absolutely beautiful hotel with the most elaborate pool oasis i've seen. the rooms are comfortable and most have a panoramic view of miami beach.
the lobby has high ceilings and opens to a bar on the back side leading to the pool. walk past the pool and you're strolling on miami beach in 80 degree water.
we happened to stay here while they were hosting the next pussycat doll casting and we saw a lot of "eye candy" as our taxi cab driver referred to it.
it's also conveniently located right across the bal harbor mall. if you want to live in luxury, book now~
I agree that this hotel has great amenities for this location.
1) Right on the Beach and the poolside has a few pools, one wading pool for the kiddies, slide, jacuzzis.
2) Almost right across from the Bal Harbor Shoppes (great if u have money to burn)
3) Hotel rooms are furnished well, no different from a Marriot etc.
Cons:
The beach has alot of seaweed. Also, for whatever reason, this beach area has a craggy seafloor so beware of wading over rocky ground poking your footsies. At South Beach, the ocean floor is smooth and sandy. Dunno why.
Location is a bit far from South Beach siteseeing, you'll need a car to get out there.

Oh my god, I just got back from a weekend away with my boyfriend and it was fantastic! The rooms were nice and has a great view, service was great and it was a short walk to the beach. If I went again, I would skip the breakfast at the hotel's "Edible Express" but other than that I would reccomend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. We booked through Expedia, so we got an amazing price on the room. The rooms (in the North tower, at least) were fabulous. The pool is wonderful, and the beach is great too. Everyone was very nice and helpful while we were there, and we couldn't have had a better stay. I have heard it's becoming a residences/resort kind of thing, which is too bad because I would love to stay there again!
