6 reviews for Sierra Lakes Golf Club
The selfish guy in me has taken a back seat to the more generous and giving soul that I am. I seriously considered not writing this review for the simple reason that as an avid golfer, I prefer to keep local gems to myself. Why promote a place that will only bring more people and result in slower play? But I decided it was only fair to my fellow golfers that I reveal this little nugget for all to enjoy.
I used to play this track a few years ago, but honestly I stopped going in part because they were packing in the tee times and the rounds were getting annoyingly long. Well, I have been back 3 times in the span of 1 week, and I can say that for the most part, it has been smooth sailing. To any avid golfer, the pace of play is almost as important if not more so than the course conditions. In this case, both the course conditions and the pace of play are superb. The fairways have that familiar "criss cross" cut that you see on the PGA tour, and the greens are well maintained and very challenging. The course is pretty wide open, which means for the average golfer, fewer lost balls. The winds do kick up, but that is to be expected in that wind tunnel called Fontana. I will be back many times this spring and summer.
This place is great, had a good time here lost a lot of balls. And blamed my partner for the houses I hit!! Their signature hole is the 195-yard par-3 No. 6. The tee shot must be carried over water to a green guarded by three bunkers. What else can I say? I'll be back! And I'll get my A$$ kicked again. Just got to love it!

Took my mom here for her bday brunch. Main reason we chose it, is because it's half way between her house in Palm Springs and my house in Santa Clarita, right off the 210 freeway, with great views of the golf course.
The brunch was a decent price ($21 for adults and $16 fr kids). There was a HUGE selection of hot foods, a meat station, omelet & taco stations and desserts. The omelets were yummy and plentiful and the breakfast items (waffle, french toast, etc.. ) were also tasty.
However.. there were mixed reviews at our table for everything else.... my brother-in-law really enjoyed everything, whereas my husband wasn't impressed with much at all. We all agreed the desserts were not that great (except for the chocolate covered strawberry's) and should be a little more traditional.
The service was excellent, everyone was very nice. And I LOVED that they gave our entire table full pitchers of OJ, cranberry juice, iced water & coffee! For me.. this was the best part!
I love the food here, it can be a little pricey depending on how much you are looking to spend but after eating at other brunch's thats about the average price. The selection is huge, and you almost get mad that you don't get to try everything there because you get so full. This place is highly recommended for brunch.
Fun little course. Houses line the holes and I hit 2 or 3 myself, you will want to keep drives straight. Course itself is in pretty good condition, no complaints. It took almost 5 hours. Lots of seniors in the morning and grouped in 5's. Pretty good rates for what you get. All include cart. I'd recommend it if you are out in the area.
This golf course has so much going for it.
1. Good customer service: especially Roy, the starter. Great guy
2. The conditions: the course is in great shape. Hardly any dead spots and the greens run fair and fast. Heard the head greenskeeper is an absolute genius.
3. The price: under $100 dollars
4. Pretty course that plays both easy and tough. Watch the prevailing wind.
5. Despite being in a residential development. The houses really dont come into play.
Yet, on a busy day, the course is very slow. I had a round that played roughly 5 hours for 15 holes. I had to cut my day short and saw what was in front of me...it was novices getting lessons, kids, and bad golfers who HAVE to play from the tips.
But if you go on a non busy day. It's a great place to play. Sierra Lakes is a great, affordable place to play but everyone knows that. So it gets very busy.
