4 reviews for Shenanigans Eastside Pub
We've been going to Shenanigans west on Sheridan for some time now, and it's always been good, so we were pretty excited to learn they were opening an east location smack dab in our neighborhood. It's been open for some time now and it's developing rather nicely. For all intents and purposes, it can be described as a "jock" bar. Lots of slap-happy back-slappin', high-fivin', fist-bumpin' hoots and hollas from strapping young lads in Abercrombie shirts and Old Navy flip-flops. BUT it's also a biker bar, a Canadian bar, a family restaurant, and a place for cops and regular folks to hang out. (Yeah, cops, they are there all the time) Really, it's a cool freaking place.
Get the blackened and grilled wings. Now. Like, this very moment. These wings are enough to quell riots in Sudan. Seriously. If the owner of Shenanigans ever reads this review (and we have met him, he is super nice), then please, please, PLEASE bottle that danged sauce already. I want to slather it on my eggs and put it in my ice cream sundae. These wings are THAT good, people. The pizza is also of a fine quality. Actually, both Shenanigans locations are virtually guaranteed to serve you a fine plate of whatever you order.
Shenanigans divides the service between bar tab and food tab. You will get separate bills for each, which annoys some but is perfect for my fiance and I, who split the bill. The food service can be patchy due to the short attention spans of giggly 20-something waitresses in short-shorts, but Amy the bartender is as sweet as apple pie and will always be your hook-up. She is the queen of the joint whether they've given her that title or not. She's been there since they opened this location, and I don't think they give her one day off, she's that crucial.
Shenanigans East has quite a few nice screens and you can always catch a game. (Felecia W., another Yelp reviewer, we will maybe see you one day rooting the Pats and Sox.) This is the perfect place for it. As of tonight, we just left during the NC vs. Villanova game and the place is on fire. They even have a screen of hockey (and some cold cheese curd on the menu?!?) for the Canadians.
Tonight for the the first time that we've seen, they had the outdoor patio open with a classic-rock-slash-jam band. Lots of Grateful Dead, Marley and of course, Buffet to the gills. Band sounded great, patio was almost packed with happy folk.
This is a perfect neighborhood bar and restaurant. Bikers, jocks, families, cops, it's all good in the neighborhood. Applebees has nothing on the "Bulldog". You won't pay a lot, you'll get decent service, food is always good, place is happy and has a great vibe.
This is my new favorite place! There are like 10 TVs to watch the sox and pats on. The bartenders and servers are always so peppy and happy, and on top of their game. It has a nice local feel to it. There is no need to get all decked out, but you totally could if you wanted to for fun. The Jukebox is pretty dope (but arent they all these days since they are all digita?!).
The food is good bar food. The Artichoke dip is cheesy goodness, and the pizzas are pretty damn great.
Maybe I'll see you there on some Wednesday night!
(oh, the only thing that drives me crazy about this place is that even when you sit at the bar, you get a server for food, and you are forced into have 2 checks. Its just a little annoying.)
i try to go to shenanigans at least once a month, this place probably has the best pasta salad ive had, the honey garlic backed wings are amazing great prices and service i highly recomend it
This is the sister pub to the one on Sheridan St in Hollywood. They specialize in homemade pizza and chicken wings which are both good. Many HD tvs to watch sports. They have outdoor seating under tiki hut and they share the patio with Charlies BBQ if you want something different to eat.
