After waffling a bit, I decided to give Sila Thai a solid 3 star, borderline 4 review. Maybe i will return and revise it to a 4.

I've eaten here twice for a late lunch (around 2pm).  They weren't crowded either time, and service was good.  I do like the decor, and the restaurant was spotless.

Both times, I ordered the chicken kaprow lunch specials, which are served with chicken lemongrass soup, house salad with peanut dressing, or a spring roll. My husband ordered the chicken panang curry.

The first time, I got the salad, which had, imo, way too much dressing. And the dressing tasted just like the sauce on the Chicken Panang Curry dish. The second time, I ordered the lemongrass soup, which was much better.  My husband ordered the spring roll each time; he says it tasted fine.

The chicken kapow tasted good, but it wasn't great.  I had fantastic chicken kapow at a thai restaurant in another city, and have yet to find a similar dish here in NoVA.  The chicken panang curry also tasted fine.

If we're in the area and craving thai, we will return.  But we won't go out of our way to eat here.

I've eaten here a few times and usually order in from here as well. Usually the food is amazing and the service is top notch.

The last few times we have ordered they seem to have dropped the ball. I've seen this happen to restaurants which have a false sense of arrogance and then begin to think they're god-like and flawless.

Let's face it, no one is perfect and restaurants make mistakes from time to time, but that's where their true character shines.

So I ordered one time and they sent the wrong lemongrass soups along with the fact that they were cold and disgusting. Then, to add insult to injury, they insisted that they sent the correct soup and I was wrong (even though I was looking at the soup directly and I told them I wanted the Tom Yum soup, specifically the soup without coconut milk) so after them being angry that I had even called, albeit after I left the driver a 25% tip, the "manager" finally agrees to send the soup. After 1 hour the driver finally shows up. He looks at the soups he had originally brought and apologized because even he could see that they were wrong. So I thank him and take my new soups.

Now to my surprise yet again this soup is full of a rediculous amount of inedible lemon grass. Like half of each soup. Needless to say I didn't eat it and called them back and they said they were deeply sorry for the soup and also for being argumentative earlier. All though the "manager" wasn't the one that apologized.
So they credited my account and that was that.

So the following week I had ordered from them again, and this time they forgot completely about one item. Called and spoke with the lady who took my order and she put me on hold for 10 minutes and then the same "manager" from last week answered and instantly began talking to me like I was stupid. Then after 10 more minutes of him bickering at me he finally agreed to send the order.

At the same time a friend of mine showed up and they ordered more food from them. They delivered and it was alright. Yet again it took forever for them to get it right and they made it seem like it was my fault.

    Here's where it gets crazy.

Called a couple weeks later and then attempted to make an order. They first said that we are out of their delivery range. Then after another 5 min of holding she said that we don't want to deliver to you and would you really want a restaurant that didn't want to deliver to you to deliver??

I hung up the phone immediately. How can a place in customer service survive with this arrogance. When a restaurant begins to develop this sense of attitude, it's the signs of a sinking ship.

    So long Sila Thai...

    Response from the owner:

Hello, Atif A., and Jennifer A.
My name is Ukrit.  I am the manager at Sila Thai Cuisine.
I am truly sorry about the bad incident.
You are right that we make mistakes but we always try to find out what append and fix it ASAP.
I did not know about the last incident (I went to a supermarket) that a server told you that we will not deliver to your house impolitely.
That's not true.  We will always want you as a customer.
I have no idea what happen with her.  Why would she said that?
    It's not acceptable.
I will make sure that the person who did that to my customer will no longer working here.
I hope you will forgive us someday.
    Sincerely,
    Ukrit
    Manager
    Sila Thai Cuisine

    My Response to that:

It's funny, ironically theres no where that I wrote anything about my Fiance, Jennifer and that they knew exactly who this was.

What makes this sound even more shady is the fact that I specifically told the lady on the phone that I would be leaving a review on Yelp, and she then informed me that she did not care. That site is irrelevant to us, is what she said.

Ukrit, see I would be more obliged to believe you, but I have had an annoying experience with you as well. You're the one who practically screamed at me on the phone and told me that I was wrong. Also, since you knew specifically about this issue, maybe you should have called and gave us your apologies then. It's a little too late once the review gets posted onto Yelp!

