3 reviews for Sheraton Suites Columbus
We don't travel to Columbus to sightsee. We're here for business or to visit extended family. As such, it doesn't matter to us that this hotel isn't close to the Zoo, OSU, the Brewery District, Polaris, or Easton.
It's quiet, there's plenty of kid-friendly dining options nearby, and there's a big movie theater close by, too.
The suites are nice- there's a tv in the bedroom and one in the living area, so my husband and I could shut the door after the kids were in bed and watch a movie without disturbing them. There was plenty of space for them to move around. They LOVED the indoor pool. It's not huge, but it's conveniently close to the elevator and was very warm. Towels were available poolside.

Dysfunctional landscape: Exhibit A. You're in a car, or trudging across a dreary space that acknowledges nothing without an engine. There was one sidewalk in the area, about a half mile away, that was conceived and aborted within fifty yards. I would pay bodily limbs if we could go back to 1945 and re-develop out nation.
This, of course, is not the fault of the Sheraton. People were nice. There was a suffocating presence of back-slappy commerce (JP Morgan conference). Two flat screens: one in the bedroom and one in the front room. I guess that's good for maximizing SportsCenter. But, of course, you pay for your internet. Thankfully, the Hilton nearby was not so greedy.
All-in-all, good place to sleep, bad place for existential considerations.
If I weren't the only one staying in the room, perhaps I'd have felt claustrophobic. The bedrooms are separated from the main living area, and both are well-appointed.
Staff is very helpful and cordial, and were shocked that I was there, driving during some level # snowstorm, something this visitor from Phoenix had no idea what the hell it meant. Close to a bunch of stuff, but as Ben mentioned, it's more conducive to driving than walking, though during my stay there was no way in hell I was going to be out walking in sub-zero temperatures in the snow (something I hadn't seen for 4+ years).
No free internet (boo) but there's a Panera close where you can surf the net to your heart's content. Also has both an indoor and outdoor pool, but I obviously only used the indoor hottub to try and defrost my body.
