18 reviews for Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort
After doing some research on TripAdvisor and on Yelp, I decided on this hotel for our recent trip to Disneyland.
Highlights for the hotel:
* ART (Anaheim Rapid Transit) System picks you up and drops you off to / from Disneyland for a nominal fee. Well worth the cost and convenience. The ART kiosk and location is right outside the hotel. We parked our car at the hotel (for a fee) and just used the ART system. Fast, convenient!
* The self parking is right outside of the room tower. It was easy to bring the luggage in ourselves. There was no need to use the valet service which costs more than the self parking.
* When I booked the room, I put in a preference for a view of Disneyland. We were given a room on the 11th floor which gave us a great view. I think that this is the preferred club member level. I guess that it was not a busy time of the year so it was great to get an upgrade.
* Nice looking lobby area. Tastefully decorated. There is a lounge area with a bar and comfy looking chairs. There is a convenience store which sells sodas and other snacks in the hotel, opened until 11pm. We were able to buy soda and water and put it in the refrigerator in our room.
* The glass elevator. My daughter just loved being able to go on this elevator and see the view as the elevator went up/down!
* Spacious room. There was a lot of room at the end of our bed. The bathroom was a little smaller than I'd have liked. The decor was nicely done in blues and browns.
* We had breakfast at Molly's Kitchen (in the hotel) each day we were there. Good portions. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.
* We tried the Overland Stage Southwestern Grill (in the hotel) for dinner. The food was surprisingly good. Instead of bread, you get tortilla chips when you sit down.
I'm glad that I found this hotel. It's a good hotel for a family traveling with a toddler. Plus, I am glad I can earn Starwood Preferred points. We'd definitely stay here again on our next trip to Disneyland.
I was here for a conference last week. My guess is that for couples or families who are there to go to Disneyland, this might be just fine, but for people there for business or conferences, this is definitely NOT a hotel for us. In fact, I would guess that if the hotel were located anywhere else besides in the Disney area, it would be maybe 2 or 3 stars and less than $100 per night since that's all it's worth.
My loyal readers know that I'm all about the details when it comes to hotels. This hotel cares nothing about details. First, I expected to be on a club level since I've never NOT been on a club level. At this hotel, you have to pay to be upgraded to the club level unless you have a gazillion points (I guess they're taking after the airlines with their greedy stinginess). Not so much. When I asked for a quiet room, they gave me a room with a connecting door. Now, anyone who has ever stayed in a hotel room with a connecting door knows that these are the LEAST quiet rooms. They explained that all of their king rooms have connecting doors because it's mostly families there for Disney. Fair enough, but then don't advertise your hotel as being business friendly. Speaking of which, the desk space (actually the top of the dresser with some extra room pretending to be desk space) is pretty bad. And said dresser/desk is pushed so far to the entryway side of the tiny room that it's nearly impossible not to run into the corner of it when walking by. In front of the entryway is the teeny tiny sink area with no real counter space to speak of. Under it there was a hair dryer that didn't work (even when I asked for it to be replaced). The bathroom itself had towels that barely fit around my body (no, I'm not THAT large!) for after taking a shower that was not installed properly and sprayed water across the room (that was never fixed after calling the front desk either). Across from the sink was the small closet with mirrored doors. These are the only mirrors in the room, so if you want to make sure your suit is straight you have about 3 feet between the sink and the mirror to do so.
The bed itself was good, and the gym was great. The hot tub, which is usually my litmus test of a good hotel, was OK but probably could have been good if it wasn't so full of kids. Also, the fridge in the room was a plus. They really need to do something about the slamming doors, but I think that's a problem all hotels have. And it would be nice to remind people when they check in that not everyone is awake and returning from Disneyland at midnight so that people think twice about yelling up and down the hall in the middle of the night.
Overall, I thought the people were friendly and the location is good, but the room and amenitites are no better than an econolodge or something in any other location.

I loved this hotel!
So for my sister's 19th birthday, we decided to take a mini road trip down to So Cal. This wouldn't have been our first choice of hotel because we could have found something less pricey, but my mom works for Le Meridien hotel so she got a REALLY good deal. But if you can afford about $120 a night on the room, go for it!
Disneyland was not in our agenda for the trip but the whole time I was reaalllyyy wanting to go. We got a really good view of the park (we were on the 6th floor). It was awesome to be able to see the fireworks. I LOVE fireworks! But the view definitely made us wish we had the extra 100 bucks each to enter the park.
So I HAVE to make these recommendations for those of you thinking about staying at this Sheraton:
--Ask for the park view, on the 6th floor or higher.
