11 reviews for Sheraton St. Louis City Center Hotel & Suites
Actually, I want to give this place 3 1/2 stars. My bf booked this place on priceline or hotwire and we surprisingly got it for a good price and got a suite! It was a little on the older side, and not the cleanest (the couch and chairs had stains and the carpet was a little dirty looking), but the beds were very comfortable and the place is in a great location. It is walking distance to all the sports venues (though a good walk to the Edward Jones Dome--football), Union Station (shops/restaurants), the Arch, other hotels, restaurants, etc. I agree that the parking is a little steep--$17/day and the garage was almost full when we got there on a Saturday afternoon.
The bar in the lobby area was okay--a couple of tvs. They have a delicious brownie desert on their restaurant/room service menu that was worth every penny. We walked around upstairs and they have a nice banquet/meeting room floor as well. There's a pool and a big balcony that looks out over the city where you can lay out--too bad it was a bit chilly for that!
I have stayed here a couple of times while in town for fun. The hotel rooms are very large but somewhat dated. They are not super clean but are servicable. The location is great. Close enough to walk to all the big places in nice weather and just across the street to the local transit/train when it is sweltering hot.

For a little over a hundred a night on a Saturday with a AAA card, we were in the perfect location for a Blues game. The front desk person was very nice and friendly. The parking was convenient, less than other hotels in other downtowns, and you could park and come and go as you pleased for about the same cost as special event parking for the game itself. The room was also spacious and clean.

Good place. We got a BIG room for $180 nightly, which included "continental" breakfast (included choices of cereal, croissants/muffins, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, fruit, etc. - tons of stuff). The room had two queen beds, a nice sitting area, and two televisions. I think there was a smaller room for even less. We tapped into the wifi for free. Beds are comfortable and the building is nice and secure. The room smelled a little stale, like it may have been a smoking room in bygone days.
Pool and hot tub area, and fitness center are decent. There's a nice observation room surrounding the pool, so lots of bright light. The immediate area is highways and commuter train track, so the views aren't all great.
Walking distance to Union Station, the Arch, the stadiums for the Blues and the Cardinals. Also a MetroLink stop across the street.
The staff are super friendly!

Location, location, location! Can't go wrong with the central location of the Sheraton in St Louis. Its close to Metrolink, Busch Stadium,Gateway Arch, and Amtrak which is a huge plus for travelers.
The service was top notch and staff was nice and helpful. We were greated immediately and the room looked like a suite. It was spacious with a fridge and couch and very comfortable. No wifi however, booo! So that wasn't good, but we were on vacation so no Internet wasn't such a bad thing as we had our phones. The king bed was nice, cozy, and comfortable...something your looking for when your traveling.
I was very pleased with my experience with Sheraton St Louis City Center, I recommend staying here.
Good place to stay in downtown St. Louis.
On the plus side:
Relatively convenient for sightseeing in St. Louis
Relatively good price, comfy suite rooms, restaurant and Starbucks onsite, as well as pool and exercise room.
On the minus side:
Wired internet in rooms for a $10.99 per day. I am never a fan of being charged extra for internet access. There is free wireless in lobby and common areas but you are blocked from accessing any free wireless in the rooms. Parking is $17 per day. Room service food is so-so.
Location is a five minute walk from Union Station and from metro access, and about a half hour walk from the Arch.

I am only reviewing the restaurant here. The hotel looked great and seemed like a good place to… Read more »
The main thing going for this place is its great location. Literally right in front of the Civic Center MetroLink station, so it is convenient when using the MetroLink from the airport. There is a short walk to Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch as well.
It was nice to get the attention that I got upon entering the hotel lobby. I was greeted almost immediately and checked in quickly. A little snafu came when there were still someone staying in the room that we were reserved for, but that was quickly resolved by the staff. I don't know how that mistake could've happened, but oh well. Fortunately there was nothing inappropriate going on when we walked into the already-occupied room. :-)
The rooms are on the average quality. Surprisingly, the king bed room also included a sofa and chair, so it was almost like a suite. The window looked out into the central courtyard with a view of the inside of the hotel. A little lame and disappointing. I would've liked a window looking out into the city.
Unfortunately the sheets had some kind of stain in it, so that's a big no no. Since I only stayed for one night, I didn't bother to bitch, but otherwise I would've asked for new sheets. The bathtub faucet also didn't work correctly when you pulled on the metal tab to switch to the shower head, and it made for a very messy (and water-wasteful) time in the shower.
Minus one star for the mistake of providing a room with people still in it, stained sheets, and malfunctioning fixtures. Again, since this was only a one-night stay, there wasn't a need to bitch and moan about it to the staff.
Once again a good hotel! Once again a hotwire hookup! Around 70 a night. A few blocks from Busch Stadium. Easy to get to. Comfortable ass beds! Only bad thing was 17 a day to park which is a tad bit weak sauce. Its downtown though so its understandable. Friendly staff and a cool bar that has happy hour specials to get your drink on before you head down to the game.

A great hotel choice in St. Louis. The Sheraton City Center is in a very convenient location (next to Amtrak station, Metro station, blocks from Arch and Stadiums) so it was a prime choice. there are other more centrally located hotels, but for the price and the size of the rooms, this was an excellent choice. Huge hotel rooms for the regular size (would have been interested to see the club and suite rooms). great and accommodating staff and hotel personnel. only thing is it could have used more taxis around for guests. but another trip to the STL would probably get another stay here.

Wonderful staff, large rooms - awful food.
Good:
*Location: Quick walk from the Amtrak station, where I arrived, and practically next door to the Scottrade Center, which is where I was heading.
*The room was up to the usual standards of hotel cleanliness, though it did smell smoky (despite being a non-smoking room).
Bad:
*I thought $159 ($187 after tax) was high for one night in the middle of the week (Wednesday)
*Not only did Internet access cost money, but it was possible to buy it over and over in their confusing purchasing interface without any sort of confirmation screen. I got double billed, once for unlimited and once for 2 hours. Why did their purchasing interface even allow me to bill myself this way?
*No one told me the Internet was free in the common area. Golly... wonder why they wouldn't tell us, when it's $10 in the room?
*The front desk was unhelpful with the Internet charge and removed the cheaper charge, even though I'd used just 15-20 minutes of access and thought paying for the $5 session was more fair. Only when I told them I would be escalating my complaint did they erase both charges. I escalated my complaint nonetheless through Sheraton's website and have yet to hear a helpful reply on the matter.
*I couldn't find the continental breakfast, but the "Bistro" restaurant attached to the hotel was offering standard breakfast items like oatmeal for $8 a bowl - what a steal! Needless to say, I went out walking looking for somewhere else to eat.
*There are no eateries exceptionally close to the hotel. Not even a McDonald's!
*Someone, presumably housekeeping, pounded my door loudly at 8:50 am and tried to enter. The safety latch prevented them from entering, but it didn't prevent them from slamming the door against it multiple times until I was hiding in the bed like a pansy. They then apparently lost interest and continued down the hall. I've never had this happen at a hotel, so I wonder why Sheraton was different.
I don't think I'll stay at any Sheraton again, and DEFINITELY not this Sheraton, unless there's simply no other option available.
