5 reviews for Sierra Repertory Theatre - East Sonora
From Fresno, but wanted to spend a weekend out of town. This fit the bill and was soooo worth the 3 hours drive. I will be back SRT:)
I was initially concerned about the seating since I didn't really know how it was setup, but my worries were unfounded. SRT has the best seating design of a small theatre I have ever seen. Seated anywhere in the room you can hear and see just fine.
They have a small snack bar, with cookies, brownies, coffee, soda & wine. A nice little selection.
Go if you haven't been and then go again:)
Break a leg!
I love the SRT! I have such fond memories of attending plays with my mom, grandma and sisters. We would always have lunch at some cute local restaurant and then go to SRT for a play.
The staff and actors do such an amazing job! The theater was remodeled over 10 years ago (it used to be really tiny) and it looks really cute. The performances are top notch and very entertaining. I used to look forward to intermission because they served hot cider. Such a tummy warming treat during the fall and winter months!

Romeo and Juliet set in New Orleans with a voodoo priestess! Fantastic!
If you are a Shakespeare fan - go see it.
If you aren't a Shakespeare fan - go see it - a great production!
I'm going to go again because it was so good!
SRT - thank you!

I have attended several performances at SRT - every one was wonderful. For such a small town Sonora… Read more »
We've attended SRT for years and love it. I would attend an SRT production over going to San Francisco any time. I've also seen productions on Broadway and can honestly say that going to SRT is just as enjoyable. In fact, when we left Thoroughly Modern Millie, I overheard someone say, "I saw this on Broadway, and SRT's production is better."
We just saw Moonlight and Magnolias at SRT's East Sonora Theatre. Funny, funny, funny! It's the story of how the script for Gone With The Wind was rewritten in five days. Is it a true story? Who cares? This is really hilarious. We saw Beauty and the Beast at this same theater last year, that was spectacular and we'll definitely be back to enjoy White Christmas in December! Even if you're not in the Sonora area, this is definitely worth a trip up to the foothills!
