Went here to watch my sister's friend, Uncle Ben play slack key guitar... Small group of both locals and tourists, but what they lacked in numbers they made up w/ heart and craziness. Quite a few oddball characters and I smelled sitcom here. Small town local pupus were comp'd to us. Ironically it was one of the last performances at this local bar. It closed down about a week later. Sad...

Dive bar with a lot of heart. I was in Hilo for work and wandered to the only bar I knew of. Not expecting much from the outside, the inside looks the same. But it's not about the decor, but the people in it. There were a ton of very nice locals and business men in the bar. Karaoke was happening (for $1/ song) and the locals sang sappy love songs, until I took over and showed 'em how we do it in NY. Garlic Fries are delcious! Played some pool, danced a bit. Overall a great night!
The next night (Friday) around 11PM we went back in the rain and it was EMPTY. Not a person in sight. I guess this place is a hit or miss, but when it's a hit, you'll know. -

This place is a blight on the neighborhood. Filled with loud, stupid, incredibly rude people, you don't want to live near this place. If you do it's likely your car will be damaged, that you will be awoken frequently in the dead of night by fights and drunken shouting, will end up not wanting to be on the sidewalks when they're busy, and generally just hating life because you've made the sad mistake of staying nearby, for no matter how short of a time. It's absolutely assured that any time spent around this place will entice you to never visit the state again.

My girlfriend and I were staying at the Hilo Hawaiian hotel about a block away from shooters, and after being continually disappointed in the service at our hotel bar we decided to try shooters.
Shooters did not disappoint! The family run bar and grill was a great relief after the terrible service we received at other places in Hilo. The drinks were strong, cheap, and well made. The staff were friendly and fun to be around. I recommend Shooters to anyone who wants to have a good time in Hilo. -

Trash-tastic! This is the place to go when you and your pals don't want to remember how the night ends. This ain't no sugar-coated dive bar, that's all I'm saying.

The only Club in Hilo, at least for now until another one pops up and closes down. The best thing about this place is they make the drinks stiff. The club is pretty small, but it gets packed around 11PM. Parking is on the street, it's pretty dark walking back to the cars, bring a flashlight LOL. Lots of fights after the club, typical Hilo....alcohol+local boys with testosterone = fight. But it makes for great entertainment, as long as your not the one fighting.

the floor is sticky, cheap drinks... had to explain what a jagerbomb was.. crazy old ladies that think they still got it. it was wonderful.
