Came here for a birthday party for a friend's son on a Saturday. They have party packages where they let you rent a room for 2 hours for your party, they you have unlimited usage of the pool area. The room had 2 foosball tables, 1 ping pong table, air hockey game, and a TV with a Game Cube. This worked out pretty well. At 1PM, they let us into the pool area, which was a good thing a designated time was set up for us because I saw a lot of families waiting outside the lobby for their names to be called.
There's three pool areas and a large hot tub/jacuzzi area. One area is a shallow pool with slides, and a structure for toddlers to climb. The second area is a deeper pool for older kids to play water polo and basketball. The third area has 2 large water slides and a lazy river. Very large and crowded, but lots of fun for the kids.
After a couple of hours in the pool area, the kids were exhausted. If you do go there for the first time, just be aware that you may sense a high level of chlorine in the air and water. Understandable, for the number of kids and adults who visit this place on a daily basis.

This is a two part review. This is one of two:
We brought our daughter here for her second year of swim school (her first year was at Happy Fish Swim School). The instructors were waaaay better than the ones at Happy Fish. 100% better! Angelique and Maurice were super! Very encouraging, friendly, and helpful. I really liked Maurice. He was good with the kids and provided wonderful support to the parents. Angelique remembered all the kids names which was nice. They were both easy to approach and my daughter was not afraid of them. The swimming curriculum is similar to Happy Fish, but learning here is more fun because the instructors were very involved. Way to go A and M!
They have clean family rooms and locker rooms; definitely bigger than Happy Fish. The entire facility is clean and well-kept. The staff is professional (not necessarily friendlier), but definitely more mature.
I want to enroll my daughter again and my son, too. The only negative is that their pool is brrrr!!!!! Sooo cold, even at 86 degrees! At Happy Fish the pool is a comfy 92 (or is it 96?) degrees. It feels like you're taking a nice, warm bath. If Silliman warmed up their pool just a few degrees more, I would definitely give them five stars!
* Part two of two * My daughter's Birthday Splash!
** (two stars = Meh!)
We had my daughter's second birthday party here yesterday. I really wanted it to be small and quick. I think I was traumatized from her first bday which was such a big production. This time around, I decided to have a small get-together with friends/family with kids only. Hey, sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. I ordered pizza, spaghetti, chicken, and cupcakes. I made cheese and nutella sandwiches shaped into flowers and hearts and placed them in brown lunch bags with goldfish snacks and grapes. I had chocolate covered strawberries. My stepson and I baked cookies and brownies the night before and packaged them neatly.
The little kids played in the pool and then ate afterwards. We sang Happy Birthday, had cupcakes, and left. Clean-up was a cinch- we just rolled up the table clothes and into the trash they went. Done!
The only irritant that nagged at me was the constant announcement over the loud speaker of how much time we had left before the center closed. I was on guard to do the Heimlich just in case any of my guests choked on their food as they were being rushed to pack it up. Daaang, give the peeps some time to chew and swallow, at least savor the flavor of the food. The hostess kept telling me how much time was left and I told her not to worry, we would be out on time. And we were.
Though the kids enjoyed themselves and I got what I wanted out of it (small and easy), it felt like a quickie.
As far as coming back here for swimming lessons, I am definitely signing up again. As far as throwing another party, NO!

WOW! This place definitely gets my Mommy Stamp of Approval!
The facilities are big but not overwhelming. It was still fairly easy for me to keep an eye on my 3 boys, while still giving the older ones a little bit of independence. The boys love the 2 water slides- and Mom breathes a little easier on these, compared to those at Waterworld! They also have a whole other area for those little ones under 5!
We've only been here once, but already know that this is bound to be a favorite family destination come Fall/ Winter time! The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for the kids- well worth it!

