5 reviews for Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center
I completely agree with Dorothy. The staff was extremely nice and considerate. I flew here for work and the hotel is right next to the airport and really close to RTP. I stayed in a King on the Club Room level and it was really nice. The club level provides you with continental breakfast, evening drinks (2) and hors d'oeuvres, free wireless, and free access to a very well-equipped Gold's gym right next door.
If you're like a Starwood guy like I am, this is your place to stay. I have to admit it's a little far away from downtown Raleigh, but the commute wasn't that bad when I went there for dinner one night.
Nice, modern lobby, large hotel, friendly staff. Rooms are a little outdated, but not bad. The grounds are nice as well.
The bad is no work out room. Oh, for $7 I can go to Gold's next door. No, I'm paying for a room so I don't have to go next door. Get a freakin' work out room!
Be prepared, the kitchen closes around midnight and even earlier on Friday and Saturday and there is NOTHING around. This location is a business park. They said the van would take us to a place with some restaurants.
But sometimes, at a hotel, you don't want to have to deal with requesting the van, waiting for the driver, going, figuring out where you want to eat, getting it, getting back in the van for the ride back, tipping the driver and finally schlepping back to your room to eat your meal in front of David Letterman!
Dorothy's right, I now know the true meaning of Southern Hospitality. I never heard one person complain about their job, always had a smile on their face and wasn't cheesy and fake about it either. Huge hotel, and I kept getting lost. Kind of a good thing cause I like to get lost and learn new things. Everyone here was so nice, would come back.
You know that cliche about 'Southern Hospitality'? Well, my goodness, golly gee, this place epitomizes that saying. Seriously, I've never been at a hotel, granted, I haven't been to many, where the people were extremely nice. Not sickening, pseudo, just-working-here nice, I mean, really genuinely nice and abnormally eager to please. Even the most lackadaisical person is still descent to deal with.
The customer service has been nothing but commendable. There's a shuttle service that takes you to the airport and to other places where you would need transport. The staff is diligent and detail oriented and super accommodating. This place makes me want to be a Southern Belle, seriously! Highly recommended if you come here for business.
This was a great place! It has a delicious breakfast buffet and the rooms are nice. Definitely would stay here again, if I need to go back to Raleigh.