To add insult to injury, her and I were both very sick that day and were actually looking forward to your Tom Yum soup. Clearly with the attitude that was given to us, we didn't receive our soup, nor did your business want our money.

The lady that was on the phone that day, specifically told us that she spoke with you, and said that you had told her that we give too much trouble and didn't want to deliver.

Like I said before, I've enjoyed your food, and I understand that people make mistakes, but it's exactly this attitude that your restaurant is developing that causes business to tank.

    Good luck.

Delicious!  Love Sila Thai.  I always order from here while I'm at work, but I know they have a minimum $ amount for delivering, but I never worry because everyone wants to order from Sila all the time.  Pad Thai is good, HOWEVER the green curry (veggie or chicken, etc) is to die for.  I love spicy items, and I do want to try the red curry at some point, but for now, green curry is where it's at.
Definitely try Sila Thai out - you won't regret it!  Mmmm.

I have been to this place many times over the last few years. For awhile there we were pretty regular. I've ate in the restaurant and ordered delivery from them, both of which were good but I prefer to eat in the restaurant.

My boyfriend alternates between the Sweet Basil Kapow thai spicy and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Both of which I have sampled and are very good, we both are big fans of basil. I usually order the Thai Style Noodle soup with chicken which I really love. The broth, all with exception of once where it tasted a little off, is always good. The perfect amount of noodles, lettuce, broth, bean sprouts, and sometimes they do skimp on the chicken but its so good I barely notice. It has good, healthy flavor and the chicken is cooked well. This soup is also a reasonable price at $7.95, although I don't really recommend it for delivery, it is much better in house because the noodles taste so much better when they've seeped in the broth. I've also ordered this with beef which is also good.

I've also had the Miso Noodle Soup, the Meat Balls noodle soup, the Sweet Basil Kapow mild, thai dumplings, the jumbo triangle tofu, the Sizzling Beef, and the crispy beef with basil. I did not enjoy the meat balls noodle soup, but I'm really iffy with seafood, I like it but it depends. Both sizzling beef dishes are out of this world good and come highly recommended.

I also love the amount they give you, taste, and price of their thai iced tea. I absolutely love thai iced tea and they are $1 for refills which is good because thai iced tea is usually a bit expensive.

My boyfriend and I haven't been in awhile and definitely need to return. The service is always friendly and attentive. I'm opening up more and more to spice after being a wuss for so long. This is an afforable place in a comfortable setting and the place is really cute inside. The online delivery is really easy to use and the food arrives very quickly. Can't go wrong with reliable service. The only thing I could do without are the mirrors, they make me feel self conscious.

I've gone here a few times with my in laws, and also with my hubby separately.  Pretty decent thai food for being close to the in laws house.

Crispy Beef w/ Crispy Basil is AMAZING.

Their Pad Thais are very good - better than the norm

Pad Se Ew - this is NOT good here.  Too goopy and the noodles are too doughy.  I've had better at Tara Thai and other thai restaurants.

This place seems to be our "go-to" while at work. I always order two of the Thai Ice Teas and a Panang Curry Chicken. The food is pretty delicious and I've never had a bad meal from there. Things are made fresh and taste great.

The only reason I knocked some stars is the delivery time. The amount of time it takes to get something delivered is atrocious. For instance, we ordered this afternoon, after 1PM (well beyond the normal "lunch hour") and it took over 45 minutes for them to deliver. I could almost drive there and sit down and eat in 45 minutes. The service in the restaurant is very fast, not so much for delivery.

I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but this is our go-to Thai place for delivery.

    Pros
    Order delivery online
    Fast, reliable delivery
Good Pad Thai (Fried Tofu, Beef, Chicken and Crab meat)
    Tasty green curry

    Cons
    So-so Drunken Noodles
Everything is good, but I'm still waiting to try something from Sila Thai that is above average.

Try out this place again with my friend for lunch, just simple drunken noodle, ( no more coconut milk curry for my tommy ).
Service was friendly and fast, food came out less than 10 mins ( really really fast )
My food was hot, smell a bit char from heat of the wok, less oily, portion of the meat was generous @ lunch.
Definitely a good for fast simple lunch.