--Ask for a room with a balcony. On the warm nights that we were there, it was so nice to just chill outside with our "beverages" and in our jammies.
--Put Disneyland on your list of things to do. This way the view makes you happy rather than sad.
--Come with your family so you can share that room next to you. I hear that door between rooms doesn't help block noise.
If you do all this, you'll get the most out of your stay. The beds were comfy. The decor was clean and bright. The pool area was beautiful. I was surprised to see it went down 8 feet too! There were nice plants outside. You could even order a margarita and have it poolside.
Two negatives:
--You have to pay for parking!! $14 a night.
--No "continental breakfast." Albeit, the free breakfasts at the Days Inn or Holiday Inn are always kinda blah, still it's free.
I would definitely come here again. I would have to have money for it or use my mom's discount, of course!
I was able to score 116.00 a night through AAA - but after taxes, resort fees, parking, it came to about 150.00 a night...be sure to shop online and call the hotel direct for 'specials' - they change every few days. Hotel is very close to Disneyland. It is a 10-15 min. stroll away. Great for a morning walk, but it will feel like a 10 mile hike uphill after a long day at the park. Buy a shuttle ticket (It stops right next to the hotel's valet parking.) 3.00 for adults and 1.00 for kids - upgrade your adult ticket for one buck extra to be able to ride all day. Kids ticket price stays the same...isn't that nice? Parking at the hotel is a whopping 14.00 bucks a day! Not nice.
Rooms are very clean. But, I was a bit shocked at lack of square footage - tiny room! If you want more space AND a free shuttle to/from Disneyland, go to the Sheraton Hotel around the corner. Park view - is actually a view of Cal Adventures - mostly the Tower of Terror. Note - having a park view only matters if you plan to view fireworks from your room. Otherwise, go for the pool view - you will be able to check in early and out later due to lower demand. Note - both views offer the exact same room.
Let's talk about food. The onsite restaurant MOLLY'S HAS THE BEST PANCAKES IN THE WORLD. Ok, at least Orange County! They were so yummy I got the 'secret' from the manager!
Bed was so comfy that when we got home my 5 year old announced that she needed a new bed like the one at the hotel. Damn you, Sheraton and your Super Sleeper beds!!!

Check-in: August 3rd, 2008
Check-out: August 7th, 2008
It's conveniently located close to Disneyland Park and California Adventure. Every room has a nice view (depending where your facing) but not every room has a balcony. If you happen to face Disneyland with a balcony, you can have an unimpeded view of the nightly firework display. Our room, however, was facing the pool. Hey, at least we had a great view of the Convention Center.
The rooms are not as large compared to Sheraton Anaheim but the beds are big for a queen size. It does have a fridge and that's always a bonus for food storage. It's also not a big hotel so the rooms are pretty close to the elevators. It also has one glass covered elevator to view the smoggy air outside. That's some serious smog they got down there. I wake up to fog in Daly City, and here you wake up to a great view of brown, murky air as far as the eyes could see. =)
It has a nice sized pool with outdoor bar to order your food and libation. Nothing to rave about as they are just hotel food and besides, I brought my own Guinness. We did order a few drinks but they were all forgetful and on the bland side. The kids did enjoy the pool but my oldest chipped his front tooth while diving. How the hell did he managed to do that? My mind immediately saw dollar signs to get his teeth fixed.
They did have a nice sized Fitness Center complete with elliptical machines, stationary bikes, free weights and a couple of multi-exercise machines. it was very spacious with nice view overlooking the pool area. They also provided you with free ear pieces which my kids took advantage of.
The shuttle to Disneyland stops in front of the hotel but it's not a hotel shuttle unlike the one in Sheraton Anaheim. You have to pay for this one and it stops on several locations. The cost for an adult would set you back $ 3.00 and child under 12 is $ 1.00 for an all day ticket. You can get a bargain by getting 3, 5 or 7 day ticket. It's inexpensive but the wait could take a while. We also saw a bunch of huge butt cracks coming and going. (Man, Americans sure are getting ridiculously obese it's not even funny)
Never got to try their restaurants since we were always out, but it does have a snack bar. Skip that too since there is a 7-11 across the street. Aside from Disneyland Park it's neighbors are the Convention Center, Restaurants, Angel's Stadium, Knott's Berry Farm, Shopping Malls, Strip Malls, Hotels and even a Target Store. I'd rather go to Target than give my money to Walmart any day.
To sum it up:
A nice hotel that's conveniently located to everything.

We stayed here one summer for a anime convention. I just came with my sister because she wanted someone to come with her. So while she was at the convention, I stayed around the hotel and wandered about the streets along Harbor .. doing nothing.
