I've been going here since I was a little girl when they were over on Walnut Street....the food has always delivered.  The portions are generous and taste amazing.  I had the lasagna and my boyfriend had the pasta combo - both were delicious.   The spaghetti and pizza are also good.   The most amazing thing though is the garlic rolls.  I've never found their equivalent anywhere else!

You could hardly ask for a friendlier, more accommodating staff than here at Siciliano's.  Misty was the server of our very large 15+ group.  She attended to everyone with equal care and not one order was incorrect.  She made took special requests with a warm smile and even treated a couple of people to complimentary coffee.  If this restaurant wasn't so far away, I'd be delighted to return often just for the pleasure of Misty's service making the meal that much more enjoyable.

Now, to the food.  I had lasagna and cannelloni.  Both were served piping hot with a good amount of sauce and cheese backed on top.  I'd probably try something else next time just because neither dish was particularly impressive.  Both were good and tasty enough for me to finish the plate, mind you.  Just not remarkable.

The freshly baked garlic bread rolls were deLISH!  And I had 2 of them.  No, wait.  3 of them.  Um, ok, ok.  I had 4.  But, who's counting?

Clean interior, quaintly decorated, bustling staff throughout with lots of smiles.  Spotless restroom.  Ample parking.  Easy to find right off Buckingham.  I recommend it if you haven't tried it yet.

And if you go, ask for Misty's station!

I have been here several times because it's fairly close to work. Do I like it? Not really. Their garlic bread is probably the highlight here, but it has made my tummy sick. There's really nothing wrong with it because none of my co-workers has gotten the same problem. My tummy just can't handle super greasy food, and this place makes super greasy garlic bread. The flavor is great and delicious. If you can't take super oily/greasy bread like myself, you probably want to avoid it.

Now let's talk about their dish. I personally love pasta, and this place does not make nice flavor pasta dish. To me, most of their dish taste the same. As if they have only one type of tomato sauce. For example, my friend ordered baked ziti, and I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. Both dish tasted exactly the same. The diff was she had baked cheese, and I had meat. I do not recommend this place.

Easily the worst Italian I've ever had. The first warning sign came upon entry, when my boyfriend and I were assaulted by the melodramatic strains of Josh Groban. The garlic rolls that soon arrived have been highly overrated by other reviewers and the salad was forgettable, but in themselves those would not have been major problems.

Things really went south around our entrees. I had the tortellini and my companion had the meat ravioli. Upon receipt, he immediately noted that it was undercooked, but as we had an appointment to make, there was no time to send it back. He later told me that he regretted eating the dish as soon as he began, and was sick to the point of wanting to vomit for several hours after we left. I had a similar, if not as intense, reaction to my tortellini. I feel the least I can ask of a restaurant is that it not cause gastric discomfort, and in this respect was disappointed.

Our waiter was polite, helpful, and quick, but like the musicians on the Titanic, was working gamely at a doomed endeavour. I can only assume the positive reviewers must have iron stomachs, but for anyone looking for good Italian food, almost anyplace would be preferable, even (gasp) the Olive Garden.

This place is awful! It used to be decent before it moved but not at all anymore! I went around 2 and I know that's an off time but considering no one else was in the restaurant you would think they would want to take care of the people who are in there. Took the server at least 10 minutes to come over to us. I ordered baked ziti and the top was black and dark brown! Why you would even serve that is beyond me! Minestrone was waaay too salty! Service was so slow and I just can't get over the fact that they served my food burnt! Will never be back!

When we drove up I was surprised to find a restaurant the size of a catering hall.  Not a good sign but after a friend's recommendation and these good reviews, we decided to give it a try.  Inside it was super busy and smelled good.  I was getting excited--as a native New Yorker, I was hoping I finally found a good local Italian joint.

It started out on a high note.  The garlic rolls were awesome.  Buttery and warm, I could eat these all day long.  I made myself stop eating them to save room for my entree.  If the rest of the meal was as good as these rolls of tasty deliciousness, this would be a four star review.  However, things went downhill from there.