Average Thai food. Still, they have easy parking, good service, and a wicked fast kitchen.

Their red curry with duck was a tad sweet for my liking, but the Wild-Dish (#24 on the menu) had the right amount of spice. Sliced pork is sauteed with chili paste and bamboo shoots, with Thai eggplant thrown in. Lemongrass, lime leaves, ginger, and basil leaves give it a pungent flavor. Pork was too dry, but Sila Thai gets credit for using Thai chiles hot enough to make me sweat.

Came here for lunch.  The decor was very nice, and the sinks in the bathroom were cool, if you're into that sort of thing.  I had the drunken noodles lunch special with the included lemon grass soup.  The soup was very lemony and not as balanced as i would normally prefer.  The drunken noodles were presented well, but lacked a depth of flavor.  They also were not particularly spicy, but that might have been my fault for not being clear that i can take the heat.

Definitely a good, solid lunch option.

We were looking for an excuse to get some custard at Milwaukee Frozen Custard, and lunch nearby seemed like a good enough reason, so we headed off to try Sila Thai.  The place wasn't too busy, but it wasn't empty either.  The service was good and the food came out quickly.

The Chicken Curry Puffs were a nice starter, they were similar to a samosa, but with chicken as well as potatoes.  We all got the lunch specials, and either the soup or the salad would be a good choice.  I especially liked that the salad dressing had a little bit of heat to it, not a lot, but just enough to make it more interesting than your usual peanut dressing.

The pad thai and drunken noodles were both pretty typical, and the panang chicken was a bit above average.  Overall a good bet for thai food, but not enough for us to make the trip from Vienna on a regular basis.

We had lunch at Sila Thai and wanted to like it, but there were just too many things that weren't right.
Our beef curry's potatoes were nearly raw, not good at all.  It would have been a decent dish, but raw potatoes?  Even I can properly cook potatoes at home.
The duck soup was just not good; just duck with instant duck paste in the soup for flavor.  The duck was tasteless and there weren't many vegetables.

The salmon grilled in banana leaves is absolutely the most delicious thing ever -- juicy, tender, what have you. Drunken noodle ain't too shabby either. Pad thai, however, is pedestrian.

Fortunately, Thai coffee was ... scrumptious.

Got a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint.
I tried their Ginger iced tea and it was potent with a hint of lemon, ginger and honey. full burst of flavor, pow!

my friend had the Kapow! chicken and it was spicy,I had a nibble....and though I liked my dish, this would have been more satisfying

I decided to be adventurous and not just order my Thai staple, Panang curry.

I ordered the Sizzling beef ( chef's special).  it was good, slightl
sweet and served on a hot platter.  the beef was ample and fresh...

the service was good and fast and the decor fairly sumptuously orange....

overall it did not disappoint and I would like to try some more dishes I am not familiar with...

Had dinner at Sila Thai last night on the way home from work. I've been meaning to come here any number of times - truth be known - there have been several times I was planning to try the place - and then at the last minute I diverted to Viet Crystal - which is next door - due to my ongoing and insatiable lust for Pho Ga!

It was just after 5:00 pm when I arrived and the place was empty - the servers sprung into action, seated me and presented me with a menu.

As is usual with me - when trying a new Thai restaurant, I'll revert to my faves:  Tom Yum, Som Tom, and Kee Mao Gai.  I ordered the Tom Yum with Shrimp - and the Som Tom (Papaya salad) and the Kee Mao Gai (Drunken noodles with chicken) - at a 4 spice level (1 being little spice - 5 being Thai spicy - the hottest spice level available), and a glass of water.

The soup came out first - it was a solid soup - tasty - yet not as spicy as I like. I should have requested that they kick up the spice level on the soup as well.

The Papaya salad came out next - very nice mixture of spiciness and sweetness with the dressing - yet it seemed to be missing just a bit of the lime tartness I've come to expect from good Papaya salads. Again - I would have expected the heat level to have been more pronounced with a request for a 4 heat level. Their Som Tom includes one grilled shrimp on top on a skewer (I'm more of a fan of the Som Tom style where the tiny dried, brined shrimp are sprinkled throughout the dish - which this version lacked).