While we were there, their gym was actually out of service due to the repairs. The pool was infested with lots of people, so no swimming for me nor lounging for me since it was too loud at times.
The beds were the only good thing about this place. it was super big and comfy. I could have laid in it all day and slept through the night.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL
Sheraton Park Hotel is a great place to stay when you just want to go to Disneyland. its only 4 blocks away and very close to everything -- ie. 711, Subway, tons of restaurants and etc. Their rooms are really clean and some even has a patio which is great to relax in front of the sun. The BF and i arrive at the hotel around 830am and we were able to check in and get our room which was a plus because we wanted to drop our things before heading to Disneyland.
We had a regular room but it include a patio, REFRIGERATOR, & coffee maker! wow! you don't even get those applicanies in hotels anymore even the 5 star hotels! Their beds were SUPER comfy and the bathroom was decently sized. The hotel also had a nice gym & swimming pool & Jacuzzi. it was a great place to stay and especially for one night. we did nothing but relax!
i cant wait to stay here again.
Ps. If you plan to stay over night, parking is $14.00 a day which is still cheap considering the fact if you drove to disneyland you still had to pay for their parking.
Too cheap to stay at the Grand Californian? Want to limit your Disney programming to the daylight hours? Slave to Starpoints or the Starwood Preferred Guest program? Sheraton Park is perfect!
Well, almost. I'd really rather it be magically razed or transformed into a 30 story W Hotels tower, but hey, that's just me, not because the Sheraton Park sucks. Far from it, it's a well-run hotel.
The valets actually bring your car on time (although, after other hotels I tend to call 20 minutes before I want to go somewhere). The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean, recently remodeled, and have the new made-by-Bliss-for-Sheraton products. The club lounge is staffed with friendly bartenders, and has complementary cocktails nightly and free bar-quality food. Room upgrades to the club floor (seem to be) automatic for Platinum Preferred Guests. Don't expect a suite upgrade.
BIG WARNING: If it's raining, and you've had too many drinks from Ariel's Grotto or Downtown Disney, do not RUN back to the hotel via Harbor Blvd. The concrete sidewalk is very slick and depending on the level of your intoxication, you will land on your ass. Personal experience. Very slippery!
On the slightly annoying level, the hotel does employ some anti-bird technology that sounds like a high pitched whine. Some folks don't notice, but I did, and I've done well trying to destroy my hearing at clubs and concerts. It's only obnoxious outside, or when you open your window. I do love the absence of white stains all over the property though.
The proximity to Disneyland is perfectly fine if you don't mind walking a few blocks. Apparently there's a shuttle, but I've never felt like waiting for it.

4 stars for the super comfy bed and access to the Club Room (using up1,000 points), and walking distance to Disney. If we had not been able to access the Club Room, I would just give 3 stars. details below.
Rooms are nicely furnished. Beds are VERY comfortable. I love the Sheraton beds and long pillows (there's a difference in the fillings of the different size pillows). It's a real plus to consider for any hotel stay.
Walking distance to Disneyland/Calif. Adventure park in less than 15 minutes. You will be walking all day at the park and eating lots of junk food, so you may as well do some additional exercise. The ART system shuttle stops here and the cost is $3 for adults, $1 for kids for the whole day.
Breakfast is not included, unless you are a Platinum member. Or, you could use 1,000 points per night to upgrade to access the Club Room, where you get free continental breakfast (no hot food) cereals, breads, fruits, yogurts, pastries, hardboiled egg, and a machine that makes latte, capuccino... no chocolate to make a mocha though. In the Club room, 5pm-7pm, they serve 2 hot hors d'oeuvres, yummy fruits, cheese, and the BEST thing: free cocktails and wine. The waitress makes an awesome margarita on the rocks. Also, you could use the computer to access the internet for free in the Club Room. The service is awesome, tip well.
Cons:
--Internet costs $10 per day. Bummer in the days of free wireless access.
--Parking costs $14 per day. Another bummer when other hotels like the Embassy Suites includes it.
--Breakfast not included, unless you have Club Room access. Embassy Suites include breakfast in their rates.
--Front desk service is spotty. We wanted to extend our stay here 2 more days but they weren't willing to match the rate we found at another Sheraton nearby.
Basically, when you compare this hotel against Embassy Suites, consider that E.S.' price includes parking and breakfast. E.S. serves a full breakfast.
Only half a block stumbling distance to the convention center and so much more! This little gem of a hotel is tucked away from the sounds of the nearby crowd.
My friend and I were so drunk one night we didn't know you had to use your hotel key card to open the door in order to enter the hotel. My friend and I almost broke the doors trying to open them! Just one of those crazy nights.
