Paul did a great job for me in 2010, writing a resume that quickly landed me a job.
I was laid off from that job last month due to downsizing, and I contacted him again. He did an upgrade for a fraction of the price of a full resume. I hope that it will work this time as well... Job search is difficult.
Paul's most time-consuming task when writing my initial resume was going through my performance reviews. Yes, he went through all of my most recent performance review in connection with a promotion. That, combined with my own resume, his worksheet, and our meeting together, were data he pieced together to create my shimmering resume. It was very different from what I wrote myself; I would have never come up with anything even remotely resembling Paul's final product.
This year, Paul went an extra mile for me. Someone recommended that I change my resume to meet the requirements of start-ups, and I went through it to make major adjustments. My formatting did not work though, either because I am working in NeoOffice now and I basically do not know how to work in it, or because formatting is just not my forte at all. I struggled and struggled; exasperated, I sent the file to Paul asking for help. He corrected the formatting and even made small edits, which turned out to be helpful, all free of charge. Incidentally, some of his edits made me blush: even though I thought I knew how to use Standard Written English, it turned out that I still made mistakes of various sorts.
So yes, Paul is worth the money. -

If you're at all thinking of renewing your 'personal brand' for the job market, Shimmering Resumes is a great place to start. My job hunt was getting looong and it was time to kick it up a notch.
