Several weeks ago I started looking for a Pet Sitter to look after my cat while I was going to be away on vacation. At that time I contacted Silicon Valley Pet Nanny several times and didn't get a response. I was confused as the ratings were so high on here.
When things go wrong you understand the value of a good company.
When I finally reached Carolyn live she explained that she had switched ISPs, and in the process some emails had gone awry. She immediately took steps to understand what I needed, and deliver services even though I was only a couple of days prior to departure.
I've since returned home from my trip. I received a couple of nice notes while I was away from Carolyn telling me how my cat was doing. She also left a full report on the dining room table when I came home last night. The cat was clean, fed, and well cared for. She seemed quite happy--which isn't always the case if I even leave her for weekend.
I'm happy to recommend Silicon Valley Pet Nanny. They did a fantastic job for me, and I will use their services again. What's most important for me is that when we did have an issue early on, Carolyn took immediate responsibility for the problem, and fixed it. Stuff happens, but it is how Silicon Valley Pet Nanny responds that sets them far apart from other services out there.

I've been using SV Pet Nanny a few times this year and have to say I am MORE than pleased with the way they watched my senior cat, Muncie. Carolyn, the owner, had a couple of challenges this last time (ant swarm attack of the food, a broken feeder and friend of mine that crashed the house without asking me first) and she handled it all with aplomb. I thought she improvised well, and kitty was very happy to see her. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone needing to have a pet sat for a few days.

SV Pet Nanny is simply the best! We have two special needs kids. The female is very much a type A diva and the male is blind. Carolyn's group has had no issues or problems giving these two dogs the care and compassion that all of SV Pet Nanny's other clients receive. When we have used them for overnight stays, the dogs are thrilled to be able to spend time with Katy. I love the fact that the dogs don't cower or hide when they show up. In fact, both dogs can't wait to spend time with Carolyn or Katy. It's quite amazing. I'm so at ease with leaving my kids in their care. I couldn't be happier.
I love this company. The pet Nanny's are always reliable, safe and affordable. I know my pets always look forward to having their sitter come take care of them. I know my pets are in great company when I leave on a business trip.

Established in 2005
After working for YEARS in the corporate world I decided that I wanted to follow my dream and work with animals. I hung up my corporate shoes, bought a pair of walking shoes, and have never been happier. This business has allowed me to not only meet some of the most wonderful caring people out there, but also to learn first hand that us humans can learn a thing or two from our animal friends. The pets that we care for become family to us, and even if we're having a horrible day as soon as we open the door and see those "smiling" faces everything turns around to happiness. I guess I feel that life is very short and you should do what you have passion for...I'm lucky I was able to do this, and thank my furr guardians for allowing me to care for their kids.
Meet the Business Owner: Carolyn N.
I am convinced that I was born to be an animal lover and caretaker. Although I took a very round about way to get here, but I'M HERE, and loving every minute of it. I started my working career like most other people, at a desk, and realized it wasn't for me. I began a career in the music industry and actually took a different leap of faith and relocated to S.Cal. A friend of mine ran a pet sitting business down there, and she was always so happy, and basically planted the seed in my mind. After realizing that the music industry wasn't for me, I moved back to N. Cal and began trade show managing and corporate event planning, still with the pet business in my mind. One day I woke up and realized that the one thing that makes me the happiest is being around animals. It was very scary making the move to being a small business owner, and it was A LOT of work, but I have never been happier or more fulfilled. Sometimes you jump...and it works.
