So I've been here about 20 times now and everything is always on point.
For some reason my tolerance to the heat in the food has grown and I often will ask for the Pad Thai spicy hot or extra spicy hot. I'm all about hot food and gettin it real hot is the way to go. They have these cards as well that they stamp everytime you get an entree. For every entree you order, they will add another stamp and when you get 12 it's free lunch time. Boo Ya.

Wow this food is good! I came here for lunch and got the pad Thai chicken special for 9.95. I was… Read more »
This is now my favorite Thai restaurant. Before, it was Krung Thai in San Jose, but that place has such bad serice and the food isn't as good as it used to be. Siam Thai is so much better in every way. It's not crowded, the food is delicious, and the servers are friendly and attentive. The location is better too because it's in quiet little Morgan Hill, and not near the craziness of Valley Fair. Another cool thing about Siam Thai is the Frequent Diners Card where you get one free main dish after you buy 12. I know a lot of people are sick of Krung Thai, so if you're one of them you should come here! I think you'll like it.
The last time I was here, I had the pad thai, vegetarian yellow curry, and chicken satay. Everything was great except for the curry. Right after I had a few bites of it, I felt sick (like I was going to throw up or something). I know it was the curry and not me because my boyfriend felf the same way after eating it too. If it wasn't for the curry, I would've given this restaurant 5 stars. Anyway, I love this place and I am so happy I found a replacement Thai restaurant!
This is the second time I've been to Siam Thai and both times were very enjoyable.
Small but decent wine selection.
Beer selection is lacking (only the Poppy Jasper for decent beer), but that is OK as one would not expect a Thai restaurant to have a stellar beer selection.
Service is fast and friendly. Smiles all around and when I went into the back several other employees asked me how my meal was. I always feel like I am eating dinner at their family's house when I am there.
I have had the Duck Curry, Pad Thai and the Panang Sea Bass. All were prepared with quality fresh ingredients. Portion sizes are not tiny, but I would prefer a bit more I guess. Duck with Red Curry was excellent - well cooked, tender and mild on the spice. Pad Thai was among the best I've had (and this is a staple entree at a Thai restaurant for me) - again, mild on the spice. Panang Sea Bass was good - a bit heavy on the coconut and not enough curry and spice, but the seabass was full of flavor and grilled to perfection with a nice crispy outer layer. Please note that I asked for all entrees to be spicy when they asked, so I expected to at least break a sweat.
Highly recommend this mom and pop type Thai restaurant to anyone in the South Bay Area as it is the best.
Ok, so I read a lot of great Review of this place on Yelp and I have lived in Morgan Hill for almost 10 years and hoped to find a good Thai place without having to drive to SJ. My first impression when I saw the place was that it was a cute restuarant located in downtown MH. When I walked into the restaurant, its smelled like the bathroom throughout the restuarant (it is a small restaurant). Way to loose my appetite. The papaya salad was mediocre at best, but the curry and pad thai was good. I just couldn't get over the smell of the bathroom. The price of the food are normal thai food prices. Needless to say, the drive to Krung thai in SJ is still worth it, and I'll settle for this place only if I am REALLY craving thai food, and I'll take it to-go next time.
I love the rice noodles here! And the spicy salmon! Very yummy! Great family environment!
Excellent, excellent food with wonderful service. I wanted to try everything. I would only recommend that if you love spicy hot food, beware that they are not kidding when they say hot. If you order any of the soups, you'd be better off going for medium. I actually heard people at two other tables say the same thing. I went for the hot tum yum vegetarian soup and it was delicious. The waitress asked me if I was sure if I wanted it hot, and I said yes, of course. I should have known by the look I got that I was making a mistake. Even the people that think nothing is too hot for them will be taken down by this version of "hot."
My dad had the combination, pad Thai, and spring rolls. All perfect and very tasty, according to him. He doesn't like many places, but he loves this one.
Everytime I have eaten hear it has been very consistant. I wish I could try the food spicier, but my honey has a low tolerance. I love the fried rice, some of the best I have ever had and the cashew chicken is very flavorful. Service is alway very good. If you like Thai this place is great.
This place is go good that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Try what a combination, it will change your life.
the curry is really good---i had the vegetarian green curry and my bf had the duck red curry. mine was pretty good.
funny side note, i'm a fan of spicy food...so, stupidly, i ordered the curry not hot..but "thai hot". and it was crazy, crazy spicy! chillies galore i tell you. aside from that learning experience, it was delicious. i still ate it even though it was painful :)
This place is so unique and delicious! I love the little house that its located in. The food is always good, the service is friendly and fast.
Love it. Perfect every time.