Finally the Kee Mao Gai came out. I visually scanned the dish looking to see what they spiced it up with - again  - I prefer it when Thai restaurants put the sliced Serrano Chiles right into the dish - it makes it really hot when that approach is taken. I could see no Chiles at all in the dish. So they used some sort of spices. The flavor was excellent - the noodles had that savory, richness imbued into them from all the flavors of the dish, the onions were nicely caramelized, the bits of spinach, tomatoes, and red and green bell pepper were all cooked just right - I would have liked a little bit more chicken. Again - the dish was not spicy hot by my standards.

The service was prompt and attentive. The decor of the place is warm and inviting - nice ambiance. Would be a good place for a dinner date assuming you both like Thai! The Men's Restroom is clean and modern looking - very interesting sink and a nice tile border trim color combination adorns the wall.

I will definitely visit Sila Thai again - next time I will ask for a "5" spice level and make sure they know I want it hot baby! Damn hot! Sidewalk hot! Crotchpot cooking baby! (How many of you know what that is a reference to?) :-)

Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday with a group of 8, which usually is a lot, but the restaurant accommodated for us easily.

The pad thai was pretty good and the house salad dressing was interesting.  Still deciding if it was in a good way or bad way, either way I ate all of it so couldn't have been that horrible. I took a bite of the fried rice, which was also good. They have a lunch menu (even on Sunday!), which brought the price down to about $9, but there were enough leftovers.

Will definitely come again for another try.

Its really hard to be objective when reviewing Sila Thai, since Courtside Thai is pretty much the same distance from my house and far outshines Sila.  Then again, there are very few restaurants that can compare to courtside.  But if i ever need a change of pace, Sila is a good option

Located deep in the Metrotech shopping center, the parking lot is typically packed, especially when I've been there on a Thursday and the backyard grill is loud and bumping.  Park around front and walk.  The walk will be good for after when you're full.

My typical Thai dish is Pad See Ew, which I've had here and was very good.  Not too oily and a nearly perfect sauce to noodle ratio, only slightly heavy on the noodles.  On my most recent visit i expanded my horizons and tried the garlic beef.   It was very good, with nearly perfectly cooked vegetables and a great garlic flavoring.

And the best part is that there are multiple ice cream offerings in the same complex.  There's a dairy queen and a Milwaukee frozen custard.  There's nothing better with Thai food than ice cream :) So any place within walking distance of it gets an extra vote from me!

Having a spouse with a severe peanut allergy is a great way to stymie your Thai consumption. (Not your consumption of Thai people; as far as I know, no-one's ever gone into anaphylactic shock by eating an Asian human.) So when the opportunity came up to introduce three of my ankle-biters to the joys of Thai food, I bundled them all into the Caravan of Odyssey and trucked to Sila Thai.

Good choice for their first Thai experience, as it turns out! We ordered the vegetable Pad Thai, veg green curry, panang salmon, and veg spring rolls for tasty mains, and mango with sticky rice and fried banana with coconut ice cream to prove that there's life after chili peppers.

Although I heard a few complaints about things being "too spicy, Daddy" the food was all-around excellent. The Pad Thai was a firm favorite among the elementary school set, while I thoroughly enjoyed the panang and green curry. The desserts were equally good; I hadn't had the fried banana before...but will again!

I can't really fault Sila Thai at all. Service was swift, friendly, and accommodating, and the whole place was clearly well tended to.

So we'll be going back. Maybe this time I'll take some glasses of milk along for the kids...

We happened to be in the neighborhood and stumbled into Sila Thai. Always up for a new Thai place! The interior is really nice and we were impressed with some not-as-common items on the menu (sundried beef, pandan wrapped chicken).

Given the other reviews here, we might have just been here on an off night. My husband ordered chicken krapow and I had "Country" fried rice with seafood (something they claimed was a chef specialty). Krapow (basil chicken) was okay, the heat didn't have any flavor to it - it was just hot and seemed well out of proportion to the amount of pepper actually in the dish. We're both fans of spicy thai food, especially the flavor of bird chilis. It wasn't too hot - it was just "wrong" hot. If that makes any sense.

