DELICIOUS!
I come thru for Mission Mangos all the time.
Smoothies are THICK with all natural fruits and ingredients. That's why I love Sidewalk Juice.
Whatever it is you order, I personally guarantee you will taste the fruits used to create it.
The staff is extremely friendly. This place is even better now that the staff wears Tshirts. Before, it was difficult to differenciate staff from customers and people just lounging around.

[Green Zebra Coupon:  20% off purchase or $2 off a Green Energy drink]

Maybe I'm just used to "sidewalk" food meaning cheap -- good and cheap. This place is good-ish, I wasn't un-happy with the coconut blended thing I ordered, but the price, even at 20% off, is obscene. I can't imagine that they pay much for rent and, unless all those sullen employees are making bank with benefits behind that teeny counter, they can't have much by the way of operating costs.

Plus, it took almost 10 minutes for them to make the damn thing (not including the time I spent in line) which I guess was OK, since, in that time, my food at Jay's Cheesesteak got ordered and came.

Still, I can't give them one star since the juice itself was pretty good.

Yum, yum, yum.  Their sidewalk julius is the best!  I could live on that stuff any given day of the year!  The guys behind the counter are adorable as well.   Their smoothies are kind of pricey, but considering how all the ingredients are organic, it's pretty understandable.

Psst, I'll tell you a secret .... come here instead of Bi-Rite Creamery.  This place is healthier, friendlier, and more delicious.  Don't tell anyone, or it'll get too crowded.  Actually, forget what I just said.  This place SUCKS!  Go to Bi-Rite and form a long line while we people who enjoy delicious -- uh, I mean BAD -- smoothies could make our order in less than 2 minutes.  So, yeah, stay away from this place and let ME enjoy it in all its glory.

Eh.

I have lived in the Mission for a loonngg time now and I had never tried Sidewalk Juice before. So last week, on one of those hot days, the BF and I decided to give it a go.

It looked promising. They have a huge selection and a lot of their beverages are made with soy (My tummy thanks me for that). But, honestly, the drinks were just ok..... AND (like others have mentioned) expensive.

I paid $9.90 for 2 "ok" smoothies. I had the Bananas and Cream. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. My boyfriend had your usual Strawberry Banana. And his was not good at all. Being the great girlfriend that I am, I gave him my OK Bananas and Cream for his BLAH Strawberry Banana.

On a side note, walking up to order was a little awkward. It took me a little while to realize that the guy chillin' at the doorway was there to take my order. A little "Hello" would have helped.

I will come again, but I think next time I will try the fruit juice rather than the smoothies.

I'll come back THEN with hopefully another star.

*********ATTENTION OWNER*******

I was very UNHAPPY to see that my favorite juice crew of neighborhood
characters have been homogenized to wearing SIDEWALK JUICE TSHIRTS.

I think this move is incredibly TACKY and DOES NOT fit with the casual attitudeand lifestyle found in the MISSION which is known for celebrating diversity and individual fashion styles.

Juice is juice, I can get juice on any corner, but what I dont get on every corner is the eye opening meet-n- greet of some of my favorite eclectic cats wrapped up in the clothes that they prefer to greet the world in. If the owners of this joint think that forcing employees to wear a stupid t-shirt will somehow legitimize his/her business - then they are MISTAKEN. YOU LOOK STUPID!!!!!!!!!

Nobody goes to SIDEWALK cause of the juice or its reputation alone. I love the juice, but the reason i do go there is to check in on whats goin down in the hood and to see what blend of low-fi hipster diggs will be on display.  The MISSION is built on individuality and casual flair.  TAke your lame approach to the Marina where its expected.

How out-of-touch are you with the neighborhood you live in?????
(Maybe you dont live here?! hmmmmmmmm...I wonder)

TAKE A GOOD LOOK AROUND!!!!

AND

DO US ALL A FAVOR AND LOSE THE STUPID T-SHIRTS!!

THEY MAKE THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD LOOK  BAD!!

AND THEY MAKE THE OWNER LOOK LIKE A  "MONEY CHASING LETS-BUILD-A-FRANCHISE CORPORATE DREAMING DOUCHE BAG."

There is no way juice should cost SEVEN DOLLARS when the most exotic ingredient in the mix is kale. You could totally do this at home for a tiny, tiny fraction of the price if you had the right equipment. With that said, though, an orange/carrot juice ($3.50 for 12 oz) really does hit the spot on those rare warm days. Service is a bit slow with just two guys in this little janitor's closet-sized space, but they're really nice, and the outside of the storefront screams yuppie organic cuteness.

It just occurred to me that it's almost summer, which means I'll soon be a regular visitor to Sidewalk Juice again!