You get soup and salad with your entree and both were throwaways.  No big deal.  Then came the entrees.  I ordered chicken francaise (one of my favorite dishes) and my boyfriend ordered chicken Marsala.  Neither were what they should have been.  Both recipes call for chicken coated in flour and lightly fried.  A francaise sauce consists of lemon, wine and butter while Marsala sauce has wine and mushrooms.  Instead we were given plain chicken breasts and the only difference between the sauces was about three shades of brown.  No lemon, no wine, just an overly seasoned sauce which overpowered the dish.  Even judging the dishes for what they were, it was still disappointing.  Almost everything was just meh.

I get the impression the kitchen is just churning out food without any inspiration or attention to detail. I could create a more authentic Italian experience at home and I don't have a drop of Italian in my blood.  I wish I had eaten all of those garlic rolls, they are the only thing that made our dinner worthwhile.

Don't expect to walk in here and leave with any sort of respect from your gut.  It will be full.  It will be tired.  It will be expanded.  It will be so freaking satisfied, but a little mad at you that you lost control.

Rolls, soup AND salad.  Note that I wrote AND, not Either....both!  Wow.
I think that he main focus should always be on the bread at Italian restaurants, and this place does not let down.  Seriously tasty garlic knots.  Need I say more?

The pasta dish that I had was tasty and added the the greatness that is, A Taste of Italy.

Don't be taken off guard by the "funeral home" look of the entrance as it is actually quite nice inside.

We ate here on a Groupon last night and while the food was not bad, it was largely underwhelming.

It's a pretty expensive place considering that there was nothing extraordinary about the food, although you do get a lot with any order - a cup of fairly tasty minestrone, buttery garlic rolls which were quite good and not too strong on the garlic, and a very boring dinner salad (lettuce, croutons, dressing of choice, and optional olives.)

I ordered shrimp scampi which was decent, but then it's pretty hard to screw up shrimp scampi.  It came with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce - and I know I shouldn't complain since I knew this was part of the meal when I ordered, but there's nothing more unexciting than plain spaghetti and marinara.

My husband ordered the stuffed chicken marsala and came to a similar verdict - okay, but nothing special.

To their credit, the service was very good.  Our waiter was professional, polite, and attentive.  But since food is what it's all about, we likely won't be back.  If you're craving Italian, I'd say drive the extra mile to Rowlett and try Cosa Nostra instead.

My family and I have been regulars here since I was born! My family is friends with the owners so this is definitely a family tradition. It brings back memories of getting lunch with my dad after I got my braces tightened and celebrating special moments in my life.

The portions are more than generous. When you sit down you get a glorious plate of garlic rolls that melt in your mouth and will leave you craving more and more! Next comes the soup! I have never had minestrone soup that compares to theirs. It's good when you dunk the rolls in the soup too! haha then comes the salad!! It's delicious too! I recommend the lasagna! It's so delicious! Every thing is delicious!!!

Highly recommend this place! Never disappoints!

It's just wrong!  WRONG I TELL YOU!

My job is sending me away for the next 4 months...and I JUST found this place!!!  Although, it seems it's been here for 29+ years....  Hmmm....too bad http://Yelp.com wasn't around in 1996 when I first moved to the Dallas area.

So here is the deal.  I'm having dinner with a friend, taking her out for her birthday (she's 29!  AGAIN!)....and she says she wants to try this little Italian place.  Little?  It's not that little.

So we get there and they are having a private party in one of the rooms (wedding reception?) so it appears we are a bit underdressed...but we stayed with it....cause we were hungry.

Good thing since we were in the RIGHT place!  First thing that hits the table after we sit down, 9 little garlic knots which are very nicely seasoned with olive oil and other spices.

For the entree?  I ordered the Stuffed Chicken Marsala.  You need to be hungry when you come here, because they don't do small anything.

It was wonderful!  Nicely done with mushrooms and a tasty marsala sauce.  I think there was spagetti somewhere under the chicken and mushrooms, but I couldn't find it.  LOL

The house salad?  ok, but this is not why you come here.

    Service?  TOP NOTCH!

Parking?  Lots!  The back lot is actually closer to the door than the front.

I can't wait to try it again!  A 5 star effort on the first visit!!

I am a cautious diner when it comes to Italian food. The first time I go to an italian restaurant, I always order pasta with either meatballs or sausage. In my experience, if they screw the basic dishes up, then the rest of the food will suck. But in going to Siciliano's, I must say that they do the base pasta dish (angel hair and sausage) very well. Good sauce, good sausage and the pasta was not overcooked.

Loved the garlic rolls, and loved the minestrone - it is some of the best I have had in a while.

