I was very impressed with this place. I'll admit, it's no Venetian in Las Vegas but for the market it's in, Shilo Inn does a great job. After driving to Crater Lake on my way back to San Francisco this was the perfect stopping point for a night. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel and it is pet friendly (a big plus for me since I was just after picking up a puppy)

The rooms are very spacious and clean, it really put a lot of other hotels I've stayed at to shame (W hotel in New York, I'm looking at you). There was a separate living area to the room that included a fridge, a serving area for drinks and a second TV if you feel like watching a movie from a sofa instead of the bed.

I personally don't have any complaints about the metal keys, I'm happy as long as they do the job of keeping the crazies out at night. I'd definitely be up for staying here next time I hit up Klamath Falls.

I stayed here on my way to crater lake.  As stated by the review below, you get METAL keys, yes, METAL keys!  That's alright I guess but it tells you just how "modern" this place is.

Pros:
The room itself was big, spacious, and clean.  They do have free wifi so I guess they did adopt one thing from the modern era.  They have a 24 hr fitness room and swimming pool that some of you might be interested in.  The staff was also very courteous.

Cons:
The walls are very thin, you can hear the noise of the facets from the next door neighbor every time they turn it on.  All the appliances, decor reminds you of the 80s.  But then again, what did you expect from a place with metal keys?

If you are just looking for a place to sleep on a long road trip, this is not too bad of a choice.  Anything else, you are asking too much.

The first shocking thing about this place is that they handed us KEYS.  Yes, honest-to-goodness metal keys.  I can't even remember if I ever stayed in a hotel that handed out non-plastic keys.  So, the room smelled strongly of BO.  B suspects that it was a smoking room and recently got bombed with the whole OR smoking law thingie.  Bed was kind of not the best, room was kind of cold.  I was tired enough that most of that didn't matter.  The staff were certainly courteous.

I hope that things are better when management is "in." Because when "management is out" and there are more than five tables to be served in the restaurant the whole place seems to fall apart.

Forty-five minutes after sitting down, we still didn't have bread, milk for the kids or our bottle of wine. One of our table neighbors felt so bad for the kids she literally offered us her bread. This after her husband had walked out of the restaurant in a fit of rage. Nearby we could hear other tables asking for water, for food, for any kind of attention, it was like we were prisoners.

After more than an hour we had to threaten to walk out before receiving milk and finally our meals. The bartender tried to save the day by becoming our waitress, apologizing and comping the bulk of our meal. It was nice of her, but not nearly enough to try to eat there again.

Surely there must be someplace else to eat in Klamath Falls.
