I was surprised how good this place turned out. We required a wheelchair-accessible room and we got one, and the room was spacious and comfortable, with the necessary modifications to the bathroom (grab bars, walk-in shower, etc.) The floor can be slippery, so make use of the rubber bath mat, and if there is none, get one from the front desk. I was also surprised at what the room had - almost a mini-kitchen with a refrigerator that worked, a microwave and a sink right there. There was also another sink outside the bathroom and all the usual motel room things. Nice large screen TV too. The room was very clean and the whole hotel seemed clean too.
The only failure of the room was the mystifying air conditioner, which kept coming on repeatedly and making the room too cold. There was a remote control for it, which was apparently manufactured on the planet Xyzon and was incomprehensible. Much later we discovered instruction sheets for it in desk drawer, but by then it was too late. The maintenance man valiantly tried to help us with the situation, even turning off the air conditioner's compressor at the circuit breaker level, but it still kept coming back on every 5 minutes (but not as cold). All we wanted to do was turn it off completely, but there seems to be no way to do that. The staff tried their best and did everything they could do, but those appliances made on the planet Xyzon simply do not cooperate with human beings.
Other than the bizarre air conditioner we had no complaints about the room at all. And the walls seem solid, so you don't hear the people above you walking around or the people in the next room arguing. The hotel includes a pool and jacuzzi, open until 10 p.m, and a dry sauna and steam room which are open 24 hours. There is a small exercise room with a workout machine and treadmill. There is even a computer you can use to check your e-mail, for free, although you may have to wait to use it. One guy from Germany sat there for nearly 3 hours. Cell phone service is very spotty at this end of Oakhurst, so you will need to go up to the 4th floor to get cell phone service, and even then it's iffy.
The staff here were friendly and helpful, especially the maintenance guy and the evening front desk lady. There was a delay at checkout while the morning front desk lady talked and joked with the hotel's general manager. There is a generous breakfast bar with two hot waffle makers, you make your own waffle, and a variety of cereals, fresh fruit, breads and a toaster, yogurt, bagels, sweet rolls, coffee, tea and juices. Enough to fill you up for the morning. Someone made a comment in another review of this place that there are no tables to eat at. Actually there is a room with tables and a TV that is just around the corner from where you make the waffles. The coffee and tea are available 24 hours. There is no restaurant in the building, but there is one in front of it, which is apparently a separate business and closes at 8 p.m, but we did not eat there so I have no idea if it is good.
The location at the north end of Oakhurst puts this hotel 16 miles from the southern entrance gate to Yosemite National Park, so it takes only a 20-minute or so drive on winding mountain roads to get to the park entrance. From there it's another 45 minutes or so to Yosemite Valley itself. Overall I thought this was an excellent place to stay for a Yosemite trip, and much cheaper than staying at hotels inside the park.

Stayed here just before the 4th of July 2009. The rates go waay up on the weekend. I got the govt rate, or should I say the BF got the rate. Any how the rates have gone up to $90 for the govt. so I took a star away, but still a great place to stay, FREE wi-fi in the room and free breakfast! Watch out for all the bus loads of forgien tourists!

Clean.  Friendly.  Nice for the price.

I forgot to pack my PJs and went down to the front lobby to see if they sold tshirts.  They didn't but suggested that I drive down the street to Longs.  I never knew Longs had an apparel department but I found a large tshirt for $3 to sleep in.  Whew.

The room I got was on the hot side.  I had to keep the air conditioner on all night.  (It was room 302 in case anyone was interested.)

Oh, by the way, they still use regular metal keys, not the credit card type key system.

Overall nice stay...I dinged them a star because I started my stay with only 1/4 roll of toilet paper.  I had to go downstairs and get another roll.  Thank goodness I checked first!

Our rate thru http://hotels.com was $55 a night...we were there in March.

My friends and I had a nice stay here while visiting Yosmite.  It was a good deal on the internet.  The service was friendly and had some nice amenities. A swimming pool and a whirlpool which we didn't get a chance to try. Free tea and coffee at the lobby. The rooms were spacious and non smoking.  Beds comfortable, bathroom clean, and quiet rooms which all that really matters for me.  Free breakfest with waffles. Unfortunately no dinning tables to eat at. Overall had a good stay.
I recommend this place.

This place isn't a five start hotel and so I would like to add my review and hope to give it a new perspective. We paid $313 for two nights including taxes. We arrived at around 11:30am and check in wasn't till 4pm but the manager was nice enough to speed things up for us and we ended up checking in at 1pm. The room was ok..Nothing fancy, just a clean and quaint room. We were promised free continental breakfast and were sorely disappointed when we saw a few pieces of bread and the basic food items(jelly, butter, ...). They did have self-make waffles which were just edible nothing great. So all in all the rooms were good enough but overall the place is kinda old and it was a long long drive up to Yosemite Park and when we got back we wanted more than just an ok room.

Great price for the large room.  Clean, no smoke smell, but the decor is outdated.   Wow!!!  First hotel in many years where I had to use an actual key.  how cool is that.  Came here in early Jan. and went to Yosemite.  Not that far from the entrance.  Its about half an hour.  For the price and the distance to the entrance of Yosemite, it was a great deal for our family.
