Finally got around to visiting this shop. As Thi said it is mom and pop in size. The guy there when we visited as of Japanese descent and spoke the language (unlike so many fake Japanese around Dallas these days). Lots of small items you would find in many little shops around Japan's train stations - interesting pens, pencils, paper pads and so forth (most oriented to young girls), a stack of Hello Kitty items, plus a few Japanese dishes/plates. There are also some household items from Japan (cleaners, herbals, utensils, etc). Plus an array of snacks that originated in Japan (gumi, Poki, etc). There are freezer and fridge items ranging from gyoza to Japanese cucumbers. There is also a range of Japanese videos and magazines (didn't notice any manga though). Prices are reasonable.
The place is very clean, the staff is friendly, and you will find some unusual items. I started to give it 4 stars but then couldn't think of what they would change to make it 5 stars and still maintain a "dollar star" pricing level. So 5 stars it is!

This is a small "mom and pop," Japanese store. It's not exactly a 99 cents store, but you pay a small price for some of the authentic Japanese items such as various Hello Kitty items, sweets, snacks, candy, magazines. But most importantly, in the back there is a fridge section where you can find meat cuts, eel, squid, and even some veggies. :)
Love this place! :)
