It's late. 1am late. Too late to go home. What's the next best thing.. Sheraton Stamford
I stayed the past two nights here and although I didn't spend much time in it besides sleeping, the room was great! I'm sure it was a mistake, but the room the front desk gave me had two queen beds. Nice. I slept in one on the first night and the other bed on the second night. heh. Very spacious.
Amenities like terry cloth robe, electronic scale (145.6lbs), daily towel service, complimentary bottled water, soaps from bliss (who i've never heard of but was told is great), newspaper in the mornings etc. The best part: a shower head with strong water pressure.
It was the kind of room where you wish you could call someone up and say "hey! guess where i am!"
Other services to note:
Internet is $9.95 per 24 hr period
Breakfast is $25
No thanks.
Overall, good experience with the room. Service was ok. No one at the front desk answered when I rang for a wake up call. Relied on my trusty phone alarm instead.
And to the guy who dented my car in the parking lot: I'll find you!! Sleep with one eye open!!

Like the Sheraton Hartford, I only stay here because it's the only Starwood option in the area. The former Westin went Hilton at some point in 2008 (but the service there was typically been sub-optimal). There's a Four Points in Norwalk, I believe, but I usually have to be closer to Greenwich so it's not really an option.
I've stayed here about ten times and don't have any major complaints about the hotel. The gym is decent and the front desk staff is usually pretty competent. Some minor gripes:
- I don't believe they carry the WSJ;
- I understand that hotel restaurants are rarely inexpensive. However, for what you get, the food is pretty expensive here;
- they charge $6 to park in their garage;
- most of the rooms I've stayed in still have old RCA tube TVs.
I stayed at the Sheraton twice. It's a small hotel with only 5 floors but it's a nice and relaxing hotel. The rooms are a nice size with double beds, flat screen tv and a hug closet,the sink is outside the bathroom which is ideal to have if you have alot of people in the room. The room service was good. They were fast with the food and still hot.
The main floor of the hotel has a nice decor with pebble floors, and a bar to hang out at. They have a table of computers if you need to use free of charge. The pool and the gym is small. It's a great location to the bars, shopping and has an IHOP right across the street.
I stayed here twice when I visited in Stamford and I can say that it is a very clean and well run hotel. The staff was very attentive and it was a good size for the conference I attended there. They were very happy to help in any way the can. The rooms were bigger than I expected and it was very clean. (I love the amount of pillows provided and the beds were VERY comfortable). The conference rooms were very great and well kept. Water was provided in each room and refiled frequently by the staff. They have a very nice lobby with a gazebo and a lounge area near the conference room and a wet bar. So you could either sit at the bar or the lovely couches in the lounge area.
The gym is adequet, could have had some more equipment but the pool and sauna made up for it. Overall a very good hotel!!
