high bill and recommendations for unnecessary procedures. What I found at Silver Bluff was exactly the opposite.
Silver Bluff is a different type of vet - it's all open so you can see everything that's going on. It has a very casual and relaxed atmosphere, and they're open on Saturdays (yay!). We filled out our paperwork while waiting and took advantage of the free chocolates and doggie bones. When we were called in the techs gave my Mini dachs a thorough once over and even lightly cleaned her teeth. They were very educated on what shots were necessary and what we should be doing, and I started worrying that this was a tech-centric clinic where the Doc. just kind of floats by and gives a nod of approval. However then Dr. Sanchez came in and spent a lot of time looking her over and actually talked me out of one of the shots that my other vet had told me was absolutely necessary.
I like this place because Dr. Sanchez is all about getting back to the truly healthy pet - not giving shots just because he wants to charge extra. He even recommended a 3-year shot since I wouldn't have to get it done every year.
I'll definitely be going back here and am so happy I found a great vet that's not in North county and outrageously expensive.

Also: They have a dental hygienist come in once a month to do anesthesia free teeth cleaning for animals that qualify (non-aggressive and relatively calm). This is a great service, they said it runs around $200.
One of the best vets I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Dr. Sanchez and his staff are extremely kind and very knowledgeable. I especially like that Dr. Sanchez has never once performed any type of unnecessary procedure, test, or prescribed medication that wasn't necessary or that we were fully informed about. His solutions to a problem are more focused and less of the "Let's test for everything and charge you for everything" approach. I guess he can do that since he really knows his stuff.
Also, we had a slight emergency over a holiday weekend. Dr. Sanchez could not have been kinder or more attentive.
The attention and care are the best. And at the end of it all, the bill is very very reasonable. What more can you ask for??
Dr. Sanchez and his staff are very knowledgable and kind. I have been going to his office since I got my pug. I have trusted them with all her medical needs including when she was spayed. I am always amazed at their excellent customer service. They always reply to messages quickly and efficiently. After my pug's operation they even called the next day to make sure she was ok.
The clinic is nice and open. It is warm and inviting. Most importantly my dog loves it there.
We recently switched vets because we were not too happy with the less than cordial demeanor of the staff at our last vet (who shall remain nameless). At bigger animal clinics, you usually see whichever vet is available that day and we got tired of getting berated by different vets about the plumpness of our dog. With Dr. Sanchez, we only get scolded once since he is the only vet on site :) Even though he is the only vet, his office is well-staffed with wonderful and friendly people.
We were taken aback at first by the open floor plan of the office, but it was cool to have that kind of transparency from a vet. We could see how he and the staff treated the other animals and they always did so with great care. We look forward to a long-lasting relationship with Dr. Sanchez and his staff.
I love this place.. although getting the bill at the end is the worst part we can't complain. Our latest trip to Silver Bluff was recently when we took our 2 yr old yorkie who decided to swallow a whole tree seed that got stuck in her smal intestine requiring surgery. Needless to say we were nervous for our little girl, going under for surgery is not something we wanted, but we had no choice. She required emergency surgery. The vet was great explaining everything that would take place, the post opt was awesome. We would drop off our girl for them to keep an eye on her and make sure she was eating well and had no issues. They were realy great. My hubby would leave messages for the doctor and he would call back right-a-way. I give them 5 stars! Of course we were broke for a while, but would do it again in a heart beat because it saved our little girl. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
i completely heart ted sanchez and the silver bluff animal clinic staff. our "babies" come here and it's like no other vets office i've seen. the building is this adorable little converted house with greenery outside and tons of exposed wood inside and good herbal smells. i always fell like i'm entering a spa cause of all the great smells. my dogs even like going.
but the biggest reason we take our puppies to ted is because of his approach to veterinary care. he takes a holistic approach, which i think i so important in maintaining our pets' healths. he is also an staunch advocate of a healthy "raw/organic" diet. we've been going here for over a year, and honestly, i can only rave about our experiences.
I have finally found a vet that I am completely happy with!!! Dr. Sanchez and the staff at Silver Bluff were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Everyone took their time when answering questions and concerns. To top it off, the quaint little clinic is just absolutely adorable. I am super happy with the attention and care my babies received! Would definitely recommend this wonderful clinic!
