I went to SHOW about a month ago, and I really enjoyed Cynthia von Buhler's work along with the other contemporary artists. The gallery is small but really packed in a lot of awesome mixed media pieces!
Side notes:
As my first trip to Staten Island, it couldn't have been better- the FREE ferry ride was refreshing and offered great views from the water of Mainhattan and the statue. Outside SHOW gallery, a live band was rockin' and I was standing next to a dedicated smoker- this guy was literally smoking a cigarette out of his tracheotomy hole in his neck! Yes for real..... Anyways I rounded trip out with a stop at Beso, a great Tapas restaurant just down the street from SHOW. The tapas (go for the goat cheese) were excellent and the pitcher of pomegranate sangria was delicious and a nice complement to the food coma!
There, I just gave you a perfect itinerary for a date. Feel free to add or subtract the dedicated smoker depending on your date's personality...

well the sign is amazing- the opening night was filled with local celebs....
most importantly - the art is so good I could describe each piece in the exhibit- art that is beautifully conceived, and masterfully executed.

must see - great space.
the best thing to happen to St George
upcoming shows sound great.....you must get off the ferry and walk one block up- you wil see the gallery up the stairs to the right of borough hall.