Huge facility, nice amenities. Good for lap swimming (25 yd pool with four lanes, outer two are slow lanes, faster and medium lanes in the middle) in the Fremont/Newark area. Lap swim is avail most days early in the morning and 5-9 pm for adults only M-Th. $7 bucks per visit, but they sell various passes if you want to go more often. They also have a children's activity pool, water slides (can adults ride these?), lazy river? and spa. They've got locker rooms with showers, restrooms, baby changing rooms, and family changing rooms (do whole families change in there together?). It's pricey and a bit far from where I live, but if I want a change from the Chernobyl-like pool at 24 hour fitness (I must have a death wish cuz I've accidentally swallowed their lovely pool water before) and smelling like chlorine for days, I'll go here.

Best thing for the kiddies!! I love this place. The price is very affordable. Only 4 bucks for kids; 7 bucks for the big ones and there is no time limit...Only thing is, you better get there early. So many people know about it, that I went one time and i had to wait for 90 minutes with three kids. Other than that, great. There are two party areas and even a snack bar to spend up more of your money..

This is a mighty impressive facility for a community pool! We never had extravagant public pools like this in my childhood. Talk about an "activity center" there is something for the whole family here.
We came for a birthday party. They have rooms you can rent and host parties at while the kids and bigger kids play in the pools. Yes there is more than one! It's more than a pool it's a mini amusement park. We definitely had a fabulous time!
Here are some of the amenities:
1. Kiddie pool, complete with play area and fountains.
2. Dual waterslides for you adventurers.
3. Lazy river with inner tubes (its hard to find one available, unless you trick a kid into giving up theirs!)
4. Big pool with volleyball and basket ball areas.
5. For those who want to just relax there's a hot tub.
It's well kept and you feel safe with all the lifeguards and jr lifeguards on duty.

Here I am writing about the gym when I should probably get up and away from my computer and actually GO to the gym. Maybe after this review...
This is a great little gem in my neighborhood and I should go there more often than I actually do.
The swimming pools are quite impressive. I go for the lap swims and when it's not crowded, it is great. When it gets too busy though, I usually quit and get out and find something less crowded like the Lazy River. Walking the opposite way down their Lazy River gives you a nice workout.
The fitness center is where I can be found the most. It is not the most spacious workout room but it has a nice variety of equipment. Plus, everyone who is there is normal. There are no crazy skinny girls trying to snag a date. There are no sleazy guys looking to humor them. It is just real people working out.
The locker rooms and bathrooms are decent. Nothing to complain about. Bring your own combo lock if you plan on storing anything in the lockers.

We tried to escape the heat yesterday, so we headed over to the Aquatic center.
Holy smokes! It's like I was in a time warp and got warped back to the refugee camp in Guam! It was crowded, it was hot, everyone looked like they were dying...there was a freakin' 90 minute wait! Can you imagine waiting in this heat with 2 little kids screaming that they want to go swimming? Now multiply this times 100's because that's how many screaming kids there were.
So maybe it's my fault for not anticipating the big crowd. But, wow, I don't think I could wait that long for anything!
So, I haven't actually been inside, but I hear it's wonderful once you get in. I'll have to try again on a weekday.
So we nixed that idea, bought some ice cream, and headed over to my kid's swim school:

Thank God they had an open practice time. And Thank God that my kid's didn't know the difference.

The chlorine is kinna strong though... made our eyes turned red. considering it was around 60 degrees outside and gloomy... plus a happy baby & playful daddy... i cant complain.

Someone pee in the Lazy River without refund. It was gross and Rude. They gave us stamps. They won't check the stamps. Easy to sneak in and
why we have to pay. This is the worst Facilities. Hope Fremont Water Park is way better. They won't gave us stamps, they gave you wristband. I can't wait they open May 2009.

I went to this indoor pool-playground a couple of months ago when the weather was sucky and my son had a terrible case of stir-crazy fever. They have "tot time" where, for a couple of hours on select days, they designate the smaller, more tot-friendly part of the pool to tots and their parent(s). It's a really cool plastic playground with a couple of slides, a jungle gym made out of soft rope, and several Nickelodeon-esque water guns, all set in about a foot of water that gradually goes to about 3-feet deep. It is well-guarded and a great place to meet other parents. $3 for adults and free for kids 3 years old and under. I definitely recommend this indoor wet fun-ground for those long rainy days.
TOT TIMES are every Tuesday and Thursday from 11am to 1pm.