Went back a week later, had the rollitini. Excellent!

Recommend this place as one of the better Southern Italian restaurants located in the Richardson-Garland-Plano area.

In my experience, Dallas/Fort Worth is easily one of the best places to eat in the United States.  However, non-chain Italian Food (i.e. - no Maggiano's, Carrabba's, or Buca's) is much harder to come by than you would think.

That being said, for a local Italian joint, Siciliano's is pretty damn good.  Upon walking in, you can tell that Siciliano's is a family-owned place that has been around for many, many years.

Based on the pasta alone, I'd give Siciliano's 3 stars.  Good, but not great.  However, there are two things here that are worth mentioning.  Those are:

1 - The garlic rolls. These are phenomenal.  And addictive.

2 - The pizza.  The pizza is excellent, and is one of the (perhaps the) best, most authentic crusts in town.  The Pizza is a MUST try.

However, don't get me wrong--Siciliano's is NOT a "pizza joint."  If you like Campisi's, you should certainly try Siciliano's.  Campisi's is like Siciliano's, but a step towards being more of a pizza joint.

Oh man I totally forgot about this place! (mainly because I forgot the name). I haven't been here since my high school graduation (almost 5 years ago). I forgot how much I loved this place.

Their garlic rolls are awesome, I love to eat them with a big bowl of their minestrone. It's great.

I'm not a big italian guy (that sounded...wrong...) but I can come here and get my eat on easily.

I need to take a trip over here again. Thanks Yelp for reminding me of places!!!!

I am seriously drooling writing this review. Sicilianos is almost too good to be true.

First off, its GORGEOUS and huge, inside and out. I love to sit on the patio by the koi pond when the weather is nice. The whole place is beautifully decorated, and they have several different seating areas that make it perfect for everything from drinks at the bar, to a casual dinner, to a romantic date.

Uh, and no, its not in a 'shady' part of town. Its right next to a gated retirement community for god's sake.

I've never had a wait for a table and the waitstaff is always super attentive, bringing refills and more of those evil, delicious little rolls without ever needing to be asked.

Speaking of the rolls, lets talk about the food, shall we? Sicilianos gives you SO MUCH food for so cheap its hard to believe its even real. For around 11 bucks, you get a HUGE plate of pasta that will feed you for 2 days, a yummy, super fresh salad, a cup of their delicious minestone soup... and of course, endless fresh garlic rolls. They even will bag up a fresh batch for you to take home with your leftovers.

The garlic rolls are a little piece of heaven, but try not to be like me and gorge yourself on them before you get your entree, because their entrees are amazing. Their pasta is perfect, and very obviously freshly made. They have the best alfredo sauce in Dallas, bar none.. the perfect combination of cheese, butter, and garlic. Not too creamy or liquidy, and not too cheesy. Just perfection. Their lasagna is insanely good as well.. honestly, its all good. I havent had a single dish here that I would consider bad.

If you manage to have any room left at the end of your meal after the mountains of food you've been served, try the cannoli. Its ridiculous.

Sicilianos is some of the best italian in dallas, bar none.. without the ridiculous, snobby downtown atmosphere. Just a beautiful restaurant with tons of delicious food at insanely low prices.

This family-owned Italian restaurant has been around since 1981, and they've definitely figured out how to make delicious food.

The meal starts with fantastic hot rolls, which are covered in butter, parmesan cheese, and an herb that could well be parsley.  Soup and salad are included with most meals, and while the soup is good, the salad is, if you neglect to get the dressing on the side, rather like another serving of soup.

Most recently, I ordered the veal scallopini for my main course, which had very good flavor and an excellent sauce consistency.  The veal, itself, was a little fatty, but it was tender and cooked well.

The service isn't what you might expect from a family-owned establishment: it's mostly teenagers with evening jobs who are still developing a work ethic.  After a glass or two of their delicious (delicious for $4.50 a glass, that is) house chianti, though, the lack of waitstaff grace becomes much more excusable.

Overall, A Taste of Italy is a reasonably-priced restaurant with a good selection of tasty food.

Siciliano's is most memorable for their hot, buttery, parmesan rolls that they constantly bring out.  They're irresistible.

This place is also great for large parties.  Our party of 9 came in for lunch, so we asked for a table outside.  It was perfect because there was a small "pond" with koi fish.  You wouldn't think of seeing Koi at an Italian place, but hey.. Siciliano's is located right next to Saigon Taipei, an Asian supermarket.

