The tour was good, and our guide even better.

A tall windowed touring van, seating 12-14, picks you up at your hotel, and they were right on time. Step into the bus with a warm greeting, by the name you reserved under, and you dont pay until the end of the tour. Classy.

In addition to the downtown sights, driver escorted us through a bunch of neighborhoods and to quirky little things we'd never get around to on bus or foot. Queen Anne, Skid Row, the ID, Fremont, The Fisherman's Memorial near Ballard. The highlight, to me, was the Chittenden Locks, where we got out of the van for a good 20-30 minutes and 'immersed' ourselves, as it were.

It's a fascinating place and our guide was a wealth of information (as she was throughout the day). I learned more with her than I did the following day, actually sailing thru the locks with Argosy tour boat professionals.

The last attraction is Pike Market (which we had previously toured) and since we were late for a Mariners game and the last folks in the van, I asked if she couldnt cut that part out and whisk us back to our hotel. She not only did that, but sat in some ballgame traffic and drove us all the way down to Safeco!!  Considering this was at the conclusion of a three hr tour ( a one woman show, basically) and not specifically requested, her initiative was extraordinary...and greatly appreciated.

Our tour guide was very informative, she gave us detailed information about the history of the city, as well as stories about Bill Gates and his family. But since we were on the 2:50pm tour(last tour of the day), she seemed a bit exhausted from doing the previous tour and also from the bad traffic.

We took 4 brief stops(approximately 10 min each), first was at the neighborhood of Queen Anne, over looking the entire city, second was a bathroom stop, close to the Ballard Locks, we couldn't waste time on going to the bathroom, so ended up ordering a salmon taco and mixed chowder(New England and Manhattan Chowder) instead, they were surprisingly good! Third stop was at the Ballard Locks, and the last stop was  the Sleepless in Seattle floating home, she even pointed out that the home is currently going on sale!

Over all it was a good tour, but wished we had more stops, and our tour guide can be more entertaining and humorous in telling history about Seattle, plus there wasn't a Mystery Treats in our tour like how they've promised on their website. But she did recommend and drop us off at this really good seafood restaurant called Louille right by the Waterfront.

Finally, here's a $5 off coupon for those of you who are interested in joining the tour:

A good tour however focused on the guides favorites.  The tour guide was a bit arrogant and rude with some of the others on the bus (Tavre?) but informative.  Got to see some great things but irritated by the guide.  Bus tours are a definite way to go for tourists that dont know how and where to go.

We took a Show Me Seattle city tour during a recent visit.  It was a great overview to the city and included things that we wouldn't have seen ourselves since we were getting around on the city bus and pretty much stayed in Downtown most of our visit.    It hit all the major sites -- we really enjoyed the views from Queen Anne and the Ballard Locks as well an insight into what life in Seattle is like.  Our tour guide Niki was great and even brought our umbrella back to our hotel the next day after we left it on the bus.  Highly recommended!

My husband and I just got back from our Anniversary Trip to Seattle. We like to take trips to cities that we have never been to before and while we are there we will take a tour of the city- usually with a tour company. By recommendation of our hotel concierge we took the tour by "SHOW ME SEATTLE TOURS". It was excellent. It takes about 3 -4 hrs and is worth every minute. You will see downtown Seattle, Pikes Place Market, Pioneer Square, Quest & Safeco field, China Town, City Ballard Locks, the Sleepless in Seattle floating home, Queen Ann Hill (with views of Seattle) and you drive though some really beautiful neighborhoods. The greatest part is the tour guide is very knowledgeable. You learn a lot about Seattle and you get to see all of it in just a few short hours. You also stop at most places and get a few minutes to walk around and take pictures. I would take this tour instead of paying to go up the Space Needle- as the view from Queen Ann Hill is priceless with a beautiful backdrop of the Pudget Sound and downtown. The cost is $40.00 per Adult and $25.00 for kids 3-12.