First up I don't believe that this place has ties with House of Siam in downtown san jose (think they sold the business a year or two ago) anymore and thats a good thing coz this place is 5x better then House of siam in san jose and better then any thai place I've been to in sunnyvale (love Barn thai in sunnyvale, but this place still takes the cake).
Food is amazing! Portion sizes are good (check out the pics i uploaded). For around $8-9 you get a curry that will feed at least two. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.

Very good food, but a few disappointments: 1) the waitress was a sourpuss. Perhaps because it was a Sunday, and she didn't want to be there. She didn't crack a smile, and had no facial expression at all. I was afraid to ask too many questions because I didn't know if she'd get ticked off. 2) they don't offer a lunch menu - something more abbreviated so you don't have to order a full blown meal for lunch. 3) the Thai iced coffee was too, too sweet. Aside from that the food is very good. 4) Small to average size serving; I like to get my money's worth when I eat out.
I always judge a place on their pad thai. Siam Thai's seafood pad thai has the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and sour (tamarind) flavors; but the calamari was chewy. [My friend's mother owns several Thai restaurants, and I was told that pad thai is not an easy dish to master.] Their summer (fresh) rolls were executed well. I was surprised to find them stuffed with lettuce, carrots, and tofu. The menu doesn't say they're vegetarian - so I was expecting shrimp with it. I guess I'm accustomed to my neighborhood restaurant which always serves shrimp. I got the impression the restaurant wanted to take the budget route, and served tofu instead.
Small, intimate restaurant with about 9-12 tables in a converted house. Hope the waitress (hapa) takes some happy pills the next time I'm in the hood. She was like a friggin' Stepford Waitress.

this place is absolutely delicious! i went with several other people, none of us had had Thai food more than once or twice and weren't sure what to oder. the chef came out from the kitchen and made some suggestions, every single one was DELICIOUS! not only is this the best Thai i've had (and i've had more Than food since eating here), it was one of the best meals i've ever had at any restaurant of any kind. i will definitely be back!
A jewel in Morgan Hill. The restaurant is built inside an old house which adds to a unique atmosphere. You feel like you are dining in an old family's house in the country somewhere. Very friendly people. The manager is easy to get excited when he sees you walk in the door and when you show him your frequency card. You get a free dish after you order 10.
Food is very good and tastes authentic. I've tried just about everything but each time I always order their:
- Garlic prawns
- Green Curry
Also good for lunches. During warm, sunny days we enjoy eating our meals in their backyard.
This place is extraordinary. The food, service, and decor is great. Never had a bad experience here and we make sure this is a regular visit. They'll adjust the spice for you, the attention to detail in the food and service is awesome - one of the few restaurants in Da Hill that doesn't seem to struggle with service issues (maybe because they are all family?).
Highly recommend!

Very Impressed! Another great spot to eat in good ole' Morgan Hill! :) I had a great vibe as to how the rest of our visit would be, immediately after walking through the doors and just "seeing" how nice the decor was inside.
My "vibe" was right :) The food was really good. I had the Tom Ka Seafood Soup, and ordered a large to make sure I had extra to take home :) They asked how spicy I wanted it (not spicy at all) - and it was made just right.
I went with a couple of ladies from our Morgan Hill Walking group, and we were all very happy with our meals. My eleven year old son had the spring rolls and rice, and loved his meal also.
They have an extensive list of food items on their menu (111 to be exact) -- so it was really hard to narrow down what I wanted... everything sounded so good!
My left-overs today, were super good, even re-heated! :)