We got a chicken rollatini, which fed the both of us since the delicious rolls AND water were expanding in our stomachs.

Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing, welcoming, and the walls were decorated with authentic Italian family pictures.  Olive Garden couldn't do that! :p

It was delicious. It was also kinda weird. The restaurant is this big, dark, cavern of a place that looks like a funeral home from outside.

When we sat down, we almost left because the place smelled of cigarettes - and not just any cigarettes, really nasty ones. We figured out that someone was smoking at the bar, and once they stopped the smell went away and we enjoyed our dinner.

The bread established a new standard for restaurants that serve bread before the meal. It was really, really tasty.

The food was delicious, but forgettable. Case in point, I'm finishing this review a few weeks after the fact, and I can't remember what I ate. I think it had alfredo sauce. Everyone in my party enjoyed it, but it just didn't have that "thing" that would make us go out of our way to come back.

This place is alright. It looks pretty nice inside and out and being in the area it's in, it's kind of surprising when you walk up to the front door.

    The bad:
The salad comes out drenched in dressing and there's waaay too much of the crunchy white end pieces and not enough real pieces of lettuce.

The eggplant parm I had was mediocre, nothing to say much about.

After all the negative, I will have admit that the garlic knots are really yummmm, I definitely am craving them now...I took the extras home the 2 times I went.

Exterior: large, but more warehouse conversion like. Interior, delightfully pleasant with many details from italy. Murals of various part of Italy,  faux columns, booth and table seating, uniformed waiters.  Initial service: water, garlic bread( delicious), friendly waiter. Menu, too large. my wife and I decided to do the combination plate and try 5-6 dishes. meal presentation was poor  as everything was all in one plate so it was difficult to id and savor each separate item,. Additionally our waiter failed to bring us the correct order the first time  around.
Food: lasagna: bolognese, standard fare. Cannelloni, cheap ricotta, flavor less, but this might be because I was having  a hard time deciphering what I was eating. Eggplant parmigiana, I fell the eggplant was a lite too thinly sliced leaving me with a very thin meal. Veal parmigiana was decent, but nothing to write home about.

My son had a mushroom\ham\pineapple calzone (hey that's what he wanted) , but honestly the mushrooms tasted a little off, not cooked enough and they were flavorless.
Considerations: we were the last meal out of the kitchen that night but that wasn't our fault.

I would tentatively try this again, as their garlic knots are some of the best I have tasted, I would try a single meal though and I would probably lean more towards a white sauce as their Mariana was just good, but not great. I say this without having tasted their white sauce.

I've definitely had better Italian, but overall the food was satisfactory. I guess the thing I was put off by the most was the fact that the food seemed to be all bulk purchases.. banquet food, kinda bland. I liked the garlic rolls, but the rest of the food was just okay. My biggest complaint is that it felt like we were put in the back room and forgotten about. In my opinion, the entire meal took too long for a lunch at 1 hr 20 min. Won't be making any special trips back, but it was a welcome break from all the Tex Mex I usually have!

Decent food and great service sums this place up for me.
The waiters are prompt and friendly, even when they're very busy. We had no trouble getting a table and our food was delivered fast.

Free salad and soup with every entree. Salad dressing was great, but the lettuce was pretty soggy. Soup was also good, but it was pretty watery. I loved the free garlic rolls! They were delicious, although very dense and took up a lot of my stomach room for the main course.

I ordered the Blackened Grilled Fettuccine Alfredo. The chicken was spot on, although very heavily seasoned. This would have been some of the best fettuccine I've ever had if it wasn't so thick and buttery. I could hardly take more than 5 bites without feeling like I was eating a stick of butter.

The food is incredibly rich and the water/tea tasted very dirty. I'm really sick to my stomach today because of my dinner there last night, and so is my boyfriend. I really hope that we did not get food poisoning, but I will probably come here again and order something different.

PS- This place has absolutely no romantic atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice date place, don't go here. We went for Valentine's Day and got dressed up, and couples were there in sweatshirts and jeans.

    1.  Sauce
    2.  Chicken Parm

Siciliano's gets an A for both of these.  No cheap funky Chef Boyardee italian here, folks.