On a hot afternoon in the Mission, nothing beats Sidewalk Juice.  (Sorry, Bi-Rite Creamery...)  Beats Jamba Juice by a mile.  Yummy local / organic ingredients, and a ton of possibilities in terms of fruit / flavor combinations.  My favorites are all the ginger flavors (just go easy on it -- it can be fierce!).  Also, if you're feeling a bit sickly, having a Sidewalk Juice makes you feel like you're having something healthy (I mean, it *is* full of fruity fruity goodness).

Love it love it love it.  Once it starts getting hot, do yourself a favor & make a trip. :)

Finally, a suitably indie replacement for Jamba Juice.  And not surprisingly, it's at 21st and Valencia (quite possibly the center of the known Yelp-iverse).  Note the emphasis on "Sidewalk": that's where you stand when you order (through the front window), and that's where you'll be drinking your smoothie too.  In other words, there is no inside, and no seats.  So have a place to walk to.

As for smoothie choices, I was here on a cold morning and had to struggle against the temptation to order something chocolate or nut-based.  But in the end I went with Good Morning Granola because it has strawberries, and because, frankly, I wasn't sure how granola in a smoothie works.  Turns out they blend it in so you get only a subtle flavor/texture effect.  Speaking of texture, it's a lot smoother than JJ's chunky slushies--in fact, it bears a striking resemblance to the homemade kind.

Don't overlook the extended smoothie menu on the other side of the door.

This is what a vegan girl likes. I walked up to the sidewalk juice counter to ask about what was vegan, and the very nice guy working told me that anything could be made vegan (they had vegan froyo even!). I asked him what was good, and he made up a smoothie especially for me! He even got me to test it before he served it to me! That, friends, is A1.

The smoothies are all $4.95, and they are (as far as I can tell) made from actual fruit and stuff, not powders or syrups. Like I said, the service was ace, and there are three cute wooden benches along the palm-tree wall mural right next to where you order.

I can't think of anything else I'd want from a juice/smoothie bar, and if you can, you're probably better off in L.A.

ok, no not really... they're still here with me now!
SF I Miss you...and I know that when I visit there I will surely come back to get my Sidewalk Juice On!

This place is great!    Conveniently located in The Mission and walkable distance from my friend's place and other neighborhood friendlies/small shops...
Boogaloos restaurant on 22nd for Breakfast...YUM!

I remember the service always being really friendly and good =)
Last time I was in s.f. my friends and I would get juice here almost every morning.

Note: If you get Granola in your smoothie it will be well blended and not chunky sprinkled granola.

Enjoy the Fa Fa Fa Freshness Kids!

i used to love this place but now it's on my shit list.  the guy with the dirt 'stache and curly hair is a complete douche!! when i finally got to the window to order my juice the guy told me that they didn't do juices after 5:30 (even though the person in front of me just walked away with one!), then he offered me an espresso while it was a warm 75 degrees out...what an idiot! i ended up walking away and going to frapez on 18th street, which has way healthier smoothies/juices and makes sidewalk juice seem like a jamba-juice knock-off.

I love juice and smoothies unconditionally. I love Jamba Juice, I love those diners with "the best fresh-squeezed," so how could I not love this place?  Friendly people here serve up traditional smoothies and fresh juices, from the ever-true orange & pineapple to nasty beets & carrots (whoops. Did I say unconditionally?).

Cons: on the expensive side for what it is. They don't take plastic. And make sure to order ice with any fresh squeezed juice. Otherwise the refreshing drink you were hoping for will result in disappointment.

Sidewalk Juice is easily my favorite juice bar in the city.  It's convenient, the vibe is laid back, and everyone that mans the walk-up joint is uber friendly.  They'll gladly customize any drink, on or off the menu.  Staying simple, the bulk of the menu focuses solely on beverages:  Smoothies (made with fro-yo or sorbet), coffee, and juices/coolers.  They now also serve Maggie Mudd ice cream.

My first trip for a smoothie wasn't very memorable, and not worthy enough to warrant a review.  It wasn't until recently that I've been frequenting for the juices, which gives places like Judahlicious and Power Source a run for their money.  I'm a fan of the Mission Elixir; the ginger gives it an added kick.  Beware the Green Energy, as it is not for the faint of heart.  It's spicy, tart, and everything in between--not easily palatable.  Interestingly enough, it's said to be the best selling.  Go figure.

The downside is shelling out $5+ for, essentially, a medley of pureed fruits and vegetables in a cup.  The smoothies will satisfy just about everyone, but check out their juices if you can hack it.

Whenever I go to work with a foreign colored beverage, I get, "What is that?"  Then I have to explain it's contents...  I've been lucky to find numerous juice places in the mission area near work to continue this ever mysterious aspect of my presence.
Sidewalk is a good option. I like being able to come up with  my own veg blends. the small seems to be a 12 oz, which is larger than Gratitude's small size.  But I hear from colleagues that Tortas Los Picudos has an even large small at a better value......
I almost walked into the entryway, I missed the hole in the wall window to order.
Juices are organic and supporting the little peeps is good practice.