Delicious food and a quaint but beautiful atmosphere. Every dish is excellent and nicely presented. I always have a good time when I go here, and the service is always good. They also have another location in downtown SJ that is just as good. I highly recommend this one!
I just moved to Morgan Hill 2 weeks ago and I've been in this thai restaurant 8 times already. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I love their seafood dishes and the salad with peanut sauce which they only serve during lunch time.
I try different dish every time and I've never been disappointed.
We have recently moved to Morgan Hill and this was our first visit to this restaurant. I have eaten a lot of Thai Cuisine on the East coast, but this one beats them all. Food was Great, served in a timely manner and more so the owner and his wife were personally making sure all the customers were taken care of.
The personal care and attention to every detail is what makes this restaurant the Best of the Best of Thai restaurants. Fortunately I live in Morgan Hill, but I would not mind driving even 25 to 30 miles to eat here.
Oh my goodness, so delicious! Best Thai ever, plus they stamp your frequent diner card every time you go which adds up to a free meal! Awesome Thai iced tea and the lunch specials are unbeatable!
This place is GREAT! The service and the food are awesome. This is one of those small places that has plenty of character and fits into the community nicely.
Who knew that there would be Thai food in Morgan Hill. The food is wonderful. The frequent buyer card is great and the owners are very nice.
I can't believe we haven't been here before! Very tasty and I liked that we could specify how "hot" we wanted our food. The service was very good and the food arrived at our table fresh and hot. We'll definitely be back!
This is a small place and gets pretty busy at dinner time, so we usually order to go. We like the yellow curry with chicken, hot. Sometimes it is hard to eat because it is soo damn hot...but it's so good you will crave more the next day. The prices are a little high so we are only giving it 4 out of 5 stars. They do have a frequent buyer card, where the 13th entree is free.
i get cravings for this place!!
MENU: soooo delicious. i always get the garlic calamari, fresh rolls, pad thai and the stuffed chicken.
PRICE: it's worth every penny.
SERVICE: excellent. the servers are very nice and helpful. they are very friendly and always smiling. =)
FUTURE VISITS: of course. i'm actually craving for their garlic calamari right now!! =)
The food and service here is great - my fav is the Prawns in peanut sauce - Large Prawns served over spinach. If they ask you how hot you want your seasoning, make it far lower than you would anywhere else. I have had meals here that are difficult to eat because they are so hot - and I like it hot.... The wine list is short but you can't go wrong with any wine from Leal.
I love this place! Their food is just phenomenal -- it's how I remember it when I visited Thailand! And, yes, the folks running it are so friendly. Their menu tells the tale of their family-run restaurant...!
Absolutely everything I've had from their menu has been delicious every single time we've eaten here.
Heartily recommended.
I haven't been to Thailand, but I imagine I could find the variety of dishes and friendly staff at a restaurant there.
They often warn that the food is hot even when you ask for "medium". I don't find it too hot for my taste, but others may.
In short, the dishes I've tried are flavorful and not oily.
It's been a while since I've been here. I hope they are still doing OK.
A very nice place and the people who run it are sweet people.
I love Thai cuisine and I wish I could know more about ingredients so I could try more items without trepidation.
All the basics here are wonderful: Pad Thai noodles, Hot-pot seafood soup, coconut milk curries, basil and mint and Kaffir lime leaf spices.
By the way, if you ASK for something to be hot, expect to go blind for upwards of an hour. Remember, MEDIUM hot is BLISTERING and mild is merely debilitating.
Have the Thai coffee. You'll sit up all night long working crossword puzzles.

Easily my favorite food in Morgan Hill and the service is unbeatable. The food is VERY good. My favorites:
Angry beef, Basil chicken
However, can't go wrong here.
An extremely good restaurant, family owned and operated by a very friendly Thai husband and wife (usually the waiter/waitress). Spices range from mild to hot, then they have Thai hot. I've generally stuck with mild or medium, as I'm not too spicy of a person. They have a wide variety of dishes, ranging from vegetarian, beef, chicken, duck, and others, as you would expect. They received a 'best of' award a few years ago, so they have a reputation based on that as well.
The only downside is that I once (out of about 20 visits) had a long black curly hair inside the middle of the ball of rice on my plate.
Recommended dish: Yellow curry