The actual rice in my fried rice was good and smokey. The Seafood (especially the squid) was flavorless and chewy. It was like it had just been sprinkled over the top of the dish and not actually cooked with the rest of the rice. Both the grilled chicken rice paper wraps and the shrimp cakes were really good. But nothing we had really stood out enough to make us want to come back and check out more of the menu.

It wasn't that the service was "bad", it was just oddly inconsistent, especially as soon as they got a little busier. I had a ginger iced tea (which was great) and never got asked if I wanted a refill, my husband on the other hand had his coke taken off the table and refilled at the bar every time it dropped an inch.

When we're in the neighborhood again I don't know if we'd give it another shot or not. I'm definitely intrigued by the less common dishes they offer and hope it was just an off night. They also advertise a "happy hour" special where Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 pm you get 20% off your whole tab.

    This place is a Gem!

One of the nice things about the DC area is the variety of asian restaurants. Yes, this is Franchise city because most independent owner operators can't afford the taxes. That's why there's an Appleby's and Ruby Tuesday's at every corner.

Sila Thai will not disappoint. They have an extensive menu of Thai favorites and they switch it up with daily lunch and dinner specials.
You can also order on-line and they deliver!

Try the Sizzling Beef; they have a great selection of fresh  seafood entrees as well.

You can go in casual and feel very comfortable

The staff is friendly & personable   and the prices are reasonable

I am a HUGE fan. I went for the first time and had something traditional and it was just okay. The second time I tried the Beef Noodle Soup and I was hooked. They also have different flavors (chicken and pork). They also have duck noodle soup which is pretty good even though I'm not a fan of duck. I am a big fan of Thai style Pho (beef noodle soup) and theirs is absolutely the best. In comparison to Vietnamese pho, Thai pho is already flavored and has a sweet taste to it. I just add a TON of the dry chili because I love spicy spicy food. I work in Tysons but will drive ALL the way out there for lunch because I crave it daily. Service is fast and overall good atmosphere.

They also do Thai-style dimsum. Only tried the seafood shumai which was delicious. I think they also do beer specials and happy hour specials.

I was pleasantly surprise by Sila Thai.  Thai restaurants are all over the place and I usually go into a new one with a pessimistic attitude, especially since I couldn't find many reviews of the place, but Sila Thai exceeded my expectations.  I had been on the lookout for a good thai place in the Chantilly area and hadn't yet found one.  Fortunately I've found my place!

I've had the duck and various noodle dishes.  The duck was nice and crispy with a good sauce (maybe a tad salty) and all noodle dishes have been well prepared.  They could stand to generate a little more heat in their dishes, especially when asked or when the menu implies a high level of spice, but overall flavor and quality was quite good.  They offer an excellent deal at lunch time with combos that include a choice of spring roll, soup or salad.

I will go back to Sila Thai many times, since I work in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.  There are just too many other, equally good, thai places out there.

I really enjoyed lunch here - I had enough to take with me and have for lunch the next day!
The food was GREAT, the portions were generous and the service was good (not great, but good!)
I was there for a business lunch and it was quiet enough to sit and talk to the people at the table without having to shout.  And it was easy to get a table even at the heart of lunch hour.

It was noon on Saturday and I was craving some pad see ew.  There was one problem: I was in Herndon.  The two Thai restaurants in Herndon were either closed for lunch or no longer in business.  Luckily Sila Thai was not too far.

There are lunch special available on Saturday and only cost $8.95.  The entree comes with a salad, soup, or spring roll.  I chose the last one.  The spring roll tends to be on the more vegetable-ly side.  The best I have tasted are at the Vietamese restaurant next door.

The pad see ew wa light on the broccoli, which some people may prefer.  The pork was tender and the noodles had the perfect smokey, carmelized taste.

Here's a tip: Always ask for extra chili sauce.  They will bring you a condiment carosal of four different types of sauces/condiments.  For the spicy meek to super spicy.

I would love to come again to try their new dim sun menu.

I realized here...that I don't really care much for Thai food.  My dish was spicy (drunken noodles) but plentiful.  I think that if you like Thai...you will like this place.