A bit on the expensive side, but oh-so-good.  The Berries Valencia is my "Emergen-C," --  I get one if I think I might be getting sick, and voila! I am better. Organic juice in any combo you like, made fresh and fast by friendly people.  Just great.

However I have to agree with Tara that "Sidewalk Juice" is a poor name.  Almost as bad as "Urban Bread," which just does not conjure up the right images for me.

Juices are ok --  I'd rate them 3-4 stars. Pretty straight-forward. You could make the same at home if you wanted, but it is nice to have someone do it for you when you have a bit of cash to throw around. Although their espresso is horrible. I don't know if it's the barista or the coffee, but it tasted burnt and watered down. 1 sad star for the coffee. They should just take them off their list and stick to juice and smoothies. I do love the little benches outside, and I've always had friendly service.

Normally I turn up my nose at anything that's served with a straw and costs five bucks, especially when I can't physically finish it. But not here. Get two straws, share and don't bitch. They don't skimp on the ingredients-- this is like 2 POUNDS of juice.

When my boyfriend was sick the very berry made him better for a whole afternoon (turned out he had walking pneumonia-- kinda hard to conquer). I guess he should have gone for their influenza elixir, but the drink costs 9 bucks-- someone report back whether it's worth it!

Personal favorites: the almond and the peanut butter (warning: Does Contain Nutella!). I also love how Sidewalk Juice smells like a European Hostel and the kids that work there aren't really kids, kind of like how the "Real World" is now. But they are super nice-- and often step outside the juice box to take your order on the sidewalk.

An appropriate name for this juice joint, since you literally go up and order at the counter, right on 21st Street. The staff and owner (he's the son of the guy who owns Valencia Whole Foods http://www.yelp.com/bi... across the street) are rare finds: really nice folks who are enthused about making you some smooth juice!

Any of the smoothies are delish. I'm also a fan of a good wheat grass shot and they give a plentiful pour, plus they refill your cup with orange juice to make sure you get any remnants.

Perfect stop anytime you are in the Nission and need a boost of something good.

This place is totally freakin' awesome. They have tons of different juices, smoothies and freezes to choose from, all of which are customizable (right down to the proportions--for example, "Would you like that with low, medium, or lots of ginger?")--or you can just order a totally custom one. They're not astoundingly cheap but I'm pretty sure they're less than any chain juice/smoothie place out there. All the people who work here are super-nice, too!

I just wish they were open later! Whenever I get a pizza for dinner at Serrano's, I'm always cravin' some Sidewalk to go with it...and they're always closed by then. Sigh.

Holy wow.  Exactly what I was in the mood for.  I like the little walk-up window and the lack of fluorescent lighting and pretension.  Everyone is super-nice and the service is swift.  The Berries Valencia is awesome.  Thick, with just the right amount of tartness.  I was impressed.  I'll be back for sure.

Sidenote: I'm very pleased that they have acai.  And almond butter (and almond milk!).  And all kinds of other cool ingredients that really delicious in smoothies, but most juice places don't think to carry.

Really, there's not much to complain about. There's no atmosphere to be found, seeing as it's a walk-up window. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for -- fantastic beverages.

I got the almond somethingoranother, vegan style, and it was probably the  best blended thing I've ever had. Like a milkshake, but seemingly better for you and twice as delicious. My friend got the, um, Berry Bliss with acai and it, too, was great.

What more do you want? Friendly service, good for you, good tasting, clean, and prompt.

Sidewalk juice gets five stars for deliciousness, but I have to knock one off for the prices, and I'm tempted to take away another for the smallish sizes . . .

If we're talking about the product though, I owe Sidewalk Juice a lot of goodwill for introducing me to beet-carrot-celery juice - this stuff is the nectar of the gods.  Celery makes it so fresh!  Carrot makes it so creamy and earthy and delicious!  Beet makes it so sweet and juicy!

Dang i wish I could afford five dollar beverages . . . I suppose if I cut into my beer budget this could happen for me, but let's face it, that's not about to happen, ever.   The issue is that this juice is not a social beverage - I can't exactly enjoy it at night with a friend, cause there's no tables, it's a stand - thus I particularly resent the high prices.  $5 beers are easily justified by the presence of a booth at which to park myself.

Really, really good juice though.  a treat.  FRESH.

Holy fuckola. I used to live a few doors down from the this little place. Back then it was a tiny story for a seamstress or something like that. I never really knew as it was constantly closed.

Back then, if I wanted something quick to eat, I would either have to choose from Jay's Cheesesteak  (right next door) or Serrano's Pizza (across the street).  If Sidewalk Juice existed then I would have been living a healthy life.

Damn you, Fate! Now I'm fat and I have to walk three blocks to get to Sidewalk Juice.  Oh the humanity!