My husband and I decided to try Siciliano's thanks to a http://Restaurant.com certificate we had purchased. Overall it was a good experience but I can't say I was blown away by the food (with the exception of dessert!). Being from Upstate New York, I've had a hard time finding an italian restaurant down here that compares to my favorites back home but Siciliano's certainly puts in a good effort and I'm glad we gave it a try. It's a solid choice for italian food and easily a giant step above Olive Garden, Buca, etc.

    Ambiance:
The restaurant is huge - alot larger than we expected! The dining room itself is very open with large booths running along the one wall and several tables generously spaced throughout the room. The ceiling is very high which provides for a slightly less intimate dining experience, but the high-backed booths helped counter that effect. Décor is minimal but nice. There is also a bar area with a few tv's and several private dining rooms. You can definitely feel comfortable coming here in jeans or business casual attire.

    Service:
The service was casual and friendly. I would say that it fit this restaurant quite well and we felt more like family than just another customer. We also had the pleasure of meeting Fran (one of the owners) who was walking around checking in on guests. It was so nice to be able to chat with her for a few minutes and learn about the history of the restaurant and their family. It's obviously they care a great deal about what they do and really value their guests.

    Food:
After ordering our drinks we were treated to a plate of the garlic knots I had read so much about and I was not disappointed! They were hot and fresh and slightly addictive. They are very heavy on the garlic, so if you're not a garlic fan - beware! The menu is fairly sized and contains all of the "expected" italian dishes as well as a few unexpected items. After much deliberation I decided to go with the chicken cacciatori and my husband ordered the chicken rollatini. We started out with a cup of minestrone soup (included with the entrée) which was the only disappointing part of the meal. The broth was very thin and the soup didn't have a lot of flavor. It certainly wasn't inedible but I didn't feel the need to eat much of it. Our salads came next (included as well) and were simple but good. The house italian dressing was amazing and flavorful. I highly recommend getting it on the side as I can see how it could make for a very soggy salad after a few minutes!

Our entrees came out and were both sizable portions - more than enough for two meals. My chicken cacciatori was good, though not what I was expecting. The menu listed that it was served with a "tomato wine sauce" so I was expecting something a little on the thinner side but instead received something more comparable to a marinara-type sauce. The sauce itself was ok and almost had a hint of smokiness to it, but it tended to overpower the large pieces of vegetables in the dish. They absolutely did not skimp on the vegetables or chicken in this dish as many places tend to do. The chicken rollatini was good as well and included a very large portion of chicken as well as a fair number of decently sized shrimp. The cream sauce was very good though not "light" in any means. My husband seemed to enjoy it and even had a bit left to take home.

We decided to try a slice of their Italian Cream Cake for dessert and it was honestly the highlight of the meal. Fran had informed us that her daughter-in-law makes the cake fresh everyday (all but their tiramisu are made in house) and you could tell. The cake was light and moist and the perfect way to end the evening. Definitely be sure to save room or at least take a slice home with you!

    Prices:
Prices were very reasonable with entrees ranging from 9.99 for simple pasta entrees to 18.99 for more elaborate dishes. They also offer pizzas and calzones that are very reasonably priced.

Was it the best italian I've had? No, but it wasn't bad by any means and we certainly enjoyed our dining experience. We'll definitely return to try some of the other dishes and for some more garlic rolls and cake!

A really good choice for Italian food if you find yourself in this part of the Dallas suburbs.

    I "heart" the Minnestrone soup...

Word of the day: CALORIES. Say it with me- CALORIES. Why is this the word of the day? Because Siciliano's has them a'plenty and they are delicious.
D and I had a $25 off $35 coupon from http://restaurant.com for here and decided we wanted to splurge calorie-wise on lunch. D grew up in Garland so they never went to Olive Garden growing up. Every Friday night, first date, and special occasion in their family meant a trip to Siciliano's Taste of Italy. D is a seasoned Taste of Italy pro.
They brought to our table the most GD amazing garlic rolls I've ever had. Small twisted knots of dough glistening with garlic butter and dusted with parmesan cheese, I had two in the time it took D to eat six. Our salads came out and our waitress informed all dressings are housemade. I had to try the housemade ranch and the house vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was the perfect blend of spices and oil. I devoured my salad. D had the humongous calzone and I had their spaghetti with mushrooms. Their sauce is obviously homemade and a little sweet. D's calzone was tangy with ricotta and very delicious. We had to use our $35 limit so we also had a fried appetizer sampler that I was not a huge fan of. I could appreciate that they hand bread and fry everything, though. We also got a cannoli to go. Also, a homemade shell with a delicious sweetened ricotta mix in the middle. All of this for $15 with a coupon. We tipped generously to great service, of course. Olive Garden and even Carino's can bite it. Homemade and amazing, Taste of Italy has been around for decades and for a good reason, they totally rock!

