8 reviews for Sheraton Silicon Valley
very nicely designed hotel...
couldn't locate the front desk by the layout but that's besides the fact...
rooms were so plush!
beds were like sleeping on marshmallows!
free starbucks coffee in the room...
reminded me of my stay at the wynn in vegas!
the outside looks very nice with the fountains and pool area!
it's right across creative labs, the sound company too!
if you are EVER out here on business, like i was for sf4 gamestop tourney ;), then stay here!
We stayed here for a good chunk of the week during a family emergency trip to the bay area and I was so surprised at how nice and friendly this hotel was.
The main reason we picked this hotel is because it's pet friendly with no extra charge per day to have your doggie in your room.
For a room that I lived in for a week there was nothing wrong at all with this place, the pool looked really nice (we never had time to make it out there) and front desk staff was amazing - and sent us a fruit basket to our room knowing that we were there under stressful circumstances.
I would recommended this hotel if you are traveling with your doggie.

We recently had our Holiday party at this Hotel. There are lots and lots of things that they messed up on...
1. The pool was under construction, and they said that she didn't know about it until that evening...WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!
2. So they tried to fix it by giving us a free hot appetizer. We had 73 people attending, they only provided ONE TRAY of meatballs. The rest of the appetizers that we ordered was Cheese and Crackers which was consumed 10 mins. BEFORE the cocktail hour, and they said that the plate was for 73 people when there weren't even 73 people in the room BEFORE the cocktail hour. They said that it took 20 minutes to arrange another plate of cheese, and they wouldn't provide us another tray of meatballs, but they finally did, and they sent it 2 minutes BEFORE DINNER!
3. The layout of the room provided to us did not match with what was in the room. Coat rack is NOT where we wanted it to be. There was no check-in table, and we had to ask to move things around.
4. Decorations - there were at least 4 Poinsetta plants that were dying! We had to ask for linens to decorate the table, when they should've provided this in the first place.
5. There were different parties going on that evening, and they didn't have enough signs to direct people and they weren't very visible. Then when they started to post a sign, they used a pen on a napkin.
6. The bartender kept getting visitors, and the event is for a private function. His guests kept coming in and out of our banquet room which was very disturbing.
7. They didn't have the contract handy, and we kept asking for them. They were looking for it the entire evening! How disorganized!
8. The Catering Manager knows that she made a huge mistake, and rather than owning up to it, she kept avoiding us.
9. The meals that were ordered were not what was stated on the menu. Prime Rib called for Au Jus and horseradish - none were on the table nor the plate. The Chicken was VERY DRY. The salad supposed to have 2 different dressings. Ranch was missing.
I can go on...Overall, the place was disorganized to begin with even before we were organizing our party. The Catering Manager was very loopy. She was very disorganized, kept asking me what the menu was, details, etc...Seems like she write her notes on a napkin just like their sign.
I agree with Michelle G...go to another hotel.
OVERALL RATING: NEGATIVE 5.

Well I've never held an event here like the previous posters, so I can't comment on that. But I have stayed here several times.
What's good:
- The Starwood Reward program (they matched my Hilton status and give great rewards to frequent guest)
- The Lounge for Platinum members (good breakfast, good apps, free wine and booze)
- Great staff
- The TVs. All new all flat
- The TV channels (E!, MTV, Comedy Central, Spike to name a few... the selection is way above and beyond similar hotels)
- The renovations. You can tell this is an older hotel that had a lot of upgrading
- Fast internet
Could be better:
- One morning my shower didn't drain properly
- Another morning there was no hot water
- The elevators (slowwwwwww)
Note: Higher floors have newer bed linens. Aim for floor 8 or above if you are an SPG member.

My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway. We are a member of Starwood (http://SPG.com) and we get points for upgrades and free rooms and such. This was our first Sheraton.
I have to say that it was very nice. Our room was spacious and clean and we overlooked the pool. We didn't try the pool but it looked nice and clean. The staff was top notch! So helpful. They had a full weather report for us and was full of local information. A call for extra pillows was answered by a knock at our door a few minutes later. Also, they have the most comfortable beds. I couldn't believe how easy it was to fall asleep. Nice flat screen TVs. The only problem with the TV was that it was sitting on a dresser way too low to watch while laying down in bed. You actually have to sit up to watch it. No problem for me but my husband was not pleased.
This is freeway close but not close enough for the noise of the freeway to disturb us. What did disturb us was music playing downstairs at the pool in the evening. We could hear it in our room and it was very annoying.
No free internet like all the other hotels and motels we passed (they were advertising). They do have a few computers in the lobby and you can use these at no cost. But really! Come into this Century and open up your internet for your paying guests.
All in all I would recommend this hotel. Close to everything, clean and with the nicest employees.
We did order room service one night. It was very pricey but the food was excellent. They have some great desserts too which we had with the most delicious coffee.
I do agree with Miss Boo B. (LOL) having a banquet here is a joke when you deal with the banquet manager that works there. Good thing I'm not having my wedding at this hotel, after my best friend hosted her wedding last year which was a disaster and a waste of her $20K budget. Who would want their wedding plans written on a piece of napkin? Not me. I do like this hotel (I've stayed here last year), but I wouldn't host a wedding.

The location of this hotel is somewhat secluded and right off the freeway. There is not much traffic around this area and it was pretty quiet when I stayed here. If you're looking for something simple, spacious, and some what on the low profile, this is a good spot. The bed was huge and hugs you as you lay in it. The TV's were flat panels and a decent size. The rooms were quite spacious. I have no complaints for this hotel. It didn't "wow" me but I was quite satisfied and wouldn't mind coming back here at all. Sometimes you are looking for a joint like this; "simplicity." For the San Jose area, it would sit in my top 5 hotels to stay at.
My husband and I had our wedding reception here it allowed us up to 250 ppl..and with our wedding package we got a NEWLYWED's Suite for FREE! The pool area is nice and the suites are big enough to be your average size apartment! the customer service is great ! BUT DO NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE ! SERIOUSLY THE EGGS AND BACON ARE STRAIGHT UP OVERPRICED and taste like something they warmed up outta the freezer other then that place is great even though it's in the cutty's!
