Is this true?i had rock lobster or so I thought... it was a rock tail.

      A:

If they call it Rock Lobster, it probably is one of many warm water species, also called Spiny. There are about 60 different variants that are called Rock and Spiny. Warm water lobsters have no edible claw meat as do the cold water ones.

Small, unassuming spot in the Ybor district. I had a craving for fried shrimp and I found a spot that I would definitely hit up again.

Very friendly and quick service as soon as I walked in. One server was working that spot and she was doing extremely well.

Ordered the fried fish and shrimp platter with fries and hush puppies. Price was right, portion was great and the food was piping hot and fresh.

Definitely worth the trip. Again, unassuming spot that you may pass by, but don't. Try this spot for some great seafood and quick service.

The food and service were great The price of our meal was very reasonable. The only problem I have with the restaurant is there is no free parking anywhere around. Last 4 times we have been there no problems, but tonight got a $45 parking ticket in a spot that's always been free. My mistake for misreading the sign, but this will cause me to take my money and business elsewhere.

I came for a Shrimp & Co. Po'boy, but decided on looking at the menu to get a lobster version for three extra bucks. (See photo.)

It was delicious! Toasted authentic French roll with a little mayo. Fresh Romaine, diced tomatoes, perfectly crispy-battered fried pieces of lobster, so-called maketnaisse (like a traditional remoulade... it just needs some added relish or maybe a bit of olive tapanade to be even more special).

The first bite was cruchy-tasty-warm-piquant. The second bite was...mostly lettuce. The lobster was mostly on top, so I opened it up and mixed it in better. I also added more maketnaisse. Yum, wow!

Then I tried dripping on some Crystal Hot Sauce. Nice tang!

The fries were battered and nicely warm and crispy. The Cole slaw had tiny prawns in it and a little added cajun spice to give it a mouth-watering kick.

The Lobster Po'Boy was so amazing that I had to also order a Shrimp one. It was absolutely perfect New Orleans traditional style, with crunch-juicy large shrimp, cooked exactly right. (I took 2/3 of it home for a snack.)

The Red Sangria was very nice, with lots of berries thrown in. I'd like to order a pitcher of it!

According to the manager, Cami, this pace has been open for 13 years (... he's run it for five). I can see why it's survived! (The waiter, Marco, was also very friendly and enthusiastic about the food.)

I *will* be back the next time I can come to Tampa/St. Pete!

The vibe and decor of the Shrimp & Co needs a new and fresh look that build confidence with food quality. We were the only customers in the restaurant at 8:00 pm on a Friday.

I got a lobster po boy with sweet potato fries and my friend got a shrimp po boy with potato. Really good stuff. I wanted the crab legs but the market price of 64 was a little too rich for my blood. Service was pretty up until the end where the server handed us the check before we finished eating (we had eaten like 2/3 food) so not sure if they wanted us out, but I guess cause alot of people coming in. Will come back soon

Just gonna start by saying that we ordered the boil over the for and then we go to pick it up and they don't even give it to us and it's not even on the receipt.

When we did get the order, it was packed nicely. The potato was cut up which was nice although I wish it said that it was whole shrimp. The crab legs were nice and hot so they were easier to crack. I really wish it would have said that the shrimp were whole bc I would've liked to know ahead of time. With whole shrimp not only do ya have to remove the head, but the poop veins too. That also left broken pieces of the feet and antenna within the sauce. Gonna take off another star, bc also there was NO sauce like barely. So everything was dry.

The cheese bites were good and the hush puppies and fish bites, but the fries were not. We called back about the missing order and they were very kind and apologetic about it, alas I still have to take a star off.

With a long wait at the Columbia nixing that option, we went across the street to the Shrimp & Co. Restaurant. I had a fried shrimp and grouper basket while my wife went for the soft shell crab sandwich. Everything was surprisingly good at this little hole-in-the-wall.

The service was good. The prices were fine.

Like the Terminator, I'll be back.

Ran into the spot after a pretty lively round of golf but I got to say I've never had shrimp mofongo but this was one of my favorite dishes out of everything we tried that afternoon. I'd have to say that this was some of the favorites you can get at any Spanish restaurant / seafood joint just done a cut above the rest with the flavor and the crispiness and pop of everything that was plated. Your best bet is to order an entree or two and then pile on with the appetizers as they do give you quite a bit of grub to get through and it's very reasonable on the wallet as well.

Food was delicious!! The fries were super crispy! Husband and I could tell they had just fried the shrimp and it was super good. Shrimp weren't greasy at all. WHEN PARKING- try to park in a parallel spot outside the restaurant with the little sign. If you park in the big lot, you'll end up having to pay $15 but if you park in the parallel spot and upload that zone # into PayMobile then you can choose your duration of time and get a cheaper parking price! Recommend this place 100% :)

I'll be honest, our visit didn't start off on the right foot so we had low expectations. My friend and I were going to go tot he Columbia but it was packed so we went across the street. It looked cute on the inside, but when we went to order, they were out of the beer I wanted, then they were out of a menu item my friend was going to order.

I ended up getting a seafood empanada and it was delicious!

My friend also liked her poboy.

I have a couple other places in Ybor that are on my favorites list, but this place ended up being better than expected and I certainly would not disagree with going to it again in the future.