This is by far our favorite Italian food restaurant. Just love it. I will get an entree and my son will eat the soup, Minestrone of all things and that is not his "routine".  And of course the rolls are to die for. The pizza is fantastic and their red sauce is like no other.  We have alot of fun there and it's always a great visit.

One of my absolute favorite italian restaurants and one of the best finds in Garland!! I have been a customer for years and simply cannot get enough of their delicious rolls. The atmosphere is a classic italian family feel with a nice splash of elegant romance.

i stopped by after work, after remembering i had bookmarked this place on yelp.

people were raving about the garlic rolls so i decided, why not try.  i was craving good comfort food after a 9-hr shift, so i decided to order the pasta plate (minus the lasagna, add in more manicotti, as i am NOT a beef eater)

i asked the bartender about the garlic rolls and she gave me some to eat.  i fell in love and could not WAIT until i got home to eat everything i had ordered.  when i got home...i opened up the bags to find that they had given me 7 rolls.  i was soo happy!

everything was pretty decent, but the rolls were SUPERB! i'm going to take my family there soon!

I read many reviews on-line and had a recommendation from an acquaintance to try this restaurant, so last night my boyfriend, Rob, and I decided to try it out. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. It's HUGE and looks like it was once a warehouse or a large office space. But it is decorated very nicely and is very open and not cramped. We decided to order an appetizer - fried calamari. Very "junior varsity". It was heavily breaded, long strips of calamari. Not the usual rings and tentacles. Tasted like it was pre-frozen. I did like the marinara sauce they served with it. Next came the soup that was complimentary when ordering an entree. It was like a shoddy version of Campbell's vegetable soup with shell pasta out of a can. Not good and would not recommend ordering it. Rob didn't even eat his. Oh - I did forget to mention that they bring a generous amount of garlic butter knot rolls to start out with. They are excellent. I really enjoyed them. A dinner salad is also included with an entree. It was pretty "junior varsity" as well. Wayyyy too much dressing. I would order the dressing on the side if you choose to eat here. The croutons were good and possibly homemade. Finally our entrees arrived at the table. I had eggplant parm with fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo was excellent. Very creamy and not too cheesy tasting. Noodles were cooked well. Eggplant parm was also good - not the best I've ever had, but I did like it. The marinara sauce was tasty. Rob had a seafood linguine with marinara. He didn't like it. He said it was bland and lacked spices and flavor. Although he did say the shrimp were cooked well and weren't overdone. Needless to say we didn't stick around for dessert. The place is pricey, so don't go in there thinking you're going to get a bargain. The seafood linguine was $17.99 and the eggplant parm with Alfredo was $15.99.

In my humble opinion, this restaurant is below average. Not horrible, but not great. For the same money, you could eat at Olive Garden and have a better, albeit ordinary, experience.

So I like this place because I can have Extra on TV with Mario Lopez and his killer abs, and in the same line of sight see Siciliano's. It's right on the other side of my gate in Garland here nestled in suburbia. This is good food and I'm not just saying that because there are Mob ties. Seriously. All I know is that I work with someone, who knew someone from the old country who never had to pay there. Capice? Anyways, great yummy buttery parmesaney rolls. It's like an old Italian Mama's take on Crazy Bread from Little Caesar's. The pizza is large enough to satisfy Rosie O'Donell and tasty enough to pass Junior Sorano's test. The price can add up quickly, and there is a tinge of cigarette smoke in the air from the bar area, but overall a consistent Italian offering. Chris Columbus discovered America in 1492, why not return the favor?

