Signature Grand the
3 reviews for Signature Grand the
Well this place is just swanky. The food is actually presented with a show, sort of a trumpeting of the arrival of dinner. Pretty impressive, if not a little cheesy. Think "Hail to the Chief" meets the starting lineup for the Miami Heat. Seriously. There's a strobe light.
Definitely a great place for a special event, such as a business function although I'd look elsewhere for something like a wedding but that's just personal taste. I was there for a bar association dinner and the layout is great for mingling and meeting people (I got to meet the Chief Justice of the FL Supreme Court) and the atmosphere definitely gives you good conversation material.
The staff was VERY professional, probably the best I've seen in a long time. The food was delicious and the drinks were poured generously!
I only gave it 4 stars because it's in sort of a random location and there's just something about it that makes it feel a little too commercial.
The Signature Grand is a palatial event center. It has a half dozen rooms that can accommodate wedding receptions and parties, big and small. The lobby's decor is tasteful and its upkeep is excellent. With its variety of ballrooms, Signature Grand reminds me of a hotel's meeting area, except that it dispenses with business meetings and focuses on celebrations.
I went to a wedding reception in the main ballroom. There were about 250 guests, but at least 50 more could have fit. As far as I could tell, service duties were divided between a caterer and the Signature Grand's own staff. SG's servers did a fine job circulating hors d'oeuvres and refilling water. The bartenders, who staffed the ballroom's two bars, made strong drinks. (Tip to the under-21 crowd: they don't card minors. A few youngsters from other parties crashed the reception and sheepishly ordered drinks.) I walked around to the other ballrooms and thought those spaces were fine for events with fewer than 100 people.
For it's stellar service, good location off the highway and superb ambience, I highly recommend The Signature Grand.
The Signature Grand was the brain child of owner Michael Pecora and since his death the place has not been the same. Something is missing. By the way Yelp you should know that Jen L. post is made by employee of abinko and paid to promote Signature Grand and Arlene Pecora, x-wife of Mr. Pecora. So check your guidelines Just sayin'