Been a while since I dined here, I used to go every few weeks cause their crispy beef with basil is amazing.  Not too sweet like most other restaruants, which allows you to really taste the basil.  Don't remember their menu being very large, if I don't remember what app that I had then it probably wasn't that mind blowing.

Don't get Pad Se Ew!  Noodles overcooked, tofu dry and hard, dish was tasteless.  Place was packed when I picked up my carry out.

Not oustanding, but not bad. They deliver, so plus there. Tasty food, but kinda oily. The extra oil wrecked my stomach. But having a delivery option when stuck in the office is nice.

What?  She won againist Bobby Flay in his pad thai throwdown?!?  I've gotta go here and surely enough it did not disappoint.  Ordered the chicken pad thai medium hot and it was delicious!  Not too tamarindy sour and with just enough chili kick.  Try to get here just before noon.  It's a pretty tiny place so it does get packed here like sardines.

Not horrible, but not that great. We went with friends who swore it's the best ever (that should have tipped me off...they're great is usually my blech or meh).

The country fried rice my friends' got was ok (I've had better). I got Pad Thai, and it was pretty tasteless with hunks of the bottom of scallions in it (not tasty or appealing). I might go again if I were in the area and friends wanted to go...but I sure wouldn't touch the Pad Thai. It'd have to be the rice.

What is worth the trip is the Milwakee Custard that's close by. Awesome custard!

    Service was efficient and good.

Over the last year or so, Sila Thai has become our local go-to for thai food both because of their expanded menu and because of their incredibly simple online delivery ordering system.  The quality of the food is nice and consistent and there are interesting choices that have caused me to stray from my normal Thai selections.  I don't have a lot of experience eating in the restaurant, but the delivery process and quality of food has been quire reliable.

This is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The service is good. I've been here 9 to 10 times and the waiters here are always around to ask if things are good and what not. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. They remodeled the restaurant and it looks very nice. When my family and I go there to eat, we usually order the Crispy Duck (I tried this dish at other restaurants and they do not COMPARE to Silla Thai's crispy duck). It is DELICIOUS. I crave it every two weeks, it's absurd. Their pad thai is never soggy and the flavor is exquisite. We've tried their dishes with curry, too. They're good, but nothing too special. Their thai ice tea is sweet and refreshing. We've ordered other dishes too, but we usually stick to pad thai and crispy duck and never get bored of them :) WOO! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

We actually were hoping to stop by at Three Thai Sushi but it's now closed for lunch on Saturdays and the same with Thai Basil.  Turns out we wished we would have waited a couple hours for either of these places that would have been open for dinner.  The decor was pretty nice and me and my Thai wife were pretty hungry for some good food.  It started out great with some genuinely friendly faces and pretty good appetizers.  She had som tum that was pretty good even though her request for spicey was not obliged.

So here we are with Appetizers that were pretty good and then the entrees ...enter the Twilight Zone ...

I had Pad Prik King (beef) as always I do with a new Thai place .  It looked in color as the beef had been boiled, one taste of it and it was very strange the texture was right, the color very wrong, the smell was slight of bad meat and absolutely zero taste.   It was surreal almost like getting a Novocaine shot at the dentist and touching your face and not feeling your hand.  One of the worst beef dishes I've had in my life so that equals 0/10.

Her beef noodle soup, having the same beef, had the same issues.  The broth was not to bad but she said other places were much better with the tastes, she described it as having hints of sweetness. It's obvious they are using cheap ingredients and/or meat passed or near to it's usable date.  Keep the decor, the floor staff and fire the cook and whoever manages the ingredients/purchases them.  She gave it a 2 / 10.

We couldn't wait to leave ... I did eat most of my rice and my string beans but had a big pile of beef left on the plate.  When the waitress asked us if we wished to take it with us we be both said "no" in unison ... it was pretty funny.

I'll chalk it up to two bad dishes this many positive yelpers can't all be wrong.  Jokingly I asked her if she wanted Kentucky Fried Chicken and now wished we would have stopped across the street there.  For me about 50 Thai restaurants in the region and this would be the last one I would go back to.  Sorry but for us Sila Thai will make our stomachs wretch when we pass by you to the Lotte market.