Mixed review on this place. I'm a huge NY pizza fan. Siciliano's has very thin crust, home made sauce... pizza with potential. The problem is inspiration and attitude. I eat there the other day to try their pie again. The ingrediants were great, but the pizza was scorched burnt. By this, I mean the cheese was so brown/black that it was actually crispy (cheese crispier than the crust! lol). The ironic part is, I specificall requested "lightly cooked" in fear of this happening. I complained and the waiter waid he can re-do it, but it would be at the back of the queue and take abotu 25 minutes since it was busy (lunch time). Then offered to discount the current burnt pizza instead, which for the sake of time, I accepted. At the end of the meal, the owner visited our tale. I thought that was a nice jesture. She asked how the food was, and I mentioned the pizza. She said next time, ask them to remake it. I explained that the waiter said it would have taken 25 minutes, and she replied, no, only 10 minutes because they would put it at the front of the queue. A little later, I got the check. No discount on the pizza. I asked the waiter, and he said the manager said no on the discount. THis whole experience, fromt he missinformed waiter that could not execute on what he promised, nor knew the re-cook process, to the bad management, to the cook who ignored my "lightly cooked" request and totally scorched the pizza... I was with 2 business people, and didn't want to make more of a scene than I already did, so did not pursue it. As I was walking out, the waiter got me and appologized for everything, and gave me a slice of cheese cake to go, and said his management didn't know he did that and he would probablky get in trouble, but he felt bad so wanted to do something. The bottom line is I've never seen such cheap, non-focused on customer service, management at any restaurant I can recall. Sometimes, a busy place can mess up food (like burn pizza), but to be that unwilling to make it right or honor what the waiter offered? Really pisses me off in principle... Not sure I want to go back to see if the burnt pizza was a one time mistake, or a regular thing...

I have been eating at Sicialiano's since they were at their old location on Walnut.  The restaurant was always packed!  The hot buttery garlic rolls are the best I have had at any Italian restaurant.  The new restaurant is nice and can host large groups.  The service is good while the food has always been flavorful.  I agree that the salad is drenched with too much dressing - so I always order the dressing on the side.

This place brings back so many good memories. The ambiance is cozy and romantic in the evenings and bright and open during the afternoon. I've brought dates here, set up girly lunches here, celebrated birthdays and even ate here for some of my formal events.

They always provide more than enough food for you here and start you off with these amazing garlic butter rolls. mmm. I took a basket full to go (don't judge me it was just one of those days!) and my paper bag was soaked with the buttery goodness of what was inside. Their pastas are fabulous here, their soups are delish, their cal zones are alright and their pizza is decent. I always beat myself up because I never remember the name of my favorite dish and I have to describe it to the waitress who some how understands me and brings it out right every time.  They have pretty affordable lunch specials but I would come in the evenings for the atmosphere here. The place is just really alive. Also, Siciliano's has a fairly large party room that would be perfect for a large event if anyone is looking for a venue. Check out their dessert specials that they have too. I usually don't have room but ordered a slice of their peanut butter cheesecake to go while having a long lunch with some friends. It was a gigantic slice and I couldn't help but take a nibble here and there mmm mmm mmm it was absolutely heavenly but I haven't wouldn't expect anything less from this place.

I used to go here pretty regularly with friends and family back when I was in high school; I went to Garland HS so it was always a great place to run into just about everyone you knew. I haven't been in a few years but all these reviews are making my mouth water again for those delicious rolls!!!! Ahhh they are so good and taste so wonderful with the soup. I'm definitely going to drag someone here next chance I get!! I love this place. Also, the location is NOT that shady, at ALL. Sorry you can't handle Garland?

If you want to understand the meaning of abbondanza (Italian for abundance) then I recommend Sicilianos.  From the moment that you walk through the pillars outside to the Tuscan inspired, spacious dining room inside, you are welcome.
Upon entering, we were promptly greeted and escorted to a large booth, where we were brought a basket of warm and well seasoned garlic knots.  Traditionally a plate of olive oil is served as a dipping sauce for the bread but we had to ask for one.
My husband ordered the Fettucine Alfredo, his favorite, the sauce was fresh and creamy.  I chose the lasgana, ziti, manicotti combo  and although it was quite good, but the 3 servings were lumped together on one plate and it was hard to distinguish the different pastas.  Both dishes had little more sauce then was to our liking, less would have been better.
For dessert we tried the cannoli and the hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream.  Each one was 5 star, especially the cannoli since it is a challenge to find one made properly outside New York or Chicago.   Whether it's a romantic dinner for two or a casual meal with family, Sicilianos fits the bill.  Kids under 10 eat free on Mondays.