The rooms are clean and roomy! They also have balcony's which us drunks wound up hanging out of and luckily didn't fall to our deaths from seven stories. The hotel also features two bars, coffee shop, dry cleaning, garden patio, internet access, all the amenities of a resort.
BTW the pool is not 24/7. After scaling the wall trying to break into the pool (ever heard of someone breaking into a pool before? I know it sounds funny.) we were greeted by security and escorted out of the pool area. But it only made us go back in after they left. Party in the pool!!

Affordable room, comfy beds. In close proximity to Disneyland/California Adventure. You can walk a couple blocks or opt for the $3/day shuttle - which I did. Comes every 15 minutes or so and drops you right by the entrance.
Clean rooms, great service - I got to check in like 8 hours early - but I guess that just depends on the availability. You gotta pay $14 for parking, (which is pretty typical for hotels in the area) but the permit lasted me the two days/one night I stayed there. Also room service isn't offered in the wee hours of the AM (can't remember what time the kitchen closes). Darn, we were kinda hungry when we got back after Disneyland closing.
Overall very easy, very satisifed!
My sister was a manager here so I would come and visit her regularly. The food that they have at the bistro is good. Also one thing about Sheraton (specifically this location) is that they allow pets so when my sister came back down here to visit, she stayed here with her dogs.
A very nice and affordable place to stay!
Nothing is WRONG with it, great location, and if your a starwood member reedeeming points you get the most bang for them here, could use some updating though.....for the price there is usually better if you are paying, but again its not bad at all.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a quick trip to Disneyland. Although everyone kept asking us if we were there for the convention. We never figured out which convention they thought we should have been attending, but it is super close to the convention center. It's also close to Disneyland, especially if you can get in the back way at the Lion King parking lot and take the Timon tram.
The hotel was nice. The room was small, but pretty, and the beds were comfortable.
The hot tub was great! We went down at about 8 am on a Monday, and the temperature was perfect. In fact, the housekeeping guy in charge of the pool area assured us it would be, and he was correct. He also helped us out in the guest laundry area when we had to dry some wet shoes. He gets a star all by himself, but sadly I have forgotten his name.
Molly's restaurant was decent for breakfast, and closer than Coco's.
This was a great hotel. Visited Disneyland for 5 days and chose this hotel for the great family discount we got from a friend. There is a shuttle that you have to pay to use each day but it doesn't break the bank. Kids are free.
Beautiful rooms! Not the drabby curtains or comforters or ugly carpet. This room was truly pretty. It was manly enough for a man and comfy enough for a lady. The room was a tad small with two little kids but I didn't mind it since the beds were oh so great. We had a patio over looking the pool. That definitely entertained my 3 year old.
The pool is your average pool. 3 year old and hubby got great use out of the hot tub.
They have a restaurant in/next to the hotel called Molly's Kitchen. We only had breakfast there 2 days and it was great. Wonderful staff and great service. They didn't mind when all four of the kids we had with our party were spilling stuff everywhere. They loved us...I know it!I
They have a little deli/market that we visited a lot. Family owned. You'll definitely be buying something from here, guaranteed. He bribed my screaming son with a free lollipop...I thought that was nice.
I will definitely stay here again. The staff was truly accommodating and had excellent service. The rooms were exceptional and location is great.
Oh, one more thing...they extended our stay by one night at the great discount...they didnt have to do that but they did. We liked that!
We picked this hotel ($179) for our NYE trip to Disneyland due to its close proximity and the heavenly sleeper beds. They were able to let us check in early so we could be on our merry way to the happiest place on earth according to my wife. The room was nice, spacious with a balcony that overlooks the garden / pool area. What deducted a star from my review is the 2 half filled water bottles that were left on the table for us to drink. So, i was a bit erie with the cleanliness of the sheets in our room. We went down to the lounge bar for a drink, but there was no bartender in sight so we decided to head back to our room and relax. The valet guy was very friendly, helpful and told us that whenever we would like to pick up the car, just call ahead 5 mins and it would be waiting for us and it certainly was. I am a huge fan of Starwood hotels, but our stay was a bit disappointing.

Cool quiet place, away from the crowds. My family visited from out of town and they wanted to stay here- it was VERY quiet. They were very impressed with the room. They had a cool room overlooking Disneyland/fireworks show, ask for it NICELY when you check in. No parking structure, just park where ever you want, use your parking pass to come and go as many times as you'd like....they allow smoking in the hotel lobby bar?!? Unheard of...anyways, it was just lovely. Nice to walk to Disney, wear your walking shoes....yes close to everything. Amazing how Anaheim is changing!
Amenities in room is also nice, they use Bliss spa products.
