OK, if I had stayed in the first room given to me then they would be getting like 1 star from me. That room was a horrible blast from the 80's and absolutely not acceptable. Should mention that the A/C was broken, bathroom was dingy with peeling wall paper and broken fan hanging off the wall. It was "classy".

I went down and politely told the guy that I would never book a room that looked like that. He gave me keys to two new rooms and we opted for the one that was partially made over but it was HUGE, had deluxe bed linens and comfy beds. The other was completely made over but the beds were like rocks-terrible!

The hotel was fine, the staff was very accommodating and friendly and the room was blacked out in the morning which is a huge plus.

I think for Pomona it is a good place to stay?

I came here for a wedding the other weekend.  I must say, I hope none of my unmarried friends get married anytime soon because all of these wedding presents are really hurting my wallet!

Anyways, I had an ok experience here.  At the bar, during the three hours between the wedding ceremony and the actual dinner, I hung out with my lovely date and some friends, having a few drinks.  I don't know about their drinks, but mine were WEAK.  Or maybe I should stop hitting the sauce everyday, I don't know.

First of all, I have issues with the bartender asking if I want my gimlet with vodka or gin.  Should I have to specify?  When I say gimlet, I mean gin, dammit!  Of course, this was a vast improvement over a bartender a few years back at another reception looking at me blankly when I asked for cabernet, and then saying, "Well, we have red, white, or pink."  Gah!  Idiots!

Second of all, when I did get my gimlets (and over the course of 3 hours, I had 3 of them), all I could taste was lime.  With maybe a slight hint of gin.  Boo.

The food at the reception was mediocre, but I've rarely been to a wedding where I really enjoyed the food.  The salmon was overcooked, and so was the filet mignon.  On top of that the tables were arranged so closely together that the backs of the chairs were touching, which made getting up to hit that open bar almost impossible!

Stayed here while visiting a friend at Cal Poly Pomona. Seeing as how literally its like 1 minutes down the road. It has a great location for seeing your kid or friends at cal poly. Its just.... Im a ritz carlton...fairmont...hyatt..type of gal. I can accept and expect lower than that. Its just. for 179.99 for the room....was ridiculous. The toilet and shower were seperate from the vanity and mirror section. Which i guess was a plus because i could do my makeup and dry my hair while not taking up my friends bathroom/shower time. But i would compare this place to a Motel. Its pretty old and pretty ugly. The rooms are old looking. Granted they are clean. but the feature flourescent lights. I HATE flourescent lights. My eyes turn red and they are just overall an unflaterring light. They should be eliminated. They charge 1.50 for bottled water....i mean come on the least you can do is give is the bottled water for free...it cost them what like 15 cents a bottle. Anyways if your visiting someone at Cal Poly my main point is. Good location. But stay somewhere else if your a 4 star hotel type of person. You will appreciate your stay more. Try the doubletrees. They are wonderful and even cheaper. 119.00 for a room with granite baths, flat screens, and down comforter bedding. And The Claremont Doubletree offers room service.
