This store is ever evolving.
I almost hate going in because I know there is going to be something new I don't need but just HAVE TO have sitting on display calling out to me BUY ME DAMMIT!
Brad Cook does an amazing job of finding rare mid-century pieces and artistic do-dads. I just wish I had a bigger apartment.
If you are in the area, save your Pinkberry money and instead buy something lasting at SHOW.

if only they were more affordable... i would buy every piece of jewelry in this store. i'm not a huge accessories person, but i never want to wear anything that someone else may have. everything is chic, sophisticated, understated but attention grabbing. i would deck myself (and my home) with their wares if i could only afford it all!
Eccentric oddities. Yaay!
So they have a lot of things with humor, irony and whimsy. That's hard to do with certain things.
Like a lamp...which is a dead bird, or an antler, or a pet.
A table that looks like a clump of mushrooms.
A mirror...which in (very) fine print tells you how beautiful you are. A literal "mirror mirror on the wall..."
It's full of little things I've come across on the net and various catalogs, and MOMA of different cities.
The prices in here are "pricey" according to other people, but I must remind us all that it costs some money to get really good, rare things. Sure it costs a few bucks less elsewhere, but hey, think of the gas money or shipping and handling to get it there. I know I wouldn't blink at paying an extra $20 if I knew the nearest one involved a drive to San Francisco.
And honestly, sometimes, you just simply have to pay for personality...especially if yours is borrowed.
Exquisite, eccentric, non-mass produced items by artists and designers. They do have a few reasonable ($20-40) items in addition to the costlier stuff, which is not priced too badly priced considering the small-batch kinda pieces they have. Their jewelry is delightful too. I would encourage the owners to get out ahead in terms of fresh design-- I think that silhouette motif stuff/ ironic ceramics are going to their grave pretty soon-- but overall the collection is still looking firm and luscious.

Two seconds in I told my boyfriend I loved this place so much I wanted to have sex with it. Don't be alarmed, it's just that home decor turns me into a slightly scary, fiendish woman who can't get enough.
The stuff in here is pricey, and their prices are sometimes above the list price-the clear Fantome clock I've had my eye on for a year was $170, when I've seen it at $150 elsewhere. But this is the kind of store that simply inspires. Inspires me to make more money so I can actually purchase the amazing items they carry, inspires me to fill my house with beautiful objects that make me smile when I come home, inspires me to think consciously about even mundane objects and what humor or beauty can be derived from them with a little creative thought....And inspires me to want to hump a store, apparently.

Oooohhh!
Ahhhhhh!
OOOOOooooohhhh!
This type of a reaction from me (someone who has a ridiculous amount of home catalogs committed to memory and scans design blogs like a person with a diagnosed case of OCD and let's not even count the number of subscriptions to shelter magazings...) is not common.
Everything in here is fantastic. It may be a bit pricey but oooh soooo worth it!

BEST GIFT STORE. Ever.
Actually, to be more specific, a tiny room filled with various interesting bits of furniture, dishware, art, rugs, pillows, stationary, ceramics, teacups and whatever.
A tiny store that a place like Urban Outfitters strives to be, with much better quality and no stupid ironic "ur bf thinks im hot" t-shirts.
Basically, a room full of everything that I've always wanted in my hipster apartment, but can't have because I can barely afford to eat on my current salary. *emo sigh*
But if you're looking for a fun and unique birthday gift (and have a wallet full of cash), definitely stop by Show to take a look around!
