Don't come here if you're looking for a real Miami experience. Or a really a great experience period.

The Bad:
The elevator wouldn't take me to my floor. First thought: I'm on the pent house level, must need a card. Nope, doesn't scan. Elevator moves anyway. Takes me to the wrong floor, and doors don't open. Then moves back down, and I had to take another elevator.

Lights weren't on, something that should be done when someone is expected to check into a room at night. (I'm a ex-hotel editor, I'm a little picky)

Was at first excited about balcony, until I saw the garbage and the view. Where the hell is the city?? You have to squint to see it.

The bar (of course I went to the bar): All men, bartenders ignore women, expecting the men to just buy their drinks. And no mojitos, despite the fact they are listed on the menu. Thank you for already f-ing up my Miami experience by not having mojitos. The men are very creepy and can't take a hint. And there's leopard carpeting, enough said, it probably encourages the creepy men to be more sleezy.

The menu: Barely any Cuban food besides a Cuban sandwich. There's no freaking restaurants, nevertheless, anything, anywhere near here, please at least offer descent food on your menu. And for god sakes, put the Cuban sandwich on your late night menu. I didn't want pizza and went to bed hungry.

The "sight" listings: Like 9 malls listed. The hotel is connected to a mall, do you think I want to go to more malls???!

The Internet: It costs $10 a day. Some business friendly hotel you are. First, the room is barely lit so you can't even read, and then you charge me $10 to check my e-mail. Verdict: You simply suck.

Beds: Springy

I usually love Starwood hotels, a.k.a. W's, Sheratons, Wyndhams, etc. But this one just blows. However, I see here on the Web site they are breaking away from Starwood. Dear Starwood, tell it "good riddance."

Why two stars instead of one? Room was clean and the bathrooms are female friendly with actual blowdryers and ammenites that include cotton swaps.

stayed here again on my trip down for business. It is not a Sheraton anymore and you can tell. I didn't think I received the same attention as I did when it was a Sheraton (but maybe its because I showed my Starwood card...who knows) . Room service staff was still wonderful and room was fantastic except for the face there was never any cold water. Don't know if that's a Florida thing, but I like cold water when I brush my teeth.

I ended up here because I got it through hot wire for $74. It is listed as 3.5 stars. I had problems with my key, got a replacement and still had problems. I call security the second night to open my room and they never showed up. I managed to get in on about the 30th try. The rooms are nice enough and clean but certainly not the Hyatt which is the same rating on hotwire. The hotel does not have the attention to detail that I would expect. It is far from anywhere on the south west side of the airport.
